My husband and I came here from Thursday through Sunday. It was a fantastic stay. We will definitely come back. Our room was very clean and comfortable. It had a perfect view of the water. The staff was welcoming and kind. We had scones every morning. They were delicious! The scones flavor change everyday and it gets better each day. We enjoyed hanging out in the bay, relaxing by the pool and eating at some of the local restaurants. The resort was small and quiet, very relaxing! We are already planning our next trip. Thank you for a great weekend getaway!

We decided on a last minute trip to the Florida Keys, and we were lucky to snag a room for one night at the Bay Harbor Lodge. It was perfect! The owner's son, Jonathan, was super helpful and welcoming! He gave us so much information about places to eat, and places to go. (Thank you for the recommendation to stop at Robbie's! Feeding the tarpon was so much fun!) We booked the cheapest and smallest room, but it was perfect for our needs! We definitely want to come back and stay here longer. And we will book one of the rooms that overlook the bay. Five stars for location, 10 stars for service!

So glad we found this resort Had a wonderful time. Stayed in one of their cottages that was so pretty. There is a beach, equipment rental, grill, patio table. Beautiful sunsets and homemade scones in the morning.

Nice neon green iguana by the pool.

What a hidden gem! We loved the quiet , quaint cottages. We utilized the kayaks and the warm pool. The breakfast scones and coffee were a wonderful treat in the morning. Sunsets with our bottle of wine was such a perfect ending to a fantastic trip. The hosts are so gracious and accommodating we can't wait to plan staying here again !

This place doesn't look like much from the road but once you drive in, you enter a lush tropical garden. There are many sitting areas where you can quietly read, or you can sit by the bay and watch the boats go by. We were lucky and were visited by five manatees upon our arrival! The rooms are extremely clean and comfortable. They appear to keep everything updated as they were remodeling several units while we were there. The owner, Peg, and her son, Jonathan, were very accommodating and eager for our feedback and suggestions. Can't forget to mention the coffee and homemade scones each morning! Miss Renee was so pleasant as was all of the staff. We will be planning our return visit.

This is an adorable, clean property. It is fantastic for families, or a romantic getaway. The free use of kayaks & paddle boats is a big plus. Every morning the food truck serves up a delicious variety of scones. You can smell the hot coffee brewing. What a way to start your day sitting there, relaxing having your morning coffee and scones surrounded by beautiful foliage. The staff is so friendly and helpful and really make this place special.

I can't say enough about this destination. If you are looking for a true tropical Keys experience, this is your place. The facilities and amenities are aplenty and the property is manicured and meticulously cared for. The tropical feel abounds all around you. Pride of ownership is evident and the staff bends over backwards to be accommodating. We will absolutely make this the hub for for Keys adventures in the future. Let's just keep this place our little secret

LAST MINUTE DIVE TRIP to the KEYS and I FOUND THIS WONDERFUL PLACE. I was working on two-week long project in Miami and had the weekend off. I scrambled to find an inexpensive place to stay for the weekend, so I could get a few scuba dives in. I have been to Key Largo many times, I wish I found Bay Harbor Lodge sooner. It is a cozy place on the bayside. The rooms where immaculately clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The grounds are well kept and the small beach/pier was a great place to chill out after my dives. The rooms are not big but you are not in the Keys to hang out in your room. All in all, the place is a great value, compared to other places in the Keys, you are getting twice as much for half the price.

Gorgeous hidden gem. Staff was amazing. The wife and I made a last minute trip, and was so impressed with this resort. Beautiful landscaping, friendly staff, free kayaks and Paddle boards to use. The rooms are extremely clean and beautiful. Peg the owner makes delicious scones free of charge every morning. Her son Jonathan was very helpful throughout our stay. Will definitely be back. Like Peg says. Come as guests and leave as friends. Thank you all for a great stay.

