My wife told me that friends and coworkers love this place and have encouraged her to go. We spent the morning at Popham Beach and decided to stop for lunch on the way home. Even before we ordered we were immediately struck by the kindness and friendliness of the lady behind the counter, whom I am assuming is the owner. We ordered the chicken stew and a key lime pie dessert to share. The stew was super good, but I must say it was soon forgotten once we tried the key lime dessert..... simply amazing!! My wife and I fought for every last bite. We are both excited to go back, especially to try the salads which look really good.

Quick update for their NEW LOCATION at 770 Washington St., downtown Bath, in the old Frosty Donut building. Same stupendous soups and huge scrumptious salads and sandwiches. I sort of liked the old peaceful spot but it was out of the way. Service was delightful and there are available tables for the front (if not set up just ask).

This is what fresh looks like!

Made With Love Today we had the good folks at Run with Soup cater our lunch at the Atlantic Motorcar team meeting. A total of 12 lunches, each packed meticulously in individual team member bags with a name label on each. Super simple to hand out, an unexpected but much-appreciated step. Provided to us nicely, all packed up and ready to go in boxes. With some extras thrown in. What can I say? The food is absolutely delicious, super healthy, tasty, and freshly prepared. Our entire team rated it a "5 Star" lunch for quality, value, and taste. And this is a tough crowd to please; they loved it! In addition, the Run with Soup folks were super friendly and helpful to work with, sending over a menu, accepting an e-mailed order, and clearly prepared the order with exacting care, ready for pickup early. So refreshing to experience, as tasty as their food! If you're looking for a great cafe that has locally prepared, healthy, and super tasty dishes, this is your spot. Run, don't walk, you'll thank me later! We love working with and supporting our great local businesses and are grateful for these wonderful folks! - Bruce

Incredible find in an old hospital that is now apartments and artwork--and this cafe. The directions are a little roundabout in a residential neighborhood (we missed the turn and had to come back around) but it's not far off Route One. But it is worth finding it. We had amazing soups--cucumber yogurt and red pepper/smoked Gouda. The sandwiches were stuffed full of delicious fresh ingredients--Sriracha hummus wrap and curried chicken salad. We took home some of the creative potato salad and pasta salads. You can call in your order and pick up or there are tables outside and inside in the wide hallway. Plenty of parking. Owner is very friendly.

I walked in thinking I'd order something simple, but Jocelyn somehow anticipated exactly what I wanted before I even said it -- an oatmeal latte with honey infused right into the espresso. It was warm, silky, lightly sweet, and honestly one of the most thoughtful, dialed‑in drinks I've had anywhere. You can tell when someone really knows their craft, and she absolutely does. We also grabbed the curried chicken sandwich, which was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect balance of creamy and bright. It's the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid‑bite and go, "Wait... this is really good." The whole place has that cozy‑local‑favorite energy -- friendly staff, great food, and the kind of coffee that makes you want to reroute your trip just to come back again. If you're driving through Freeport, Camden, or anywhere along the coast, Wild Oats is 100% worth the detour.

Please note there are 2 breakfast menus- first breakfast and second breakfast so flip over the menu for lots of yummy options. You order at the counter. Lots of people pop in just for a coffee as well so the line moves quick. They had some yummy looking pastries including a large scone "sandwich" with red Currant jam and clotted cream. They give you a number for your food order and bring it to you, but you pick up your coffee at the counter. There were a few large groups there so they had seating to accommodate. A few outdoor tables as well. Some people pop in for the fun whimsical & magical decor - LOTR nods. So plan to take a lot of pictures. We had the Rapscallaion wrap - so yummy and poutine -added egg & corned beef hash. Both yummy. Will be a fun place to bring guests who visit. You order at counter and food is brought to your table. The food was delicious and portions were generous. Atmosphere keeps the conversation and eyes going. Very clever and fun. Even the dishware was fun. Second trip we decided to try the high tea service. A menu of assorted teas and a prefixed food menu. My daughter made reservations and prepaid for our lunch ahead of time. We discussed price point and we believed it to be $48 a couple because who goes to tea alone? Turns out it was $41 per person. This is steep for lunch especially considering what it includes. Tea, a tower of treats; this works out to be 2- half sandwiches each (chicken and cucumber and whipped feta) a very small egg salad on 2-3 bite croissant, a scone with fixings and about 2-3 quarter sized macarons per person. This is very not nearly as generous as their daily menu portions. We had a reserved table and a waitress took our tea order from the table and delivered all items to the table except any napkins or utensils. We still needed to go get them from a centrally located area for diners. Our waitress was very sweet but obviously inexperienced and wasn't clear on how the high tea worked and it took about 40 minutes just to get the tea. Most disappointing was the bread. It was very dry and crumbly so sandwiches were falling or crumbling apart as we ate them. So as far as value is concerned, the high tea was not a good value in my opinion.
