    Key Lime Pie
    Brianna C.

We came here on vacation and were told this restaurant was a must try! Even though it's not pictured, we had the mahi tacos, shrimp tacos and chicken potstickers. They all were pretty good but nothing stood out. The star of the show that is pictured is their infamous Key Lime Pie. This pie was a hefty slice ($13) and more than enough to share. The meringue was toasted perfectly, the filling had a delicious tartness to it but the crust was so hard! We could barely cut the bottom of the pie because this crust was so hard. Eventually, we just ate the filling and meringue without the crust due to the hassle. I wasn't as amazed as I expected to be from the praises this restaurant gets but I would be willing to try again. The food came out very quickly and the customer service was great!

I came here for breakfast with my son, who is a vegetarian. They had options for him. The restaurant was adorable, the service was good and the food was good. I had 2 scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, potatoes, toast and coffee. My son had a tofu scrambled on a croissant with avocado. Both plates came with a watermelon slice which was a nice touch and quite delicious. The bakery section looked fantastic but we were going out and about so couldn't get anything to go.

Came here twice on our trip! Key lime pie was delicious, and I loved their tropical pineapple cake. Banana cream pie was good too. It's also right next to Hemingway house and the lighthouse which gives you a nice break between tours.

Moondog has some truly unique flavors and we enjoyed our dinner visit! We got the Mac N cheese, steak tacos, and Key Lime Pie. I honestly think this key lime pie was the best one we tried on the island. Although, Publix is still my favorite. The Mac N Cheese was delicious it is very non traditional so be prepared for some sharper flavors. We went when it was freezing cold so we had to sit on the outside patio because inside was on a waitlist. We still got our food relatively quickly and the waiter was very nice. I would definitely return back here for another dinner in the future. All in all great place!

As soon as you come in, you can see scrumptious desserts in the glass displays. I got the key lime pie with torched meringue. It is very sweet and not tart. I enjoy the thick graham cracker crust and the high meringues. I wanted to try more of the dessert but I was bummed by the unfriendly girl at the counter. I said hi to her but she ignored me. To add to the insult, she helped a lady who came after me. Definitely not a good customer service.

Went for breakfast. There was a bit of a wait due to popularity. The food here is amazing. Plenty of gluten free and vegan options. We loved breakfast so much that we went back for dinner the next day. The bakery items are soooooo goooooood!

Moondog is so incredible that I ordered takeaway 3 times during my trip! Online ordering was super easy, and the food was always ready on time. The staff are nice, and the food tasted fresh. We loved the variety on the menu because there's something for everyone. There is indoor seating, as well as outdoor seating, and it was always fairly busy no matter the time of day we ordered food (understandably-- it's THAT good), so prepare accordingly. Cons: My key lime pie tipped over in the takeaway box, and we did not receive utensils or napkins each time we ordered takeaway.

The weight is long. They don't take reservations and parking is tough outside if you have a car. It's best to walk here as it's an a lively place right across from the Hemingway House. Getting a pastry or a coffee is a good way to go if you don't have time to sit down. I got the seafood omelette and it was delicious! I highly recommend this place if you have the time and don't mind waiting for a table.

Came here for the key lime pie, stayed for the creme brûlée croissant! This bake shop in key west has a rustic feel to it to welcome you with the baked good inside along with a cafe. There's also a side store where you just do Togo orders (which we opted for) with a friendly attendant. One thing in key west I was recommended to do was get a key lime pie. We saw a few places but this place had the "best looking" and most "insta worthy" pie. It was kinda pricey for a slice but it was massive! It overall was just okay. The crust was kinda dry and the meringue overpowered the pie itself. However, we also got the creme brulee croissant. My partner wanted the ham and cheese but they didn't have it so we opted for this instead. It was delicious! The crunch of the brown sugar on the croissant and the creme inside was rich but kept you wanting more! Overall, we will be back for the creme brûlée croissant, just thinking about it is watering my mouth!

Service and Food were amazing. We had the Dad's Red Sangria half pitcher and it was a better deal than getting a single glass. Not too strong and very refreshing. Shared Avocado Caprese. Ingredients were all fresh. Avocado were thinly sliced. Fig and Gorgonzola pizza Gluten free crust was very delicious. Lots of Fig and wasn't overly sweet and went well with Gorgonzola cheese. The crust was really good and couldn't tell it was Gluten free. Had to end with a variety of desserts. We had shared mini key lime pie, slice of carrot cake, and slice of banana cream pie. All were Gluten free and very delicious. Love the vibrant colors. From the wall mural to the Moon sign with a bike. Give lots of compliments and thanks to the waiter that was sure to make my friend with celiac feel safe with no cross contamination.

The bakery case itself is a reason to return here. Everything looked so good. Enjoyed a nice lunch on the outdoor patio. Had to try the key lime pie. Have to say it was the best I've had while on vacation here. Meringue, while necessary, was not the star. The pie itself hit all the right notes of tart and graham cracker crust

Had dinner and returned the next day for dessert! For dinner, we ordered the many different pizza options Moondog offered, and our favorite was the Brussels sprouts white pizza. It had a tasty combination of flavors. As they ran out of key lime pie during our dinner service, we opted for the raspberry pistachio tart instead, which was really nice. I really liked the pastry they used, and the filling was delicious. The next day was our last day in the Keys, and it would not be complete without a key lime pie, so we stopped by in the afternoon for a few slices to share along with some cups of tea. If you're a meringue fan, then this is the pie for you, it's got quite the height but is super light and fluffy and complements the tartness of the key lime really well. A great way to say farewell to Key West. As we visited this spot two times on our visit, we also got to experience sitting both indoors and outdoors. Their outdoor seating is super cozy, and it feels like we were on someone's wraparound porch, which is super fitting since this restaurant is tucked in between homes! The indoor has some charming decor. I really liked their lantern-like lighting choices, the colorful murals on the wall, and the mounted moon bicycle. It made the visit super memorable. We were accommodated very easily as a party of 6 both times (albeit we ate around 9 pm the first day and 3 pm the next day). The staff were very friendly and easy-going with us. Overall, a convenient and quirky spot to get a bite to eat in Key West. There's something for everyone on the menu from breakfast to dinner!

    Blackberry Lemonade

This place was slammed for Saturday brunch. We ate outside despite the humidity. "Rafaela from Romania" was our waitress and she took great care of us. I ordered the Ham & Cheese Omelet with a side of sourdough. How could something so simple be so tasty? The homemade blackberry lemonade was refreshing and sweet. The restrooms were clean but were constantly occupied so it took a couple tries before one finally opened up.

    Fresh made pastries!

The market is highly curated with such great brands. It was obvious someone was very passionate about high quality food, and loves the people of Key West. We stocked up on some goodies before the flight home. The food from the cafe was DELICIOUS! We went four days in a row. During our trip, we enjoyed the Pesto Garden Wrap with chicken (5/5), açaí bowl (4/5), berry bliss smoothie (5/5), and citrus C smoothie (3/5). Citrus C was good but strong on the ginger. Water is provided for free! When you stay and enjoy your smoothie outside, you almost get two cups worth. My daughter and I split both smoothies every visit. Some employees are more welcoming than others. We found when a very sweet blonde girl (maybe the owner?) was there, everyone was on the same page. Please take the time and enjoy this little gem! We often joke, during these grey months, we will fly down from Maine just for lunch.
