THEY BLOCKED ME FOR WRITING A NEGATIVE REVIEW!!! BEWARE!! This is a prime example of what you'd be dealing with!! Our daughter was recently married here and we did a full three-night resort buyout. While the property itself is absolutely stunning the nine months leading up to the wedding were incredibly frustrating. Communication was consistently poor--weeks would go by without any response. We were promised a Florida Resident Discount by two different general managers, but it was never honored. (This is a significant discount that we did not get as promised). In total, we went through four general managers, each making new promises that never materialized. Even weeks before the wedding, when we were trying to make final payment, we couldn't get a response. When I finally raised concerns with the newest manager, her response was, "I have like six brides all contacting me at once." With all due respect, that's not how you handle a time-sensitive, stressful situation for a bride and her family. To add to the confusion, their website still showed units available just days before our event--even though we had rented out the entire resort. The units themselves are not equipped as expected either--we had to go out and purchase basic items like dish towels, a dish scrubber, pot holders, and more. Their new lanai roof leaks and ruined a couple of the custom built items we thought were safely stored since it's a brand new structure. We unpacked the U-Haul when we got home and had cockroaches in a few of the things stored in the main house. read more

The people are incredibly nice and helpful, and the beach/pool is great. On the other hand, the WiFi flat out doesn't work, and the shower handle is completely messed up (cold is lukewarm, hot is freezing, middle is burning hot?) We travel to Key Largo several times a year. We thought we would try somewhere new. We shouldn't have. Good luck trying to get any CORRECT information, or information at all. We have tried SEVERAL times to contact the front desk. No answer. EVER. We tried emailing. No response. We FINALLY were able after multiple attempts to reach someone at the front desk and were given incorrect information about our boat trailer, boat, and just overall all incorrect information. How do we know it is incorrect? Oh because the owner I'm assuming was put in contact with us who also knows no one is able to reach the front desk and also confirmed we were given the wrong information. We can't cancel because no refunds. We can't even change our dates. So just be aware that if you reserve that's it. And if you have questions, good luck because it will take days or weeks to get an answer and when you do, its most likely wrong. I would recommend many other places in the area but would never recommend this. read more

My niece invited me to her wedding which is to be held at Largo Resort. I have a disability that requires me to walk with a cane or a walking stick. I called the resort to double check the ADA accommodations. I was told that this venue has NO ADA compliance. This facility should not be allowed to rent space without proper compliance. Needless to say....I am unable to attend her wedding. My family is traveling from Louisville, KY. This non compliance issue is absolutely unexceptable. It is dangerous for anyone when u have paths with no handrails. There are steps going to all parts of the venue with no handrails. I give them 0 stars. I missed the most important day of my niece's life because of their negligence. They offered no solution such as staff to assist, etc. Simply said this is unfortunate. read more

