We were staying at Isla Bella and ate here our first night. It was suggested we make reservations. We showed up about 20 minutes ahead of the reservation and were able to get seated about 10 minutes early. We had requested outdoor seating but it was rather chilly that night so we opted for an indoor table. Outdoor seating is covered with a roof but walls are open or covered with tarp. It's a beautiful setting along the beach. The building is beautiful as well with a white, beachy decor. For dinner I had gnocchi. It came out with steam pouring from the plate. It was delicious. So good, I forgot to snap a photo before I started eating. The portion was far more than I could eat. Bread came with the meal and it was served with olive oil dipping sauce. Excellent! Prices were on the higher side. Service was uneven. For prices being on the higher side, I would have expected a higher level of service. Despite that, this was an excellent place to eat. Great dinner dining experience at Mahina. Menu is alittle pricey but what you would expect at a resort. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The lobster crusted Mahi presentation was beautiful. It wasn't crusted more like a clump of lobster on top of a Mahi filet that didn't have any seasoning. The desserts were delicous! This beautiful hotel and restaurant recently opened so there are some service issues but don't let this dissuade you. Just be patient. Mozzarella appetizers were good, my favorite was the pesto. Don't know why they don't serve bread with it but when we asked they brought it. The un-wedge salad was also good. I had the shrimp alfredo which I normally don't get because it's too rich. This wasn't the case here. Just enough sauce and not overboard. Good stuff. I split the grouper with the wife and it was excellent. Great crust and sauce. Our friends had the spaghetti and meatballs which was delicious. There wine list is limited but the bar made a great apple martini. Pizzas look really good. Day 2 breakfast. I had the shrimp eggs benedict. Cooked as ordered and very tasty. I liked the avoid spread with it. The wife went healthy and had egg whites with apple chicken sausage. Our friend had the omelette. This place was so good we went here twice. Both times we sat on the patio and had the most amazing wait staff! First night we had Michelle and she was a delight, very knowledgeable about the drink pairings, and even made the girls their first Shirley temples, which they loved having "fancy" drinks. The second night we had Gabriel, super friendly and knew a lot of out the food and what was best. The whole fish was so good and fun to eat, and the aioli with it was just so flavorful. The steak was amazing, the rock lobster that was the special both nights was HUGE ( the girls really got a kick out of seeing their dad eat a whole lobster, which they thought looked like an alien bug) the bread was great, wine selection was vast, and the desserts!!! Spectacular hotel, very spacious and clean rooms, very good service. unfortunately the food is really low level. Tuna "Tartare" is made out of minced tuna that they probably use for their maki rolls at the beach. The pizza is basically a dough with a can of tomato sauce and some slices of mozzarella. Expensive but not ridiculous. Seafood pasta was good. Pork chop was great. Korean ribs Kalbi were great. Lobster encrusted mahi was almost great. Trim the bloodline and it would have been amazing. First time trying Mahina which is inside the brand new Isla Bella Resort. Wow is a good word to start. The view and ambiance was amazing as water is all around the property. The outdoor bar has great seats and views of the water along with some delicious drink options. We finally broke ourself away from the bar to go inside for dinner. There are also a lot of outdoor tables for dinning some almost right on the beach. Tina was our waitress inside and she did an amazing job with our group of 7. We started with the Huli Huli Chicken flat bread and Hawaiian style ahi poke. Both were outstanding. Dinner had a lot of great choices(see picture of menus) but we went with the Seafood Pasta which was: Mahi-Mahi, Whole Shrimp, Manila Clams, Spicy Coconut Tomato Broth, Fresh Herbs, Squid Ink Pasta, Sweet Basil for $36.00 and the Hoisin Chicken: Hoisin Glaze, Garlic-Edamame Potato, Baby Bok Choy, Guava Sauce for $38. Both were excellent. Two of our group had the swordfish special and raved about it. We finished the night with upside down pineapple cake. Yes, it was amazing as well. While this is certainly not an inexpensive place to eat, the locations, views (lots of beautiful water) service and food choice made it a special night and worth every penny. read more

We were fortunate enough to eat here while Robertas had a pop up pizza place as well as Il Postino's regular menu. My pizza was fantastic. I've been too lazy to trek out to brooklyn to go to the original Robertas, but I assume this is just as good. Perfectly baked and assembled. My wife got the mahi-mahi. The server was very gracious in her substitution offers since my wife is dairy free. The fish was awesome, as were the sides of sauteed mushrooms and zucchini. We ate outside. Was skeptical about coming here at first thinking it couldn't be that great but was pleasantly surprised! The dinner we had at Mahina was one of my favorites during our stay in the keys! For dinner, the waiter suggested the clams which were awesome, the sauce was fantastic. The bread basket was simple but delicious. For the main entrees, we got the churrasco and sushi special, both were delicious. Again, was very surprised that the sushi was great at a restaurant that doesn't primarily specialize in sushi! For dessert we selected the chocolate cake, a great way to finish the night. The next morning of our stay we liked mahina so much we got breakfast there which was delicious as well. Overall, the prices are fair for a nice resort, and the service is great. Loved our experience here! read more

