The Bayside Inn is conveniently located within walking distance from dining and shopping. There is a beautiful waterfront view and the sunsets here are awesome. They also have kayaks, paddle boards, bicycles and a pool for the guests to use.

The 3 stars are for location and views and cleanliness. Those are great! But, the level of service is seriously lacking. In the picture you will see the 2 tiny flat pillows we were given for a king sized bed with 2 people. They were smaller than decorative sofa throw pillows and flat as pancakes. We called the front desk for more and were, rudely, told that she would look when she had time and get us some if they had them. Well, needless to say we never heard one word from her again. Hotels are mainly for a quality night sleep and a clean place to keep your stuff while enjoying the area. The bare minimum they need to give us a comfortable bed and PILLOWS. We aren't asking for a mint on the pillows at night, just a quality pillow. We attempted again the next day to ask housekeeping for pillows but they did not speak English and had no idea what we were trying to ask. We ended up at the Family Dollar buying some pillows to get us through our $300+ a night horrible pillow situation. The hotel needs to invest some of that $300 a night in the basics that customers not only expect but need to sleep!.... And perhaps invest in some customer service classes for the night shift lady at the front desk.

I have very mixed feeling about writing this review. The location is wonderful, I checked into the office when I arrived and it was clean and pretty and I was excited for the room. The room was pretty clean and looked good. The amenities- which I didn't take advantage of as much as I wanted to, are amazing! Bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, a pool... plus the piers jutting out into the bay. Beautiful sunsets, right next door to a restaurant that had live music every night that you could enjoy from a lounge chair enjoying the waterfront... so much good right? Then the room. When I first walked in I noticed a musty smell- it was surprisingly humid even though the temperature was low. Damp. Moist. Ick. The bedding was perpetually damp. We stayed from Thursday to Monday and the room never, not once dried out. Not even after we found the "dry" setting on the air conditioner. None of our towels would dry- and with no cleaning service for the rooms- that got old fast. Have you ever tried to sleep on damp bedding? I have- only once, while camping an entire week in the rain- it sucks. Now imagine feeling damp inside your hotel room. I couldn't sleep- it was terrible. Even between the sheets- it was moist. There's no getting comfortable. So I am thoroughly torn between- it's a gorgeous location and great amenities and the room simple was uncomfortable. Let's face it- you get a hotel for 2 reasons- to sleep and to shower. We were room 203. And- fyi, walls are thin, it happens, but you here everything from the surrounding rooms. And the air conditioning is the quietest I have ever heard in a hotel- which turned out to be a curse, not a blessing.

Making use of Bayside Inn's kayaks was a highlight of our visit.

Stayed at Bayside Inn for one night and had a pleasant experience. The front desk staff were very friendly. We stayed on the 2nd fl with a king size bed and found it spacious enough for 2 adults and a 3 year old. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable and the room included a fridge and microwave. The room didn't have a view or outdoor seating. You have to go to the back by the seaside pool to enjoy that. My son enjoyed the large jenga, Connect 4 game, hammocks, ping pong, and pool noodles in the heated pool. There are plenty of kayaks with oars and life savers available to take out, as well as beach towels provided. The seaside area isn't a real beach--meaning my son couldn't play with his sand toys there, though there were enough other be things to do to enjoy the area. The motel style accommodations allow you to park near your room and have a direct private entrance to your room. It was nice to be able to walk next door to Snook's for dinner and get a 10% on our meal. The price is reasonable compared to other places on the Keys. We benefited from the FL resident discount.

Clean room, polite staff, sunset view, and great location in proximity to good restaurants and amenities.

PET FRIENDLY I do not think so. Ruined vacation Thanks to "CAT" the manager. We have stayed at this establishment for over 4years . A pet friendly Hotels.com should welcome dogs with open arms. That is what we expected and received in the past. Well apparently no longer. Dogs are not allowed on the Beach! Pets Can not be in the rooms by themselves. How is this a pet friendly resort! Our well needed vacation celebrating mine and my husband's 36 year anniversary ruined. We packed up our bags and left one day into our 3 day stay . We were charged over 400$ for a ONE NIGHT-STAY . We were told by manager CAT that she would work with us to cancel the rest of our stay. When we went to pay the bill because our 12 lb well trained leashed dog could not stay on the beach with us . They had the audacity to charge us a $134 cancellation fee. Be advised of all hidden resort fee's all over. Not only was our dog not Welcome. The so called resort was dirty . Our room 104 had TOE NAIL CLIPPING ON THE BATHROOM FLOOR. I cleaned it myself before we slept in our room. I feel a need to share and BEWARE for other dog owners !!!!!THIS IS NOT S PET FRIENDLY PLACE nor a FRIENDLY place for that matter! Extremely disappointed.

