Awesome experience and so glad we found it. Beautiful beach access with staff being so friendly and accommodating. It's very old Florida vibe but clean and kept well. We will return for sure!

For an impromptu visit to Key Largo, Sunset Cove turned out to be the best place we could have ever picked to stay! First, this is a dog-friendly resort. We were informed at check-in that not only are certain cottages dog-friendly, but dogs are also welcome at all of the amenities: private beach, the dock, kayaks, paddle boards, tiki huts, everywhere! As said however, only certain cottages are pet friendly, so keep an eye on that when booking. Second, we had our own little private cottage, fully equipped with a kitchen, bathroom, beautiful television, and our own parking spot. We stayed in Cottage #4, which is adjoined with Cottage #5 - we could not hear our neighbors! It was very private and very cozy. Our cottage was a less than 1 minute walk to the beach. They have chairs, benches, and tables set up along the beach, first come first serve. The water is beautiful and clear. The water starts out sandy (perfect for kids and pets!) and then turns into a beautiful ecosystem of fish, coral, and sea grass (perfect for snorkeling!). Complimentary bicycles, kayaks, and paddle boards are also available first come, first serve. They have life jackets available, too. We checked-out the paddle boards and took our puppy out for her first experience. It was so fun! Off the dock, you can park your boat (I believe there may be an additional fee) - you can also fish off the dock; one visitor caught a handful of mangrove snapper. While we didn't catch anything, we saw plenty of fish just below (some at least a foot long!) This resort is also very close to restaurants, shopping, and more (within walking distance!). The private beach actually connects to a beautiful restaurant next door; however, beware! That restaurant is not dog friendly :( Overall, we fell in love with Sunset Cove and cannot wait to come back for another trip! Highly recommend!

Stayed here for a family trip and we had a wonderful time. If you're looking for a modern, super snazzy location this isn't exactly it. It is though very quaint, cozy, and quiet and great for families! Our rooms were clean upon arrival and everything worked well. Housekeeping was great. I did notice a few towels with hair on it but nothing too crazy. My first con was the filter of the a/c. It needed to be changed and I could see the dust in the filter. This made it a little hard to breathe at night because of my allergies. However, our room was overall, cozy. Staff were friendly and helpful. The older gentleman was really nice and even followed up with me regarding my final payment. The second and last con was the parking situation for additional vehicles in your party. There were spaces on the property for which they charged us to park (as advertised!) but in the grand scheme of things it still seems like a silly fee for guests.

Cute and kitschy and clean. Stayed in a kitchenette cottage and was charmed by the dinosaurs and other animals on display. Annie at the front was awesome and friendly. Went kayaking. They also have SUPs. The waterfront is pretty and there hammocks and ditto areas throughout as well as a cozy table and chaos in front of the cottage. Slightly less expensive than the "resorts" but definitely a taste of what the Keys were like 20 years ago. Wi-Fi, hairdryers all the modern touches but with the feel of a mom and pop place from the 70s

JUST GOT TOLD TO DRIVE 8 hours back home! Lost my drivers license not allowed to check into hotel. The manager told me the owner won't speak to anyone and the resort policy does not state that. Very upsetting. Got treated overly horrible. The manager raising her voice rolling her eyes and all. Been staying here over 8 years family as well.

Would highly recommend staying at this adorable resort ! We stayed in the hideaway room with 2 adults , 2 kids . The small beach area was great for the kids to play in and the dock caught the most gorgeous sunsets . We will definitely be back to enjoy sunset cove !

This is our second time staying here and it was just as great if not better than the first time we were there. The sign out front says "special rates", we did in fact get a pretty hefty discount. We thought it was probably because there was not many people around, we were the only ones there for the first couple hours but then the place did fill in pretty quickly. We had a cute room down by the water with such a beautiful view. There are 2 restaurants very close and they had live entertainment So we benefitted from that without having to go to the restaurant, It ended early enough so that it wasn't playing late and didn't disturb us at bedtime. Inside the cottage everything was spic & span clean, very organized with dishes, a microwave, coffee pot, toaster and a larger than apartment size fridge. The room was small but big enough for the two of us. The bed was comfortable although it made noise just as we sat on it and again turning over in bed. The noisy bed was the only complaint we had. The woman at the front desk , Jusella was very nice and accommodating. They offer kayaks but we didn't get a chance to use them. I highly recommend this adorable spot in paradise.

