We stayed at one of the villas for my friend's bachelorette party & had a great time! The villa was beautiful and spacious. All the employees were kind and we loved how they had a golf cart system where they pick you up to take you to the other parts of the resort. We had so much fun at the beautiful pool area, they even have paddle boarding/kayaking for free which was fun! The drinks and food were good too at the tiki bar. So much to do here and beautiful and clean. They also have a dolphin rehab center attached. You can swim with the dolphins. We also did their boat tour with snorkeling, which was amazing and the captains were fun and personable! Would stay here again!

My family and I come here every year in the summer during father day weekend. We have the best time, we stay in a house, rent a boat/jetski, have beach/pool day! The location is great with good restaurants on property. They have a private little beach too.

    Beautiful sunset view!

We come to Hawk cay resort every year and we love it ! We stay in the villas with the best view ! Also have to say staff is soo friendly and Bartender Jacob is the best love his vibe !!!!

I booked this resort using their teacher promotion to treat my family to a quiet post Memorial Day break. I'd stayed here before and had a great experience, but this visit was disappointing from the start. Check-in was chaotic, only one luggage cart for a packed resort. We waited 20 minutes outside just to get our bags in. The room was clean and well-maintained (props to the housekeeping team), but the noise from the neighboring room was unacceptable. Our neighbor blasted music for hours, and although the front desk was responsive at first, the issue persisted until we had to request a room change. The new room was better, and we enjoyed the pool and beach, until a rude staff member at the towel check targeted me over my green water bottle, despite no previous issues. Her aggressive tone and lack of professionalism stood out in what should have been a relaxing environment. Rules should be enforced consistently, not selectively by the color of someone's skin as I noticed others were allowed THEIR glass bottles around the pool. I would add that front desk/ management did not really follow up with us and only gave us drink tickets as a consolation even though we clearly said we didn't want them because we don't drink. Even nonalcoholic drinks, we stick to water due to health issues. Safety is also a concern; the balcony railings in the main building are not secure for small children, and there's a general lack of oversight when it comes to guest well-being. ( video attached ) Dining at the resort and surrounding areas is overpriced and underwhelming. Expect to pay $15 for a basic breakfast sandwich you can get at any surrounding restaurants for 1/3 of the price. Do yourself a favor and drive a few minutes on US-1 to support local mom-and-pop restaurants where the food is fresher and more affordable. Bottom line: this resort is inconsistent, overpriced, and poorly managed. There are better, safer, and more respectful places to spend your money specially as an overworked teacher. Lastly , their AI agent on the phone never rang the doorman when asked, I shouldn't have to go downstairs to ask them since they have this automated now?

We came for a semi-relaxing birthday stay-cation - I say semi cause we had a toddler with us. Haha. Upon arrival, staff were extremely friendly. Had a wonderful conversation with the gift shop manager as she awaited her departure while my spouse checked in. You have the option to self park or valet. We came during what I believe what their "off season" - the place had low occupancy and was not very busy, which was nice. In the main lobby they have a convenience style store for quick snacks to purchase along with a pop-up bar. They have ample cold water marinated in fresh fruit for self service. They have a variety of pools in different locations that are accessible. They had an amazing kids water park area that my son loved! Every pool we went to had an area for you to pickup towels. The rooms were very nice and spacious. The bathroom layout was designed very well - ample vanity space, many wall hooks to hang towels and bathing suits. Bathroom stall separated with a door for extra privacy. A nice size balcony with the garden view. Now, why did I knock a few stars? The ice machine was not working on our floor. There was a constant drilling like sound that came from the bathroom. I initially thought it was a broken exhaust fan, but it never stopped even when off. There was a blood stain drip on the bathroom wall. They didn't have a microwave anywhere on the premises to warm up a bottle of milk for my child. They have a market at the entrance of the property that was supposed to have one, but when we drove over there, it was closed and looked under construction. The least of my favorite - I sat outside on the balcony to journal while the boys napped and there was a constant dump truck reverse beeping the entire time I was out there so it wasn't fully relaxing as the sounds of a construction site was next door. Overall, I would still return as we really enjoyed the heated pool and kids pool area. I would just ensure to ask to have a room not near the construction site.

