We actually came into Freeport looking for a pharmacy to buy some band aids. Since we had not eaten anything since the early evening before, we thought some coffee and a light breakfast might do the trick. We found this place and went inside. It is unassuming. You order at the counter. We each had a scone and the special breakfast wrap. The scones were really good. Mine was still warm, which means it had recently come out of the oven. Walked up the street into the restaurant he was pleasantly surprised by such attentive staff. My husband ordered special breakfast sandwich, which was a pesto sandwich, and I ordered two scrambled eggs and bacon we of course, had to have a cinnamon roll as well. That and 2 cups of coffee and it was under $30. Coffee was great place was clean . Scrambled eggs or scrambled perfectly and my husband said a sandwich. It was delicious. Small, cozy, and a total hidden gem. This place runs on counter service, but the food that comes out is diner-level comfort with a little extra love. I ordered the Monte Cristo and it was exactly what I needed -- crispy, cheesy, and stacked with thick slices of ham and turkey. I enjoyed my lunch at Isabella's. On a beautiful Saturday at 1 it was quite empty, so no need to worry about seating. I ordered the turkey, apple, and cheddar sandwich on wheat bread and while it wasn't the best version of the sandwich I've had, it was still very tasty. We hit this spot on the way to LL Bean, dreaming of some blueberry pancakes. But as luck would have it, they 86'd the pancakes while we were ordering them. DOH! Total bummer. After a quick recon mission, we adjusted our game plan. For the table, I snagged a pecan sticky roll (because who says no to that?) and then went for the BLT breakfast sandwich on marble rye. And let me tell you, that sandwich gave me all the sustenance I needed for a long LL Bean shopping trip! Service was solid, and the prices? VERY reasonable. So we came here very excited and very hungry. And then left, very disappointed and very hungry. As I asked the woman at the register about locally sourced protein options the answer I got was a look of confusion and the answer of "no, everything comes from the food distributor US Foods." Came here for breakfast before exploring the shops! We were able to walk in around 9am with no reservation and get seated immoderately. The roasted turkey BLT was delicious. There were also some baked good items as well. Small interior so I imagine in a busier time period there may be long wait times. Very quaint and homey feeling. read more

We walked past this restaurant a couple of times and thought we'd give it a try for breakfast. We were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn just down the street. The food was good, not spectacular and pretty expensive, but we've realized that most of Maine makes their money off of tourist. We had a bartender tell us that "The locals pay the bills, but the tourists put the kids through college." We both had the Western Omelet. Again, good, but pretty bland. Some salsa would have been a great addition. Jelly for the toast was just your Smucker's that you get at any average restaurant. $50 for two for an average breakfast is pretty expensive. I don't think I would return here as the cost doesn't match the quality of the food. read more

My husband and I came across this place by chance and we are so glad we did. The food was good, the service was excellent. The older woman was delivering food, checking in on everyone and when she noticed I hadn't eaten much of my soup, asked if I didn't like it and offered a refund. In fact, the roasted squash and apple soup(it's a special) was very good. I was just too full to eat it and got a container to take it with me instead. We would come back again for sure. read more

Nestled under a bookstore on a corner in Freeport is an oasis of yummy food and down-home atmosphere. I had a fabulous everything bael with egg and bacon and it was just right! Chewy and cheesey with crisp bacon. Wayne had the stuffed burrito, something he craves on a fairy regular basis. Full of meat, cheese, eggs and flavor. Accompanied by home fries.