Let's say the place is beautiful and our wedding went amazing. This is not because of the resort staff but because of our planer, caters , flower company etc. from the time we booked 1.5 years ago, we went thru 4 different people in charge of the resort. They were all wonderful till the newest company/people. The front staff acted like they could care less about buy out. We had talked to them about items missing from when we signed up. They kept bringing up a storm that took it all. This "storm" was well over 6 months prior to our wedding. Their site had said there is kayaks. They were non existent. When we asked them to rent them for us. They said the rental companies would charge them $4000. We called a rental company and paid ourself $100 for two for the weekend buy out. This included delivery and pickup. There was zero attempt to make us feel welcome. We spoke to them a week prior that we would be arriving at noon with their permission. Upon arrival the front desk girl told us check in is not till 4. Once we walked out to go to our car all of sudden it was ready. I'm sorry but if the bride and groom are checking in , have a bottle of champagne or something waiting. Thank your guests for arriving. Then came the issues with the resort. A FL cold front moved in. The pool heater worked for the 1st day, after that it broke. Never worked rest of the weekend. Putting the pool into high 60 degs. My parents had termites boring a hole into their bedroom ceiling. Dropping dust onto the floor. Then the brides father who's battling cancer - had no hot water to shower during the stay. They kept resetting the breaker and saying it's okay only for it to trip again. He was also locked out of the room at one point. There is no one at all on site at night. We looked for someone for over 30 mins. We had to send a 10 year old thru the window to unlock it. Then their ac leaked all over their wedding cloths. Upon check out she asked the owner to call, who never did. Brandi emailed her and said they are to blame them for the ac saying they opened the window in a bathroom, and the window broke. But really it was the drain line on the mini split that clogged. Also I do hvac and plumbing for a living. Opening a window will not cause an ac to leak. They told her they should have thrown them out for having someone climb it he window to unlock the door. Even though again , no one was on site. She also told them it was her fault for leaving the key. Again not sorry it stopped working, it was well you should have taken a key for an auto lock. This is all emailed by Brandi the same Brandi that knew we were supposed to have a meeting the day they fired the last team yet didn't get on the zoom call with or call us, or email us. We had to find out. 4 days later after the scheduled 60 day call. The same Brandi that came down to our room with an attitude telling us about the storm from 6 months ago. And they had not bought anything new because it all needs branded and researched. I even though not one thing in that place is branded. The maintenance men are about the only staff I can say did a great job. But the new management Company working there needs a crash course on customer service. Everything is an excuse with attitude. I feel bad moving forward while they are still there any bride and groom. read more

Beautiful. So much more than we had imagined. And we imagined a lot. From the moment we pulled in, we felt an air of non-pretentious exclusivity. Perfect. The rooms were spacious, clean, modern- elegant. The grounds were peaceful and beautiful. Lush with wildlife-- a collection of palm species, orchid bulbs flourishing amongst the trees, exotic flowers and their fruits, blossoming. The sounds of nature pervading. We could have spent our entire time walking through the grounds and enjoying the flora & fauna that's been cultivated. As a wannabe/ 100% non-nature buff who oh-so-badly wants to love the great outdoors but is also oh-so-very (very) not ok with an insect-- any insect-- coming into my periphery: this place allowed to me don my nature-lover cap without having to worry too much about any critterycrawlingcreepies. The pool, kayaking, bikes, paddle boards: wonderful add on. Cherry on top of the nature-cap. The showers, sheets, and views were relaxing, comfortable; so much so that my girlfriend request I praise them as "divine" here. Writing this review as we plan out our next vacation there. We rented the Shore House. There were three adults and three children so we thought with three bedrooms, it would be perfect. Unfortunately, while the kitchen was well equipped, there was no kitchen table or any dining area. You had to stand at the counter or sit on the couch. The couch was the only sitting item in the living room which was also problematic unless we wanted to sit in a row squished together. There was only overhead lighting in the bedrooms so you had to get up to turn lights off or on. The decor - especially the artwork - is strange; looked like cheap thrift shop finds that did not match the Bali look the owners are going for. Definitely not "luxurious" as described - the photographer who did the pictures for the website make everything look much more spectacular than it is. The bathrooms were very nice and the pool was wonderful. Other than that, my thought is Largo Resort is a "work in progress" that does not yet live up to the website descriptions. read more

I loved this place so much. I live in Miami and have stayed at a lot of the resorts in Key Largo for mini vacations and this is definitely one of my new favorites. My friends and I had an amazing weekend here lounging by the pool, paddling with the kayaks and paddleboards they offer, and eating at all the amazing restaurants they have within walking distance. I was a little skeptical at first when I realized they didn't have a bar and didn't offer breakfast, but it ended up being a blessing cause we brought what we liked to drink and ate all the amazing local food without having to get in the car. The room was HUGE and we loved that it had two bathrooms, everything was so luxurious and the showers were amazing. The beds were super comfortable (my other friend slept on the Murphy bed and said it was great). The pool was big enough that we were able to have privacy if we wanted or socialize with the other guests if we wanted. Everyone was nice and we had a great time talking to the other guests. The pool was gorgeous and the view was amazing! Don't miss out on this gem. read more