I have always wanted to come to Hawk's Cay and finally made it for a weekend. The check-in process and arrival day did not meet expectations to the point that I just wanted to check out and leave, however, we ended up staying because of difficulties canceling our room. Upon Check in there were three people at the check-in counter, no one giving us attention. We were finally tended to and told we would be called when our room became available. We were given a $50 credit From my credit card company. I decided to go to the bar and hang out a bit to pass some time and enjoy the amenities. I'm going to the bar. I was told that I cannot use my credit because we had not had a room assigned. That was the first disappointment. We were then served a horrible drink full of mixerat a whopping $25 lol second sign that I was not happy. The resort is a lot smaller than I anticipated lots of families and dogs, which was not a bother but just an observation. We finally received a room around 3:15 PM. The building is very nice, rooms were spacious and very comfortable with a nice porch to the adult pool. The pool could use some cleaning everyones lotion bubbled up to one side and to make matters worse they ran out of towels!!!! We ended up getting a resort credit but this was not the luxury resort I anticipated. Adult pool bar closes at 5pm on a friday!!! The place is nice but not what I hoped for or imagined. The restaurant salt and ash was amazing.

We stayed in room #3104 in August 2025. I complained to the front desk and sent emails, with no response. The resort is disgusting and the rooms even worse. Would never stay here again and I do not recommend it!

    Dated hallways and rooms
    Michelle A.

I really wanted to like this place but outside the lobby rooms are dated. Talking with others at the pool no one had hot water for showers. Rooms felt grimy. For the price you pay I just don't see the value. We paid $9 for a milk in the lobby. It's a little much on the price with low value. Lots of dogs barking late at night in rooms.

Update - the AC was the next to go out. However, Bradley, the manager, quickly stepped in and fixed things. They moved us to a much better unit and deducted one night from our bill. I do recommend Hawks Cay but not all units are well kept by the owners. Each villa is privately owned. Just checked in and that went fine but we were told we had a water view on a lagoon. Actually we have a view if the pool and a run down marina. The unit is clean but dated. The room with 2 twins is so small that you can't have a bedside table. We really wanted to relax by the water but that's not going to happen. Hopefully the beds are comfortable. The TV is fuzzy and the fridge doesn't get anything really cold. I'll update after the stay.

The fence extends underwater confining the Dolphins to the small swim area
    Lucy S.

The rooms were very nice but had a strong chemical smell from the floor cleaner, which was sticky on the floor. I booked the resort for the lagoon and dolphins....the lagoon was small and just okay. The Dolphins swim area was too small and they were confined to it. I saw the dolphins swimming around at night in the compact area. The next day I watched them interact with the people on the tours, I decided not to pay to interact with the dolphins as they seemed sad and forced to be there. The food options at the resort were great.

    Fish sucked into the pump

Went with family. Our stay started with a self tour, 2 men were fighting in the adult pool area. One person got a cockroach in her room, then stated there was a notice that their room cups weren't sanitized up to hotel standards. My room was better but the tv remote (1 of 2) didn't work- why include it if it's not supposed to be used? Body wash and shampoo were empty and broken. Both were refilled and replaced. The hot water in our bathroom didn't work because the entire building was having issues with the water heater...Like I said, The place is nice. Seems like they are having a hard time getting the details right. Even the fish in the tank at the entrance were sucked in the tube and clearly not well taken care of. For a 4-star hotel and the price we paid I'd expect more care in every detail.

