We ate breakfast here every day during our stay and dinner one evening. The views are absolutely gorgeous and you can enjoy an amazing sunset here. The pricing is high - our dinner plates were around $70 and breakfast was around $30. Service was touch and go depending on the meal. For the price point, the service could defintely be improved. Overall if you are at the resort this is a fine meal option and all of the food was good, just very expensive for what it was.
What an experience!! My bf and I had an amazing Valentine's Day here, perfect way to close out the weekend. I really wanna give a shout out to Pedro who really looked after us to make sure we had an incredible experience. He made sure to come to our table to take the perfect picture at sunset and always came in to drop by and see how everything was tasting. The bread was warm and fresh served with whipped butter, it was the perfect amount and it tasted so good. Crab dip was amazing with the pita bread. The snapper was well seasoned served with red pepper sauce it was the perfect combination. To end the night with the cheesecake, the portion is perfect for two to share.
Stayed at the resort for the weekend and ate at this restaurant once for dinner and twice for breakfast. Breakfast was good but nothing spectacular. The first breakfast we had good service and food was good, we had the avocado toast and all American breakfast as well as mimosas and the green juice. For our second breakfast, we did not have a good experience. First of all, we had a terrible experience with the female manager who (in a terrible way) informed one of the people in our party that they couldn't order a meal off the kids menu. She just had mouth surgery and can't eat much so we didn't want to have to pay for a full meal that she wasn't going to eat all of. The reasons she gave us for not being able to order the meal were stupid and unprofessional. Our server also barely gave us a second thought. Took forever to get her attention and ask for things/the bill. We had a much better experience for dinner. Angelina was our server and she was absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience, to the point that she even let us use her own personal bug spray because we were getting attacked by mosquitos. She offered to take numerous pictures of us as the sun was setting and actually took good pictures! The food and drinks were mouth watering. Everything we ordered was sooo yummy. We really had an amazing dinner experience. And the views....at sunset are to die for!! Make sure to ask for a seat outside in the sand, under the twinkle lights.
This a review for breakfast. Parking was easy and its a short walk to the restaurant. We got seated quickly at an out door table. The view was great. They are quick to refill your water but not so quick the coffee. The food was generally very good. A few minor items that we didn't feel needed correction. My son had an undercooked poached egg and the avocado toast was more arugula than avocado, otherwise no complaints. We were a party of five and there was a 20% service charge on the bill but the usual tip percentages recommended. This wasn't explained, or noted and honestly, I couldn't be bothered to ask. Just a bit annoying. Despite these minor annoyances, the location, view, and general decent quality of the food made for a nice breakfast.
If you're in Marathon, this spot is an absolute must-visit. There's simply no better place to watch the sunset--the views are breathtaking, the atmosphere is incredible, and the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. That said, the food isn't the main attraction. It's decent, but nothing that would bring me back on its own. We all finished our meals, so it's not that anything was bad--I was just expecting more. I'd definitely return with someone who hasn't been before because the setting is that stunning, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit solo. Come for the views and ambiance--you won't be disappointed. Side note: it is a little annoying watching the sunset and people gathering near your table but what are you going to do about it??
WE are staying at Isla Bella so we did dinner one night for our anniversary and then breakfast the next day. Both times we sat on the covered patio to take in the water views. The service was great for dinner slightly slow for breakfast but I chuck it up to them being busier and rolling into the weekend. The food was delicious and when we come back we would eat here again.
I love this place but I definitely got food poisoning last night from my shrimp Alfredo dish. Such a beautiful location. Let's see if I am contacted by the restaurant.
There were multiple areas where Mahina fell flat. We originally called to update our reservation from four to five and were told that wouldn't be possible due to four-seating tables. Upon arrival we notified the restaurant of our party size increase and were seated, without issue, at a SIX-seater. Beyond that mild annoyance, the main thing we noticed was that restaurant emitted a strange odor, similar to a public restroom. The service was okay. But the food was mediocre, at best. One person in our party sent their food back because it was not prepared as requested. When the food returned, it was still prepared incorrectly. I ordered the jumbo coconut guava shrimp (app) and coconut rice (side), which came up to about $28 which was overpriced for the quality. The shrimp was under cooked and partially mushy in areas. I also ordered the butterscotch and dark chocolate lava cake which didn't flow at all. The lump crab cake was also mildly disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant was just okay overall. The food could have been much better. I ordered the lobster bisque, which was extremely salty. The crab dip was mostly cream cheese with very little crab, and the appetizer took about 30 minutes to arrive. The main entrées were very disappointing. I paid $75 for a lobster tail that was very small and came with two shrimps, literally two. To make matters worse, my lobster had a hair in it. When I asked about the portion size, they claimed the lobster was 7 oz, which honestly didn't seem accurate. They ended up bringing out a different fish for me, but it tasted like catfish. My entrée was also incorrect--I asked for jasmine rice and was served mashed potatoes instead. My husband's ribeye wasn't good either and looked very chewy. Service was inconsistent. The server would check in and then disappear for about 20 minutes at a time. Dessert (key lime pie) was okay, but I've definitely had better.
Service was nice. We came in late for breakfast but they accommodated us. The staff was helpful in recommending a good beach spot near by.
We were staying here for the week and decided to give the restaurant on the property a try since it was too stormy to venture out. We started with a salad that was delicious. Then had the seared tuna and fried snapper both of which were fantastic and gave us the taste of fish we were looking for to start our trip. The staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was a bit empty but it was a rainy Tuesday. Would definitely try if you're staying at isla Bella!
Overall the ambiance is wonderful! The patio seating is great would request beach if given option. Sunset is excellent. Service is just eh... they really tried but missed the mark on a few things. The food was also just eh ... mostly for the price you pay one expects a delicious blend of flavor not just meat and potato. The bread service they tried to be hip with beet and potato breads but just fell flat. I think the flavors just need amped up!

