General - My family stayed here for one night while we were driving through the Florida Keys for our winter getaway trip in January 2025 (crazy enough, winter followed us and we enjoyed mid 50's in Key West, sheesh). Location - The hotel is right off of Interstate 1 and in the middle of Key Largo. You are just down the road from a Publix, shopping center, and a number of restaurants. John Pennecamp State Park is really close as well. Rooms & Building - The hotel is going for a retro tropical tiki vibe. It is probably not for everyone but I digged it. Rooms are spacious and offer the typical Hampton Inn layout. The grounds were not like typical Hamptons though, well manicured and full of beautiful tropical plants. This location had a much more Hilton resort vibe without the resort price. Amenities - The hotel had a small beach area that overlooked the ocean. You can borrow kayaks to take out on the water but it was so windy the day we were there, you would have no luck getting anywhere (we watched a poor couple try to no avail). There is a pool with a pool bar but everything was so cold, it was closed and the pool was somewhat uncomfortable to swim due to the temps and wind, so we passed. Food - Pool bar was closed but we did enjoy the free breakfast buffet. Typical Hampton Inn offerings including make your own waffles, eggs, breakfast meat and an assortment of continental offerings. My kids loved that there was a ton of toppings (including key lime syrup!) available for the waffles, we made some pretty crazy combos. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. No complaints. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - It was more than what I normally would pay for a Hampton Inn at $240 a night but the Keys are spendy during tourist season. Too bad it was so cold it didn't feel much like it! Oh well, our MN luck. Weather aside, the property was nice and it would have been cool to utilize the water sports and water area. On a nicer day, I feel like these would be great bonuses to the property and added value to the stay. If I'm back in Key Largo, I'll give this place another view. read more

I really love this place! It's a great location! It seems so small, but yet when you start navigating it, there is quite a bit of property. It's a little confusing at first, but you catch on pretty quick. There is a great beachfront area with lots of lounge chairs to watch the sunrise or sunset or just feel like you are right on the ocean. This is almost right across the street from Jon Penny camp State Park. I went snorkeling and went right back to my room. It was all an amazing experience! There are several great restaurants and stores to shop around here. Oh, and let's not forget the warm cookies when you arrive! Just like all Hamptons, this place offers an amazing breakfast offering for free. Everything from homemade waffles to scones. The lead attendance name was Norma and she was so passionate about her job and about making people happy and keeping the area clean and tidy and stocked. It was a pleasure meeting her! read more

Black mold. Bedbugs. Cockroaches. Dirty socks under the bed. Inches of dust covering everything including the ac vent. Impossible to breathe. Dirty sheets with blood stains and human hair all over the place. Urine on the walls. Dirty black fingerprints on the walls. They did offer me another room but opted to sleep in the car after reading all the other reviews and realizing a new room wouldn't have fixed the problem. My grandmothers room also had a smell so bad it nearly knocked you over. Avoid at all costs. read more

The grounds are well-maintained, and the location is great, with a lagoon beach area that offers free kayaks for paddling. There's also a cute Tiki bar area with a bar and lounge outside, providing views of the water. The pool area is well-lit at night, and the rooms are spacious, with a king bedroom that includes a sink, microwave, and a larger refrigerator. A new flat-screen television is also available. Our family had a pleasant stay here. It is clean, service is friendly, complimentary breakfast included, decent sized gym, outdoor pool and lounge chairs, small beaches where you can rent a paddle for kayaking. I am knocking off one star only because the walls are so thin and you can definitely hear people yelling or even just talking or watching movies next door. read more

Great location in Key Largo just across from John Pennekamp State Park. We used it as base camp to visit the park. Close to great restaurants as well as McDonalds (need my iced coffee) and Starbucks (hubby likes his Pike). Private beach was small but great sunset view. Water is stagnant but we enjoyed a manta-tee sighting and the iguanas. read more

