    dock across the street!

Dan & Silvia have the cutest shop! We have gone here every morning during our trip to Boothbay & definitely recommend if you're wanting some good coffee & yummy breakfast! Silvia is so talented, she makes all the signs, food, and drinks! We got the berry oats, veggie breakfast sandwhich, and coffee! We spun the wheel, such a cute touch! Heidi ordered drip coffee both days & I ordered oat milk lattes. We enjoyed it on the dock across the street :) Go to Red Cup if you're in the area, we loved it! - Heidi & Maddie

A beloved local place and must visit for any tourist, this is a walk up place for coffee and simple breakfast items. It was OK the coffee was fine but the breakfast sandwich was actually rather basic. Per person for a sandwich, beverage, and tip was $25. There's no seating but ample outdoor public seating, which is fine in good weather.

Breakfast bagel: eggs, cheese, sausage, and choice of bagel. I go for cinnamon raisin to get the savory/sweet!

My favorite breakfast sandwich in BBH: eggs, cheese, sausage, and a cinnamon raisin bagel. Delicious and hot every time. Good coffee. PRO TIP: order online at their website. Sometimes the order line gets really long. I put my order in and it's ready by the time I walk down there.

Whenever I'm in the area, it's a must that I stop and enjoy the most charming spot in Boothbay Harbor, Maine: the Red Cup Coffeehouse. Today we order and split the Blueberry Cinnamon Bun and the Iced Salted Carmelita which were both super delicious and super fresh. A true taste of Maine at its finest. I appreciate their mission statement that their coffee is "Produced sustainably with regard to environmental impact, without the use of non-organic fertilizers and pesticides". Not only were the food beverages tasty, but they were served with so much pride and joy, that it was a pleasure to visit again - as briefly as it was. I especially love the outdoor window for quick service. Also - I give props to owner Paul Johnson for going along with my James the Great joke... Looks & taste like a microwaved egg gross!

Ughhh $10 for microwaved egg sandwich?! There are around 5 egg sandwich options so I would avoid. They were nice so they get a star but won't be back. Get something else if you come here.

The best freshest almond or chocolate croissants you'll ever have!!! Great coffee too!!! They also serve breakfast sandwiches, chowder and soups. It's a order and pickup at the window . No seating...

We came here on a Saturday mid-morning and the place was BUSY. Despite the long queue winding through and around the full tables, the staff remained friendly and efficient through each transaction. When it was our turn, we didn't feel hurried at all! Grabbed a large cold brew, a croissant filled with nutella, and an almond croissant filled with marzipan. The coffee was great -- I wish there had been a pitcher of alternative milk available on the DIY area (with the lids, stirrers, and stuff), but there was only whole and 1/2 and 1/2. It seems soy or almond is a $1.00 upcharge (a bummer when you just want a splash for your iced coffee). I also wish that the area with baked goods had been labeled - I would have loved to have known what was what, and if anything was gf or vegan. Finally, it's such a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere but that leads to A LOT of big groups and strollers taking up floor space. Part of the confusion with the line was genuinely no one knew where it started or how to get to it because of the obstacle course the room had become. Overall, I did like this place though! I found it charming and was impressed with how the staff handled the never ending line of people. I'd probably come much earlier next time (also, skip the almond croissant and go directly for the nutella filled one -- #yourewelcome)!

My coffee was fine but it cost over $10. The service was good but I don't think that it was worth the price.

Let's start at the beginning- Just because the roll-down…read moredoor is closed doesn't mean the bagel shop is closed. That was my first error as I went by this place a handful of times. It's wasn't until I saw someone emerge from the double doors to the left of the roll-down that I realized that the business was open. Not that they need any help getting people inside (it was HOPPING) but a sandwich board outside perhaps would show that the business is open inside? I went in and immediately everyone was friendly and chipper. Ordering was simple enough but be prepared, they sell through some things, understandably as this place is very popular. I got an espresso and a toasted herb bagel with plain cream cheese. Ive been all over Bath, Brunswick, Rockland, and Camden and was convinced that the New Englander's palates were shot. Not a single business has served me a decent espresso. Not a single one until I stopped at Dutchman's. FINALLY a bright, clean shot that doesn't taste like someone put a cigar out in it. Everyone needs to take notes. THEN we get to the bagel....didn't think I was about to have the best bagel of my life, yet here I am. Light, toasted, slightly chewy but not heavy... jeez. Can we talk about the space? It's gorgeous. Airy, cool, industrial...but the people running it make it feel homey. We can talk about the restaurant they're putting in next door too but let's be realistic, if they use any of the blueprint they're currently operating off of, they're not going to have any issues (Omg the pizza oven!) The view alone will stop you in your tracks. I'm all in on Dutchman's. I bought the merch. I have a tee shirt and a beanie and the only reason I don't have a hoodie is because they were sold out in my size. What else is there to say... 10/10 No notes.

As soon as I walked up I was bummed to see they had no egg or cheese, which is what I was planning to order. Instead, I went with the Turkey Lurkey. It's not something I'd typically order but it was delicious. It was a bit messy so eating it in the car was a mistake lol. I also got a cold brew coffee. My order was $17 for those two things, which is expensive, but the quality of the food and coffee was very good and I'd much rather give my money to this business than a large corporation like Starbucks. I saw another review give 3 stars because they are comparing their bagels to NY/NJ style bagels. I'm originally from NJ, and yes I prefer those style bagels, but that is NOT what Dutchman's is going for. These are Wood-Fired bagels, and yes they do have a more bread like texture but I thought they were delicious and made for perfect sandwich bagels. I went on a Thursday morning and there was no line so service was quick. I was in and out in about 10 mins.

Luckily, there were only about five people ahead of us, and the line moved quickly. The person taking our order immediately made us feel welcome. Even with a busy morning crowd, they took their time with everyone and treated each customer like they were the only one there. That kind of genuine friendliness is something you don't forget. The atmosphere is unlike any coffee shop I've been to. Every wall has something different to look at, quirky artwork, funny signs, vintage pieces, random collectibles, a mannequin dressed in sunglasses and boots, even a life-size Tom Cruise hanging out on the patio. I found myself constantly looking around because there was something interesting in every direction. One of my favorite touches was the self-serve coffee station. You grab a mug from the wall instead of a paper cup. I picked one with a cool Abraham Lincoln wearing a backwards baseball cap while sipping coffee, which perfectly matched the café's fun personality. There were several coffee choices, and I ended up trying two. Refills are available for a small fee. For breakfast, I ordered one of their brioche breakfast sandwiches with the meat of the day, which was brisket. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the soft brioche bun. I also ordered a toasted jalapeño bagel with jalapeño shmear. It comes sprinkled with Tajín but got mine on the side. While I usually enjoy Tajín, it was just a little much for me first thing in the morning, so next time I'd ask for it without. The jalapeño shmear itself was delicious. After eating, we took our coffee outside to enjoy the patio. The colorful mural covering the building, beautiful flower pots, and relaxed seating made it a great place to sit and slow down for a while. Dog Bar Jim isn't just a place to grab breakfast, it's one of those places with real personality. Great food, excellent coffee, genuinely kind service, and an atmosphere that's fun, creative, and impossible to forget. If you're anywhere near Brunswick, it's absolutely worth the stop.
