The Bungalows felt like a piece of Paradise. When you first arrive, you are greeted by valet staff. Parking is free if you brought a car. We chose to rent and drive from the airport because we had a trip to Key West planned. It's about a 90 minute drive from the airport so, an Uber would have been pretty costly. The valet takes care of your luggage and places it on a golf cart while you check in. The check in process took about 10 min. The front desk staff wasn't super friendly but they weren't rude either. They are supposed to offer you a drink, but we were not offered one by our receptionist while the couple next to us were offered one. No biggie. One thing to note: when you book, 50% is due. Then the other 50% is due thirty days prior to your arrival if you switch your source of payment, they charge you 10%. That same card has do be used for gratuity or add ons. Keep this in mind when you plan. Also, they put a $100/day hold on your card when you check in. After check in, the valet takes you on a tour of the property and then brings you to your room. You'll want to have cash for gratuity for the valet. The Bungalows themselves are gorgeous and offer an outdoor area and outdoor shower. I don't think the beach view bungalows are worth the upgrade. After that, you're on your own for the most part. They schedule your dinner, but other than Bogie and Bacall, they are pretty flexible. Fish Tales is the main restaurant. They offer a four course meal. The food was great. I wouldn't say "amazing" but really well done. The service is impeccable. This is an all inclusive bur gratuity isn't included. This was annoying and probably my biggest complaint. At the end of your meal you are handed a check of all you consumed with a recommend range of gratuity. You put in what you want to leave and sign it and leave. The issue is, it's hard to keep track of how much you're spending. So if you're on a budget, that can be a problem. At night everyone gathers around the tiki bar to enjoy the entertainment. There is only one bad and it fills quickly. The bartenders are also filling drink orders for the pool, and in some situations, Sea Seniors next door. You can also order food at the tiki bar if you choose. It's basic bar food and pizza but quite delicious. There is live entertainment daily from 11-11. There was trivia one night, and karaoke another. But there were no real events offered. In the mornings everyone heads to Fishtales for breakfast. There is a good variety of choices, including a buffet. They do not change it up at all though. So it can get a little boring day after day. They also have a mimosa and bloody Mary self serve bar. Pro tip, bring your own yeti and take two plastic cups of minosa and some ice and put them in your yeti for the pool. There are no drinks served until 11 am at the pool which was pretty odd in my opinion. The tiki bar also doesn't open until 11. It was off season but I will say that the pool didn't really get busy. There are two pools. Ok is a zen pool with little cabana beds. It's more quiet there but the main pool was described as the party pool and he was really chill too. There are about 12 pairs of lounge chairs and umbrellas and two big cabanas with couches. It didn't seem like there would be enough but it ended up to be plenty. We w They have servers come around the pool but it takes quite a bit to get your drinks so pack your patience. They also give you a bill at the end with what you ordered and suggested gratuity. It was easy to forget and just leave so I hated this process. I would have rather been charged a daily gratuity to be split between the staff but that's not what they want to do. Bogie and Bacalls: you get a free night there if you stay for more than 4 days. If you don't it's $300 plus gratuity. This was their high end restaurant and it wand spectacular! You get a ton of food and premium drinks. Expect to tip about $100 here. There is an indoor bar/speakeasy called Hemingways. This is not included in your stay. It's premium cocktails and liquor. There is also the "Family Room" which is a giant indoor/outdoor game room. There are no servers there. If you have a yeti, you could grab a few drinks from the tiki bar and keep it cold. There is a huge TV so we were able to watch the USA game on it with a few other guests. I chose to get a massage. It's a beautiful area of the park but there's no way that 50 min massage was worth $300 + 22% gratuity. They offer water activities. No one was using them. There are some other ads ons but very few guests chose to do them. Overall this is a wonderful, very chill spot and I can see why many guest come back year after year. I wish there were more dining and bar options, and more events offered. The cost was pretty high for what they offer. But we had an amazing time and I'm so glad we did it! read more

