    Sea Señor restaurant.

The resort is beautifully secluded. Once you enter, you never need to leave. It has everything an adult only resort requires. I can't say the same for the food quality. Although- the presentation is impactful, the taste is not!

My fiancé booked this trip for my birthday. It was absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful lobby. Very friendly and professional service from every person who works there. We had a bungalow that was beach front and it was really beautiful. We loved sitting on our little porch and just enjoying the views. The quiet side of the beach (where our bungalow was located) had really nice ambiance. There are sun chairs everywhere. Beautiful string lights and tiki torches for night time. Outdoor beach beds with curtains and lounge beds with visors you can pull down. The bungalow itself has an indoor shower and also an outdoor soaking tub and shower. You get your own bikes to ride around the property. The air conditioning was very good. The sheets were lovely. Everything was clean and in good working order. It also felt very private. We loved the breakfast buffet. The fruit and pastries were our favorites. We also loved Bogey and Bacall's. We didn't love Sea Senor's as much, although it was really fun and beautiful eating right by the beach. The food was just a bit bland. Another thing that I didn't fully realize until we got there was that there isn't a traditional beach. There is sand but it is lined by a rocky coast. You can swim in the ocean and you access it by stairs. So that is something to keep in mind. The pools were lovely and clean. But they could be bigger and maybe have like a water feature or something to improve the ambiance. The pools all close at sunset. Which also was a bit of a bummer and we weren't sure why. But we enjoyed swimming in them. We also didn't realize that seating around the pool is limited and if we wanted to have chairs by the pool, we'd have to get there early and save seats. The spa was incredible. We got a couples massage and it was one of the best massages I have ever had. Definitely recommend going there and treating yourself. Overall our experience was wonderful and romantic and relaxing. The only thing that prevents me from wanting to go back is not having a traditional beach where you can just walk into the ocean and swim. But if that isn't a priority for you, this place is absolutely wonderful!

First time guest, and I enjoyed my stay despite the crazy winds we encountered the entire time. We were warmly greeted and did enter "fantasy island" as another yelper called it. Our jungle bungalow was ready and was very nice. The room is a nice size, the Adirondack chairs out front are a nice touch and used immensely, the outside area was nice and sheltered from the wind except that we had to share it with a green iguana? He scared me greatly when I moved a couch cushion. The outside shower and tub were enjoyable and I felt privacy was perfect. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and lush and having bikes available all the time was a plus. The pools are great and all the restaurants served tasty food. The bartenders made great drinks and the live music was enjoyable. We were looking for a nice escape and this place fit the bill. Unfortunately the wind was such that we couldn't kayak or paddle board. Even sitting at the pool was chilly due to winds. If it had been nice, water activities would have been abundant. So many positives, but let me point out a few negatives. 1). Although they say no pets, there were two couples with small dogs. I have allergies and never expected that a dog could have been staying in my room. The front desk said service dogs only...these were not service dogs. 2). Guests placing items on lounge chairs at the pools and not using the chairs for hours is a huge gripe for me. We showed up at 10:30 am both days and not an empty lounge chair in sight and only a few had guests in them, the rest were "saved" with personal items. I do wish they would just add tips to the total balance so you wouldn't have to deal with waiting for a check and deciding on a tip. Will definitely return.

I couldn't recommend it enough. Don't listen to all those bad reviews. The service, drinks, food, and overall atmosphere are a 5/5. We have had the most amazing honeymoon here. Izabella, Steve, Emily, and several others were wonderfully attentive servers. We enjoying the tiki boat cruise and seeing the coral, birds, and mangroves. I have loved every second we have spent here, and we will definitely be back. Please read the fine print before booking or you may be disappointed. Tip your waiters, enjoy relaxation, and you will have an amazing time!

Check in a bit slow. Bungalows at the beach were as advertised. Grounds impeccably maintained. Beach raked. Food was very good, much higher end than typical all inclusive. Drink options were endless. I would suggest they stock the bungalow fridges with beer and liquor options. Nighttime entertainment wasn't over the top but fun, good music. Dan the bartender was great, very attentive. Bogie and Bacalls was worth the upcharge. Good wine selection at a price. Bloody Mary bar every morning was awesome.