Wow i can go on and on about Largo Resort. So for the first part, This place is like NO other venue in the Florida keys (we visited everywhere from Miami to key west). This place IS paradise. It's a unique and hidden gem. We are always in awe every time we visit. Largo Resort is the perfect venue to have your closest friends and family stay with you on your special weekend. IT has a gorgeous view of the bay with an amazing drift wood wedding arch included. The tiki, house, bar, Buddha's and statues, large trees, around the property make you feel like you've stepped foot into Bali! The house itself is out of this world! I love the earthy rustic and peaceful vibe the property gives off. I plan to be back every year for our anniversary:) Second, the staff... Sabrina and Jeffrey are some of the most coolest, easy going people you can meet in the industry. Both very handy, hard working and knowledgeable. Sabrina handled my Day of Coordinating .. and more! She made sure our wedding rehearsal and wedding day went completely smoothly! Sabrina took the time to answer all my emails and phone calls.. and accommodated me to visit the venue as much as i wanted! She helped go over all details a long the process. Sabrina also handles all rentals and full bar if needed. It's great how much she can do! I also had the pleasure to work with Vanessa, she assisted us in all our needs and checked in our guest. We loved how friendly she was with everyone! My wedding went incredibly flawless. I had a 100+ Guest, aprox 9 vendors and A LOT of details for my wedding and on top of that, about 25 guest staying in property. 'Paradise' We spent five wonderful days at Largo Resort. We celebrated our daughter's 21st while we were there. To say they went above and beyond for us, is an understatement. Every person working at the resort was really lovely. Victor gave us great local knowledge and tips on where to go! We had a minor issue with our first room - Sabrina upgraded us to the most amazing house! She completely overcompensated for such a minor issue, but it made the trip even more idyllic. The housekeeping staff went to great lengths decorating my daughter's room to wish her a happy 21st. Our younger kids had a blast in the pool, we met some new friends and had barbecues by the pool. We had encounters with the biggest (friendly!!) iguanas I've ever seen! Our room view was like a postcard. There are complimentary paddle boards, snorkeling gear, kayaks and pool toys available on site, as well as the use of the Weber grill - we used them all several times. The location is excellent, right next to Dolphins Plus and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, as well as restaurants supermarkets etc. The finishes in every room are very high end, the attention to detail is meticulous, from the towels to the toiletries, the beds and bedding - everything feels luxurious. Overall, I cannot rate this place enough. We will most definitely be back .. if you're going to Florida Keys - go here - you will be glad you did! read more

My husband and I and 2 of our kids (ages 15 and 11) stayed here for 2 nights in April. I was a little reluctant to book it because I could only find a couple of reviews online and I think one said it wasn't in a great area. My family LOVED it here. I believe we were in Twilight (can't believe I've already forgotten!) This is a SMALL resort. There are just a few duplex-type cottages and then one large house that can be rented. This means that it is NOT crowded. It feels like an oasis. When we arrived, they were playing oldies music from speakers hidden along the pebble driveway. It was fun and happy. The 'lobby' for check-in is a converted old Airstream RV. The gal wasn't particularly friendly, but she was fine. When we walked into our cottage, we were thrilled. It was so beautiful and plenty of room for all of us. The master bathroom was GORGEOUS, and even the second bath was really pretty. There was a nice sitting area where we could all sit and watch TV or read for a bit. There was a second TV in the bedroom... a must for my husband. There were cute beach towels hung by the door that were changed each day. The walkways have tropical trees with amazing orchids growing right on them. It was fun to just stroll along and take photos of them. The pool was heated, so even a pool wimp (hate cold) like me could enjoy a nice dip in the pool. There were never more than 2 or 3 people at the pool when we were there, and we mostly had it to ourselves. A family had rented the big house and had a wedding on the little pier while we were there. It was fun to get to watch from a distance. There are awesome huge lizards/iguanas wandering around and some amazing birds visited, too. You CAN go into the water from the small beach there, but there's a lot of plant life growing and it just didn't look very appealing. We stuck to the pool. They had some sun floatation things for the kids, too. The sunsets and view are beautiful. None of us wanted to leave, although after a couple days, we had run out of things do in Key Largo. I would recommend this place to anyone. It was beautiful and spacious. Downside: No food/store/vending at all. You have to pretty much drive down the road to get to any food/drinks. Stop at the store and get some drinks. (You have a mini-fridge.) read more