We were staying at Isla Bella and ate here our first night. It was suggested we make reservations. We showed up about 20 minutes ahead of the reservation and were able to get seated about 10 minutes early. We had requested outdoor seating but it was rather chilly that night so we opted for an indoor table. Outdoor seating is covered with a roof but walls are open or covered with tarp. It's a beautiful setting along the beach. The building is beautiful as well with a white, beachy decor. For dinner I had gnocchi. It came out with steam pouring from the plate. It was delicious. So good, I forgot to snap a photo before I started eating. The portion was far more than I could eat. Bread came with the meal and it was served with olive oil dipping sauce. Excellent! Prices were on the higher side. Service was uneven. For prices being on the higher side, I would have expected a higher level of service. Despite that, this was an excellent place to eat. Great dinner dining experience at Mahina. Menu is alittle pricey but what you would expect at a resort. Staff are friendly and very attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The lobster crusted Mahi presentation was beautiful. It wasn't crusted more like a clump of lobster on top of a Mahi filet that didn't have any seasoning. The desserts were delicous! There was live music and we sat around a fire pit overlooking the water afterwards. Beautiful resort and very relaxing space! read more

This beautiful hotel and restaurant recently opened so there are some service issues but don't let this dissuade you. Just be patient. Mozzarella appetizers were good, my favorite was the pesto. Don't know why they don't serve bread with it but when we asked they brought it. The un-wedge salad was also good. I had the shrimp alfredo which I normally don't get because it's too rich. This wasn't the case here. Just enough sauce and not overboard. Good stuff. I split the grouper with the wife and it was excellent. Great crust and sauce. Our friends had the spaghetti and meatballs which was delicious. There wine list is limited but the bar made a great apple martini. Pizzas look really good. Day 2 breakfast. I had the shrimp eggs benedict. Cooked as ordered and very tasty. I liked the avoid spread with it. The wife went healthy and had egg whites with apple chicken sausage. Our friend had the omelette. Good food, hot coffee, and the view!! read more

This place was so good we went here twice. Both times we sat on the patio and had the most amazing wait staff! First night we had Michelle and she was a delight, very knowledgeable about the drink pairings, and even made the girls their first Shirley temples, which they loved having "fancy" drinks. The second night we had Gabriel, super friendly and knew a lot of out the food and what was best. The whole fish was so good and fun to eat, and the aioli with it was just so flavorful. The steak was amazing, the rock lobster that was the special both nights was HUGE ( the girls really got a kick out of seeing their dad eat a whole lobster, which they thought looked like an alien bug) the bread was great, wine selection was vast, and the desserts!!! The pasta though had to have been all of our collective favorite. read more

Spectacular hotel, very spacious and clean rooms, very good service. unfortunately the food is really low level. Tuna "Tartare" is made out of minced tuna that they probably use for their maki rolls at the beach. The pizza is basically a dough with a can of tomato sauce and some slices of mozzarella. The whole food was a mess. I hope it was just a bad night because we love the hotel but will not be back until the food change This illustrates what looks like the pizza ... read more

The most beautiful restaurant I've ever been to! We had dinner on the beach, and watched the most beautiful sunset that I had ever seen! Surama was great and took pictures of my husband and me. We were surprised with key lime pie at the end of our meal. Food was great quality, and we loved the fish. read more

We were fortunate enough to eat here while Robertas had a pop up pizza place as well as Il Postino's regular menu. My pizza was fantastic. I've been too lazy to trek out to brooklyn to go to the original Robertas, but I assume this is just as good. Perfectly baked and assembled. My wife got the mahi-mahi. The server was very gracious in her substitution offers since my wife is dairy free. The fish was awesome, as were the sides of sauteed mushrooms and zucchini. We ate outside. You must wear a mask indoors until you're seated. read more