Another incredible experience at our favorite vacation spot in the Keys! The owners, the general manager Robin, front desk Amanda, and the entire staff are always gracious and attentive. The cottages are well maintained: AC, TV, internet are all perfect. My 4 year old daughter demands we go there; the little beach right on the property is perfect for a swim and the dock is available for fishing. Restaurants are all in walking distance... just an ideal vacation spot for the family. Also note that on this trip, my daughter met fellow guests from Germany and Holland and had the best time meeting these other kids from Europe showing them how to play the "Ring Toss" in the central located tiki hut. Not a hotel; MUCH better as it provides a compete Keys experience as opposed to some boring, sanitized corporate building .... Highly recommended!

We had an excellent stay. Cottage 1 was fully renovated and beautiful!! Super clean. Staff was awesome. We loved having a kayak and paddle board available. The beach was wonderful too!

Latest stay...spent more time here this year and the place and facility was as good as ever after Irma passed through....love the retro-style of the whole place!

Our daughter was recently married here and we did a full three-night resort buyout. While the property itself is absolutely stunning the nine months leading up to the wedding were incredibly frustrating. Communication was consistently poor--weeks would go by without any response. We were promised a Florida Resident Discount by two different general managers, but it was never honored. (This is a significant discount that we did not get as promised). In total, we went through four general managers, each making new promises that never materialized. Even weeks before the wedding, when we were trying to make final payment, we couldn't get a response. When I finally raised concerns with the newest manager, her response was, "I have like six brides all contacting me at once." With all due respect, that's not how you handle a time-sensitive, stressful situation for a bride and her family. To add to the confusion, their website still showed units available just days before our event--even though we had rented out the entire resort. The units themselves are not equipped as expected either--we had to go out and purchase basic items like dish towels, a dish scrubber, pot holders, and more. Their new lanai roof leaks and ruined a couple of the custom built items we thought were safely stored since it's a brand new structure. We unpacked the U-Haul when we got home and had cockroaches in a few of the things stored in the main house.

As Hilton Gold members, we were fortunate to receive a small room upgrade at booking, which we definitely appreciated. Let me start with the highlights the resort amenities are wonderful, especially for families. There were plenty of complimentary activities for kids during the day, and even fun nighttime events like dancing that were adorable and well thought out. It truly felt family-friendly, and there was always something going on to keep everyone entertained. The cutest was Santa pics with cookies and milk! The staff was attentive and kind throughout our stay, and honestly, that goes a long way. Great service can elevate an entire experience, and they really delivered on that front. That said, at nearly $1,000 per night during peak season, I did expect the facilities and rooms to be in better condition. The property has so much potential, but parts of it felt a bit rundown for the price point. The rooms could use some attention and deeper cleaning. I completely understand that this is a beachfront resort and sand is inevitable however we noticed quite a bit of sand throughout the room, even on the bed when it had been freshly made. I've stayed at other beach resorts where housekeeping was a bit more thorough in that regard. However nothing crazy but cleanliness is big in my book. One morning, there was also a cockroach at the coffee cart. My husband reported it right away to the front desk. The next few mornings the cart wasn't out, and I'm assuming they were addressing the situation, which I appreciate but it was still a bit off-putting. The on-site restaurants were good not extraordinary, but enjoyable and I felt the pricing there was fair considering it's a resort property. Overall, we had a great experience. The resort has incredible potential, and with a little more attention to upkeep especially considering the premium nightly rate it could easily be a five-star stay. The friendly staff and activities made a big difference.

And don't forget the tax man as he is expensive as well. We had coffee from the coffee truck in the lobby and for a regular coffee and a latte it was $21 with the fees. 2 drinks at the pool was $42 with the fees and 2 apps from the bar last night was $50 with a $5 tip. Total rip off for what you get. We have stayed at Hiltons in 16 countries including the Grand Wailea Maui and have never seen these types of numbers. 10+ years as a Diamond with Hilton and this is a shameful experience. It would be different if the rooms made up for it but they are no better than a redone drive up motel as it is noisy all night long with halls open to the parking lot.