The hotel was reasonably priced for the area. Very clean great staff with lots of amenities. hot breakfast,nice pool, beach, gym, paddle kayaks, washer and dryer. there is a lot of wildlife there also (manatees iguanas and even a crocodile). The sunset view is spectacular. There is an excellent cruise that departs from the back of the hotel. Try the sunset cruise with Captain Larry. You see the whole island in the two and a half hour cruise including a beautiful sunset, dolphins, manatees, and several species of birds. It was the highlight of our trip. If I could give 3 1/2 stars I would. Room was typical Hampton Inn room.... clean & comfortable. Staff was fantastic except for Steve at the Tiki Bar.... he wasn't overly friendly. Polite but that is a about it. Front Desk, breakfast staff , hotel maids & general staff were all very friendly. Great location.... Right on the water but I can't say I would swim at the beach..... just not appealing. We spent almost all our time at the pool. Really enjoyed the hotel for the price. My biggest concern was the birds at the pool. They would jump in the pool to get a drink numerous times during the day then walk around the deck and poop near the entrance of the pool....Disgusting. read more

Stayed here 2 nights and wanted to leave the minute I walked in the room. Even though the room was clean and staff was nice the damp carpet and musty smell was terrible. I did ask if something could be done. Housekeeping showed up and sprayed the carpet which just made it more damp. I do not recommend this hotel unless you go check the room first. They told me they shampoo carpet because they are pet friendly. read more

The rooms were very dated and old. Bedding, bath etc. Door was warped and showed signs of needing to be replaced. The breakfast servers would not refill eggs and oatmeal even though they had many many people waiting. Would but recommend this hotel for the price. read more

We had an excellent mini vacation here. Check-in was seamless. The gal staffing the front desk was great. After checking into our room, we received a call (text) to make sure everything was okay. We were checked on everyday to make sure we didn't need anything. Maid service is on request which was fine. And if we needed anything replaced or fixed, we just had to call or drop by the front desk. Our room had all the necessary amenities -- small refrigerator, coffee maker, large flat screen tv, well working air conditioning, large king size bed, desk, sofa, bar sink, etc. My only quibble would be that the immovable glass door in the large tiled shower only covered one half of the shower. And the bathroom floor got a tad wet each time it was used. Also it would have been nice to have an outlet in the bedside lamp to plug in my phone charger -- only one side had outlets. But these are minor. There's also a pool, a small beach, and an area where you can fish. The exercise room is in a separate building. Everything there was clean and in working order. Throughout the property, there are stations with cleansing wipes and sanitizer. The hotel is two stories and there's an elevator. The included breakfast was very good. Lots of choices for all sorts of diets. Even fresh fruit. The area and tables are cleaned often. I would definitely return. read more

Just had a one night stay at the Hampton Inn Key Largo. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in the area. Rooms were a bit dated but clean and very comfortable beds. I spent some time out near the beach and it was extremely relaxing just sitting by the water. I didn't use the pool but there were multiple people enjoying the water. Also the outdoor tiki bar was quite busy with comfortable bar stools and multiple seating areas under the roof. Juliana at the front desk was most accommodating and friendly. Great 1st impression when you walk into the hotel. read more

Stayed here on a quick day trip to key largo. It had everything I needed for the one night but it is def 3 stars. The hotel has beach chairs a beach a pool a pool bar that was never open when I went. Included breakfast which was standard. Clean rooms, did not interact with staff. Just solid for a quick 1 night stay. What an amazing and relaxing stay. The staff is so nice & polite & friendly. It was a seamless check-in and check-out process, (I use the Hilton Honors App so checkout was done digitally). The maintenance, housekeeping and kitchen staff greeted me, the front desk always greeted me and were so wonderful with my dogs. We stay in a lot of hotels and resorts and this particular Hampton Inn truly delivers on exceptional service. Jolayne & Erta went above and beyond making us feel welcomed and appreciated. The property is very nice, has a nice small stretch of beach which leads into an evening tiki bar and/or coveted place to sit and unwind 24/7. We chose a room for the view and it was just as nice as hoped for. My dogs are very well behaved, and we are a "leave no trace" pack so we muddled around on the beach and got some pets from other guests missing their furry babies. It was all around a lovely, very quiet, very peaceful and enjoyable stay. Even got some laundry done easily which I appreciate traveling for so many months; it being attached to the gym makes it easy to motivate for a little workout time if you need it. This is a tough review. I'm conflicted with 2 polarized facets of the hotel business that are at 2 ends of a hospitality spectrum, customer service versus cleanliness/maintenance. Let's start with the positive. Customer service: 5/5 stars. The front desk staff and all staff were helpful and willing to make our experience as good as possible. Warm cookies at the front desk, cork screws provided to assist our wine tasting, etc. Housekeeping/maintenance: 2/5 stars. Not that it should matter, but our oceanfront room was $400/night. The shower was moldy with hair in the shower drain. The balcony furniture was dirty and needed to be cleaned. I went ahead and cleaned everything with a soapy rag. The AC unit has a condensate leak which hasn't been repaired in months. Condensate drips down from the back of the unit and mold is growing across the balcony where it is dripping (yes, I'm in the construction business and can identify the problem). The balcony table was beat up and broken and needs replacement. I think you get the picture. The backbone and fundamentals of the hospitality business is cleanliness and maintenance of the facility. Whoever is responsible for this aspect of this hotel should be fired. As a business Owner, I know it's my responsibility to train and provide an environment of accountability with my staff. This is currently not working well at this property. This is a a beautiful property that needs attention to detail and some TLC. Once that is accomplished, it can be the 5 star hotel that it truly can be. read more

