This place is a total scam! I booked for 2 nights on hotel tonight for over $700 as this was advertised as being water front with a restaurant and really charming. Turns out the hotel is under renovation and they texted us to check into some motel a few blocks away which is under a different name, which rents for several hundred dollars less per night. They try to bait and switch customers into booking into a dumpy motel. I was able to get a refund from hotel tonight because they are booking under a fake listing only to be redirected to a motel with no amenities. Such a disappointment and scam. When i asked the manger to rebook me for the motel with the rate advertised online she ghosted me. They are just looking for last minute bookings to people who arrive late and don't have time to find another place. Buyers remorse! read more

My fiancé booked this room as a birthday surprise for me for 2 nights July 31st - Aug 2nd, 2026. He was mortified when we got in the room and saw that the room was extremely dirty, hair was left all over shower floor, in the bathroom sink and in the bed under the covers and on the living room futon. Dead roach was on the bedroom floor, loud construction starting at 8am, only one wash cloth in the bathroom, when we requested more, they only brought 1 more. Stains on futon and yellow stains on the floor, property did not reflect pictures on the website, property was clearly in a restoration phase. The shower had still water from previous guest that would not drain down, Wifi did not work, we had to use our mobile Hotspot for the smart tv. Sand area was full of rigged rocks and not smooth and fine as pictures portrayed. There was only 1 pool and it was lacking proper filtration. The price per night was extremely high for such a disgusting lack luster property. The breakfast was pathetic; I've seen a better spread at a holiday inn. Powdered eggs, hard bread/bagels and milk that was sitting out in a thermos. We met another guest in the room next to us who had the same experience and the hotel offered to give them their money back if they found another room. We never saw them again so I assume they found another hotel. We spoke to the lady at the front desk and texted her our pictures and were told that we would be contacted by management. I would rate the hotel 2 to 3 stars. The rooms are antiquated. The furniture old and uncomfortable. Minimum amenities in the bathroom. Towels old. Our toilet was malfunctioning and although we kept asking for repairs it continued to malfunction. The breakfast was basically runny eggs, cereal boxes, cut fruit, yogurt and two kind of breads. The pool has minimal sun cover. All that for $600 a night!!! Disgraceful! read more

Inadequate parking, noisy AC, insect infested sitting area. The only bright spot was Eric the bartender. We're the typical Miami residents that love a good weekend in the keys for all of our celebrations, especially since we're restricted travel wise with covid. We spent our anniversary weekend here last July and no place we've stayed at since has been able to surpass it. The breakfast comes promptly to your door at the time you ask for it, and everything is fresh and delicious. I loved that the options were simple and we could just drink our coffee and eat our bagel and croissant on the comfy chairs by the sliding glass doors in our jungle suite. The poolside area is lovely, and even though there is no true beach (there really aren't many true beaches in all of the keys) , we climbed down the ladder and took a dip in the ocean a couple times when we wanted a cold dip to cool us off from the July heat. I am horrified that I forgot her name, but the attendant by the pool was attentive and friendly and lovely all around. We had a few different drinks and snacks at the pool when we were comfy and loathe to get up for lunch or dinner. There is a cabana at the pool that you can snag if you're early enough, and those few hours in there with a spritzer and a book in my hands felt like paradise. This is a small resort, I can't imagine it ever getting loud or crowded by the pool. So spacious and relaxing. I truly truly love this place. The only complaint I remember having was the taste of the coffee. That is literally it. This place is old school, there's no key cards. The rooms are older but it was part of the charm. Casa Morada is truly something special. We came here on our honeymoon and couldn't have asked for a better location, more beautiful grounds/room or a kinder staff. From the second we arrived we were welcomed by Caitlin who was the absolute sweetest and found a congratulatory bottle of champagne in our room. The hotel is located on the bay side which means incredible sunsets and calm waters where you can admire fish, dolphins