We had an incredible stay at Islander Resort! This was our first time to Islamorada and Islander Resort was the perfect place to stay. The staff was incredibly friendly, the property was beautiful and well kept, the rooms were newly renovated, and the amenities amazing. We booked our reservation a few months prior. The website wasn't super user friendly but the reviews looked great so we went ahead and booked. The pictures don't do this place justice. We were able to check-in an hour early. The person who checked us in was so welcoming and had many dinner and activity recommendations for us. We then found our room. I loved the layout of the resort. You can park right in front of your room. There are about 6 rooms per block. Everything looked new, the room design was so modern and comfortable, except for our bathroom. I would have thought the shower would have been more updated. I loved that each room had their own private patio. The bed was incredibly comfortable, they had a great AC unit, overall great. My only complaint was that the shower hot water was inconsistent. Sometimes it would take minutes to warm up and the first night we never got hot water. From our room you could walk a sand path down to the pool and beach area. The grounds were stunning, everything is so well maintained. They have a great restaurant, couch seating area with ocean views, beach lounging, pool, dock, basketball court, bikes, and golf putting course right on the water. The two pools were so nice. They have endless fresh towels, an outdoor bar, and the cleanest outdoor style bathrooms I've ever been in. The outdoor bar had a good menu but not the most helpful or efficient bartenders. They had everything you could imagine. They also had pickleball courts which we used many mornings. They also offer fun activities such as movie night on the beach, painting coconuts, science expo, trivia, etc. The resort is a great size. It never felt too crowded, it's not too big, and the quality is very noticable. Overall an amazing stay, we can't wait to come back!

Great secluded spot in the Keys. Multiple pools, beach access with free access to paddle board & kayaks, and arguably the best key lime colada I had while on my Florida Keys vacation. Unfortunately when we arrived, there was some sort of maintenance issue in one of the rooms we originally booked which delayed our check in time by a few hours. In reading the reviews, it sounds like maintenance issues are somewhat common. But the customer service was great; they were apologetic and gave us a couple drink coupons for the beach bar (where I discovered the delicious key lime coladas). When the maintenance took longer than expected, they ended up just upgrading one of our rooms to a premium suite. We ended up with probably one of the best rooms in the whole resort- beachfront and equipped with a full kitchen, living room, separate bedroom and soaking tub. Really turned around our day after having to wait several hours to check in. Overall had a lovely stay and even our other basic room was comfortable and spacious.

Stayed here again in August 2025, and we got to see the place after all the construction was done, and it was great. The pool that they were working on was great and so were all the activities that were put on the grounds. Every resort should have the golf cart that takes you around to surrounding stores and restaurants. A little disappointed they didn't give the free sunglasses or alcohol like last time.

Everything! This is the best kept secret. Where can you watch the sunrise on the water... then go across the street and catch it set? Capturing the extraordinary experience, the thoughtful staff, the carefully appointed details... all of which make your feel like family and provide a runway to make memories. Joy, Josh, and all the staff truly go out of their way to enrich your experience. Comfortable, casual and elevated! The food is delectable too. There is so much to do at and around the resort. Check out a bike and explore. Do a boat trip, hit the dive bars or enjoy the refined elegance resortside.

This was our first time here and we will certainly be back! The rooms are renovated and decor is beachy and cute. The rooms have a small desk, mini fridge, TV, couch and a closet with bathrobes. The back patio area is very spacious with a table and chairs for eating as well as a few loungers. The room felt more like a private villa and we loved it! The beach area is rather large with a dedicated swimming area and beach chairs. They have kayaks and paddle boards available, free of charge. They also have bikes which we used and enjoyed. They have the beach setup for cornhole, volleyball, ping pong, basketball, etc. The swimming pool area has two pools- saltwater and chlorine, as well as hot tub. They were undergoing renovations but they still had a bar available and Rachel was making amazing Mai Tais! They have dedicated activities on each day but I believe they may all come with a cost, which wasnt indicated on the daily sheet they provide. We showed up for tie dye and it cost us $20 per shirt. I wasn't thrilled about that but you live and learn.