This is the second time we've stayed here. The first I don't really remember, I was in town for a funeral, and nothing mattered except that I had a bed to sleep in. I did remember the ceiling fans though. It was comforting. The second time I visited was a vacation, so my experience was a lot different. The rooms are nice and big, and as a mentioned previously, I really appreciate the fans. The building itself is really musty smelling. At Times, in specific areas, almost offensive. The workout room is ok, it's a building completely separate than the others. The beach is nice, except that when we were out there, people pulled their boats up and started cleaning their fish and throwing all the fish scraps into the water feet from where my kids were swimming. The pool was great, breakfast was a great, and the staff was super friendly. I would definitely visit again. read more

For our first visit to Key Largo the Hampton Inn had everything we wanted! We got a room on the second floor and it had a little balcony, which was nice! The room had a beachy vibe and felt like you weren't in a normal hotel. The breakfast was on point as expected at a Hampton, but there are smoothies and fresh juices that are included as well. The hotel provides beach/pool towels which is great when you are traveling. The pool has plenty of seating, but the "beach area" is the best. You can swim in the water, pay to rent kayaks, or lay out and enjoy the beautiful water views and watch the boats go by. Make sure to watch the sunset at least one night, it is romantic and beautiful to watch! We got to see iguanas, manatees, and different species of birds! Soooo awesome. The Hampton is super close to the park where you Can hike or do a glass bottom boat tour. It is also walking distance to Alfredos restaurant which hAs a huge variety of options. read more

I'm a fan of Hilton properties, but this has to be one of the nicest I've ever stayed at. First, location cannot be beat. Right on the water, the hotel has a private beach area complete with kayak rentals and a tiki bar. The rooms are spacious and all have patios or balconies with seating. The water views from the rooms aren't great but they are all well situated to outdoor activities. The hotel has no restaurant but does serve a hot breakfast and they have a well stocked pantry for items for purchase. If you are headed to the Keys, this is a location worth checking out. read more

Stayed for one night prior to doing a snorkel tour and on the way to Key West. Many of the reviews on Yelp for many hotels in the area weren't great but got much better reviews on hotels.com where we booked. Overall it was a fairly standard hotel of its class. Common areas and rooms weren't brand spanking new, but weren't shabby either. Not sure if all the rooms are like it, but we had two double beds which is much smaller than we are used to. My wife ended up moving in the middle of the night. There is only one elevator and it's in the middle of the building. We were all the way at the front end so had a long walk down the hallway. Free breakfast was better than expected. Pastries, yogurts, cereal and fruit were all as normal. The waffle machine was a regular feature, but they had a second flavor of batter (cinnamon swirl) as well as some alternate toppings and syrups. They also had pre-made western omelettes and kielbasa slices. In the back of the hotel was a VERY warm pool (+80°) which was great on a cool January night. There was a tiki bar serving drinks which we didn't get. They also had a little private beach area which we only used when sipping coffee in the morning. read more

Spent one night here to start our keys trip. The hotel building is not very impressive itself. Rooms could use a little updating although they had some nice tropical touches. It's the grounds and the amenities that make this place so nice. Free hot breakfast is always a great start. A nice warm pool is also a great touch, but then you have the tiki bar and the beach access on top of that. With the beach access comes the opportunity to rent kayaks and paddle boards which we definitely took advantage of. My wife and I rented the 2-person kayak in the morning. The hotel is on the bay/gulf side of the keys and is actually along the Tarpon Basin so the water is nice and calm. Our rental was for an hour and you can really travel a good distance in that time. We saw a ton of manatees and made our way next door to the dolphin rescue and saw a few swimming around inside there. Great way to start a day out on the water. You don't go to the keys to spend time in doors, so I have no problem giving this hotel a 4-star rating even though the hotel itself isn't that impressive. It's fine, but the setting is just what we needed along with the access to the water. Come for the beach, pool, views, and free breakfast. read more