and manatees (we saw all 3 just be standing on the deck!). The pool area is wonderfully maintained and we enjoyed lounging for hours every day with the other kind couples staying at the hotel. They offer amenities like paddle boards, kayaks and the option to book a sunset cruise which was one of our favorite experiences of our whole honeymoon. The bartender Janice even gathered the other guests to send us off on our cruise with a farewell congratulations toast which was so sweet. This isn't the all inclusive vibe or somewhere you go to be waited on 24/7 (eg the bar is closed several days a week and we felt pretty much entirely left to our own devices during our weeklong stay) but as long as you have the right expectations going in you'll no doubt see the same special qualities that made this boutique hotel somewhere we're planning to return to for years to come. The very best thing about Casa Morada is Captain Bill's Sunset Sail. The sail thru the waters surrounding Islemorada was super enjoyable. Captain Bill's knowledge was awesome. I've been to Casa Morada a few times in the past. It is the only peaceful place to stay in the Florida Keys. If that is what you desire then head on over. It's not cheap though and on this stay I was located in the Shangri La room which was very nice.. Due to occupancy issues we had to move mid stay into the Iquana room which is a basement dungeon.... not worth mentioning. So you see, unfortunately the rooms are a roll of the dice. But the Sunset Sail makes up for all that is wrong. read more

I stayed here in February 2021 with my husband. We were so impressed by our stay here that I felt compelled to leave a review. I noticed another review complaining about the price of this hotel, and I would ask that person if they've ever stayed anywhere else in the Keys (especially within Islamorada), because we truly felt we were getting a luxurious experience at this price point. The grounds are quiet, chill, child-free, and beautifully kept. There's so much to do like using their kayaks, hanging by the pool, bocce on the grounds, free yoga for hotel guests, etc. Lastly, I'd like to note that despite COVID, we still had an excellent time staying here and did not feel that it cut into the experience. Wow. Talk about my new favorite place to stay in islamorada. Complete luxury paired with all-around relaxing ambiance. This little place is tucked away in a little garden, But the property extends into the water. They have a little island where you can tan by the pool and have poolside snacks and drinks. One thing I always appreciate is check-in service. The staff was kind, caring, and definitely made me feel welcomed. They have waterfront properties, but I stayed in the garden which was still amazing. The room was quaint and cozy, with a screened-in patio. Wow! Started our vacation in Miami and stayed at the W but when we got to CASA MORADA we wish we would have stayed here all 7 nights. Eileen, the owner, greeted us and took us on our own personal tour of their facility. We stayed in the Jungle room. The room was super clean and tons of usable space. We loved the sitting room and personal deck. The facility offered kayaks, paddle boards and bikes. Our favorite part was the "island" that had our own pool, yoga, cocktails and food. We spent most of our time there. We did not want to leave. You could hire the captain for the sunset cruise or a daytime snorkeling adventure. This little boutique hotel was hands down the best part of our trip to the keys. My boyfriend found it in a small article in GQ magazine. We ended our Barbados trip in Miami and then came here and I only wish we would have spent both of our last nights at Casa Morada. It's so adorable and secluded, the perfect romantic getaway. The highlights for a newly engaged couple like ourselves were: -No kids allowed. Enough said. -The view. The floating bar and pool area faces the west ocean so you can see the sunset if you stay there. -The room was clean, quaint and well-stocked with complimentary snacks and mini bar. -They offer free yoga classes on the beach. -The continental breakfast on the deck was nice with lots of extras like fresh fruit, soymilk, granola, yogurt, and good coffee. -We loved the beach cruisers. We took them to Lorelei's and Morada Bay for drinks and dinner to catch the sunset, it was so much fun. It's not a "5 star resort" but for us it was the perfect combination of luxury and serenity that we were looking for. If we ever came back to the keys we would definitely stay here again. read more