Great chill place to enjoy your anniversary! My husband and I had a great time. The staff was great. The food was amazing. The views/live music 10/10. It was so much fun riding our bikes throughout the resort, chilling poolside in our own private cabana, and trying the different restaurants. We loved it so much and we will return. Also, side note we did the sunset cruise which was so nice! Well worth the money spent. We also did the massages which while nice, we don't think it was worth the price and won't include in our next visit.

Hubby surprised me with a trip for our twentieth anniversary. If anyone remembers "welcome to fantasy island" where the entire resort was enclosed? That's what it is like. It's secluded and very beautiful. The staff were very nice from check in to check out. The room is modern beach chic and set up very well. Bed was comfortable and we had an outdoor shower and tub which was secluded. The body and hair products are amazing!! The jacuzzi was large and comfortable. There are two cruiser bikes to use but we didn't as the property isn't that large. The property is very clean and well maintained. Very relaxing and the weather was beautiful. The resort was not sold out. I would say anywhere from 70-80% full. The pool is clean and pretty and the pool chaises are comfortable thanks to the thick cushions. The entertainment daily was severely lacking as they sounded like bad casino singers. The same island Muzak played everyday. Vacationing patrons consisted of young honeymooners to our age and older. It would have been nice to have a variety of music by the pool to liven things up a bit and maybe get staff to engage more with maybe games such as limbo at the pool. I think tips would be much better for them. I would also recommend maybe a little area to dance in the evening. There were a few activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding, boat rentals, sunset cruise which are extra. We didn't choose to do any of those. Food was good at each outlet but lacking in good desserts. Would also have liked to have been able to take lunch to the pool for a little variety so unless you want the same pool fare everyday......Our last night, we had dinner at Bogie & Bacall. The filet was hands down one of the best I have had.. The Hemingway bar is attached and the bartenders were efficient in handling everyone. The large open living room is directly across. Some suggestions would be to take part of the living room and make it a cigar area. The bar has an extensive bourbon menu and I think the guys would appreciate that. Do not even consider ordering room service as it is 3x more expensive, approximately $42 for a burger. If you are looking for an all inclusive, low key, quiet, secluded, resort atmosphere, this is the place for you. If you are looking for a little more variety, you might be a bit bored. Hubby and I had a good time as we are low key. Off to the second part of our vacation!

Ask the Community - Bungalows Key Largo

Is there beach access at this resort?

    Yes there is beach access

I keep reading that we should reserve our restaurant dinner choice before we get there, is this for the whole week or just the day we arrive? What about any activities/spa was anybody able to make reservations after you got there?

Definitely book dinner reservations (and spa) ahead of time. However for extra excursions the sunset cruise is popular so booking that beforehand would be good too. For the other ones it didn't seem as busy so those are more flexible.

So this is an all inclusive resort?

Yes! All inclusive top shelf and fine dining.

In total, we went through four general managers, each making new promises that never materialized. Even weeks before the wedding, when we were trying to make final payment, we couldn't get a response. When I finally raised concerns with the newest manager, her response was, "I have like six brides all contacting me at once." With all due respect, that's not how you handle a time-sensitive, stressful situation for a bride and her family. To add to the confusion, their website still showed units available just days before our event--even though we had rented out the entire resort. The units themselves are not equipped as expected either--we had to go out and purchase basic items like dish towels, a dish scrubber, pot holders, and more. Their new lanai roof leaks and ruined a couple of the custom built items we thought were safely stored since it's a brand new structure. We unpacked the U-Haul when we got home and had cockroaches in a few of the things stored in the main house.

