The Conch Shack is exactly what you want when you're in Key West, casual, local, and full of flavor. The food is fresh and well prepared, especially the conch dishes, which are clearly the highlight of the menu. Everything we tried was seasoned well and came out hot and tasty. All fried..... The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, making it a great stop whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a laid-back meal. Service was friendly and efficient, even when it was busy. Not quite a fine-dining spot, but that's not the point. It delivers solid food, good portions, and authentic island vibes. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for classic Key West eats.
Aww, I'm so glad we made it because my sister had been talking about this place for a while. She and my brother-in-law went to Key West some time ago and passed by this location. They didn't stop then, but after reading the reviews, they promised themselves that the next time they came back, this would be one of the first places they visited--and it was exactly the first stop we made. It reminded me of a small, quaint little mom-and-pop food stand that attracts a lot of people. When we arrived, there were already two families in line. The menu offered a variety of different options. We ended up ordering conch fritters and fries. I can't remember what everyone else had, and of course, by the time we thought about taking photos, the food was already gone. Now mind you, I had never had conch before--I'd only heard my sister talk about how good it was--so this was my first time. The staff was incredibly nice and made sure we had everything we needed. We sat outside, enjoyed our food under the umbrella, and soaked it all in. There's even a sign that says, "Do not feed the birds." And trust me--there are pigeons just walking around, patiently waiting for you to share your food... but don't do it `
For a little shack along Duval St, they had pretty good fish and chips (fries). I tried the conch fritters and it wasn't my favorite, but that may just be me since I've never had conch before. Reasonable prices for Key West food. The guy working the front window was pleasant enough and the food was ready within five minutes. They have very very limited seating outside the shack (nothing inside), but it's right beside an outdoor bar so you get to listen to their music as you eat.
Good food truck style restaurant for a quick bite to eat. You walk up and order and they have a few places to sit but its definitely not a sit down restaurant. The food was ready pretty quick. We ordered thier conch fritters and a lobster roll. Word of wisdom, in the keys they dont heat the lobster in the roll unless you ask so that was interesting. The lobster was amazing though, so tender. The conch fritters were also really good even though i am not usually the biggest fan of conch. Price was also reasonable.

The lobster roll had a veryyy generous amount of lobster - although I could've done with some less butter on the bun. We tried the conch fritters - they were okay. I never tried before so I don't have anything to compare to. My BF liked the fritters and thought the empanadas were decent but not a fave. The service was friend and quick.
Excellent spot! It's definitely a shack (limited seating and drinks) but they house a lot of delicious food in here! They were my first official conch fritters and holy hell were they amazing. Packed with flavour! The dip accompanying them was also incredibly unique and delicious. The lobster roll - we went back again another day in our trip to get a second. So so so good. It is served cold (hot toasted bun) but this CT-roll-loving girl had no qualms about gobbling it down!
Ordered the shrimp basket and it was delicious! Shrimp very fresh and the hand cut fries perfect. The staff was friendly and I have no complaints.

It was so hot today in Key West and needed a conch salad as a refreshing meal. The Conch Shack is just that, a shack on Duval Street in front of the Hogs Breath Saloon. Took a seat and waited about 15 minutes for a good portion of conch salad served in a basic basket. The conch was thankfully tender.
The conch fritters were hot, crispy and served with a delicious key lime aioli sauce. They were ready within 10 minutes as promised. This quick service food stop off of Duval Street had the typical Key West vibe.
Simple, quick service shack that can allow you to try Conch for the very first time if you haven't. Once finished, step next door to the lady shouting $5 for the $5 store you'll see all around Key West like ABC store in Hawaii.

Location- excellent located on a main walking busy popular street. Food- it was okay, excellent service and quick We ordered Sample platter- mainly fries on the bottle, only 4 pieces of fried conch and 2-3 fried conch fritters. The conch was good size, the ratio of the batter to conch is not balance- too much batter and dry. The Sample conch ceviche is was tiny contain in a ketchup dipping sauce container. read more

This shack came highly recommended from social media so I was excited to try "Key West's best conch fritters". However, this was not our experience. The conch fritters were overcooked and burnt. They were extremely hard and crunchy. We did notice that the cook stepped away for a long time while our conch fritters were in the deep fryer cooking, causing them to be overcooked. However, we were the only customers there, so they could have easily remade a fresh batch that was not overcooked. I would not try this shack again or recommend it to others. read more
During my recent trip to key west, I was determined to find the best lobster roll and this place was highly recommended. It was a small location with 4 chairs outside but it was worth it. They served up our food quickly! We got the conch fritters and the lobster roll. I quickly learned that places in the keys don't heat up your lobster unless you ask so this one was chilled but it was still really good. We both left full and satisfied and we would rate it high on the list of best lobster rolls! read more

Simple grilled up foods here. This shop is located at the far end of Duval Street near Mallory Square. Tequenos $8, chicken tenders and fries $13, fish sandwich $13 and lobster rolls $23. Cold bottled water was $2.15 each and well worth it due to the extreme heat here. read more