This place was wonderful in many ways -the property, the bungalows, the staff - but could be so much better. You pay TOP DOLLAR per night (over $1650 for us) yet that is not enough money as far as management is concerned. It starts when you arrive. If you show up before 4PM, you either pay an additional $300 to use the property or you sit in the lobby and wait. They justify and defend the policy vehemently in review after review - pointing out you have to agree to this when registering but they are MISSING THE POINT! This is a horrible first impression and one they need to fix by sliding scale this fee or adding it to the price. Then, after every meal they give you a "bill", not for the all-inclusive and paid for food, but to TIP THE SERVER anywhere from $10 to $30 as suggested based on meal. They don't pay living wages so expect the guests to cover the shortfall. Food was okay as an all-inclusive - needed another restaurant, say a quality Italian spot because the pasta choices I ate were not good. For the cost of a bungalow, you can find resorts that are more accommodating, gracious, and guest-focused. Until the management culture changes to become more customer focused and less profit focused, and they fix these issues, it's not worth the money. read more

My fiancé booked this trip for my birthday. It was absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful lobby. Very friendly and professional service from every person who works there. We had a bungalow that was beach front and it was really beautiful. We loved sitting on our little porch and just enjoying the views. The quiet side of the beach (where our bungalow was located) had really nice ambiance. There are sun chairs everywhere. Beautiful string lights and tiki torches for night time. Outdoor beach beds with curtains and lounge beds with visors you can pull down. The bungalow itself has an indoor shower and also an outdoor soaking tub and shower. You get your own bikes to ride around the property. The air conditioning was very good. The sheets were lovely. Everything was clean and in good working order. It also felt very private. We loved the breakfast buffet. The fruit and pastries were our favorites. We also loved Bogey and Bacall's. We didn't love Sea Senor's as much, although it was really fun and beautiful eating right by the beach. The food was just a bit bland. Another thing that I didn't fully realize until we got there was that there isn't a traditional beach. There is sand but it is lined by a rocky coast. You can swim in the ocean and you access it by stairs. So that is something to keep in mind. The pools were lovely and clean. But they could be bigger and maybe have like a water feature or something to improve the ambiance. The pools all close at sunset. Which also was a bit of a bummer and we weren't sure why. But we enjoyed swimming in them. We also didn't realize that seating around the pool is limited and if we wanted to have chairs by the pool, we'd have to get there early and save seats. The spa was incredible. We got a couples massage and it was one of the best massages I have ever had. Definitely recommend going there and treating yourself. Overall our experience was wonderful and romantic and relaxing. The only thing that prevents me from wanting to go back is not having a traditional beach where you can just walk into the ocean and swim. But if that isn't a priority for you, this place is absolutely wonderful! read more

