    Egg and sausage muffin

Really nice place! Good place for breakfast. Busy but pretty quick service. It's also attached to a bookstore. The egg and sausage muffin was unusual. The sausage was mixed into the egg.

The egg is cozy inside the croissant-like bun with cheese. Hmmm. Good.

Without Barn Door, we year-round residents would be out of luck. They bake, they barrista and they smile for real at all of us customers. The egg-bites are pure alchemy. A perfect combination of their very excellent croissant formula with a devinely cooked, jammy center egg, with cheese residing comfortably within and just the right warmth. Love those..

Egg, sausage, and cheddar on a biscuit. Yummy!!

Coffee shop attached to a wonderful bookstore. This is a must visit if you are in the area. Great selection of coffee, tea, baked goodies, and egg sandwiches. Can be crowded on busy weekends, but they move it along, pretty quickly. Never had trouble finding a place to seat. They also have outside seating!

Wow! what an unexpected gem of a place we stumbled upon while we were passing by this town and were in need of coffee. It is cute place open space. The cool part is that it's connected to Sherman's Bookstore which is filled with not only books, but stationary and a few children's toys as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had some cappuccino and it was good. They have a nice variety of pastries and cakes as well as sandwiches & toasts. The croissant was phenomenal, it was buttery, flaky, perfect size for sharing and honestly just melted in our mouths. I am salivating just thinking about it! Even the Breakfast biscuits were out of this world delicious! Cannot wait to go back!!! And the prices were reasonable too.

Scored this amazingly crafted Apple pie from the bakery. The filling was perfectly balanced sugar and spice and slightly tangy firm apply slices. The crust was delicious. Just look it it--gorgeous, right?

A very fine breakfast experience. We stopped in here based on the good Yelp reviews and I'm glad we did. The entrance was a little hard to find because the main part of the building is a bookstore and door to the bakery is tucked away on the right side. When we arrived, there was a significant line, but they managed it really well. There is a diversity of breakfast choices, including hot breakfast sandwiches; however, sweet bakery is their strong point. We tried the brioche cinnamon rolls, and the blueberry muffins. The blueberry muffins were especially good, they had numerous flavorful blueberries in them... Our breakfast sandwiches were OK. They made scrambled eggs and put a little pieces of sausage in it rather than a fried egg and a sausage patty. On the positive side, the English muffin part was delicious and locally made. The people operating the business were super nice --friendly and positive. It was the type of place do you want to give your business to.

I asked one of the staff a question about the history of the place and it turned out to be the owner (I'll leave her name out because i don't know if I should broadcast it). Honestly, what a sincere and lovely person. I told her this was our first time there and how great I thought it was and she just took us right into kitchen to see the operation. She showed us how everything was prepped, created and finished - right down to the cleaning station and the walk in freezers. I should make note that while my restaurant experience is a couple decades old, i have seldom seen a cleaner operation. Go look - you'll be amazed. You could literally eat off the floor back there. Consider that coupled with the fact that every person in that kitchen, EVERY ONE, came up and greeted her warmly with an inside joke, a hug or a sincere hello as we walked through. I hold a lot of faith in businesses that try and make family out of their crew - i have spent a lifetime of small (micro!) business ownership trying to encourage those vibes and they are not easy to come by and always earned, never forced. This business is owned by a decent human, staffed by decent humans, and makes great food prepared cleanly, freshly, and healthily. We went back 2 more times during our stay nearby and tried different things each time - each time did not disappoint. Pricing seemed fair, especially considering the variety of the menu and freshness of the food. There is a reason they have survived for the better part of 35 yrs (+/-). Soups are a hearty high point (especially for the price) and the English Muffin Loaf was a new one to me and a revelation - get one.

I walked in thinking I'd order something simple, but Jocelyn somehow anticipated exactly what I wanted before I even said it -- an oatmeal latte with honey infused right into the espresso. It was warm, silky, lightly sweet, and honestly one of the most thoughtful, dialed‑in drinks I've had anywhere. You can tell when someone really knows their craft, and she absolutely does. We also grabbed the curried chicken sandwich, which was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect balance of creamy and bright. It's the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid‑bite and go, "Wait... this is really good." The whole place has that cozy‑local‑favorite energy -- friendly staff, great food, and the kind of coffee that makes you want to reroute your trip just to come back again. If you're driving through Freeport, Camden, or anywhere along the coast, Wild Oats is 100% worth the detour.

The store is small, but there's a lot going on here! There were vegan meats and cheese and snacks and beverages for sale from brands I haven't heard of before (and that's a rarity for me now!), as well as a unique variety of things from brands I know very, very well (but had no idea they made _______ [fill in the blank]). For sure, BRING A COOLER. There's going to be so many things you want to bring home and try! The café itself offers a curated selection of baked goods, sandwiches, and open-faced toasts. I found the many baked goods we tried a bit dry for my personal liking; also, I'd recommend any of the sandwiches over any of the toasts (while I haven't tried them, they look more much more substantial in both size and portion of fillings/ingredients for what you're paying). The toasts are very, very small. The toppings, while flavorful and fresh, are also very, very minimal. Aesthetically speaking, they're absolutely Instagram-worthy! But for one thin slice per order, it's currently $9 to $16 (depending on which one you get); after a long wait for them to come out, we were just taken aback at how little food there actually was. Eating outside on their quiet, intimate patio overlooking the water in such beautiful minimalist-chic decor is an absolute vibe. I could see someone having an elevated rehearsal dinner or a sophisticated birthday here.
