We booked our room at Bayside Inn Key Largo thru Booking.com. We had to pay up front. We were supposed to have 2 beds, all the amenities plus a private pool and a view of the Premier Island water view. After we were checked in by a lady who's name we didnt catch, another lady by the name of Sharon or Shari took us to a first floor room by the parking lot with NO private pool and NO view of Premier Island. Our view was of a oil tank or gas tank in some weeds in the back parking lot about 10 feet from our window!! Really?? Shari said this was the room we would have and the room we paid for was already taken and that they only have 3 of those type of rooms and they are always booked up by "regulars". So we were out of luck! We were crushed! Why did they even advertise them? They don't allow cancellations and we didn't want to lose our money for a 2 night stay. I couldn't believe we had a Bait and Switch scam played on us. We didn't know what to do. This was not right. However, Shari remembered there was a 2-bed room on the 3rd floor that had basically the same view but showed more of the tops of the trees instead of the gas tank. She urged us to at least look at it. We looked and it wasn't as bad as the other one and we didn't want to drive all the way home or lose our entire payment so we accepted. I wasn't pleased that we paid for a private pool and water view and had to settle for this average room. I could see that Shari was uncomfortable about what happened. She helped us bring up all our suitcases and was a very nice lady. I dont think she was at fault in this situation. I would like to know who was though. Our room in 316 was clean and seemed a bit larger than the 1st floor one. The view was of tree branches with pretty green leaves and we saw the gas tank below us and the parked cars. As long as we didn't look down, it was ok. We had a desk, dresser drawers, a fridge, a safe, a microwave, coffee maker, ironing board and iron, a roomy closet and a private shower/toilet with door. The sink was next to the entry. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Everything worked fine. The swimming pool in the back could use updating and was only 3 ft deep even though in the middle it said 4 ft. I knew it wasn't 4 ft because I am 5'6" and it came to my waist. It's not cold when you get in. There were chaise lounges available with small tables. The private beach area is small but very nice. There were paddle boards and kayaks available. People were swimming and sunbathing. Next door was Snook's restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner and there was a shortcut to it near the pool. Great food and ambiance at Snook's. If we didn't have the fiasco that we experienced, then I might have given 3.5- 4 stars. Bayside does take good care of the rooms and Shari was outstanding with her customer service.

Beach area to take out paddle boards and kayaks. Also docks with chairs and water access for swimming and sunbathing.

Loved this motel. It was so convenient and clean. The rooms are upgraded and felt very clean (minus all the sand we tracked in). The bathroom is upgraded with a nice walk in shower. The water access was my favorite part. They have a great waterfront area with seating, hammocks and a pool. The best part is the complimentary SUPs and Kayaks! I loved taking those out in the evening. The bar next door was also amazing. Good food, great drinks, and walking distance to our room. Overall I didn't have any negatives to my stay and would 100% book here again.

Stayed here over the weekend and was pleasantly impressed. The staff was accommodating as we had an issue upon arrival. Our room was rennovated, spacious, modern, and very clean. Love that they provide Tommy Bahama products in the room (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, & lotion). Our room was steps away from their pool, cabanas and beach. They have kayaks and paddleboards for use on the beach. They also have beach cruisers for guests to enjoy. The property is a few steps away from Snooks restaurant and tiki bar. Parking was also a breeze. This super cute hotel is also pet friendly. Loved our stay and will likely be back. Thank

Great location. Right next to a restaurant called snooks which has good food and live music/ drinks. They even have happy hour. The rooms were clean, nothing spectacular but decent for the price. We chose this hotel because it's dog friendly but we were a little disappointed that we were told dogs aren't allowed in the water at the beach. In my opinion that is not completely dog friendly so just keep that in mind if you plan to bring your fur baby. Other than that the sunset and beach setup was spectacular and the staff is friendly.

Rebecca and Kat are extremely unprofessional. I checked in on 8/31 and paid my bill of $657.66. Today I looked at my checking account and they had charged me again, nearly another $600. When I called to get things straightened out, Kat told me she only saw the initial charge and then said "Yeah, I don't know what to tell you". I had to call my bank and deal with that for an hour while on my last day of vacation because they are both incompetent. When my husband came into their office he told them we would never stay there again, one of them replied "Well good". Do not stay here unless you want your money stolen and to be treated as a second class citizen. The view from the peasant rooms in the motel sucks too and the bed is uncomfortable and cheap. I hope in the future the owners/managers don't hire idiots to run the place.

Wondering 40 lb dog well behaved allowed on the property and beach?

You have to ask them about your dog maybe you have to ask them

Hi i want to know if the so proclaimed "private beach" its like a normal beach ...like the ones with sand and water to swim ? ...what i understand from the reviews is a deck most likely but from the staff its not so clear .thanks

Bayside Inn Key Largo has a private beach with access to the water. Enjoy kayaking and paddle boarding from the beach into the Florida Bay.

Stayed in the Conch Villa as part of a pretty large wedding event. The first impression when…read moredriving into the place was, "What could possibly be back here that is going to work for a wedding?" However, the answer to that was surprisingly great. The villas have separate rooms with common areas and the one I was in had three bedrooms. The bedroom situation was similar to a hotel room. A nice comfortable bed, a private bathroom, generous closet space, and - most importantly - a good stable temperature even with the thermostat being out in the hall. A ceiling fan helps with circulation, which is great too. The only real downside I can think of is that two of the bedrooms are on the second floor, and you need to take this into account with your luggage as there are no elevators. Well, that and the fact that the finish of the stairs blend into the floor at the bottom so if you are older this might make for a physical perception problem as well. Anyway... Parking is a little tight when the place is full, but the location worked out really well for the wedding ceremony. Out on the point you can see the sunset across the water in the evening. Manatees frequent the dock which are a sight to behold. Across the dock there was a nice flat area on hard sand that was perfect for the reception. Yes, there are water activities including dolphin interactions across the boarder from what are the villas, but I can't make any comment on that part since I didn't manage to even visit over there.