My wife and I stayed at Bungalows Key Largo for our honeymoon. We chose this resort because of its reputation and premium price point, expecting a truly exceptional experience. While there were definitely positives, the overall experience fell short because of how guest concerns were handled. The property itself is beautiful. The grounds are well maintained, the food was generally very good, and we enjoyed many of the amenities. There were several employees who were friendly and helpful, and there are aspects of the resort that deserve praise. Unfortunately, our biggest issue began the very first night. The ceiling fan in our bungalow made a loud clicking noise throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. The following day, I called the front desk and was told maintenance would come right over. After waiting approximately 30 minutes, nobody arrived. I called again later that evening, and maintenance eventually came out. The solution was disappointing. Tape was placed around the fan's light fixture as a temporary fix, and we were told that if the noise returned after 11 PM, we could tap on the fixture ourselves. During a honeymoon stay at a luxury resort, that is not the level of service I expected. The issue affected our first two nights. There were other smaller concerns as well. The toilet in our bungalow frequently required multiple flushes. Poolside cabana service felt inefficient, with one server covering a large area and a manual ordering process that often resulted in long waits. We also expected more beach access than the property actually offers. What ultimately disappointed me most was the lack of service recovery. At checkout, I specifically asked to speak with a manager about our experience. Rather than speaking with me directly, messages were relayed through the front desk. No apology was offered, and the conversation felt defensive. I was told maintenance believed the issue had been resolved, despite the fact that it had affected multiple nights of our stay. I wasn't demanding compensation--I simply wanted my concerns acknowledged and to have a direct conversation. Additionally, when we requested bellhop assistance at checkout, we waited approximately 15 minutes before having to call the front desk again to follow up. Luxury resorts aren't judged by whether something goes wrong; they're judged by how they respond when it does. Maintenance issues can happen anywhere. What disappointed us was the lack of communication, ownership, and genuine concern after those issues were reported. Overall, we enjoyed parts of our honeymoon, but given the premium price we paid, the experience did not meet expectations. First time guest, and I enjoyed my stay despite the crazy winds we encountered the entire time. We were warmly greeted and did enter "fantasy island" as another yelper called it. Our jungle bungalow was ready and was very nice. The room is a nice size, the Adirondack chairs out front are a nice touch and used immensely, the outside area was nice and sheltered from the wind except that we had to share it with a green iguana? He scared me greatly when I moved a couch cushion. The outside shower and tub were enjoyable and I felt privacy was perfect. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and lush and having bikes available all the time was a plus. The pools are great and all the restaurants served tasty food. The bartenders made great drinks and the live music was enjoyable. We were looking for a nice escape and this place fit the bill. Unfortunately the wind was such that we couldn't kayak or paddle board. Even sitting at the pool was chilly due to winds. If it had been nice, water activities would have been abundant. So many positives, but let me point out a few negatives. 1). Although they say no pets, there were two couples with small dogs. I have allergies and never expected that a dog could have been staying in my room. The front desk said service dogs only...these were not service dogs. 2). Guests placing items on lounge chairs at the pools and not using the chairs for hours is a huge gripe for me. We showed up at 10:30 am both days and not an empty lounge chair in sight and only a few had guests in them, the rest were "saved" with personal items. I do wish they would just add tips to the total balance so you wouldn't have to deal with waiting for a check and deciding on a tip. Will definitely return. read more

Service was very good. Food was good. Room was okay. Thermostat reset itself twice (and froze) during the 3 nights we were there, and the outdoor tub was regularly pooped in by iguanas in the trees above. Definitely not worth the money. Our last evening there, my husband and I were lounging in a hammock near our room when we were asked to leave by an employee because two other guests wanted to renew their vows where the hammocks were. We were told it would only be an hour but nothing was put back that evening and no advance notice was given. I really want to love this place because it truly is a beautiful oasis! The setting and location are incredible. However, the service unfortunately did not match the environment. The staff came across as uninviting and unfriendly, which was disappointing given the atmosphere the place is trying to create. I made a very simple request to move one table over closer to the water. The table hadn't been occupied, and I even offered to wait for it to be cleaned, but I was met with resistance and made to feel uncomfortable for even asking. It turned what should have been a special experience into a frustrating one. Additionally, I was surprised by the lack of flexibility with basic things, like not being able to bring leftovers or drinks back to the room that I had already paid for. Small moments like these really impact the overall experience. There is so much potential here because the space itself is stunning, but the level of hospitality and attitude from staff needs improvement to match it. read more