The rooms are quiet, beachy, comfy and lovely. Not overdone but comfy with luxe touches. I prefer staying in the water front building where you can awake to a shining bay and palm trees. Breakfast is simple, fresh, delicious and complimentary. You can grab a bike, kayak, or paddleboard anytime and head out for some exercise. Or..... You can cross a little bridge, grab a mango sake cocktail and find a luxurious lounge or hammock by the pool. The sunset sail is a must, especially if Dolphins decide to follow you around as they did with us. The staff is wonderful, they are so nice I didn't want to leave. They will take care of any request. The hotel is under construction, they did not tell us when we booked or when i called to confirmed. We booked Casa Morada for its tranquility and clean atmosphere - only to find the hotel noisy and dust every where. The bar opens at 4 pm due to the construction and noise and the Management cares very little about their guest. I have sent e-mails with no respond, was offer a discount off my total staff only to find they discounted the taxes only, asked to speak with Aylin the Manager and was told i could not that she was not in, asked if she can call me before charging my credit card and have not heard from heard. The Management does not care about their guest and the customer service is zero.They hotel should advise their guest of construction at their hotel, their guest should be allow the option of choosing to reschedule. Very disappointed in the way they treated us and the little regards to our experience . read more

I don't believe words can explain this place nor do the pictures do justice but I will try my best. I found this place on Secret Escape about eight months ago the rooms were at 50% off, right after hurricane Irma. I always love the keys but most hotels were very plain and simple. This hotel only has maximum 16 rooms so basically you really don't see anyone around, It's as if you are on your own private property. Upon arrival I'm served a glass of complimentary champagne which was delicious! I really wanted some alone time , since my house at the time is being renovated hehe. Secluded On a large landscaped, well tended to by several Gardners/landscapers. Yes they actually rake the gravel trails that are in between the gardens and trees every morning so you only see your footprints. I stayed at the sea turtle room, has a beautiful patio area where you can hear and see a beautiful waterfall hidden between the trees. As you follow the trail towards the dock there's a single beautiful two-person Hammock that is a stand alone Surrounded by water. I enjoyed one night laying there looking at the beautiful dark sky, I haven't seen so many beautiful stars in a very long time, And it was a full moon week so I can't imagine what it looks like when the moon is not full. You can schedule day fishing ,sunset sailing and many other activities right from the hotel. Walking distance , there are several restaurants to choose from, I was there for the full moon celebration, was lovely. Part of my treat to myself was a full body massage which was arranged by the hotel the masseuse was amazing and the price was perfect compared to Miami. $125 for 1 hour in room service just amazing! One of the best places to see the sunset with all its beautiful purple pink and gold. The hostess was amazing before I arrived I called to confirm my stay, she asked if I had plans for dinner and I told her no , I asked her about Chef Michael's which I've read some reviews on yelp, told her there's a restaurant I wanted to go to but I'm afraid it might be too late for a reservation, she went ahead and made reservations for me and confirmed! Excellent customer service! The bar at the end of the dock is amazing, try the smoked fish dip, it's delivered daily right off the fishing boat they smoke it immediately after catching. Viewing the sunset from there is a must do! But if you're more into people, a restaurant about a block and a half away walking distance is called Lorelei was nice to hang out and have a light lunch, food is not the best but the view is amazing! Inside the hotel room as natural terrazzo floors, nice comfy bed living room area mini fridge that's packed with lots of delicious drinks and of course my favorite sparkling water. They refill every day. Breakfast is served on the upper deck of another building overlooking the ocean. Paula picked this lovely hotel, and boy, was it nice. The buildings are from the 50's, but nicely refinished. Our bed was huge, and the sheets and pillows were 5-star. The pool area is magnificent, jutting out into the Gulf, with a sweet little beer and wine bar at the tip. Breakfast was great. Guests have free use of bikes, paddleboards and kayaks. With great restaurants and entertainment a bike ride away (which is perfect because they have loaners). As if you want to leave anyway. FOR THE GREAT ENVIRONS: They took a dumpy old motor inn and transformed it into a