Food was really good. Not quite great but really good. What you are paying for is the view. It's impressive. Almost breathtaking. It was hot but we got unlucky with no breeze. Nice service. Expensive but not ridiculous. Seafood pasta was good. Pork chop was great. Korean ribs Kalbi were great. Lobster encrusted mahi was almost great. Trim the bloodline and it would have been amazing. Drinks were good. We recommend for the experience. Hard to beat eating good food with this view. Ok. So desserts were surprisingly fantastic. Literally made us change it to 5 stars. Pineapple upside down, chocolate flourless cake, and key lime were truly fantastic. The key lime will put hair on your chest! Make sure to share. read more
First time trying Mahina which is inside the brand new Isla Bella Resort. Wow is a good word to start. The view and ambiance was amazing as water is all around the property. The outdoor bar has great seats and views of the water along with some delicious drink options. We finally broke ourself away from the bar to go inside for dinner. There are also a lot of outdoor tables for dinning some almost right on the beach. Tina was our waitress inside and she did an amazing job with our group of 7. We started with the Huli Huli Chicken flat bread and Hawaiian style ahi poke. Both were outstanding. Dinner had a lot of great choices(see picture of menus) but we went with the Seafood Pasta which was: Mahi-Mahi, Whole Shrimp, Manila Clams, Spicy Coconut Tomato Broth, Fresh Herbs, Squid Ink Pasta, Sweet Basil for $36.00 and the Hoisin Chicken: Hoisin Glaze, Garlic-Edamame Potato, Baby Bok Choy, Guava Sauce for $38. Both were excellent. Two of our group had the swordfish special and raved about it. We finished the night with upside down pineapple cake. Yes, it was amazing as well. While this is certainly not an inexpensive place to eat, the locations, views (lots of beautiful water) service and food choice made it a special night and worth every penny. read more

Was skeptical about coming here at first thinking it couldn't be that great but was pleasantly surprised! The dinner we had at Mahina was one of my favorites during our stay in the keys! For dinner, the waiter suggested the clams which were awesome, the sauce was fantastic. The bread basket was simple but delicious. For the main entrees, we got the churrasco and sushi special, both were delicious. Again, was very surprised that the sushi was great at a restaurant that doesn't primarily specialize in sushi! For dessert we selected the chocolate cake, a great way to finish the night. The next morning of our stay we liked mahina so much we got breakfast there which was delicious as well. Overall, the prices are fair for a nice resort, and the service is great. Loved our experience here! read more

A lot on the menu but also weird options.Being on the resort you kind of have to choose this restaurant since there is no other choice.I feel like they should have more basic options to so you can't go wrong with that.For example how many people choose ink pasta.The breakfast was a little bit better.But dinner was just so hard to find something normal to eat. read more

The view when you are eating outside is priceless the service that Tiffany provided is top tier definitely it is a place worth visiting and coming back to. The pineapple upside cake with vanilla ice cream was fantastic. Delicious food and great service you won't be disappointed. read more

We stayed at Isla Bella for four nights over the Christmas holiday. We ate at Il Postino twice and at the outdoor bar/restaurant once. Set your expectations, this is not quick dinning. However, grab a drink and enjoy the view, the sunset is worth the wait. The bread, pizza, calamari, cauliflower (vegan meal)coconut shrimp, meatballs and spring rolls were our favorites. As mentioned, they need to work on their pasta and white sauces. They lack flavor. Key lime ice cream, key lime tart and tiramisu were also big hits. Delicious! During our stay, everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, especially the Manager, Justin. This resort is 8 months old, the property is beautiful but has some adjustments to make. Seeing Justin in action, I'm sure that the resort will make necessary changes. They had a tough time getting food served quickly, especially with the large Christmas crowd. Our surroundings were so beautiful and we were in relax-mode so we didn't mind. Our table service at I'll Postino, for my birthday, was on point. House did a great job. Definitely make a reservation, we couldn't have gotten a table if we didn't have one! We look forward to returning to the resort and I'll Postino! read more

If you ever decide to take a trip to the Keys definitely check out Il Postino located inside the Isla Bella Beach Resort in Marathon. We got to the resort late so my son and I decided to stay on site. Ruben was our waiter and he was awesome! The service was really good. We started with the meatball appetizer which was so good! I could have eaten that along with the yummy bread they brought to the table. I had the beef tenderloin for dinner. It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was very good. Definitely a good piece of beef! My son had the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. He loved every bite. I washed my dinner down with a Strawberry Rhubarb martini. If it wouldn't have been $15 I probably would have gotten another one. I ended the night with their Flourless Chocolate Cake. Nothing but rich dark chocolate that made me do a happy dance . It was a great way to kick off my week long Christmas vacation. read more

If you're looking for a nice, quiet breakfast Mahina is your place. We simply told the gate guard that we wanted to go to the restaurant and he kindly let us know where to go. From there just follow the signs to the restaurant. The ambiance of this place is perfect. The water is magnificent. We sat next to it because why not. The food was really good, and high quality. We even sea turtles and manatees!! Totally worth every penny! read more

IL Postino is the best Italian food in the keys hands down! Service is always wonderful but if you get a chance ask for House(not a typo) he was great accommodating my wife and I for our anniversary and is very knowledgeable about the area and menu. read more

We had such a great meal served by Garth who is provided exceptional service throughout our meal. We started with one of the specials, stone crabs (not pictured). If you have been to Miami's Joe's Stone Crab, I promise you these were 1000x better. The key lime mustard sauce that came with it was exquisite. My boyfriend and I shared the spicy seafood linguine and beef tenderloin for our mains which were also amazing. The restaurant is also right on the beach, a gorgeous view for sunset.