If you're looking for a resort that is going to pamper you with a poolside tiki bar and a spa, this is not the place for you. Turning into the driveway, you'll wonder if you're in the right place despite the fact that you just drove past their sign. It looks like a private residence with a heavily wooded stone driveway. It's located close to everything you'll probably need. Pennekamp State park is less than a mile away, as is a Publix and a liquor store. Lots of restaurant choices just up the road as well. The whole motel only has 8 or 9 rooms and they're pretty small, but they're really nice. Most of them have screened porches. They all have flat screen tv's (with only the most basic cable channels), microwaves, fridges, safes and are stocked with wine glasses, corkscrews and silverware. The rooms all have free wi-fi and have enough bandwidth to stream netflix. Like the rooms, the bathrooms and shower stalls are a bit small. What this place lacks in size, it makes up in beauty. There is a small garden with plants and flowers. The yard has decorations and cool lights that are turned on after sunset. Speaking of sunset - there is a jetty with enough lounge chairs and tables to accommodate all the guests as you watch the sun set in the distance. It's not over water, but it's still really nice. Aside from lounging around, the only other activity that the lodge offers is the free use of their kayaks and their small launch. The only complaint about this place is their beds. Sleeping on the floor might be more comfortable than sleeping on those things. I'm talking so uncomfortable that I almost considered docking a star off their rating. If peacefulness and tranquility is more important to you than being waited on hand and foot, this is the place for you. read more

I'm hesitant to post a review because that means other people will find out about this place. It's the kind of private spot you want to keep all to yourself. We stayed in the most expensive option, the waterfront unit, which has a private porch that looks out over the beach and the bay. It was perfect. There is a beach area and dock with chairs and tables for all the guests to use but it was still very quiet and felt very private. We hired someone to come and give us a massage on the back porch of our unit with the wind rustling through the trees. Very cool. The grounds are gorgeous - lush and green. It's not fancy. But I would much rather give up some of the amenities of a chain hotel to stay here in this private oasis. The waterfront room has a small kitchenette. The overall room is a good size with a king bed, a desk, a chair, and the kitchenette. The private porch is a nice spot to eat a meal or two. The bed in our room was comfortable. The bathroom was dated, but was a good size and had great water pressure. I feel like it was a great bargain for the money. The money we saved staying here was much better spent on the massages, glass bottom boat tour, and sunset sail. If we go back to Largo, this is where we'll stay. read more