mini-shangri-la. The rooms are simple, comfortable, and well appointed in tropical-midcentury-modern. There are high-quality linens and my all-time favorite Malin+Goetz bath products. The grounds are like a Gilligan's Island fantasy, with crushed stone paths winding through luxurious trees and plants. There are orchids and succulents hanging around, and a few happy cats eager to say "Hi!" There's a little waterfall, cozy grotto, well-groomed bacci court, and kayaks, paddleboards and canoes to use. FOR THEIR WONDERFUL BEACHFRONT: Just imagine a whitewashed wood cabaña that serves as bar, lunchroom, game room, chat room, reading room and nap room. And the little, private, elevated perch with a single daybed that some lucky guests get to claim for the day. And the row of adirondack chairs and chaises. And the nice pool. And their sweet sailboat. And the long dock perfect for morning yoga. All facing the lovely bay, bathed in floral breezes and warm air. FOR THE SIMPLE, YUMMY BREAKFAST: On their sunny, open-air mezzanine. FOR CAPTAIN BILL: Who took us on a romantic sunset sail and brought a guitar and ukulele so I could play. He also took us on a great and very informative eco-tour of the area, which included a manatee search and visit to the "big houses." FOR THE OFFICE LADIES: Who are just so welcoming. First time we went, we rode in from Miami on a big-ass Harley. We were hot, tired, thirsty. K hopped off the bike to check in while I parked. By the time I got to the office, K was smiling and drinking a Red Stripe, laughing and chatting. We were instantly charmed. AND FOR THE EXTREME SHA-WINGG FACTOR: I ain't proud. Hotels get us there ... and places as nice as this get us there fast. I mean ... THAT isn't fast ... it's just ... the mood. That's what happens fast. Sheesh. ANYWAY: We love it there. Stayed in the Wild Water suite, which had an awesome Jacuzzi on the balcony outside. Understated design, a bit worn. Attributed it to the elements so close by - upstairs, you literally live in between palm trees. It is so quiet and dark at night, what a change of pace from Miami. Seems like everything around closes down at about 10pm anyway. Awesome Feuilatte Champagne which we resorted to because of lack of quality wine selection. I visited in the off season. Great place! Just like a mini resort and the staff is great. Due to the slow season, I even got an upgrade to the Jungles room, LOVED IT! A balcony where I can watch the sunset, a jacuzzi tub with candles, a shower with rock floor. So clean!! The breakfast was simple but yummy and sufficient. Awesome OJ and fresh fruits! It was practically empty, so it felt we had the resort all to ourselves. Complimentary bikes, kayaks and snacks, even water!! I am unsure what it's normal price range is since I booked with tablethotels.com and it was a special price. Location is also great, in the middle of Miami and Key West. Choosing Casa Morada as our honeymoon lodging was one of the best wedding-planning choices we made! This place is absolutely beautiful, a perfect little hideaway. The grounds are beautiful and lush and carefully maintained. The property doesn't have beach access, but has an amazing little island with a cabana bar, hammocks, lounge chairs, and a pool. Absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are super comfortable and charmingly appointed. The husband can be picky and was concerned about staying in a boutique hotel, but was quickly won over. Everyone we met who works at Casa Morada was incredibly nice. In addition to being totally accommodating, they even gave us a free upgrade on account of it being our honeymoon! The only thing they asked for in return is that we pass on the good karma :) If not for the amazing staff, I might be tempted to not review Casa Morada in attempt to keep it to myself! However, we enjoyed this place too much to not give it some Yelp support. If you want to relax somewhere beautiful, calm, and serene this is the place for you. read more

My husband and I went here for the first portion of our honeymoon in the keys (spent four nights at Casa Morada). It was a peaceful and beautiful time from the moment we first arrived to the moment we left. It is small, charming, and secluded with free kayaks, bikes, and paddle boards for use. Plus you can do a bit of pool side snorkeling in the ocean. The staff is accommodating and you get to know them by name as it is a very small place. The rooms were perfect and we had a great terrace (twilight suite). The property is impeccable and gives you the perfect island feel. We came to know Angel (manager) and Megan (bar tender) very well and they took great care of us. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a low key and relaxing time, and those who may also love their own little adventures out on the water or biking around the town. read more