Horrible!!! A fan bolted to the bungalow outerwall kept us up all night 2 times. I complained the first night and maintenance said they fixed the problem, they did not!!! Complained again, they did nothing. Finally on my vacation I located the problem and disconnected the fan. GM did absolutely nothing to help us or compensate us, Will never go to this place again. Our stay was a total top notch five star experience!!!!!! We definitely feel like we got total value for the money spent An employee named KJ was awesome and very professional yet still very friendly. He transported us to and from our vehicle and bungalow and also dropped off some very important documents we requested from the office that they printed off of an email we forwarded. It seemed like he was at our door with them almost as soon as we hung up. Our room attendant Moe was very kind and attentive to every possible need we had. My Wife is usually not comfortable off the bat with people But she felt like Moe and KJ gave off a Friendly vibe that let her relax, while still being totally attentive and professional They did everything in their power to make sure we had the most relaxing stay possible. Hubby surprised me with a trip for our twentieth anniversary. If anyone remembers "welcome to fantasy island" where the entire resort was enclosed? That's what it is like. It's secluded and very beautiful. The staff were very nice from check in to check out. The room is modern beach chic and set up very well. Bed was comfortable and we had an outdoor shower and tub which was secluded. The body and hair products are amazing!! The jacuzzi was large and comfortable. There are two cruiser bikes to use but we didn't as the property isn't that large. The property is very clean and well maintained. Very relaxing and the weather was beautiful. The resort was not sold out. I would say anywhere from 70-80% full. The pool is clean and pretty and the pool chaises are comfortable thanks to the thick cushions. The entertainment daily was severely lacking as they sounded like bad casino singers. The same island Muzak played everyday. Vacationing patrons consisted of young honeymooners to our age and older. It would have been nice to have a variety of music by the pool to liven things up a bit and maybe get staff to engage more with maybe games such as limbo at the pool. I think tips would be much better for them. I would also recommend maybe a little area to dance in the evening. There were a few activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding, boat rentals, sunset cruise which are extra. We didn't choose to do any of those. Food was good at each outlet but lacking in good desserts. Would also have liked to have been able to take lunch to the pool for a little variety so unless you want the same pool fare everyday......Our last night, we had dinner at Bogie & Bacall. The filet was hands down one of the best I have had.. The Hemingway bar is attached and the bartenders were efficient in handling everyone. The large open living room is directly across. Some suggestions would be to take part of the living room and make it a cigar area. The bar has an extensive bourbon menu and I think the guys would appreciate that. Do not even consider ordering room service as it is 3x more expensive, approximately $42 for a burger. If you are looking for an all inclusive, low key, quiet, secluded, resort atmosphere, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a little more variety, you might be a bit bored. I am extremely disappointed with our experience at The Bungalows in Islamorada, especially given the premium rates this property charges. Upon check-in, our room had a strong smell of fresh paint fumes. The odor was overwhelming and made it impossible for me to sleep. I began reporting the issue at 4:00 a.m., and as of 10:30 a.m., nothing had been properly resolved. I personally spoke with Asia and Jocelyn at the front desk, and my husband spoke directly with the manager, Mrs. Cyntia Costa. This is not a minor inconvenience -- it is a health issue. I developed a migraine and did not sleep at all due to the fumes. Despite this, I received an email stating that the room had been inspected and "smelled fine." That statement is simply not accurate. Two maintenance staff members and several employees entered the room and acknowledged that the paint fumes were present. In the hospitality industry, especially at this price point, you would expect management to be forthcoming, accommodating, and solution-oriented -- not dismissive or unwilling to take accountability. At a minimum, the appropriate resolution would be to upgrade us to a proper room and refund the night affected. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this property. read more

Beautiful property, disappointing leadership My husband and I, along with our daughter and her husband, stayed in two waterfront bungalows. There is a lot to love here -- the property is stunning, the food is excellent, the rooms are immaculate and well-designed, and most of the service staff (bellmen, servers, housekeeping) were consistently warm and helpful. The setting and amenities should make this a 5-star experience. Unfortunately, the management and leadership culture hold this resort back from being worth the price. Throughout our stay we experienced inflexibility and a lack of true hospitality from management. When we attempted to speak with managers on three different occasions, no one ever followed up. There's a noticeable resistance to going "one step further" for guests -- especially surprising at this price point for an all-inclusive. For example: Checkout is 11:00am and our driver wasn't arriving until noon. Our first call to the front desk was essentially to vacate the property. It took three separate calls (from me, my daughter, and my husband) before anyone even attempted to offer a solution, and by that point it felt dramatic and dismissive. We ended up leaving to wait at a restaurant instead. Not the ending you expect from a luxury stay. On New Year's Eve the temperature dropped 35 degrees and festivities remained outdoors; no creative plan, no pivot to protect guests' comfort. We ultimately ordered room service and celebrated in our bungalow instead. It feels like a top-down issue -- a lack of training and leadership that trickles down to otherwise wonderful staff. You can sense the difference between employees who want to help and a system that ties their hands. The spa in particular was poorly staffed and lacked the warmth or professionalism expected at this level. For the cost of an oceanfront bungalow, you can find resorts that are more accommodating, gracious, and guest-focused. Until the management culture changes, it's not worth the money. read more