We recently spent 10 days at the Islander Resort in Islamorada, FL; it was our first trip to the Keys after many years of vacationing near Sarasota on the Gulf side of the state. Suffice to say that it was an awesome and wonderful surprise to discover what we have been missing all this time! We arrived right after a complete renovation of both the grounds and lodging had been completed; the results are magnificent! It is a tranquil, lush tropical paradise with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing getaway. Our room was a 'poolside cabana room' that gave immediate access to the pool, as well as easy access to the beach & restaurants. The room exceeded all of our expectations, and included a coffee maker, fridge and in-room safe. Waking up to bright, golden sunrises over the ocean each morning never got old! The property is large and affords everyone room to relax while looking out over the ocean in your own personal space without feeling crowded. At night fire pit tables and plush seating areas are a cozy place for a night cap or star gazing. Additionally, one end of the resort offers guests recreational activities such as miniature golf, bocce ball, basketball, bicycles, kayaks, etc. The activity in this area is far enough away to not interfere with the beach & pool serenity. The two beautiful pools offer poolside bar service. Islander Resort offers two on site restaurants Drift & Tides along with a food truck. Tides is a fun, lively outdoor pull-up-a-chair bar scene where casual food is served, while Drift offers a more formal opportunity for breakfast and dinner while enjoying uninterrupted views of the water. Shouts out to Tim, Jen, Charles, Belle, Renee, Alexandra, Jamie, Todd & Madison...thanks for the wonderful hospitality! All the employees we had the pleasure to meet during our stay made sure we were well taken care of and happy. Everyone, from the moment you arrive till the day you depart, are focused on making your stay a memorable one. Big thanks to Victoria, Monique, Angela, Sara, Steven & Trish for making sure our stay was carefree in every way We liked it so much we extended our first stay twice and are heading back again just to make sure we weren't dreaming!

I had an amazing time at this resort!! It's extremely clean, pools are perfect and it's not over crowded whatsoever. There is beach access as well. Great food and drinks, with beach and poolside service! I can't wait to come back!

We were originally booked for the Bayside villas, when we arrived we were greeted by a large cockroach!! We went back to the Islander front desk and were immediately helped by Angela. She absolutely SAVED our trip!! She did everything she could to make sure we were satisfied. She went above and beyond and was so kind. We were travelling with another couple. She was able to work some magic and get both parties into separate rooms right at the resort. We both stayed in cabana rooms which were great! The only down side was there was no adult pool. The pool is nice but small. Bottom line, Angela is the best!!

First time staying at Islander Resort as we wanted a mini getaway. Upon arrival at the lobby, it is clean and service was attentive. There are two pools and a hot tub that overlooks the beach. We didn't try the restaurants as we brought our food. Overall, we had a nice time. Im rating this place a 4 stars as it appears they are super strict on the check in time for 4pm. Our party arrived at 1pm and I was hoping our room would be ready by 2pm since check out is 11am. Suggestion: more umbrellas are needed by the pool area.

Very relaxing resort with lots to offer. Rooms are renovated and very nice. Some rooms allow dogs. The resort offers two pools plus a hot tub. They even serve drinks by the pool. Lots of lounge chairs. Ocean front with lounge chairs and designed swimming area. They have bicycles and kayaks. Two restaurants- one for breakfast and the other for lunch and dinner. This resort makes you feel a world away from everything. No stress here. Great place to stay. You may never leave.

Does the Islander Resort have a dive shop or near a good dive shop?

No dive shop on premises. I can't respond regarding the quality of dive shops in the area, but it is the Keys, known for its diving, so how bad could they be?

However, we felt that the property is quite highly priced for what it offers. Unfortunately, our comfort was affected by a few issues in the room--the bed made noticeable noise even with slight movement, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Additionally, the air conditioner was quite loud, adding to the disturbance. Overall, while the cleanliness and easy check-in were definite positives, the noise issues and pricing did not quite match our expectations.

The hotel itself was very clean, and the room looked like it was recently remodeled. The bed had a European style bottom on it where I kept hitting my ankle and toes. The mattress was kind of soft, but the pillows were really nice and comfortable. The bathroom looked rather old, and the shower itself didn't have a door on it. So you risk getting water onto the bathroom on the floor when you're just taking a normal shower. I liked the rear room door which led to the pool area. The pool was a saltwater type and very inviting. This was a major plus for this Inn. Get the towels from the front office and pick a nice spot around the pool. This area really was well done Shopping is a breeze with the Publix grocery store just one mile south. Many great choices for restaurants are all within 2 miles. There are no places to cook inside the unit, but there is a microwave outback in case you wanna warm something. A small refrigerator is provided along with a coffee maker and Keurig coffee pods. Try not to book a room facing the street, as it gets rather noisy at night. Also, foot traffic during was rather loud up until midnight. There is a great value in staying here as the price for rooms are very reasonable. I think I paid $136 for the night. The two women at check-in were very polite and attentive to my needs. Questions were answered, I think I would stay here again if I didn't have a room up against the highway. Be sure to inquire first.