We were delighted in so many ways. We stayed in the Fighting Conch Cottage. It is situated on the man-made beach. There are 3 cottages like this. View is spectacular. The grounds are so relaxing and they have free paddle boards and kayaks (most places in Keys charge extra). Plenty of parking. All of the other cottages seemed quaint as did the pool area. I have never been so relaxed. I slept for 4 hours under the thatch roof on the first day. For tourists: Remember that the Florida Keys are rock islands. You won't get a white sand beach. That is the norm. Any beach is man-made in the Keys. The same goes for here. The beach is man-made but very nice. It is grassy in the water. This is normal for the Keys. The nearest food is about a 12-15 minute drive to Marathon. We loved being this secluded but do know that you'll have a short little jaunt for food. We will definitely be back.

As Hilton Gold members, we were fortunate to receive a small room upgrade at booking, which we definitely appreciated. Let me start with the highlights the resort amenities are wonderful, especially for families. There were plenty of complimentary activities for kids during the day, and even fun nighttime events like dancing that were adorable and well thought out. It truly felt family-friendly, and there was always something going on to keep everyone entertained. The cutest was Santa pics with cookies and milk! The staff was attentive and kind throughout our stay, and honestly, that goes a long way. Great service can elevate an entire experience, and they really delivered on that front. That said, at nearly $1,000 per night during peak season, I did expect the facilities and rooms to be in better condition. The property has so much potential, but parts of it felt a bit rundown for the price point. The rooms could use some attention and deeper cleaning. I completely understand that this is a beachfront resort and sand is inevitable however we noticed quite a bit of sand throughout the room, even on the bed when it had been freshly made. I've stayed at other beach resorts where housekeeping was a bit more thorough in that regard. However nothing crazy but cleanliness is big in my book. One morning, there was also a cockroach at the coffee cart. My husband reported it right away to the front desk. The next few mornings the cart wasn't out, and I'm assuming they were addressing the situation, which I appreciate but it was still a bit off-putting. The on-site restaurants were good not extraordinary, but enjoyable and I felt the pricing there was fair considering it's a resort property. Overall, we had a great experience. The resort has incredible potential, and with a little more attention to upkeep especially considering the premium nightly rate it could easily be a five-star stay. The friendly staff and activities made a big difference.

Total rip off for what you get. We have stayed at Hiltons in 16 countries including the Grand Wailea Maui and have never seen these types of numbers. 10+ years as a Diamond with Hilton and this is a shameful experience. It would be different if the rooms made up for it but they are no better than a redone drive up motel as it is noisy all night long with halls open to the parking lot.