One Star - Not Worth the Price or the Hassle I had high hopes for The Bungalows Key Largo, but our stay was extremely disappointing. The food was by far the worst part--nearly everything tasted like it came from a freezer or a package. The salad bar had stale croutons, the meats were consistently overcooked, and the calamari was rubbery and barely edible. For a resort at this price point, we expected fresh, high-quality meals, and instead got the opposite. The service was just as poor. We waited over an hour for food multiple times, and when it finally arrived, it was often incorrect. Staff seemed overwhelmed or disinterested, and there was no sense of urgency or hospitality. The resort itself is not well managed. There's no clear escalation process when things go wrong. It took me over 15 phone calls and multiple voicemails just to speak to someone in management. When I finally did, the only compensation offered was a 10% discount--which felt like an insult considering the number of issues we experienced. When I asked to speak to someone higher up, I was told the property is privately owned and that the owner does not speak with guests. For what you're paying here, you could have a significantly better all-inclusive experience in Mexico for half the price--and you'd likely be treated with more care and professionalism. I would not recommend this resort. Save your time and money and go somewhere that values its guests and actually delivers on the promise of a luxury experience. read more

WARNING: NOT worth $1300++ a night!!! I have been to The Bungalows four times in three years. One visit being NYE 2024. I have only ever experienced overall great times. NYE 2024 was so great, I decided to come again for 2025. What an absolute disappoint this last visit was. We arrived at 2:30pm and check in was not till 4pm due to their strict rules. The only way to check in early was to pay a fee of $150 per person. We decided to do this as we had reservations at the fine dining restaurant at 5:30pm. Once we completed the early check in, the check in employee tells us our room is not ready but she has escalated it with housekeeping. What? We went to the Tiki Bar to have a drink and wait for the room to be ready. "Z" at the Tiki Bar was friendly and a complete pleasure over our days there. A few minutes before 4pm, we still have not been taken to our room. I called the front desk, told them my name, room number, and explained we had checked in early and were still waiting for our room. Their response was, "you're room is not guaranteed until 4pm". "That's fine, but we are now a few minutes before 4pm", I responded. She then sent a bellman to take us to our room. (I would like to note that Darlington was fantastic.) Our dinner and service at Bogie & Bocall's that night was excellent! The next day was NYE and we were so excited for a fun evening. It was VERY cold for the Keys, in the low 60's and into the low 50's at night with 15-20 mph winds on the water. It was too cold to sit in the sun, so we hung out in the Living Room watching TV. Service in the Living Room our whole stay was hit or miss. One day, I went down to the pool servers and tipped them to come upstairs. Also, to note, any service there was ended at 5pm, and at that time, you had to get up and go into the Hemingway Bar across the hall and wait on a bartender serving a full bar. I would not expect this help-yourself type of service with what we are paying a night. Especially with the weather as cold as it was and it was not comfortable to be outside. Back to NYE, its freezing and thankfully, they moved the buffet inside. The spread was nice until I found a hair in my mashed potatoes. The deserts were average at best. The band was set up outside as well as a photo booth along the water that hardly anyone used. There was no way to be outside with the weather as it was. There were NO Heaters outside. No blankets or towels were offered. (Some guests were walking around in their robes from their rooms. Clever!) There were no hot beverages offered; hot toddy, spiked hot chocolate, coffee and Bailey's, nothing .. We tried to tough it out in the Tiki Hut with the sides down so we could hear the music but ultimately it was just too cold and we went back to our room well before midnight. When the band would take one of its long breaks, it was dead silent, no background music would play. Urlich and Missy did all they could to make the best of it and we felt very bad that what was supposed be a big night was ultimately a complete bust! Live music is such a nice touch throughout the day. Except there is no one monitoring the live music with the piped in background music. Meaning the piped in music would play while the musician was playing. One day, the guitarist hollered at me at the bar and asked me if I could ask the bartender to turn off the piped in music. Then, when there was a break in the live music, no one turned on the piped in music and it would be awkwardly quiet. I am in complete awe that there was absolutely NO PIVOT to adapt to the weather. Especially at a place we are paying $1300++ a night. I live in South Florida and know that cold days like that are rare, however every restaurant or hotel in South Florida have heaters when it gets cold outside. The lack of attention to the guest was unacceptable. Based on this visit, I would not return to the property. What a bummer, I used to love this place. read more