The Bayside Inn is a good value. Great location, comfy/clean rooms. Cute little beach to watch sunsets. Located next to some cool bar/restaurants - Snook's, Bayside Grill, DiGiorgios's Cafe. True - the shower water pressure is third-world-nation, but that was not such a big deal. Would go back again.

    Initial charge, everything was cool.

Location - The hotel is right off of Interstate 1 and in the middle of Key Largo. You are just down the road from a Publix, shopping center, and a number of restaurants. John Pennecamp State Park is really close as well. Rooms & Building - The hotel is going for a retro tropical tiki vibe. It is probably not for everyone but I digged it. Rooms are spacious and offer the typical Hampton Inn layout. The grounds were not like typical Hamptons though, well manicured and full of beautiful tropical plants. This location had a much more Hilton resort vibe without the resort price. Amenities - The hotel had a small beach area that overlooked the ocean. You can borrow kayaks to take out on the water but it was so windy the day we were there, you would have no luck getting anywhere (we watched a poor couple try to no avail). There is a pool with a pool bar but everything was so cold, it was closed and the pool was somewhat uncomfortable to swim due to the temps and wind, so we passed. Food - Pool bar was closed but we did enjoy the free breakfast buffet. Typical Hampton Inn offerings including make your own waffles, eggs, breakfast meat and an assortment of continental offerings. My kids loved that there was a ton of toppings (including key lime syrup!) available for the waffles, we made some pretty crazy combos. Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. No complaints. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - It was more than what I normally would pay for a Hampton Inn at $240 a night but the Keys are spendy during tourist season. Too bad it was so cold it didn't feel much like it! Oh well, our MN luck. Weather aside, the property was nice and it would have been cool to utilize the water sports and water area. On a nicer day, I feel like these would be great bonuses to the property and added value to the stay. If I'm back in Key Largo, I'll give this place another view.

There are several great restaurants and stores to shop around here. Oh, and let's not forget the warm cookies when you arrive! As Hilton Gold members, we were fortunate to receive a small room upgrade at booking, which we definitely appreciated. Let me start with the highlights the resort amenities are wonderful, especially for families. There were plenty of complimentary activities for kids during the day, and even fun nighttime events like dancing that were adorable and well thought out. It truly felt family-friendly, and there was always something going on to keep everyone entertained. The cutest was Santa pics with cookies and milk! The staff was attentive and kind throughout our stay, and honestly, that goes a long way. Great service can elevate an entire experience, and they really delivered on that front. That said, at nearly $1,000 per night during peak season, I did expect the facilities and rooms to be in better condition. The property has so much potential, but parts of it felt a bit rundown for the price point. The rooms could use some attention and deeper cleaning. I completely understand that this is a beachfront resort and sand is inevitable however we noticed quite a bit of sand throughout the room, even on the bed when it had been freshly made. I've stayed at other beach resorts where housekeeping was a bit more thorough in that regard. However nothing crazy but cleanliness is big in my book. One morning, there was also a cockroach at the coffee cart. My husband reported it right away to the front desk. The next few mornings the cart wasn't out, and I'm assuming they were addressing the situation, which I appreciate but it was still a bit off-putting. The on-site restaurants were good not extraordinary, but enjoyable and I felt the pricing there was fair considering it's a resort property. Overall, we had a great experience. The resort has incredible potential, and with a little more attention to upkeep especially considering the premium nightly rate it could easily be a five-star stay. The friendly staff and activities made a big difference.

