    Chicken Shawarma
    Noah F.

This place is fantastic. Went here with some friends and didn't know what to expect. Our server was awesome! And super friendly and helpful. He was in such good spirit. The place is nice and open and we were one of the o lay few tables. We got the pita chips to start which were great. Then we all got the chicken and the beef gyro and I got the chicken shawarma. Everything was so great! Some of the best shawarma I've had in Portland! And everything else was packed with authentic flavors. The fried and sweet potatoe fries are also some of my favorite in all of Portland. We finished off the dinner with the pistachio ice cream and Dubai chocolate which was recommended by our server which was a good end to the meal. Definitely check this place out as soon as possible. It's fantastic and you will not be disappointed in any way.

    Lamb Gyro

Absolutely delicious. Had the Greek salad and lamb gyro. Phenomenal flavor. Great customer service as well. We are visiting from out of two so just happened to stop by. If we come back to Portland we will be back here! Comfy chairs too! Nice music

Lunch time at work and where to go? Started wandering around Commercial Street for something easy and handheld and Olive was perfect and the Gyro pulled me in. I'm a lover of an authentic Gyro and this place looked like the real deal. I was greeted immediately and offered a menu and a drink. I informed the gentleman I was here for to-go which he seemed happy about. The decor is middle eastern in feel with pretty decorations and a fair amount of seating. Did not have to wait long at all and boom it was done. I promptly took my tasty and found outside seating by the water. Oh so DELICIOUS! Everything was spot on! I had not a crumb left when it was all done. I have made a lunch date with a co-worker and we are headed here! If you love a great Guro, seek no more.

Delicious, refreshing, and simple. Really enjoyed the meal for nice authentic mediterranean flavours but not too strong for those with milder palate. The beef gyro was delicious with nicely browned beef, refreshing tzatziki, and a yummy pita. Also tried the Kibbeh platter with couscous. Very delicious and a perfect portion. Potentially lacked some acid in both dishes to amplify the flavors. Turkish coffee was a great experience that I highly recommend if you enjoy coffee. Prepared traditionally heating in metal small pot and very aromatic with strong notes of cardamom. Overall, had a pleasant meal.

What an incredible place. The owner, Ray, provided us with authentic Lebanese cuisine. The stuffed grape leaves were insanely delicious, as was the gyro wrap, pickled veggies, and Greek salad. My boyfriend said his margarita was great, too. Beautiful location by the waterfront, and just an amazing experience all around! Music, vibe...loved it!

Don't, for heaven's sake, park on Forest Ave. With the lane-hopping speedsters it is too dangerous for you to exit from the driver's side. And it seems I wasn't the only one who discovered this hidden gem. When we got here, the spot was packed inside. Despite this we ordered three different items for a sit-down experience, and still received everything within 25 minutes. I ordered the lamb shawarma wrap on one occasion, and it was love at first bite. The wrap itself was toasted to a perfect brown crisp on the outside, yet retaining softness underneath, where it encapsulated the ranch-like sauce where it mixed with the sliced lettuce, carrots, onions and tomatoes to give it a well rounded, mixed, creamy flavor of the vegetables. The lamb meat itself was the primary vehicle of salt and spice (with emphasis on the garlic), yet never being dry. All this being considered, the wrap never fell apart, and held together the entire journey. I made the mistake of ordering the lamp wrap my first go here, because the next occasion I came here, I got the chicken shawarma bowl. Although the rice, sauce, chicken and vegetables all inherited the same flavor profile as the wrap, the bowl fell wildly below my expectations as it was impossible to get a truly full bite of every single thing utilizing a small fork. Nonetheless, this is truly the spot for a reliable bite that emulates a small taste of the Middle East.

The falafel was pretty crispy and the inside was slightly moist. The tahini sauce helped elevate the falafels. I loved the chicken shwarma and the sauce that went well with the juicy chicken. The bread was toasted and very good. I enjoyed this, and would probably eat here regularly for a chicken shwarma if I lived nearby. I'd try more things if I ever pass through here again. They have some parking, not a lot. I definitely recommend the shwarma.

We are so lucky to walk up at 8 pm and get a table. Not any table, but next to the kitchen. It was so awesome to sit there and watch their masterpieces come to life. The amount of pans and flames on the fire was pretty cool. We waited a bit for our waiter, but once he arrived he was attentive and did well. Bread service was delicious. Butter cokes our very cold, we used the candle to warm it. They wait staff got a chuckle out of that and said rush cooks give us melted butter. Ha ha We ordered the grilled octopus as an appetizer. Deliciously prepared and cooked. Mmmm. I ordered the special--Tuna Ragu My husband sword fish Swordfish was a little over cooked but the flavor was very good. Fish. Delicious. Now let's talk about the tuna Ragu. It was the most delicious strange thing I've had yet on this trip. My Brain was like... why is there fish in this pasta and my tastebuds are like who the heck cares this amazing. The homemade pasta was delicate and fluffy yet cooked al dente and soaked up all the sauce/gravy. The tuna had a slight fish taste, but it was fresh- perfect and not over whelming. There had to be a spicy sausage hidden in there because every other bite was bursting with a spicy hint. Absolute perfection! They tried to give us the dessert menu, but we were so full. If you can get in on a walk in night. Definitely do it!

It's likely we just showed up during an off day/time but left more disappointed than excited. Booked a reservation for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary of when we started dating and they did include a card thanking us for choosing to celebrate it with them. Was a nice little touch. Inside has a rustic feeling vibe and the low ceilings does make it quite loud. Our server eventually greeted us and took our drink orders. I had a spicy tequila cocktail called Kissies and Poppies while my wife had a gin based cocktail called Secret Garden. Both were decent but nothing special enough to rush back for. Appetizer wise the only one on their menu during our visit was freshly sliced prosciutto which was tasty but did not stand out anymore than your typical grocery store prosciutto. For the main event and the purpose of checking them out my wife got the Shrimp Linguine in Butter and Garlic. I gave their Grilled Lobster Linguine in Butter and Garlic a try. Both dishes had great flavor and they did not skimp on garlic! Lobster does come in shell and our server did warn us. Despite the good taste the slow service really left a sour taste in our mouths. Our reservation was for 9:30 PM (showed up a bit early) and didn't receive food til almost 10:30 or after and we ordered relatively quick. Our server did come over once during our wait saying it would be soon. Though once we got our food the server didn't check on us again til we finished. Maybe it was due to being part of the last meals being served. Not a great excuse but who knows, extremely lackluster service for a higher end spot that should make you feel welcome! We did skip out on dessert to avoid more waiting. Im glad so many people enjoy this spot, but if my wife and I are feeling a nicer dinner we will go elsewhere!