The resort would of been awarded a great review if they weren't only caring about the money going into their pockets. My spouse and I decided to take a trip spending 1,500 a night on a room. (NOT ALL INCLUSIVE, unless 4+ days ) Just to find out you get CHARGED eating at certain restaurants unless you book a trip for 4 days or longer! Regardless everything was good until we came back to our A/C unit broken. Imagine a broken A/C in the keys! I felt as if I was in South America since it was 85 degrees in the room, it was colder outside! Furthermore, we filed a report saying the room is not sleepable, we were told the guy coming to fix it would be there shortly. It went from shortly to next morning, just for him to be running "late" another hour. Finally! He arrived! Just to find out that he can't fix it! Yes he couldn't fix it! Now the worst problem about this situation is Cynthia Acosta, the general manager behind this whole mess, who helps in no way. She offered a "discount" and was very rude. She didn't bother to understand our perspective, didn't understand that paying for a room for that price gets you stuck with a "deal with it!" Response! So unprofessional! Worst night of my life when considering I paid to sleep outside. What is a discount going to do? When I can't sleep in the room! Stay Away! This Resort is a Scam. They lure you in with a well put together website and an active Social Media presence but it fails to meet any of our expectations. The only positives about the resort was it's location being in Key Largo and the Landscaping was very impressive. However when you're operating a Resort and Restaurants at a "Luxury Resort" it requires very pleasant and friendly staff who are competent at their jobs and this place is staffed with a Disney Resort C squad. Very rude, very dismissive and condescending. Do these people not know that guests pay $1200 per night to stay there? Absolutely unacceptable Furthermore the Food at the "Fine Dining" restaurants is atrocious and at times inedible. I was so disappointed with my stay there. I feel embarrassed that I took my wife there for our anniversary, she deserves so much better. Do Not waste your money at this resort! Stay at a Four Seasons or JW on a beach, spend less on the room, get superior guest service and much better food! read more

This place is amazing, the staff are all professional (Samantha awesome personality to have on staff). The different activities that csn be scheduled to participate pate in from kayaks to yoga on the white sand. The different bungalows from Beach Bungalow to Garden Bungalow that are all amazing put together. There are 2 different pools to relax in one party pool and a relaxation pool this one is 24 hours well worth it after midnight. The Tiki Bar is lively and there are 2 Tiki Boat tours, a 3 hour Sand Bar party however due to weather we did not get to participate in this event. The sandals for dinner from previous is understandable now that I have slept on it. As this is a way to maintain a professional dining experience. Therefore this resort is 5 and I would enjoy experiencing and exploring this resort once again in the future. If not this particular resort possibly the Yellowstone location. read more

We stayed at Bungalows for seven glorious days! We received 5-star treatment from the very moment we arrived! Everything was absolutely perfect. We were highly impressed. The staff did everything well within their power to ensure our stay was the best it could possibly be. Our bungalow was extreme well maintained. Dining options were spectacular. The entire facility is immaculately maintained. Service with a smile is clearly their motto! We were 100% impressed! We will be back. Worth every penny! read more

Beautiful all inclusive resort just south of Miami. It felt like an island getaway without having to travel far. We chose to stay in a bungalow away from the crowds and it was quiet and private. We did hear some traffic while enjoying the outdoor tub but it wasn't enough noise to ruin our stay. Service was wonderful, drinks good. Food was obviously prepared each meal but it was satisfying and well presented. We enjoyed eating beachside at the Mexican inspired option the most. Live music all day and then karaoke or dance music at night. Days felt long. Took away one star bc there really isn't much of a beach area. We will visit again soon. Note the tipping policy. It isn't expected but like others we felt obligated to tip on what thought the cost of meal would be outside the resort so some tips were as much as $50 per meal. We didn't mind doing so bc everyone we encountered was wonderful and service was prompt and attentive. read more