So Baker's Cay was unable to contact him to let him know the suite he had booked for us with an amazing looking bathtub would not be available due to it not being fully completed with construction. So when we arrived they told us the room wasn't available. My heart sank. I know his sank twice as hard. He has his new wife with his wonderful plan to give her a beautiful bathtub and suddenly it all fell apart. The front desk was so kind though and I truly felt like they cared and felt terrible about this mistake. They really made up for it by giving us so many perks throughout our stay, including a beautiful room with the most amazing view. A shout out to their concierge, Ashley, who really assisted us in booking things! Now that aside, the resort itself is just soooooo relaxing! It is the perfect spot for a honeymoon or any kind of romantic celebration. We loved the love locks they sold in the gift shop and hung ours on the love lock arch. They offer floats, which we were gifted complimentary because of the mix up, and we had a private one. I haven't been that relaxed in a long time, just floating out in the water. Everything we ate was fantastic! Including room service, which was always quick to arrive. My favorite thing was the quesadillas at Dry Rocks! And the chicken dish at Calusa. One day we were going to head down to Key West, but just decided to stay at the resort because it was so wonderful to chill at. We reserved a daybed that day right at the water's edge. They set it up with towels and water and we were able to order food. Even the aforementioned quesadilla. I was in heaven. They have bikes you can use too. Those were fun to ride down to Shell World and get some souvenirs. There's also a pool with a wonderful jacuzzi that is hot, private and has strong jets! This was just the most wonderful honeymoon! Despite no tub, I was a happy wife! And happy wife, happy life, right?

Communication was consistently poor--weeks would go by without any response. We were promised a Florida Resident Discount by two different general managers, but it was never honored. (This is a significant discount that we did not get as promised). In total, we went through four general managers, each making new promises that never materialized. Even weeks before the wedding, when we were trying to make final payment, we couldn't get a response. When I finally raised concerns with the newest manager, her response was, "I have like six brides all contacting me at once." With all due respect, that's not how you handle a time-sensitive, stressful situation for a bride and her family. To add to the confusion, their website still showed units available just days before our event--even though we had rented out the entire resort. The units themselves are not equipped as expected either--we had to go out and purchase basic items like dish towels, a dish scrubber, pot holders, and more. Their new lanai roof leaks and ruined a couple of the custom built items we thought were safely stored since it's a brand new structure. If you decide to do a wedding buyout here, I highly recommend hiring a strong wedding planner to handle the communication challenges. Also, make sure to get everything in writing--the staff turnover is significant, and verbal promises don't seem to carry over.

We loved the breakfast buffet. The fruit and pastries were our favorites. We also loved Bogey and Bacall's. We didn't love Sea Senor's as much, although it was really fun and beautiful eating right by the beach. The food was just a bit bland. Another thing that I didn't fully realize until we got there was that there isn't a traditional beach. There is sand but it is lined by a rocky coast. You can swim in the ocean and you access it by stairs. So that is something to keep in mind. The pools were lovely and clean. But they could be bigger and maybe have like a water feature or something to improve the ambiance. The pools all close at sunset. Which also was a bit of a bummer and we weren't sure why. The grounds have a variety of fun animal lawn decor - my husband and I had so much fun trying to see them all, it felt like we discovered a new hidden one each day of our stay. At night, they're lit up with fun colors - feels like you're coming home to a mini-theme park! Aside from the fun lawn decor, the facilities are truly impressive - a little private beach just steps away from any cottage booked, a little social area with a large tv, a super cool tiki hut in front of the office that has breakfast bites available in the morning. The private beach especially was really appreciated - it may have actually been one of the best on the island from the ones we ventured out to. A nice little sandy bar, plenty of beach chairs, and a few large tiki huts that shield you very well from any unexpected rain. We stayed in the Bayview cottage, which was one of the closest to the private beach and had a little fridge and counter area for prepping food. Also, I really loved the little vanity with a mirror and ledge in the living space that came in handy for getting ready while the bathroom was occupied. I was so impressed with the cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms. Although the location and grounds are a bit rustic, the rooms are kept very clean and updated. Even small things like the paint on the walls and decor - it seems almost like it was painted and decorated yesterday! Everything is kept up. Lastly, I really appreciated that the office highlights the history of the property and gives a little story about Sunset Cove. I really loved learning that the property once was a manatee sanctuary. Overall, was delighted with our fun stay at Sunset Cove and will definitely be back in the future!