We chose to rent and drive from the airport because we had a trip to Key West planned. It's about a 90 minute drive from the airport so, an Uber would have been pretty costly. The valet takes care of your luggage and places it on a golf cart while you check in. The check in process took about 10 min. The front desk staff wasn't super friendly but they weren't rude either. They are supposed to offer you a drink, but we were not offered one by our receptionist while the couple next to us were offered one. No biggie. One thing to note: when you book, 50% is due. Then the other 50% is due thirty days prior to your arrival if you switch your source of payment, they charge you 10%. That same card has do be used for gratuity or add ons. Keep this in mind when you plan. Also, they put a $100/day hold on your card when you check in. After check in, the valet takes you on a tour of the property and then brings you to your room. You'll want to have cash for gratuity for the valet. The Bungalows themselves are gorgeous and offer an outdoor area and outdoor shower. I don't think the beach view bungalows are worth the upgrade. After that, you're on your own for the most part. They schedule your dinner, but other than Bogie and Bacall, they are pretty flexible. Fish Tales is the main restaurant. They offer a four course meal. The food was great. I wouldn't say "amazing" but really well done. The service is impeccable. This is an all inclusive bur gratuity isn't included. This was annoying and probably my biggest complaint. At the end of your meal you are handed a check of all you consumed with a recommend range of gratuity. You put in what you want to leave and sign it and leave. The issue is, it's hard to keep track of how much you're spending. So if you're on a budget, that can be a problem. At night everyone gathers around the tiki bar to enjoy the entertainment. There is only one bad and it fills quickly. The bartenders are also filling drink orders for the pool, and in some situations, Sea Seniors next door. You can also order food at the tiki bar if you choose. It's basic bar food and pizza but quite delicious. There is live entertainment daily from 11-11. There was trivia one night, and karaoke another. But there were no real events offered. In the mornings everyone heads to Fishtales for breakfast. There is a good variety of choices, including a buffet. They do not change it up at all though. So it can get a little boring day after day. They also have a mimosa and bloody Mary self serve bar. Pro tip, bring your own yeti and take two plastic cups of minosa and some ice and put them in your yeti for the pool. There are no drinks served until 11 am at the pool which was pretty odd in my opinion. The tiki bar also doesn't open until 11. It was off season but I will say that the pool didn't really get busy. There are two pools. Ok is a zen pool with little cabana beds. It's more quiet there but the main pool was described as the party pool and he was really chill too. There are about 12 pairs of lounge chairs and umbrellas and two big cabanas with couches. It didn't seem like there would be enough but it ended up to be plenty. We w They have servers come around the pool but it takes quite a bit to get your drinks so pack your patience. They also give you a bill at the end with what you ordered and suggested gratuity. It was easy to forget and just leave so I hated this process. I would have rather been charged a daily gratuity to be split between the staff but that's not what they want to do. Bogie and Bacalls: you get a free night there if you stay for more than 4 days. If you don't it's $300 plus gratuity. This was their high end restaurant and it wand spectacular! You get a ton of food and premium drinks. Expect to tip about $100 here. There is an indoor bar/speakeasy called Hemingways. This is not included in your stay. It's premium cocktails and liquor. There is also the "Family Room" which is a giant indoor/outdoor game room. There are no servers there. If you have a yeti, you could grab a few drinks from the tiki bar and keep it cold. There is a huge TV so we were able to watch the USA game on it with a few other guests. I chose to get a massage. It's a beautiful area of the park but there's no way that 50 min massage was worth $300 + 22% gratuity. They offer water activities. No one was using them. There are some other ads ons but very few guests chose to do them. Overall this is a wonderful, very chill spot and I can see why many guest come back year after year. I wish there were more dining and bar options, and more events offered. The cost was pretty high for what they offer. But we had an amazing time and I'm so glad we did it!