Oh my goodness. This place was a dream come true! My husband and I were looking for an all-inclusive, adults only resort that was in the US and we are both so happy we found Bungalows. The amazing service, the incredible rooms, the food and drinks, water sports, and the lovely surroundings made this place special. We had a great time enjoying live music each day, dining at the different restaurants on site, talking to employees from all over the world, and truly appreciated how clean this resort is. Our room cleaning each day made the place look brand new! The outdoor crews were quietly working each day to keep the place beautiful. I would go back tomorrow if I could! The *only* suggestion/complaint I would have was with two women who worked in the front office. Not friendly or helpful. Everyone else was AMAZING. read more

Wonderful all inclusive resort located in the Keys of Florida. The courteous staff will meet you upon arrival to take your luggage and provide complimentary valet parking. The guest reception staff are quick to help you get checked in before your private tour of the island that ends at your own personal bungalow. During your stay there is not much a need to lift a finger as the staff are constantly patrolling poolside and along to beach to bring refreshments. All the dining facilities are top notch and the food is delicious. Wonderful experience and fantastic atmosphere. read more

tldr: Fannnntastic weekend getaway. Book the waterfront bungalow (requires 3-night stay) rather than the garden. Vast difference in experience/wow-factor between the two. Visited as a quick weekend getaway (couple) from Miami. Booked last minute and didn't see the waterfront bungalow as an option. Come to find out: - Garden bungalows have a 2-night minimum, - Waterfront bungalows require a 3-night stay. I had booked the garden bungalow but was _wildly disappointed_ with the location and general vibe after checking in/arriving at our room. Our bungalow (room 504) was a stone's throw from the main entrance parking lot. If you dig: - Isolation (think Siberia), - Packing a lunch for the hike to the resort amenities (activities, beach, restaurants/tiki bar, people, fun?), - Abject privacy ..this would undoubtedly be the bungalow for you. Me? Not so much. Heh. Hightailed it back to the office (run away!) and asked (aka, begged and pleaded) if they could switch us to a waterview bungalow. Fortunately, they were happy to accommodate the switch and we found the island getaway experience we we're hoping for. Moral of the story.. waterview bungalow -- way-mo-better: - Stellar location with an awe-inspiring view - 15-second walk to amenities (pool, restaurant/bar, activities, other humans?) - As private as you want it to be (blackout curtains in room and patio) - Quiet/serene, not so close to things (noise, crowds, etc.) that you can't escape when you want to - Pristine condition, well appointed, luxe feel. Overall, fantastic experience. Would definitely visit again. FYI / Garden Bungalow: Not all garden bungalows are bad. Our room was 504, the last row before hitting the parking lot. If you're looking to book a garden, call and make sure that you're being assigned a room in the 200s or 300s, as they sit just behind the oceanfront/waterview bungalows and are a hop, skip, and a jump from all the amenities of the resort. read more

Just got back from our trip - we stayed Thursday to Sunday and we would definitely go back Beautiful luxury resort. Rooms are beautiful and very clean. Cleanliness is a priority for us and this resort definitely met our expectations. All of the staff were very nice and attentive. Steven at the pool was a great server and the bartenders who hosted the mixology class yesterday were great. Food and drinks were delicious, good dj entertainment, plenty of water activities and also more quiet/calm areas to relax. Loved the private outdoor area in our room- outdoor shower and tub were very clean , robe and slippers also available in the room Pros: cleanliness, beautiful resort, good food and drinks, great staff, beautiful views , fun activities to do right from the resort , room was cleaned each day and mini fridge always restocked, most top shelf liquor included Con: if staying under four nights , the steak house isn't included (we new this when we booked it) it didn't really matter since you can order different things from the menu to Chang it up or just get apps from the bar. Another small negative was our room was close to highway so you can hear some traffic noise if you are a light sleeper. Room service is not included , for the price of the resort it should definitely be included. read more

