SO SO GOOD! Just drove cross country and was dying for some REAL food after days of french fries. The steak shawarma wrap and beef kofta lunch were so tasty and fresh. Highly recommend!!!

Martha, Husband, Daughter and new Grandson!

The food was fantastic! Everything was made by hand and the food was seasoned to perfection. Best Chicken Kabob of my life! My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of meeting Martha and the rest of her family in person. 3 generations and running strong!

    Lamb Loubee Pita and Humus

Ordered the special Lamb Loubee. Amazing, came with homemade humus and Pita as well as a large side salad.

The best lamb kabobs ever! Tzatziki so good my breath is now fresh! Rice cooked to perfection

The food is amazing but the owners bring it to another level. You need to try their yogurt, they make our twice a week and it is to die for.

Nothing is better than feeling that there's immediate rapport with whoever will be crafting your time at whichever restaurant and at whatever price point. Our anniversary is on the 13th (I know, what was I thinking) so we rarely speak about it to avoid puzzled looks. So on we went, my husband getting his half dozen oysters and me the whipped warm feta (literally I could've stopped there). Note: Tino's has switched pickle juice into the mignonette sauce so if that isn't your taste the chef can, and did, make up a more purist version. The Cod came with a green crab demi but I was really in a lemon mood, and it was a gorgeous sauce substitute all sitting on top of risotto prepared legitimately al dente. The Cod was a fabulous white fish crisped up perfectly at the edges. Just simply delicious. My husband chose the Pumpkin Ravioli, a favorite, and reported that although he felt that the filling amount was less than in the past, it was still delicious. Absolutely no room for dessert and we were surprised with an anniversary treat of having the feta appetizer become the 'gift' and removed from the bill. Such a lovely touch. Thank you to Campbell...we're so happy to have met, and spent time with you in that glorious restaurant!

Tino's has always been one of our favorite restaurants. A year or two ago, I would have given them…read more5 stars. Sadly, they seem to have forgotten what made them great! The char-grilled lamb lollipops and the lamb shank used to be part of the Greek influence that made Tino's exceptional. For some reason, they have stripped down the menu and changed all the things that we liked. The lamb chops are no longer char-grilled bites of excellence, but were smothered in a curry sauce. The lamb shank was replaced by a lamb stew -- not the same! Last time we were there, we ordered the octopus appetizer. Delicious, but it was a microscopic portion. The bread plate was minimal. The restaurant seem to be distancing themselves from their Greek origin, but that's a huge mistake! Even their non-Greek dishes that were SO good are gone. Their Cacio e Pepe used to be outstanding. Gone from the menu. The menu tonight was just...OK... like so many other restaurants, but not great! What's gone wrong? New management, new chef? Whatever it is, please bring back the Tino's that we used to love! The bar used to be crowded every night of the week and we were lucky to get a reservation. Tonight, we had no problem getting a reservation. There were empty seats at the bar and empty tables. On the positive side, the bartender and the drinks were great! I hope the restaurant remembers why they used to be great. We will come back to see if things have gotten better, but not right away -- only after giving the restaurant some time to remember its identity.

About a year later, I found myself craving authentic Mediterranean food again, so I started searching for restaurants around New Hampshire. That's when I came across Ayasofia. As I looked through the menu and photos, everything seemed so familiar--it reminded me of the dishes I had loved at Mediterrano. The next day, my husband and I decided to drive an hour to Salem to try it out, and it was completely worth it. After speaking with the owner, we learned that Mediterrano had actually been owned by a member of his family and that they use the same recipes. It all made perfect sense! The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, even encouraging us to return and meet his mother, who taught him these recipes. I highly recommend the hummus, baba ghanoush, salsa, and grape leaves--they're all fantastic. Be sure to order the lavash bread on the side, as it pairs perfectly with everything. For a main course, the adana lamb kebab is a must-try. Everything tastes incredibly fresh and full of flavor. I only wish I could cook like this--I'd happily eat Mediterranean food every single day!

My husband was particularly excited by how the rice was made. The grape leaves were good and the dinners came with the red cabage and salad. Delicious. I also got the Raki, because I was having Turkish food, but all the cocktails sounded very good. We did not sit in the bar, but they sounded like they were having the time of their lives in there. At one point Rod Stewart came on over the speakers and you could hear them shouting "ROD!!!" I was like, shit - Turkish food AND the regulars love Rod Stewart? Sign me up! If we lived anywhere near here, we'd be back.

And it seems I wasn't the only one who discovered this hidden gem. When we got here, the spot was packed inside. Despite this we ordered three different items for a sit-down experience, and still received everything within 25 minutes. I ordered the lamb shawarma wrap on one occasion, and it was love at first bite. The wrap itself was toasted to a perfect brown crisp on the outside, yet retaining softness underneath, where it encapsulated the ranch-like sauce where it mixed with the sliced lettuce, carrots, onions and tomatoes to give it a well rounded, mixed, creamy flavor of the vegetables. The lamb meat itself was the primary vehicle of salt and spice (with emphasis on the garlic), yet never being dry. All this being considered, the wrap never fell apart, and held together the entire journey. I made the mistake of ordering the lamp wrap my first go here, because the next occasion I came here, I got the chicken shawarma bowl. Although the rice, sauce, chicken and vegetables all inherited the same flavor profile as the wrap, the bowl fell wildly below my expectations as it was impossible to get a truly full bite of every single thing utilizing a small fork. Nonetheless, this is truly the spot for a reliable bite that emulates a small taste of the Middle East.

The Family Platter #2 is also a fantastic option if you want to sample a bit of everything. Our favorites were the baba ghannouj, layered kibbee, and the super refreshing tabouli. Our server was attentive and had great recommendations. It's clearly a fine dining restaurant with reasonable prices. I am a fan of Lebanese food, but this place elevated the experience. The server mentioned that the lentil soup was amazing and he was correct. The soup was seasoned with rich vibrant Mediterranean spices. The grains in the soup added extra texture and elevated the humble soup. The kibbeh balls were fantastic. I have had kibbeh balls before, but these were the best: crispy on the outside and moist and perfectly seasoned ground meat on the inside. There were pine nuts and minced onions in the kibbeh that elevated the dish. Then came the kaftah kebabs with grilled vegetables. Those vegetables were grilled nicely. The ground beef and lamb kaftah kebabs were spectacular. So meaty! These kebabs didn't have fillers. They were beautifully seasoned, grilled nicely and moist on the inside. What a delight! I recommend this establishment.