We had 22 total people including 11 kids ages 2yo - 18yo. Perfect location, amenities & private. Kids could run around safely. While staying here, my wife and I met the owner and we actually joked with her that we didn't want to review this place because people would find out about it and we couldn't keep it to ourselves! It's THAT good. While you'll hear the term "hidden gem" almost everywhere in the Keys, the Largo Resort is unlike any other hidden gem we've ever found. It is a gated, small scale resort that you would NEVER just stumble upon. Once you enter the gates, it is truly paradise. The bungalows are well appointed and tastefully finished with European fixtures and design but retain a "Keys" charm. The infinity pool is incredible and overlooks the Tarpon Basin, which is home to numerous yachts and sailboats. There is an oversized dock which is used for wedding ceremonies but is perfect for catching a Keys sunset. Kayaks and paddle boards are available for no extra charge to roam the open water if you so desire. You are also a very short distance from numerous great restaurants which is an added bonus. Wow! After a total renovation a couple of years ago, this place has all the privacy and stunning views I read about, but so much more! An infinity pool is carved into the gardens (heated in early November so even fraidy-cats like me loved it, sipping Sauvignon Blanca as I watched the sun set). The guest house my husband and I stayed at was a perfect combination of luxury and comfort. We have two daughters and I couldn't imagine a more beautiful location for a wedding, with vows said under a beautiful trellis built of driftwood at the end of the private dock at sunset. The double tiki hut with Balinese lounging furniture looks like a spread in Architectural Digest. We went to dinner our last night there at the Marriott down the highway - also beautiful! but I prefer the privacy, intimacy and connection to nature at Largo Resort. Sigh, so beautiful and relaxing. BE AWARE that this place is a scam! It's not a resort they charge an arm and a leg and it's more like a venue for events. The people who run it are ridiculous and rude. The woman who I met was so completely out of touch with reality that she had the nerve to say that if I can't afford it there is a hotel down the street. Thanks sweetie but I can afford it just fine but won't be paying your 7,000 a night price. This is where it gets too funny. I wanted to know if they were a hotel or a home or what and she said we are an "eco friendly" place to escape and find your inner self. WT# was she smoking that day. She was going in circles to answer questions and then she said that we couldn't rent one night or two or even three it was 4 nights and that we need to book the entire place. If you are looking for a place to stay or even have your wedding DO NOT RENT HERE, over rated sub par quality people and way over rated location. Obscured ocean views and really bad service. I felt like I wanted to run out of there. Someone should seriously investigate what is going on there it's really strange and the people really strange and the woman way out of touch. At one point I felt like telling her to be quiet but good thing I'm polite. Go down the road there is a similar property we rented through the Marriott and it's absolutely better. Here you would have to sell a Kidney and deal with nonsense. read more

I was lucky enough to find this perfect resort for a surprise weekend for our wedding anniversary April '18; and have already since returned 4 times this year and also brought guests. We have a 1 yr old daughter and a favourite bungalow we stay in, but last weekend stayed in the Grand Lodge; and I have nothing but great things to say about the resort, the getaway from living in Fort Lauderdale and the atmosphere set by Sabrina & Jeffrey; perfect. If you're looking for fully packaged amenities, bars & restaurants then you need a hotel. If your looking for a little bit of paradise, then here it is. It is fantastic. read more

We stayed at Largo Lodge for the first two nights of a honeymoon trip. We loved the atmosphere and appearance of this jungle paradise of a Hotel. The owners keep their amazing tropical garden grounds in an immaculate, natural and "wild" condition that makes you feel as if you are in your own private rain forest. This is not for the traveler that wants to be guided around for a resort experience. Additionally, this resort is not for children, which should be a bonus for adult travelers. This hotel is on the beach, bay side. They have a very charming water front dock and beach with chairs, and kayaks that you can take out. Try paddling over to the nearby Dolphin rescue facility, just a few hundred yards around to the right. One example of the charm of this hotel, is that the owners apparently keep a wading pool with feed at the waterside to help shelter a flock of Avocet birds that are there every morning. The rooms are also very nice and clean, and include "garden rooms" and some separate cabins. Strongly recommend! read more

My wife and I live in South Florida and we have taken weekend getaways to Largo Lodge many times. Recently we went back after not staying there for a few months. We had friends in from out of town and wanted to show off our find. We found that they had upgraded the seating on their dock overlooking the beautiful bay and added a Cabana for lounging. This was nice to see but I must admit that our reception was less then enjoyable. I called to book this room a week or so in advance and while doing so I mentioned that we would only be able to stay for one night (Saturday) as my guests needed to fly home on Sunday. When we arrived we encountered a maintenance man who could not find our reservation. He told us that he did not have anything for us. When I provided my confirmation he called one of the owners who came to help. We were greeted by a angry owner (who it turns out is the one who took my reservation over the phone). We discovered that the reservation had been made for Sunday night not Saturday. I am not sure how this happened as I mentioned during the reservation process that my guests needed to fly home on Sunday. He then told me in front of my wife and guests that "This is your problem, You did this". Needless to say we were not happy and eventually he found two small rooms on the property for us to stay this night. I will agree with other visitor comments that this is a nice quiet location and very peaceful with many restaurants and activities close by. Just do not expect any significant level of customer service and double check your confirmation if you call in for your reservation. Unfortunately the way we were treated has soured our experience there and we likely will not return. read more