My husband and I like to try new-to-us foods when we travel. We stumbled upon The Conch Shack during a recent short trip to Key West, and had to try their conch fritters. Widely consumed in the Bahamas and southern Florida, minced conch (shellfish) are traditionally mixed into a seasoned batter made of cornmeal, chopped vegetables (onions, bell peppers, celery, jalapeño peppers), lemon juice, tomato paste, and seasonings (creole seasoning, black pepper). After being formed into bite-sized balls and deep-fried, the fritters are served with a dipping sauce. In the case of this restaurant, it's a tangy key lime aioli dipping sauce. We ordered a 6-piece order "snack" to share ($10, Feb 2024) from the walk-up counter. Staff we're friendly, and the fritters were served hot from the oil and the accompanying beer was cold. The fritters and dipping sauce were both tasty. We ate this at the small outdoor long table, while listening to the sounds (no visuals) of live music from a neighboring establishment. The table is tucked into a side alley; it's not on the main road. A stray rooster wandered nearby. There are no restrooms; indoor seating is not available). Our ratings. Food taste: 5/5. Value: 4/5. Staff: 5/5. Location: 5/5 (on pedestrian-friendly and busy Duval Street). Ambiance/seating: 2/5. read more

I was looking for a good "cheap" spot in Key West to get fried seafood and found this place. While $67 is not exactly cheap by my standards for what we got, I guess it is relative to Key West. Anyway, I had the seafood platter and Hubby had the lobster roll and fries. The fish and shrimp in my platter tasted fresh and were really good. The conch fritters were pretty spicy as they have jalapeños in them, but they balanced well with the tartar sauce. Hubby said his lobster roll was "a'ight". The hand cut fries are amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful and the place is what you would expect from a "shack"...counter service and outdoor seating. There was live music at the bar next door, so that added a nice vibe. read more

Fried goodness in conch form you sooo know I'm all over that! So this was basically a little hole in the wall spot that had just what we were searching for right as we walked by so we got it! Our conch was very tasty totally yummy and just hit the fried spot very much so my favorite of the two sauces tasted like a spicy thousand island and it really went well with them as the batter was yummy and the conch nice and chewy definitely making for an awesome treat! Overall yummy conch and a chill spot to stop while your on your adventure so definitely give it a shot as it was quite yummy and they were very quick! read more
Conch is a big deal down in the keys and I would recommend giving this place a try! This is a tiny little spot over on Duval Street! There are a few seats around the shack and it feels very much like a diner since you can see them prepare your order! The staff here were very friendly! They took my order and chatted with me while it was cooking. After I received my hot a fresh trio, they continued to ask if I needed anything and how it was tasting! The food: I love ceviche, so I wish you got a larger order but it was still tasty! The fried conch was my least favorite, only because of the texture it is chewy and hard to eat. The sauces were delicious with these tho! The conch fitters were tasty but definitely more breading than conch. Overall, if you are looking for a snack or a meal option, come say hello to these friendly people and enjoy some fresh conch! read more
I was very excited to try their conch fritters. I'm honestly not impressed. The conch pieces were hard and chewy. There wasn't much flavor. I wanted to try their lobster roll but I decided not to. The menu has a nice a selection of food options including burger and hot dogs. It was quick and service was alright. read more

A 3.5 for The Conch Shack, which is literally a shack located on the bustling Duval St. in Key West. According to the owner, as of Saturday 8/12/23, they would've been here for 14 years. If you haven't tried conch fritters (sounds like konk) it's a shelled seafood dipped in batter and deep fried, and usually served with a spicy sauce. We ordered a dozen conch fritters and a fish sandwich. These fritters were better than other places we tried, but be warned, it's mostly breaded batter. Still, makes for a good snack while in the Keys. 4/5. We also got a fried fish sandwich. The bun it came on was perfect. But the fish itself was bland and it looked like they were a few small pieces of fish stacked on top of each other instead of one filet. 2/5. The food was prepared quickly and stayed hot and crispy in the bag even after about 15 minutes. There are only 4 counter seats to eat at the front and a few more in the back. Menu is posted outside for anyone to see. I view this as a novelty place since The Keys are known for conch, but wouldn't come back in a hurry since there are many other places that also claim to have very good conch. read more
The place is called the Conch Shack and it is a little shack. There is limited seating so you may need to plan to take your food to go. If you like Beer then you can get a can of beer here for only $5 to go with your food. I think my the hand cut fries are best thing. The seafood platter was great. The seafood was perfectly fried. With fried food I always worry about it being over cooked but that was not the case here. The fried conch was also was very good too. I would call the ambience here as rustic. read more

Loved this conch shack on Duval Street. Friendly service, fresh seafood and good portion. I recommend the conch ceviche and the fried shrimp with fries. Wash it down with a cold Corona . You can also hear live music from the venue next door. read more
