Wow, just wow. One of the best meals I've had! Last minute decision to go from an uber driver recommendation and now it's going to be a staple spot every Keys trip. Lacey and Claudia were sooo kind and attentive, my glass was never empty and my empty plates were never on the table for long. The food was also just fantastic. The escargot was delightful and the pastry on top was perfect cooked, one of the better dishes I've had of escargot. The salad was spectacular, the lettuce was very fresh and the dressing HAD to be made in house cause I've never had such a high quality Caesar dressing. Just when I thought I couldn't eat anymore, my perfectly cooked 12oz filet and the largest (not even exaggerating) lobster tail I've ever been served came out and I had to eat every bite. And just when I thought I had to tap out from eating, they mentioned carrot cake and I knew I had to make space for it and so glad I did. I love to leave amazing 5 star reviews at 5 star restaurants. There were 4 of us in our party for dinner. The atmosphere is a 5 star , the bar is nice , our server is fantastic and she deserves a 6 if that is possible (Kiersten) I believe that's how it's spelled. She was knowledgeable of the menu and she was fast and has a great attitude. The only appetizer we ordered was the Scallops and wow they were amazing with the mango chutney sauce. Salads all on par with the prices now our dinners we ordered the Bone in ribeye steak medium rare , 2 filets medium medium rare and the broiled fish. Now I am trying not to slam the dinners so I will talk about the premium side of the fried Brussels sprouts! Wow those were tasty and delicious! Fish was good and no complaints there. Now the steaks were the issue all 3 were barely cooked and all were raw inside. 2 of us sent the steaks back and explained that we would prefer them cooked inside. Now you would think if it comes back that there is no way that the chef would return a steak back raw but unfortunately our chef tonight decided to not finish the steaks as required. The bone in rib-eye I order often at restaurants all over and this was by far the worst one I have ever not been able to actually cut or eat. The owner/manager came by to ask how our meal was and I tried to explain without being too loud that we were not happy. Now this is where I was turned off the most instead of saying what is the issue or what can I do to make your experience better or to at-least try to make us happy. He walked away shaking his head. Our server took the 80 dollar bone in steak off the check and that was nice considering it was not edible but the manager owner I was very surprised to see such a reaction. Now I am a business owner myself and I of course don't like to hear complaints when a client is unhappy but how you handle that issue is crucial on how your business grows or sputters. Our 450 dollar dinner was not worth it that's for sure as a matter of fact it wasn't worth half that to be honest. This meal was with zero alcohol maybe if you go drink a lot ?? So you don't realize the main courses aren't cooked? I really wanted to give this place an amazing review because the competition had a 2 hour wait and here there was zero wait for outside and a 10-15 minute wait indoor. My advice to management is this if someone receives raw food offer to remake it instead of crediting it and if you have to send it back twice do something extraordinary to earn a repeat shot at this customer. I believe the quality of the beef was an issue. The rib-eye was so full of tendons their steak knife couldn't cut through it had to tear and work at it to get through the entire piece ?? I doubt very highly I will ever return. Maybe that's what he wants?? Customers that maybe don't know what good food really is? I read a bunch of reviews before we went and I thought I can't wait to help this place out and smash the other poor reviews but in the end the main dishes were just sub par. read more

We enjoyed the best meal of our trip at Broil. Every course was perfection. I opted for the freshly made Caesar salad. It was exceptionally good. The dressing was lovely and tart, and the housemade croutons made the salad extra special. My husband had the house salad, which was very attractively presented and filled with fresh ingredients. Choosing an entree was quite difficult since several of them sounded delicious. I chose the steak Sinatra, which consisted of 3 small filets over lobster mashed potatoes and topped with lobster newburg and French fried asparagus spears. The dish also came with an additional side. My husband went with the swordfish, which he really enjoyed. Even though we were stuffed, we decided to share a dessert. Their selections were all made in- house. We chose chocolate crème brûlée. It was fantastic, and paired really well with our Zinfandel and Malbec wine choices. Broil surprised us a bit, as we had driven by it several times, and we weren't prepared for how lovely it was inside. They have the loveliest colorful lamps on each table. Prices were way out of line with the quality of meals experienced. A funny sidenote the flatware was so cheap it was a huge distraction while eating. Silly but worth noting First time we've ever walked out of a restaurant and said damn the flatware was terrible. We would recommend you go there and give it a try. I enjoyed every aspect of this restaurant, cool and elegant ambience. With very pleasant owners and staff! Complementary fresh bread with hints of I asked for suggestions and everything mentioned sounded amazing. However, I settled for the VIP menu that changed regularly picture attached. First was the salad, beautifully crafted and freshly made, I asked for no dressing as a preference but I'm sure how good the salad was I would of liked the dressing. The steak was well prepared and very flavorful. Great proportions and the baked potato was excellent! Over all, I can't complain about anything about the meal. I ordered just a (9oz) glass of wine and the steak, over all the price was what I expected it to be around and no complaints. Final thoughts, it's a location that if your local or visiting, is a must. Was recommended to me and I'm grateful I made it out here. We visited the Key's before Christmas and found this little Steakhouse almost by accident. The inside was decorated very nicely, the staff is super friendly, salad, entrees and beverages were prepared perfectly. The 5 of us all ordered a different dish and all were delicious. What a nice experience!!! Four of us DINED at the Broil last evening. One of the best dining experiences I have ever had and I have had many since I am 88 years old. I didn't expect the place to be so elegant with a superb staff. It was late when we decided to go out to eat, so we called to see if they could seat us at 8:45 and the person on the phone was so gracious and said certainly. The food was excellent from the salad to the desert and we tried all four deserts. We have definitely found a new dining spot in the Florida Keys. We spend a month in the Lower Keys each year and we will definitely be back to The Broil!!!! read more

