While driving to Key West, we stopped at this restaurant. We had spent almost the entire day at Bahia Honda State Park and were absolutely starving. I kept thinking, "till Big Pine Key, I've seen so many waterfront restaurants--so let's just head toward Key West, and if something looks tempting, we'll stop." That's when we spotted Kiki's. The big, bold sign caught my eye, and we took a right turn Parking was easy (lots of space), and the place had that classic tropical vibe--laid back, colorful, and vibing. The restaurant has two floors of dining plus outdoor seating. Near the entrance, there's a small stage for live music and a bunch of bright Adirondack chairs that really add to the chill atmosphere. signs for big cities (like 2000 miles to Quebec, haha) We got our table quickly, and since we were trying to make it to Mallory Square in time for sunset, we let our server know we were in a bit of a rush. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great, and we ended up spending about 55 minutes there, which felt longer than expected given our timing. We ordered: * Mahi Basket: - really good, and my wife loved it. * Snapper Sandwich: with crunchy fries and sauce - solid and satisfying, also great fish Overall, the food was good, the vibe was matching, and the whole setting was really nice--just the service didn't quite match. But honestly, if we hadn't been in a hurry, it probably wouldn't have bothered us. They also have a pier for boat parking, a small gift shop, and air conditioned bathrooms (haha). Couldn't get the server's attention, so I just ate it. When the bill came, I calmly explained and asked for it to be removed -- not to avoid paying, but to acknowledge the mistake. The manager came over visibly annoyed, took zero responsibility, offered no apology, and basically said "you ate it, you pay." Then walked away. This wasn't about the money -- it was about accountability and basic respect. Completely mishandled. It's a shame because the place has a great atmosphere, but with management like that, I won't be back. Plenty of better options in the Keys. read more

Came here for lunch! The restaurant is really nice and has a beautiful view of the water. They have a stage where they play live music too. We ordered a dozen oysters, tuna nachos, and a pineapple and mango frozen colada. The nachos were delicious and super fresh! Would definitely recommend! Unfortunately out of the dozen oysters we ordered, only half were edible. The other half dozen of the oysters smelled really foul so we couldnt eat them. The server was kind enough to remove that half from our bill. The frozen coladas were a miss too- they didnt have much flavor and the rum wasnt mixed in, just poured on top. Perhaps because of the heat? Not sure. Nonetheless the service was absolutely wonderful and we still had a nice time. read more

Really fun spot to pop in for lunch! We ate here after a pleasant morning spent at nearby Big Pine Key. Lunch options were a little bit limited in the area so we were happy to find Kiki's! We stopped at this spot for lunch after spending some time at the beach and everything was great. We went for lunch on a Sunday and it was not busy at all. They do have outdoor sitting downstairs and indoor upstairs. We decided to do indoor. Our servers (one was in training) were great and attentive. A part of our party went fishing on a charter boat and it docked at this location. The rest of us met them here. This is a nice spot. Nice views of the water. They offer to cook whatever you catch for 18 bucks per pound. They give choices of fried, grilled or blackened. Our party chose blackened. There's nothing like fresh fish. It was very good but also TOOOO salty. I would request lightly blackened next time. They include sides with it and bring it out family style. All of the servers are genuinely wonderful -- friendly, attentive, and always make you feel welcome. I have the pleasure of playing live music here every other Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM, but they feature live music every single day during that time, and often have additional entertainment hours too. Definitely check their website for the full music and event schedule -- there's always something going on! As for the food: the wings, smash burger, and tuna nachos are absolute must-tries. Stopped with my family they have been locals for 40 years, and we really wanted to support this restaurant because the food and the location are both excellent. Unfortunately, we've had the same experience twice--once in May and again in July. On our first visit, one person at our table never received their meal until well over an hour after everyone else had finished eating. We couldn't get more than a round of drinks either time because nobody came back. We decided to give the restaurant another chance, but the exact same thing happened again, this time with two people at our table. We gave up they never ate. On our second visit, we were the only table seated outside when we arrived. By the time we finally gave up waiting for the missing meals, every table around us had been seated, served, eaten, and left. When the restaurant gets busy, the kitchen and service seem unable to keep up. What was most disappointing wasn't just the delay--it was the response. I asked to speak with the manager, hoping they would acknowledge the problem or offer a solution. Instead, I was met with, "What do you like me to do?" When I said I would share my experience online this time , the response was, "One review out of all the reviews won't matter." That attitude was far more disappointing than the long wait. Mistakes happen, especially in busy restaurants, but customer service is defined by how those mistakes are handled. We wanted to support this business, but after two nearly identical experiences and such an indifferent response from management, I can't recommend it until they address both their service issues and their approach to customer concerns. read more

We appreciated the table umbrellas to shade us from the sun. They have covered bar with plenty of libations to choose from. Our server recommended the tuna nachos and we obliged. Upon entering wasn't sure where to go to get seated. So I went upstairs and was told to seat myself. We had 7 total, but found a seat right away. The waitress was very nice in explaining that the kitchen was very backed up and we could t order right now. As soon as they opened back up she would get our order in. About 10 min later she came back and took our order, BUT once the food came out we were missing the 2 apps we ordered and my daughter's food. Apparently they ran out of flour tortillas, so then I asked about wonton chips, nope don't have those either. Sadly my daughter didn't get to eat dinner - being a vegetarian at such a young age is rough. The waitress was so sweet though and brought her some crackers. She even offered my daughter some free pie to brighten her face! Overall, I'd come back, but just be aware of the crowds and kitchen scene. read more

The only thing was I wanted smaller raw oysters so I did ask before ordering and they came out larger than I expected but Cheryl also noticed as well and asked if that was ok which I appreciated. The coconut shrimp is the best coconut shrimp I've had but the real star is the famous nachos. Definitely give them a try. Stopped for a few appetizers and drinks on our way up to Marathon. Walked in to a super friendly, laid-back atmosphere. Loved the decor and the views - and the sandy floor gave it that "beachy" vibe. We ordered the Key Lime mojito and Key Lime punch. Both were good - but came after our appetizers were served which was a little bit of a bummer. Ordered the grouper app - which was delicious. Lightly breaded so not too heavy. Dipping sauce was a tartar which was average. The Kaboom shrimp was delicious - good amount of sauce, and not too spicy. I also ordered a cup of lobster bisque which was good - but sort of "thin" for a base without any lobster pieces. But the flavor was great. Alright, here's what I think after visiting Kikis 3 times. Every time, the service was so slow. The kitchen gets backed up easily and the servers seem overloaded with a ton of tables. However, the ambiance is one of my favorites in the middle keys, and the live music is always amazing. Nothing feels better than a drink in hand, toes in the sand, with a beautiful water view, while listening to live Caribbean music. Kiki's always feels like vacation, which is why I love it here. Also, the food is pretty good, the tuna nachos are actually really delicious. So, come for the vibes, the atmosphere, and the drinks, but don't be in a rush, and you'll love Kiki's too! read more