Are here the other night. The resort is simply beautiful. We sat outside looking at the water, which was lovely and you could hear the band playing. The menu was quite limited though. We had the mussels which were good and split a Caesar salad to start. My boyfriend had the seafood pasta and he was happy with it. My son liked his margarita pizza. The wine list was great too, we tried a new one and I would definitely order again. The filet I ordered came out over cooked. I sent the meat back to have a medium rare. I finished the sides and the rest of the table finished eating. I asked our server how the steak was coming along and she said she would check. It came out as a brand new dish Sides and all. I told her I didn't need all of that but she insisted. The steak was cooked to the proper temp this time. I couldn't eat the sides as I was too full. Felt bad wasting it. I would recommend this restaurant as it's nice not having to leave the resort and the views are exceptional. I would suggest to expand the menu a little. read more

We stayed at Isla Bella for four nights over the Christmas holiday. We ate at Il Postino twice and at the outdoor bar/restaurant once. Set your expectations, this is not quick dinning. However, grab a drink and enjoy the view, the sunset is worth the wait. The bread, pizza, calamari, cauliflower (vegan meal)coconut shrimp, meatballs and spring rolls were our favorites. As mentioned, they need to work on their pasta and white sauces. They lack flavor. Key lime ice cream, key lime tart and tiramisu were also big hits. Delicious! During our stay, everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, especially the Manager, Justin. This resort is 8 months old, the property is beautiful but has some adjustments to make. Seeing Justin in action, I'm sure that the resort will make necessary changes. They had a tough time getting food served quickly, especially with the large Christmas crowd. Our surroundings were so beautiful and we were in relax-mode so we didn't mind. Our table service at I'll Postino, for my birthday, was on point. House did a great job. Definitely make a reservation, we couldn't have gotten a table if we didn't have one! We look forward to returning to the resort and I'll Postino! read more

If you ever decide to take a trip to the Keys definitely check out Il Postino located inside the Isla Bella Beach Resort in Marathon. We got to the resort late so my son and I decided to stay on site. Ruben was our waiter and he was awesome! The service was really good. We started with the meatball appetizer which was so good! I could have eaten that along with the yummy bread they brought to the table. I had the beef tenderloin for dinner. It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was very good. Definitely a good piece of beef! My son had the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. He loved every bite. I washed my dinner down with a Strawberry Rhubarb martini. If it wouldn't have been $15 I probably would have gotten another one. I ended the night with their Flourless Chocolate Cake. Nothing but rich dark chocolate that made me do a happy dance . If you have been to Miami's Joe's Stone Crab, I promise you these were 1000x better. The key lime mustard sauce that came with it was exquisite. We were a little skeptical based on the mixed reviews, but wanted to check out the sunset and the resort. This restaurant is open to the public, even though it is within the gated resort of Isla Bella. The security guard was very friendly and told us to park at the first left we could take. We booked very early and got a table next to the water and at sunset. It was a spectacular spot for sunset and very romantic. Kaylean was a great server and knew the menu well - offering suggestions when we were undecided. We ended up with the seafood pasta and lobster crusted mahi. The seafood pasta was delicious and I would order it again tomorrow! The lobster mahi was good - but the pasta was better. Pineapple upside down cake was a perfect finish to the evening. I just want to give a huge shoutout to Garth who works at not only Mahina but the beach bar. He is simply someone who does it all. He is attentive, bubbly, friendly, and very funny. He is all focused on the customer experience and he made our time at our resort wonderful. We had the pleasure of being served by Garth the first night at Mahina and the second night at the beach bar, both an amazing experience. The food and drinks (and service) were incredible at both places. I would HIGHLY recommend. Garth also took into consideration that it was our friends birthday and he made it a simply unforgettable experience. We love him! Sometimes we are hesitant about eating at the restaurants at hotels/resorts, but this time I am so glad we did. Apparently this restaurant used to be known as Il postino, an italian restuarant, about 3-4 months ago. They got a new chef and now it is Mahina, and the food has like a hawaiian or polynesian influence. It was excellent, and I would go back there even if I was not staying at the resort. We sat outside on the water under the string lights hanging from the palm trees and it was beautiful!! I had the hawaiian ahi poke appetizer and it may have been the best I have ever had. First of all, the pieces of ahi tuna were huge! Secondly, the combination of the aioli, sesame oil and soy sauce was sooooo good. Mix that all together with the sweet onions on the sesame crackers and it was addicting. I want more. For a main course I had the Churrasco. It was cooked perfectly medium rare, just as I requested. The "forbidden" coconut rice was amazing and paired perfectly with the steak. It was a large portion too, about 10-12 oz. My wife had the Mahina salad and added grilled chicken. She say she thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was very good as well. The restaurant is quite pricey, but in my opinion worth it! read more