We stayed at Casa Morada in May 2016. Though it's been a couple of months since, I think about the few days we spent there everyday. When we checked in we were offered two complimentary champagne glasses and a tour of the hotel, which is like a big beautiful garden with pathways surrounding the rooms and bungalows, one of which leads to a bridge into the island where the pool and bar are located, all around are cabanas, hammocks, lounge chairs, and fire pits. This whole island faces the most SPECTACULAR view of the water. Then we were walked to our cute little room called "Moon"... Nice comfy king bed, spacious closet, a sitting room with a TV, with beautiful orchids in every room. The best part of Moon was the indoor-outdoor patio seating area facing the garden and a HUGE spa tub. (Spent most of our time there). We LOVED the Malin-Goetz products that were placed generously in our room every time it was cleaned. The whole staff was so, so wonderful!! They all helped my (now) fiance execute her proposal during sunset on the island, where we were also served the most delicious steak dinner. Everyone really treated us like family, they had great recommendations for meals around the area, and organized pick-up/ delivery from a few great restaurants nearby. They also had great recommendations for other activities (even though there is plenty to keep you busy at Casa Morada...i.e. kayaks, snorkel gear, board games. their movie closet, bikes...) They genuinely cared about our experience and went out of their way to make sure we were beyond happy and got everything we wanted and more :) Being the foodies that we are, we really enjoyed the food in Isla Morada. (Every restaurant we tried was great) Not to mention... their breakfast in particular was fantastic, (which they deliver to your room everyday if you choose to eat in)...We were served these exquisite, warm, freshly-baked almond and chocolate Neapolitans that were to die for. I would go back just to have one again. We loved staying at Casa Morada, it was overwhelmingly peaceful!! I am so happy to have the most beautiful memory of getting engaged over there. This is such a great little place to escape and be in complete serenity. It was so quiet and relaxing. The staff was great, there was a great little beach area and pool, and we loved how dog-friendly they were. They left some welcome treats for the pup, a food and water bowl and a doggie bed to sleep on. They offer complimentary breakfast until 11 AM and offer a great variety. They even offered free yoga classes on the pier. I didn't wake up early enough to try it, but it did look like a good class and overheard others mentioning how great it was. I would definitely recommend and we will definitely be going back the next time we need a quick getaway. read more

When we arrived there we felt that we had just entered into a private paradise. The personnel was so charming and nice. The gardens are beautiful and so well maintained, the bar on the water is perfect with an amazing view for the sunset. Renovated motel on the bay side of Islamorada within easy walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops. The grounds are beautiful but the buildings are starting to show some wear. Beautiful pool on an island in the bay with a nice little dining structure on the edge overhanging the bay. Very St. Barts. Unfortunately the drink selections at the pool are pretty poor. But the pool/bar girl is great and efficient. The rooms are clean, south Asian, tropical, Sunny Isles Beach motel modern (the old stuff that has been torn down), very trendy design almost to the point of uncomfortable. That is one of the major reasons that I usually shun the trendy hotels. If I am on vacation, a major considerations is comfort, I am there to relax. It is nice to have a suite like room with a seperate sitting area but if you can't sit in the couch for more than five minutes while watching a movie, what good is it? Hands down, the best place we have stayed in the Keys. The staff is charming and constantly anticipating your needs. We stayed in the sun suite which had a great water view. The pool area has lots of hammocks and lounges and feels like a private island as it is rarely crowded. They offer complimentary kayaks, paddle boards, movies, snorkel, breakfast, yoga, water in the rooms. You don't feel like you're being nickel and dimed. Drinks at the bar are excellent during sunset. They serve lunch but not dinner, but the hotel is within walking distance from lots of great choices including Chef Michael, Lorelei, Pierre's, Ma's Fish Camp. Sunset sail is romantic and fun with a great captain. Can't wait to return to this slice of paradise! read more