We had an outstanding experience at Bay Harbor in Key Largo that far exceeded our expectations. We knew we wanted a weekend getaway in the Keys but had no idea what a relaxing, paradise we were about to encounter. Jonathan, JoJo, Eric, Lydia, and the rest of the staff were amazingly accommodating. They are friendly and bend over backwards to make sure guests are happy as can be. The grounds are well manicured and all facilities are clean. Kayaks and paddle boats are always available for a lovely ride on the bay. The homemade scones are delicious and coffee is a nice touch, but the unbelievable staff was the part that made this a resort unlike any other. Not only did they give us recommendations for eateries and places to visit in Key Largo, but they spent time talking about the other places they have lived and visited. I felt like we were on vacation with friends. We will be back for certain.More Date of stay: April 2021

We travelled the Keys last fall and stayed in Key Largo, Marathon and Key West. This property was our favorite. We loved our ocean view bungalow, the morning coffee and scones and the kayaking! Every morning and evening we walked to the free kayaks and had a marvelous time looking for sea creatures and enjoying beautiful shoreline views. We also had outstanding service from the front desk staff to the owner. We recommend this property! I'm late writing my review and we hope they are okay and didn't suffer much damage from Irma.

Enjoyed our vacation in one of the cottages. Rooms were so clean, atmosphere was great, scones in the morning melted in your mouth. We had a wonderful time for our anniversary. Will definitely visit again.

Don't open your furnace closet at Bay Harbor, or at least wear a respirator if you do! Yuck.

Came to Bay Harbor with my wife and her parents. At first, I thought "Okay, it's not the nicest place ever - but charming!" Enjoyed the view from the beach, the kayaks available to take out and scones in the morning were really good. But the service and quality of the room were just horrible. Let's start with management. We did break two rules on night one without realizing it and the management got a bit salty with us for that, which I TOTALLY understand. However, it was in a completely unprofessional manner. Most places would have notified you nicely and been polite - not the group at Bay Harbor. Specifically, there's a guy there named Justin, who was so rude to my wife that she walked away crying after talking with him. I guess I was just baffled that the team there cared zero about treating people nicely and with respect. Also, there was a billing problem that he dealt with by being forceful, rather than just ringing up the room to talk or putting a billing notification under the door? Just totally unprofessional, not what would happen at any major chain or place of good reputation. The room quality at Bay Harbor was also no where near what the price commanded. And I imagine they'd probably tell you, "well that's what you pay for down here! The Keys are expensive." But trust me, it's a complete joke. Nothing was clean, and there was black mold at the bottom of the shower and in the closet. (I have pictures, but I guess I can't post them?) The mold gave me some serious respiratory irritation, which totally ruined my "vacation." I felt sick waking up every morning and could barley swallow until I had spent 6+ hours outside the room. Overall, I really would not recommend staying here. If it's your cheapest option, save up a couple hundred more bucks and find a better place. Preferably somewhere that is corporate and that has policies on how to deal with customers and doesn't have black mold. It's really a shame, I took three days off work to go on this vacation with my wife's family, and staying here made me wish I was back at home at work. I'm probably never going back to Key Largo or the Key's in general again, it left that bad of a taste in my mouth (or throat! lol).

The first impression when…read moredriving into the place was, "What could possibly be back here that is going to work for a wedding?" However, the answer to that was surprisingly great. The villas have separate rooms with common areas and the one I was in had three bedrooms. The bedroom situation was similar to a hotel room. A nice comfortable bed, a private bathroom, generous closet space, and - most importantly - a good stable temperature even with the thermostat being out in the hall. A ceiling fan helps with circulation, which is great too. The only real downside I can think of is that two of the bedrooms are on the second floor, and you need to take this into account with your luggage as there are no elevators. Well, that and the fact that the finish of the stairs blend into the floor at the bottom so if you are older this might make for a physical perception problem as well. Anyway... Parking is a little tight when the place is full, but the location worked out really well for the wedding ceremony. Out on the point you can see the sunset across the water in the evening. Manatees frequent the dock which are a sight to behold. Across the dock there was a nice flat area on hard sand that was perfect for the reception. Yes, there are water activities including dolphin interactions across the boarder from what are the villas, but I can't make any comment on that part since I didn't manage to even visit over there.