We chose to rent and drive from the airport because we had a trip to Key West planned. It's about a 90 minute drive from the airport so, an Uber would have been pretty costly. The valet takes care of your luggage and places it on a golf cart while you check in. The check in process took about 10 min. The front desk staff wasn't super friendly but they weren't rude either. They are supposed to offer you a drink, but we were not offered one by our receptionist while the couple next to us were offered one. No biggie. One thing to note: when you book, 50% is due. Then the other 50% is due thirty days prior to your arrival if you switch your source of payment, they charge you 10%. That same card has do be used for gratuity or add ons. Keep this in mind when you plan. Also, they put a $100/day hold on your card when you check in. After check in, the valet takes you on a tour of the property and then brings you to your room. You'll want to have cash for gratuity for the valet. The Bungalows themselves are gorgeous and offer an outdoor area and outdoor shower. I don't think the beach view bungalows are worth the upgrade. After that, you're on your own for the most part. They schedule your dinner, but other than Bogie and Bacall, they are pretty flexible. Fish Tales is the main restaurant. They offer a four course meal. The food was great. I wouldn't say "amazing" but really well done. The service is impeccable. This is an all inclusive bur gratuity isn't included. This was annoying and probably my biggest complaint. At the end of your meal you are handed a check of all you consumed with a recommend range of gratuity. You put in what you want to leave and sign it and leave. The issue is, it's hard to keep track of how much you're spending. So if you're on a budget, that can be a problem. At night everyone gathers around the tiki bar to enjoy the entertainment. There is only one bad and it fills quickly. The bartenders are also filling drink orders for the pool, and in some situations, Sea Seniors next door. You can also order food at the tiki bar if you choose. It's basic bar food and pizza but quite delicious. There is live entertainment daily from 11-11. There was trivia one night, and karaoke another. But there were no real events offered. In the mornings everyone heads to Fishtales for breakfast. There is a good variety of choices, including a buffet. They do not change it up at all though. So it can get a little boring day after day. They also have a mimosa and bloody Mary self serve bar. Pro tip, bring your own yeti and take two plastic cups of minosa and some ice and put them in your yeti for the pool. There are no drinks served until 11 am at the pool which was pretty odd in my opinion. The tiki bar also doesn't open until 11. It was off season but I will say that the pool didn't really get busy. There are two pools. Ok is a zen pool with little cabana beds. It's more quiet there but the main pool was described as the party pool and he was really chill too. There are about 12 pairs of lounge chairs and umbrellas and two big cabanas with couches. It didn't seem like there would be enough but it ended up to be plenty. We w They have servers come around the pool but it takes quite a bit to get your drinks so pack your patience. They also give you a bill at the end with what you ordered and suggested gratuity. It was easy to forget and just leave so I hated this process. I would have rather been charged a daily gratuity to be split between the staff but that's not what they want to do. Bogie and Bacalls: you get a free night there if you stay for more than 4 days. If you don't it's $300 plus gratuity. This was their high end restaurant and it wand spectacular! You get a ton of food and premium drinks. Expect to tip about $100 here. There is an indoor bar/speakeasy called Hemingways. This is not included in your stay. It's premium cocktails and liquor. There is also the "Family Room" which is a giant indoor/outdoor game room. There are no servers there. If you have a yeti, you could grab a few drinks from the tiki bar and keep it cold. There is a huge TV so we were able to watch the USA game on it with a few other guests. I chose to get a massage. It's a beautiful area of the park but there's no way that 50 min massage was worth $300 + 22% gratuity. They offer water activities. No one was using them. There are some other ads ons but very few guests chose to do them. Overall this is a wonderful, very chill spot and I can see why many guest come back year after year. I wish there were more dining and bar options, and more events offered. The cost was pretty high for what they offer. But we had an amazing time and I'm so glad we did it!

Check in was quick, and very friendly with recommendations. Our room was on the second floor again, this time an ocean front and wow - it's worth it. We had the courtyard view last time and it's also a very pretty view - you can't lose. The pool area and bar is so wonderful - very scenic, and the service at the bar is great. They have a great menu for lunch options that they bring out to you. The room was very clean, modern, and spacious. You can request a microwave if you need too! There are bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks for rental for free. Lots of things going on in between the three resorts - we wish we'd had a chance to try the yoga! We will be back for years to come.

After 3 days my wife had to threaten the front desk staff with using towels to wipe her ass if the maids didn't restock the toilet paper in our room. Totally unacceptable for a resort. They kept assuring us the rooms service maids were coming in daily, but they never did until she threatened to come down and make a scene. The staff seemed unmotivated to complete even the basic cleaning tasks. We only asked for two coffee k cups, clean towels and the two room garbage cans to be emptied on a daily basis. That was just too demanding and the staff tried to mean-mug us when we came and went but finally got it done for the final two days of our visit. I'd advise you visit another property because the service is nonexistent and a total disappointment. Their on site restaurant was a joke as well. Completely overpriced and out of touch given the location. Every other restaurant we visited in the area was excellent, but theirs was almost always empty. The menu was way overpriced and there were countless local options that were much better and less expensive. Nearly all the staff on site see to be unwilling to provide service to customers and displaying a shitty attitude overall. Leadership changes need to take place or this property will crumble. Good location, just bad service with inadequate leadership supervision.
