The smashburgers and fries were a hit as well. The vegetable Wellington was delicious- really didn't know what to expect but it was a cool take on a tired classic. The wines were reasonably priced - we had a Mas Josephine Côtes du Rhône, which paired nicely with the pasta.

We visited midday, and the staff was all so friendly. They let us pick our seat outside (it wasn't busy yet) so we could be in the shade but still enjoy the heat and flowers and birds; and, they were so patient with us when we were definitely not (on multiple occasions) ready to order. When we offhandedly remarked how parched we were, our server hooked us up with BIG water glasses - and really, it's the little things like that that set a place apart. The drinks were good! I got a mocktail that tasted like a jazzed up Shirley Temple. Appreciate that they have mocktails for, as of writing this, under $10. For me, however, the food was a let down. While there's plenty of gluten-free options, the vegan options are almost non-existent. It seems like it's $20 for a plate of cold vegetables, $20 for a plate of grilled vegetables, or $20 for a pizza with red sauce and more grilled vegetables. The pizzas themselves are kind of small, I think. It says 12", but when ours arrived... it looked like the same size that I might slide out of a frozen pizza from the store. If you've got no dietary restrictions, you'll probably feel differently than me, but I wouldn't come here to eat. Actually, my recommendation is this: come an hour before they open, park your car, and go wander their genuinely lovely trail system. It's mostly flat (there are some rooty areas), and there's SO. MUCH. COOL. ART. to look at. At least one piece will make you smile and become something you talk about later... when you're sitting at the restaurant outside (the Adirondack chairs overlooking the woods is very Maine) enjoying a cocktail.

It was about 11:30 and the place was getting busy. By the time we left there was a short line out the door waiting to be seated and the parking lot was full. My fish sandwich and fries were fresh and tasty. My husband's chicken salad wrap and fries were equally good. Great views of the marina, comfortable tables, very good service. We will definitely be back.

Let's start with the cocktails, because they truly deserve top billing. I always order the seasonal espresso martini, and somehow it just keeps getting better. This time it was tiramisu-inspired, and it was unreal. Rich, balanced, not overly sweet, and actually tasted like the dessert without feeling heavy. Whoever is behind that bar knows exactly what they're doing. The fish and chips? You cannot go wrong. Perfectly crisp batter, flaky fish, and fries that hold their own. It's one of those dishes you order once and then find yourself thinking about days later. That said, everything we've tried over multiple visits has been consistently excellent. It's the kind of menu where you feel safe branching out because you know it's going to deliver. The space itself adds to the whole experience. The architecture is beautiful, with warm wood tones and big windows that bring in natural light and make the river views part of the meal. It manages to feel polished and special without being stuffy. You can dress up a little or come in relaxed and still feel right at home. And the service is always attentive in that effortless way. Our servers have consistently been knowledgeable, present, and genuinely welcoming without hovering. It makes the whole night feel easy.

My husband had chicken fingers, which just seemed like frozen & fried chicken tenders. Nothing special. My entree was a small spinach and wild mushroom specialty pizza. While the topping of caramelized mushrooms, spinach and Gorgonzola with a balsamic glaze drizzle was a good combo, the crust was very bland and did not have any flavor. Pizza is all about the crust, and I prefer a thick, chewy crust although I eat other types often. This crust was more like Greek style, but thinner. I would not go back for the pizza, which for a pizza place, is not ideal. I have had the wings in the past, which were good. The server was friendly. There is a bar area which was quite full of what appeared to be regulars.

I sat at the bar (full service, for those who require that!), and the food, beer, and service were all wonderful. The cheeseburger (cheese smash burger) was tasty, No fries, onion rings, cheese sticks are available, but they do have potato chips, etc. For the price of a cheeseburger, chips and soda (over $20, not including the optional tip) I would have expected more. It's just a single smash burger patty with cheese, in a "Pub" without even full table service.
