We loved Kelly's Cafe! Our daughter is named Kelly and we were in Boothbay for the night so we had to try breakfast here. We met the owner, Kelly, and she and her staff were amazing. We initially were going to take a smaller table for the 5 of us, but a couple offered to move so we could push two together. Amazing and so unexpected but appreciated! We all loved our breakfasts - Happy Cakes for the kids included whipped cream, sprinkles and a piece of bacon; the croffle with blueberry compote was delicious; and the breakfast sandwich on wheatberry bread was great. The whole thing was topped off with a story from Kelly (she's also a published author!) and a treat for the kids from her treasure chest. My older two thought it was really sweet and my 8 yo was totally caught up in the story about mermaids and treasure. This was such a delightful stop, we recommend to anyone in the area! read more

Oh my, this place is lovely and bright! The individuals working here are welcoming, listen to you and serve with a smile. (I appreciate when you order two dishes and switch) we had biscuits and gravy scrambled egg and French toast with bacon. Best biscuits and gravy of my life!! Coffee is so rich and delicious!! It's an intimate location (up stairs be prepared) with off street parking, clean bathrooms available. The food is so delicious, flavorful and generous portions. Luckily they do to go orders so you could call ahead and have someone with you go up the stairs or maybe if you ask and can't climb stairs they could meet you at the base of the stairs. Wonderful new breakfast/lunch w/ an ocean view! Many low carb/gluten-free options. We enjoyed: 1. Smash burger on a gluten-free bagel (didn't have that substitute ingredients texture) 2. I will say this was my first visit to Kelly's the view is great, nice quiet place in downtown Boothbay harbor.. service was fantastic and the food was great but there's always a bit...lol I'm not a fan of the biscuits and gravy the biscuits weren't fluffy like I like and the the whole thing seemed to be on the sweet side for me and don't get me wrong I love my sweet stuff but not in my biscuit's and gravy.. don't get me wrong I will be back to try other things that looked fantastic that I saw served around me!! But definitely love having another alternative breakfast place in the harbor!! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Kelly's! The gf bagel was the best gluten free bread item I have EVER eaten! Kelly herself has sensitivities and understands all things Celiac. She says that she missed bagels, so she put all that she had into making it and other gf items tasty. Separate kitchen space, bakes gf on different days than other items, strict CC protocols all around. The cafe is quaint, the service is so friendly, and it is right on the water. Went in this AM for a quick bagel to go. $8.64 for a plain bagel with cream cheese. I thought that was wrong obviously, so I questioned it and was told it was "comparable to the area." Apparently the cream cheese was three dollars extra. The cream cheese was a tiny amount in a small container, barely enough for both sides and we had to put it on ourselves. This is not "comparable" to the area at all. You can get a cheeseburger and fries or a sandwich cheaper than that. Cute place but prices are outlandish and disrespectful to say the least. read more

We visited for breakfast, I had the biscuits and gravy, they were great, the gravy was light, with tremendous flavor, lots of sausage in the gravy, but not heavy/fatty taste, the biscuit was light and paired with the gravy, my wife had the quiche, and enjoyed it. Loved everything about this place. The staff was so incredibly nice and the food tasted like home. They were so good to my children and even offered them a treat from a treasure chest at the end of the meal. Most of us had their egg sandwich with cheese. The blueberry pancakes had a wonderful lemon zest. But if I'm being completely honest, they were the friendliest people in town. My boyfriend and I went to Kelly's Cafe in Boothbay Harbor for breakfast. It is such a pretty cafe, with amazing views of the harbor, and the people who work there could not be nicer!! My boyfriend had the Biscuits and Gravy, Fried Eggs with a side of Corned Beef Hash. He claimed it was all the best he's ever had. I had the Baileys French Toast, and let me tell you, it was amazing!!!! While eating we listened in on a story that Kelly (the owner) was telling the children at the table next to us. The kids were glued to their seats listening to her adventures at the beach, that ended with a treasurer chest filled with goodies. The smiles on the kids faces were priceless. We were sad to see that the former restaurant in this space (Bridge Street Café) was gone but decided to give the new owners a try. The space is still fresh and clean, comfortable 4 top tables and large windows with great water views. Kelly has decided to run her breakfast service in more of a take-out style. We ordered our breakfasts at the register and then sat at a table. We asked for water and were sold bottles, orange juice was also sold by the bottle. Orders for coffee were by size (sm, med., large) but there was a "fixins' bar" where guests could add cream and sugar. The food we ordered arrived quickly and was very good. However, we felt the portion sizes were a bit small for the price. Kelly is off to a good start and we wish her the best of luck with her new endeavor. read more

Was told about Kelly's Cafe from a woman who works at the hotel we were staying at. Was welcomed by Kelly herself as we walked through the door. Such a kind and cheerful woman. We sat at a table that overlooked the harbor.... What an amazing view ! I ordered the 3 egg omelet that was so light and fluffy with delicious veggies and cheese. My husband who is strictly Paleo ordered the breakfast salad that was such a beautiful plate. He also ordered a paleo bagel that was made by Kelly. She answered all the questions we had with his allergies and diet. So refreshing to go to a restaurant that caters to so many special dietary needs in addition to having traditional breakfasts. Very good tuna salad wrap and chicken salad wrap. We visited just before their Gand opening and were treated to EXCELLENT cookies that were a sugar/shortbread hybrid with a crisp frosting. I never leave reviews but I had to remember to leave a review for Kelly's Cafe. My family ( me, husband, two boys, 8 and 13) stopped for lunch while vacationing in Boothbay Harbor. It was our favorite place by far. The decor was perfect but the menu and kind service set this place apart. My youngest son, the picky eater, was so happy to have toast with cinnamon and sugar just like home! We loved that you could order items a la carts so kids could pick and choose what they wanted. My other son had his comfort food, PB&J, and we were wowed when the chef came out and asked how he likes his PB&J-heavy on the jelly or peanut butter? What service!really unexpected! My husband and I both had a BLT which was perfect with fresh lettuce and tomato and perfectly cooked bacon. I had the Grandma's Nubbies which I saved for our whale watching trip, they were delicious! We hoped to get back again for breakfast but unfortunately they were closed on our last day, but are grateful for their kindness to weary and hungry tourists! read more