Folks who live North of mm10 don't have many fine dining options. Broil fits the bill in excellent food and service. Broil does not take reservations and quickly fills its tables and patio. We arrived at 4:50 and a line had already formed to enter. I dined here a week ago and our party of four all enjoyed our evening. Though Broil is considered a steak house our party opted for The Swordfish, Divers Scallops, Yellow Tail and double cut pork chops all received high marks. The presentation is a celebration as your meal arrives Under a silver dome. The servers create a percussion event as your meal is revealed. Broil has a relaxing tropical ambiance. Parking is ample. But like so many restaurants the acoustics are loud. Great food, just get there early or be prepared to wait. read more

Carter was our server. One of the items we ordered, Linguini Tuttomare. We asked that our pasta be prepared Al Dente. Carter explained that they WOULD NOT honor our request. He then went on to explain that they cook the pasta as soon as they arrive at the restaurant and pre portion into plastic bags. When a customers orders pasta they would just re-heat the pasta and serve. He followed up by saying the restaurant "Cooks to Order". Rather than explaining what he just explained was the opposite of "Cook to Order" I questioned why, for $59.95, they would not honor our wishes. He then explained that they only had 3 cooks, they were very busy, and it would take too long. I said we would wait to no avail. I could only see one dish that included linguini, it must be very popular. Carter, returned to say they would try but he offered "No Guarantees". The portion was adequate. However, the pasta was mushy in a heavy cream sauce. There were 6 medium size shrimp, mushrooms, but no lobster to be found. It looked as expected, not fresh. More like something you could purchase at Publix in the frozen food section and warmed in your microwave. Not nearly what you would expect for nearly $60. The 8oz filet was cooked as ordered. The Chicken Martini order was huge, half a chicken. The fish was a small portion and baked potato dry. With 3 drinks and 2 deserts, and coffee, our check was $368, $382 for using your credit card. We dined at this restaurant when they first opened. The service and quality of food preparation have diminished since then. I usually tip 20 to 25%. We do not hold the waitstaff responsible for the inadequacies of the kitchen. However, Carter's slow response and attempt to placate us with clumsy explanations only warranted 15%. My wife and I came here for a dinner date, and we both agreed that it was one of the best places we've ate at since we moved here 2 years ago. We started off with the Steakhouse Bruschetta and it was perfect! Numerous flavors and perfectly seasoned. Hopefully they move it to the permanent menu for appetizers along with maybe a seared tuna option? The salads were fresh and the bread was REALLY good, loved the char on it. The Filet Mignon that I got was cooked perfect. I told our waiter I'd like it RARE, and the chef came out and spoke to me about it since they cook their steaks over wood. He cooked it "Pittsburgh style." He got it perfect, and even came to check on it afterwards. Wife got the Chicken maritini and it was FULL of flavor. Excellent all around and I highly recommend this to anyone. Side note- they are Beer and Wine only at the moment, not sure if they are going to move into liquor I didn't ask. The atmosphere was ok the decor was somewhat rustic and vintage. But it is very loud almost to the point of resembling a packed dive bar. Service was good! But to the most important part the food. I had the Beef Wellington and the beef was cooked perfectly. The puff pastry was very gummy and it was not cooked as described with the prosciutto being piled on the bottom instead of being on the top. Definitely not worth $65! We also had the "Yellow Belly" Yellowtail. The flavor was bland with a very fishy taste. Which is not something you usually get with Snapper. Also beware that when ordering most entrees come with a salad and a side. On the menu it does not show a up charge with a Caesar Salad but it was a $12 up charge. The Caesar Salad was tasty but does not warrant a $12 up charge. All in all I wouldn't recommend this restaurant when there are much better restaurants less than half an hour away that's in the same price range if not less expensive. read more

Ok, this place was my favorite. It's on the fancier and pricier side, but well worth every penny! We got the sword fish which was in a white wine lobster sauce () and a sirloin steak. We each got a baked potato which was fantastically cooked with a salty crust, and a salad with their homemade Caesar and blue cheese dressings. Both were incredible but that blue cheese dressing is what dreams are made of. If I ever go back I will order a steak with the lobster sauce because that was the perfect combo, which we happened upon because I decided to randomly dip my steak in. It was heavenly and I would suggest you pair the steak with it! Our waitress was awesome, helpful with suggestions and very friendly. Okay so I'll start off by comparing this too Berns steak house up in Tampa, florida. Small, elegant little place, you walk inside and man does it look like a true 5 star. I would highly recommend!! I ended up getting the steak Sinatra with the filet mignonette tips!!! It was incredible.