After 3 days my wife had to threaten the front desk staff with using towels to wipe her ass if the maids didn't restock the toilet paper in our room. Totally unacceptable for a resort. They kept assuring us the rooms service maids were coming in daily, but they never did until she threatened to come down and make a scene. The staff seemed unmotivated to complete even the basic cleaning tasks. We only asked for two coffee k cups, clean towels and the two room garbage cans to be emptied on a daily basis. That was just too demanding and the staff tried to mean-mug us when we came and went but finally got it done for the final two days of our visit. I'd advise you visit another property because the service is nonexistent and a total disappointment. Their on site restaurant was a joke as well. Completely overpriced and out of touch given the location. Every other restaurant we visited in the area was excellent, but theirs was almost always empty. The menu was way overpriced and there were countless local options that were much better and less expensive. Nearly all the staff on site see to be unwilling to provide service to customers and displaying a shitty attitude overall. Leadership changes need to take place or this property will crumble. Good location, just bad service with inadequate leadership supervision.

As Hilton Gold members, we were fortunate to receive a small room upgrade at booking, which we definitely appreciated. Let me start with the highlights the resort amenities are wonderful, especially for families. There were plenty of complimentary activities for kids during the day, and even fun nighttime events like dancing that were adorable and well thought out. It truly felt family-friendly, and there was always something going on to keep everyone entertained. The cutest was Santa pics with cookies and milk! The staff was attentive and kind throughout our stay, and honestly, that goes a long way. Great service can elevate an entire experience, and they really delivered on that front. That said, at nearly $1,000 per night during peak season, I did expect the facilities and rooms to be in better condition. The property has so much potential, but parts of it felt a bit rundown for the price point. The rooms could use some attention and deeper cleaning. I completely understand that this is a beachfront resort and sand is inevitable however we noticed quite a bit of sand throughout the room, even on the bed when it had been freshly made. I've stayed at other beach resorts where housekeeping was a bit more thorough in that regard. However nothing crazy but cleanliness is big in my book. One morning, there was also a cockroach at the coffee cart. My husband reported it right away to the front desk. The next few mornings the cart wasn't out, and I'm assuming they were addressing the situation, which I appreciate but it was still a bit off-putting. The on-site restaurants were good not extraordinary, but enjoyable and I felt the pricing there was fair considering it's a resort property. Overall, we had a great experience. The resort has incredible potential, and with a little more attention to upkeep especially considering the premium nightly rate it could easily be a five-star stay. The friendly staff and activities made a big difference.

He has his new wife with his wonderful plan to give her a beautiful bathtub and suddenly it all fell apart. The front desk was so kind though and I truly felt like they cared and felt terrible about this mistake. They really made up for it by giving us so many perks throughout our stay, including a beautiful room with the most amazing view. A shout out to their concierge, Ashley, who really assisted us in booking things! Now that aside, the resort itself is just soooooo relaxing! It is the perfect spot for a honeymoon or any kind of romantic celebration. We loved the love locks they sold in the gift shop and hung ours on the love lock arch. They offer floats, which we were gifted complimentary because of the mix up, and we had a private one. I haven't been that relaxed in a long time, just floating out in the water. Everything we ate was fantastic! Including room service, which was always quick to arrive. My favorite thing was the quesadillas at Dry Rocks! And the chicken dish at Calusa. One day we were going to head down to Key West, but just decided to stay at the resort because it was so wonderful to chill at. We reserved a daybed that day right at the water's edge. They set it up with towels and water and we were able to order food. Even the aforementioned quesadilla. I was in heaven. They have bikes you can use too. Those were fun to ride down to Shell World and get some souvenirs. There's also a pool with a wonderful jacuzzi that is hot, private and has strong jets! This was just the most wonderful honeymoon! Despite no tub, I was a happy wife! And happy wife, happy life, right?