The best service was from the young lady who checked us in. She was the sweetest and most informative receptionist. Our room was located in the second floor. I felt as if the AC in the hallways were not working so well. It all felt very stuffy, and with the Florida Heat outside it did not make it any better. This hotel is located in a very convenient spot, near many eateries and markets. This hotel really needs a major makeover. It is starting to look worn out. Some parts of the hallways had a weird smell to it. Our room was great, we found some used paper underneath our bed and an uncapped coke bottle inside our mini fridge, but nothing big. The pool area is great, the water is kept very clean. I will continue coming, but hopefully the renovate soon. read more

I love their Great customer service. The front desk greeter at around 4 pm is the nicest lady, please keep her. The Location is great, easy to find. The Hilton Mobile Ap checkin allows you to obtain your digital key, have the ability to choose my room. The only reason I stopped at the front desk is to get duplicate key cards for my none techy girlfriends. The hot breakfast is great, the manager Chivone is super helpful. They give nice warm cookies like the double tree in, it's a great treat. The property has a private beach, with lounging area and a bar in the back, but love the PRIVACY!! I have stayed at Hampton Inn's all over the US. This is by far the most expensive one I have ever stayed at. We paid over $300 a night for a Standard room with a King bed. But it's in the Keys and everything is costly. However, it's right on the bay and the hotel has its own beach. The pool area is small but you can swim in the bay. The water is pretty calm. One day we had 3 Manatee's hang out for hours just a few yards from the beach. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with a fridge and microwave. They have a pretty decent complimentary breakfast with many food choices, both hot aand good coffee. Some rooms are better than others. All have a balcony or patio area. My room was on the 1st floor with a view of the parking lot. Ask for a second floor room. Some rooms have a obstructed view of the bay. Overall, not a bad place to stay if you are in Key Largo. But it's not cheap! read more

Better than anticipated! We booked a last minute weekend getaway at October. We decided to go to the Florida Key's,Key Largo was the perfect destination not too far south on Route 1. We were specifically looking for a hotel within the Hilton group where small dogs are permitted,The Hampton Inn at Key Largo was perfect! Check in was easy,Hotel was clean (that being said towels need special attention by the housekeeping....they weren't spotless....) Anyways overall the hotel was clean and upgraded to tropical Tommy Bahama style. Updated bathrooms,with walk-in shower. Microwave,fridge and kitchen sink was also in the room. All second floor rooms have a balcony. We stayed at room 209,our room was facing the canal and the parking lot. It was quiet and relaxing. Lash tropical landscaping surrounds the building. We seen iguanas,ibises,squirrels from our balcony. The iguanas are huge!!!! Hotel has a small private beach ,fishing docks,tiki bar and kayak and SUP rental. We snorkeled on the bach and seen lots of fish and other see life. At the evening there are a few manatees that like to visit the shores. It was amazing to watch them playing in the water. We also rented a kayak,and explored the nearby mangroves for a few hours.Kayaks and SUP were pretty rundown...And honestly there is not much to see there...Especially if you are from Florida.We kayaked around the mangroves and logged in about 5 miles of peddling.There weren't any beaches where we could get out,but the wildlife was amazing.We seen manatees,tropical birds,fish and some sunken boats too. If you looking for a tropical kayak adventure you'll enjoy peddling much more at the state park across Route 1. Hotel's Beach is a great spot to watch the sunset from a lounge chair or from the small tiki bar with a delicious cocktail in hand. I want to start by saying this is by no means the Hampton inn workers fault. They all seemed to be very respectful and hardworking. I think Hampton inn bought a old motel and changed the name. COCKROACHES in the bedroom, I mean HUGE ones. Terrible smell of mold, sink wouldn't drain, carpet was not damp but WET from humidity along with the bed. I woke up with what felt like a sinus infection on day one. I wouldn't sleep here again if it was free. The outside area was a nice escape from my nasty room. Sheets and towels were at least clean. Last but not least maintenance barged into my room without knocking first. read more