As Hilton Gold members, we were fortunate to receive a small room upgrade at booking, which we definitely appreciated. Let me start with the highlights the resort amenities are wonderful, especially for families. There were plenty of complimentary activities for kids during the day, and even fun nighttime events like dancing that were adorable and well thought out. It truly felt family-friendly, and there was always something going on to keep everyone entertained. The cutest was Santa pics with cookies and milk! The staff was attentive and kind throughout our stay, and honestly, that goes a long way. Great service can elevate an entire experience, and they really delivered on that front. That said, at nearly $1,000 per night during peak season, I did expect the facilities and rooms to be in better condition. The property has so much potential, but parts of it felt a bit rundown for the price point. The rooms could use some attention and deeper cleaning. I completely understand that this is a beachfront resort and sand is inevitable however we noticed quite a bit of sand throughout the room, even on the bed when it had been freshly made. I've stayed at other beach resorts where housekeeping was a bit more thorough in that regard. However nothing crazy but cleanliness is big in my book. One morning, there was also a cockroach at the coffee cart. My husband reported it right away to the front desk. The next few mornings the cart wasn't out, and I'm assuming they were addressing the situation, which I appreciate but it was still a bit off-putting. The on-site restaurants were good not extraordinary, but enjoyable and I felt the pricing there was fair considering it's a resort property. Overall, we had a great experience. The resort has incredible potential, and with a little more attention to upkeep especially considering the premium nightly rate it could easily be a five-star stay. The friendly staff and activities made a big difference.

Total rip off for what you get. We have stayed at Hiltons in 16 countries including the Grand Wailea Maui and have never seen these types of numbers. 10+ years as a Diamond with Hilton and this is a shameful experience. It would be different if the rooms made up for it but they are no better than a redone drive up motel as it is noisy all night long with halls open to the parking lot.

We chose this property based on the photographs shown online and the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Unfortunately, our actual experience was very different. The biggest issue was that the room we received did not reflect the condition portrayed in the photos. While it appears the property may have been renovated years ago, much of what we found showed significant wear and deferred maintenance. Some of the issues we encountered included: * A bed that creaked loudly with virtually any movement, making it difficult to sleep. * Shower water that never became truly hot and had very low water pressure. * Mold or mildew buildup visible beneath the sink rim and inside the sink overflow opening. * Rust and corrosion on bathroom fixtures. * Upholstered furniture that was stained, worn, and damaged. * A closet door that would not properly close because it was off track. * Exterior areas that looked noticeably different from the photographs used in advertising. * General cleanliness and maintenance concerns throughout the suite. After reporting the bed issue, management acknowledged the problem and offered to move us to another room with a new mattress. We packed our belongings and prepared to move. However, before the move could occur, the replacement room was reassigned to another guest. We were later informed that because we had not responded quickly enough, the room was no longer available. What disappointed me most was not simply the condition of the room, but the lack of meaningful resolution after management recognized there was a problem. Once a room change was offered, I believe it should have been held until direct contact was made with the guest. To be fair, my wife and I still enjoyed our time in the Florida Keys and had a wonderful birthday celebration. The location is beautiful. However, the accommodations themselves did not meet the expectations created by the property's marketing photographs, and management's handling of the situation left us disappointed. I encourage future guests to look carefully at recent traveler photos and ask questions about the current condition of the specific room they are booking before making a reservation.

John Pennecamp State Park is really close as well. Rooms & Building - The hotel is going for a retro tropical tiki vibe. It is probably not for everyone but I digged it. Rooms are spacious and offer the typical Hampton Inn layout. The grounds were not like typical Hamptons though, well manicured and full of beautiful tropical plants. This location had a much more Hilton resort vibe without the resort price. Amenities - The hotel had a small beach area that overlooked the ocean. There is a pool with a pool bar but everything was so cold, it was closed and the pool was somewhat uncomfortable to swim due to the temps and wind, so we passed. Food - Pool bar was closed but we did enjoy the free breakfast buffet. Typical Hampton Inn offerings including make your own waffles, eggs, breakfast meat and an assortment of continental offerings. My kids loved that there was a ton of toppings (including key lime syrup!) available for the waffles, we made some pretty crazy combos. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. No complaints. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. The villas have separate rooms with common areas and the one I was in had three bedrooms. The bedroom situation was similar to a hotel room. A nice comfortable bed, a private bathroom, generous closet space, and - most importantly - a good stable temperature even with the thermostat being out in the hall. A ceiling fan helps with circulation, which is great too. The only real downside I can think of is that two of the bedrooms are on the second floor, and you need to take this into account with your luggage as there are no elevators. Well, that and the fact that the finish of the stairs blend into the floor at the bottom so if you are older this might make for a physical perception problem as well. Anyway... Parking is a little tight when the place is full, but the location worked out really well for the wedding ceremony. Out on the point you can see the sunset across the water in the evening. Manatees frequent the dock which are a sight to behold. Across the dock there was a nice flat area on hard sand that was perfect for the reception.