    - Disappointing Stay, Misleading Photos, Poor Response from Management…read more My wife and I stayed in the La Palma Suite for her birthday getaway. We chose this property based on the photographs shown online and the overwhelmingly positive reviews. Unfortunately, our actual experience was very different. The biggest issue was that the room we received did not reflect the condition portrayed in the photos. While it appears the property may have been renovated years ago, much of what we found showed significant wear and deferred maintenance. Some of the issues we encountered included: * A bed that creaked loudly with virtually any movement, making it difficult to sleep. * Shower water that never became truly hot and had very low water pressure. * Mold or mildew buildup visible beneath the sink rim and inside the sink overflow opening. * Rust and corrosion on bathroom fixtures. * Upholstered furniture that was stained, worn, and damaged. * A closet door that would not properly close because it was off track. * Exterior areas that looked noticeably different from the photographs used in advertising. * General cleanliness and maintenance concerns throughout the suite. After reporting the bed issue, management acknowledged the problem and offered to move us to another room with a new mattress. We packed our belongings and prepared to move. However, before the move could occur, the replacement room was reassigned to another guest. We were later informed that because we had not responded quickly enough, the room was no longer available. What disappointed me most was not simply the condition of the room, but the lack of meaningful resolution after management recognized there was a problem. Once a room change was offered, I believe it should have been held until direct contact was made with the guest. To be fair, my wife and I still enjoyed our time in the Florida Keys and had a wonderful birthday celebration. The location is beautiful. However, the accommodations themselves did not meet the expectations created by the property's marketing photographs, and management's handling of the situation left us disappointed. I encourage future guests to look carefully at recent traveler photos and ask questions about the current condition of the specific room they are booking before making a reservation.

Location - The hotel is right off of Interstate 1 and in the middle of Key Largo. You are just down the road from a Publix, shopping center, and a number of restaurants. John Pennecamp State Park is really close as well. Rooms & Building - The hotel is going for a retro tropical tiki vibe. It is probably not for everyone but I digged it. Rooms are spacious and offer the typical Hampton Inn layout. The grounds were not like typical Hamptons though, well manicured and full of beautiful tropical plants. This location had a much more Hilton resort vibe without the resort price. Amenities - The hotel had a small beach area that overlooked the ocean. You can borrow kayaks to take out on the water but it was so windy the day we were there, you would have no luck getting anywhere (we watched a poor couple try to no avail). There is a pool with a pool bar but everything was so cold, it was closed and the pool was somewhat uncomfortable to swim due to the temps and wind, so we passed. Food - Pool bar was closed but we did enjoy the free breakfast buffet. Typical Hampton Inn offerings including make your own waffles, eggs, breakfast meat and an assortment of continental offerings. My kids loved that there was a ton of toppings (including key lime syrup!) available for the waffles, we made some pretty crazy combos. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. No complaints. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - It was more than what I normally would pay for a Hampton Inn at $240 a night but the Keys are spendy during tourist season. Too bad it was so cold it didn't feel much like it! Oh well, our MN luck. Weather aside, the property was nice and it would have been cool to utilize the water sports and water area. On a nicer day, I feel like these would be great bonuses to the property and added value to the stay. If I'm back in Key Largo, I'll give this place another view.

I really love this place! It's a great location! It seems so small, but yet when you start…read morenavigating it, there is quite a bit of property. It's a little confusing at first, but you catch on pretty quick. There is a great beachfront area with lots of lounge chairs to watch the sunrise or sunset or just feel like you are right on the ocean. This is almost right across the street from Jon Penny camp State Park. I went snorkeling and went right back to my room. It was all an amazing experience! There are several great restaurants and stores to shop around here. Oh, and let's not forget the warm cookies when you arrive! Just like all Hamptons, this place offers an amazing breakfast offering for free. Everything from homemade waffles to scones. The lead attendance name was Norma and she was so passionate about her job and about making people happy and keeping the area clean and tidy and stocked. It was a pleasure meeting her!

Stayed in the Conch Villa as part of a pretty large wedding event. The first impression when…read moredriving into the place was, "What could possibly be back here that is going to work for a wedding?" However, the answer to that was surprisingly great. The villas have separate rooms with common areas and the one I was in had three bedrooms. The bedroom situation was similar to a hotel room. A nice comfortable bed, a private bathroom, generous closet space, and - most importantly - a good stable temperature even with the thermostat being out in the hall. A ceiling fan helps with circulation, which is great too. The only real downside I can think of is that two of the bedrooms are on the second floor, and you need to take this into account with your luggage as there are no elevators. Well, that and the fact that the finish of the stairs blend into the floor at the bottom so if you are older this might make for a physical perception problem as well. Anyway... Parking is a little tight when the place is full, but the location worked out really well for the wedding ceremony. Out on the point you can see the sunset across the water in the evening. Manatees frequent the dock which are a sight to behold. Across the dock there was a nice flat area on hard sand that was perfect for the reception. Yes, there are water activities including dolphin interactions across the boarder from what are the villas, but I can't make any comment on that part since I didn't manage to even visit over there.