This is a NO NO No stay, do not fall for any of the five star reviews. This place is not charming…read morebut it is a group of shacks. There is no peace and quiet, there is no deal as you are paying premium for a broke down non-maintenance "lack of charm" roach infested shack. The beach is dirty and the lack of control of other guests by the staff puts your safety at risk. The local police have one solution, kick both parties who have a squabble out and the manager goes along with that and keeps your money. LET'S ELABORATE: THERE ARE MUCH BETTER ACCOMODATIONS PROVIDERS IN KEY LARGO: This place is a cash grab; in all the reviews I read they offer no refunds for the most extreme circumstances. Once you give them your card number they take and will not refund for any reason. They kicked me out because I expected a quiet clean beach side experience for my thousand dollars and I got a drunk new York lady with a radio and a loud kid that kept yelling "Hey Ma". I was in the waterside unit so there was no escape from this noise. Even going inside was no good as the windows are single pane flimsy awning / jalousie style windows from the 1950's. I stayed here at least five times and fooled myself as I enjoyed the what used to be silent clean beach. The beach used to be clean and quiet. After all you do not check into this property for the room quality or maintained facility or services or amenities as there are none. You stay here for the quiet beach and the view, to swim in salt water. ROACHES AND FUMIGATION CHEMICALS: Upon arrival for this visit there was a cabin unit that was tented with signs of poisonous chemicals. The cabin was un-tented the second day and being readied to rent. We commented if it were roaches or rats that was the reason for the tent and later discovered that it was most likely roaches. I will elaborate later in this review. WORN, SMELLY, DATED FURNISHINGS: When we checked in we noticed that the unit had very few updates since our last visit a year ago. There was a large dining table with glass top and beneath the glass was a display of shells and tropical life. This visit revealed that the glass and shells were gone, and a piece of some sort of white board glued on top to cover what must have been broken glass. The makeshift repair is signature for this place. A person does not stay here for the room quality, does not stay here for the cleanliness and does not stay here for any other reason than the once silent clean peaceful beach that is now noisy and full of cigarette butts and bear bottle caps. The unit does have newer cabinets, stove, sink and refrigerator. GARBAGE IN THE BAY WATER, FISHING HOOKS EVERYWHERE: The bay where one swims has three discarded tires from a car or trailer or some sort of vehicle. These rubber tires are covered with sea growth indicating that they have been there for some time. I picked many pieces of garbage out of the water, broken sunglasses, mask trim pieces, metal shards, many fishing hooks and weights with fishing line attached, cigarette butts, etc. Its like swimming at Sanford and Sons. RUDE NOISY GUESTS: Upon this visit there was a lady and her kids on the beach yelling back and forth with each other. The lady had a radio that she kept turning up to full volume. It was very annoying to say the least as she was right outside of our door and living room windows and was heard inside the unit. At one point the radio was turned down so I went outside to enjoy the beach and she quickly turned the radio up to full volume. I told her the radio was better before she turned the volume to full level. I explained taht this is a public space and the radio was unbearable to most guest who were seeking a peaceful stay. The lady ended up being drunk and started spouting profanity and nastiness at me. She called me slurs, after hearing this several times I returned by calling her a nasty name. She got on her phone and called someone and was talking loudly saying she was "going to need bail money" because she was "going to shoot me" and "if I have one more drink I'm going to go up there and punch him in the face." She had got on her phone earlier and done similar loud talk when my friends were out there and they went inside. I called the desk and the clerk came out and tried to speak to the lady yet the clerk came to me and told me "I have done all I can do, I spoke to her and told her the beach is meant to be quiet, but I do not think she will be quiet as she is obviously drunk." She further indicated that she would stay at the side of the building for a bit to make sure things do not get worse. I asked what she wanted me to do if the noise and threats continued and she advised that I call the police. This woman continued her karen behavior and then I called the police. The police said they spoke to all beach goers and the heard me yelling at the woman. They said the manager was kicking both parties out and that we needed to pack and leave.

We loved the breakfast buffet. The fruit and pastries were our favorites. We also loved Bogey and Bacall's. We didn't love Sea Senor's as much, although it was really fun and beautiful eating right by the beach. The food was just a bit bland. Another thing that I didn't fully realize until we got there was that there isn't a traditional beach. There is sand but it is lined by a rocky coast. You can swim in the ocean and you access it by stairs. So that is something to keep in mind. The pools were lovely and clean. But they could be bigger and maybe have like a water feature or something to improve the ambiance. The pools all close at sunset. Which also was a bit of a bummer and we weren't sure why. But we enjoyed swimming in them. We also didn't realize that seating around the pool is limited and if we wanted to have chairs by the pool, we'd have to get there early and save seats. The spa was incredible. We got a couples massage and it was one of the best massages I have ever had. Definitely recommend going there and treating yourself. Overall our experience was wonderful and romantic and relaxing. The only thing that prevents me from wanting to go back is not having a traditional beach where you can just walk into the ocean and swim.