There is no peace and quiet, there is no deal as you are paying premium for a broke down non-maintenance "lack of charm" roach infested shack. The beach is dirty and the lack of control of other guests by the staff puts your safety at risk. The local police have one solution, kick both parties who have a squabble out and the manager goes along with that and keeps your money. LET'S ELABORATE: THERE ARE MUCH BETTER ACCOMODATIONS PROVIDERS IN KEY LARGO: This place is a cash grab; in all the reviews I read they offer no refunds for the most extreme circumstances. Once you give them your card number they take and will not refund for any reason. They kicked me out because I expected a quiet clean beach side experience for my thousand dollars and I got a drunk new York lady with a radio and a loud kid that kept yelling "Hey Ma". I was in the waterside unit so there was no escape from this noise. Even going inside was no good as the windows are single pane flimsy awning / jalousie style windows from the 1950's. I stayed here at least five times and fooled myself as I enjoyed the what used to be silent clean beach. The beach used to be clean and quiet. After all you do not check into this property for the room quality or maintained facility or services or amenities as there are none. You stay here for the quiet beach and the view, to swim in salt water. ROACHES AND FUMIGATION CHEMICALS: Upon arrival for this visit there was a cabin unit that was tented with signs of poisonous chemicals. The cabin was un-tented the second day and being readied to rent. We commented if it were roaches or rats that was the reason for the tent and later discovered that it was most likely roaches. I will elaborate later in this review. WORN, SMELLY, DATED FURNISHINGS: When we checked in we noticed that the unit had very few updates since our last visit a year ago. There was a large dining table with glass top and beneath the glass was a display of shells and tropical life. This visit revealed that the glass and shells were gone, and a piece of some sort of white board glued on top to cover what must have been broken glass. The makeshift repair is signature for this place. A person does not stay here for the room quality, does not stay here for the cleanliness and does not stay here for any other reason than the once silent clean peaceful beach that is now noisy and full of cigarette butts and bear bottle caps. The unit does have newer cabinets, stove, sink and refrigerator. GARBAGE IN THE BAY WATER, FISHING HOOKS EVERYWHERE: The bay where one swims has three discarded tires from a car or trailer or some sort of vehicle. These rubber tires are covered with sea growth indicating that they have been there for some time. I picked many pieces of garbage out of the water, broken sunglasses, mask trim pieces, metal shards, many fishing hooks and weights with fishing line attached, cigarette butts, etc. Its like swimming at Sanford and Sons. RUDE NOISY GUESTS: Upon this visit there was a lady and her kids on the beach yelling back and forth with each other. The lady had a radio that she kept turning up to full volume. It was very annoying to say the least as she was right outside of our door and living room windows and was heard inside the unit. At one point the radio was turned down so I went outside to enjoy the beach and she quickly turned the radio up to full volume. I told her the radio was better before she turned the volume to full level. I explained taht this is a public space and the radio was unbearable to most guest who were seeking a peaceful stay. The lady ended up being drunk and started spouting profanity and nastiness at me. She called me slurs, after hearing this several times I returned by calling her a nasty name. She got on her phone and called someone and was talking loudly saying she was "going to need bail money" because she was "going to shoot me" and "if I have one more drink I'm going to go up there and punch him in the face." She had got on her phone earlier and done similar loud talk when my friends were out there and they went inside. I called the desk and the clerk came out and tried to speak to the lady yet the clerk came to me and told me "I have done all I can do, I spoke to her and told her the beach is meant to be quiet, but I do not think she will be quiet as she is obviously drunk." She further indicated that she would stay at the side of the building for a bit to make sure things do not get worse. I asked what she wanted me to do if the noise and threats continued and she advised that I call the police. This woman continued her karen behavior and then I called the police. The police said they spoke to all beach goers and the heard me yelling at the woman. They said the manager was kicking both parties out and that we needed to pack and leave.