Pregnant and not wanting to travel too far from home, we quickly searched the interwebs for the top resorts in FL (driving distance) for our one-year wedding anniversary and The Bungalows tops nearly every list. The price tag nearly scared me away, but we figured we could splurge on a 3-night stay vs. similar non-all-inclusives that charge the same. Upon arrival, we had a short visit with the front desk to set up our account for extra fees we might incur. Not a great start considering at this point, you've already paid thousands for the room. But, that was quickly alleviated by a ride around the property by a very nice employee in a turquoise-colored, tassled golf cart. Here are my hot takes, unfiltered because I got that "baby brain" thing going on right now: LOVE IT -Vibes: Key Largo is my least fave key, but the resort is so done up that you won't even leave the place. Once you enter the property, you get that immediate "Disney-fied" experience that I look for in resorts. Meaning, it's perfectly manicured and well thought out with lots of turquoise, on-theme, zen ambiance. I honestly think they hire someone to rake the sand daily because it always looks great everywhere you go. -The Room: There's honestly nothing better than your OWN BUNGALOW complete with personal bikes! -The OUTDOOR TUB deserves its own line in this review for being downright amazing in every way. Trust me when I say that between the outdoor tub and shower in the private patio, we did not use the indoor shower even once! We are now highly considering an outdoor shower/tub for our own house. -The Zen Pool was our favorite and we loved snagging a canopy and camping out for the day with great service. Get the pineapple mojito (or no-jito in my case). It was phenomenal! -The Spa: Our couples massage was wonderful and in our own little tiki hut! LEAVE IT -Their harsh rules about arrival/departure time make you feel the opposite of relaxed. You feel somewhat nickle-and-dimed here to a degree, as if the nightly stay was not already sky high. -The beds were hard like a rock so if you need something soft, you may need to either bring a topper or ask the front desk for one. This was strange to me! -The food at all-inclusives is never the greatest experience from what i've heard. While the staff was relentlessly friendly and accommodating, the food was just okay and nothing to write Yelp about. For example, they serve jumbo scallops, but they're not prepared as well as they could be. The desserts looked amazing, but sitting out in the heat, they were mostly inedible to me. This needs to be reworked! -We paid extra for a display of roses on the bed, but this wasn't really worth the money. Honestly, skip it or bring your own for the same effect. Overall, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed winning trivia not once, but twice! I wish they had a few more activities. We tried yoga on the water, but I was hoping for something more beginner, like a guided meditation, due to my pregnancy. Heck if there were a DAILY meditation, i'd go! The waitstaff was wonderful and not enough can be said about them! read more

Loved everything about our baby-moon here. Especially the room. To us, the garden view room has more privacy and is the best value for your money compared to the ocean view. Really wish I did not have to leave this review... This was supposed to be a memorable evening as we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. Unfortunately, it ended up being a negative situation because we found a bedbug in our bed after coming back from dinner. Additionally, there were patches of white dots under the bed, which a quick Google search Revealed could likely be eggs of bedbugs. Of course we immediately wanted to check out of the property which we did. The staff was actually wonderful especially the guys that drive you around giving you the tour and the restaurant staff, etc. Shout out to Pablo at Fish Tails! Unfortunately the management and administrative staff is heinous. Cynthia was clueless and unfortunately completely unable to help us with a refund Even though it's Florida law that hotels keep rooms pest free. She was very condescending and refused to believe us. It was really unprofessional the way she handled it, and I cannot believe that she as a manager is not empowered to make a situation right. If you have ever worked with a person who is well trained and equipped to lead in a service environment, you will immediately recognize an attitude of ownership and delivering exceptional customer service. Unfortunately, with Cynthia and the other administrative staff, this was completely absent. She was like a deer in the headlights and kept refusing to believe or help us. We simply wanted a refund on the unused services. Sure wish we had looked deeper at the reviews that have already been published because it seems like this is a continuing problem. Seriously hope they fix the situation because they have the potential to be a competitive property in the area. Until that happens however, be advised at least one cabana is infested with bedbugs. Also, unfortunate, but less of a dealbreaker were the dirty conditions under the bed. In addition to the white dots... There were pubes and hair in the mattress itself when we pulled up the mattress pad to check for more bedbugs. Just avoid this place altogether for now. read more
