Is the retail store and " restaurant" separate ? Where do I go first? Once we got to the deli case, and got through being overwhelmed, we were able to order.. still be warned as a newbie, it is a daunting experience!!!Brides the yummy sandwiches ( honestly I was hoping for a more rustic bread than what was offered ) and salads there is an incredible selection of baked goods. My partner chose the classic brownie ( incredibly dark and rich) and I the double chocolate cupcake filled with mocha mouse( which I saved for home) the icing and mouse filling were amaaaazing but the cake itself seemed quite gritty, as though it was a " alternative," flour. In the end I was a tad disappointed in my $6.00 cupcake. All in all a decent experience and I'd probably go again, but $46 for Sammie's and dessert is a bit steep for my pocketbook.

After my visit I am just wondering what this is all about. Maybe just the drinks honestly. I don't know really and after my experience I am not sure I even want to go back. I stopped here to get some bagels to have for breakfast the next day. The bagels are not homemade, they are from NY which is not a problem. I was perfectly fine with that. The cream cheeses are on the homemade side. They tasted great honestly the ones we had. Where things went south for us is the male at the register taking my order. He basically told me I would be better off going to the Hannaford grocery in town for bagels and cream cheese, as I was placing my order. That kind of rubbed me the wrong way. As I am trying to give business to the locals. To imply for me go elsewhere was odd. When I was there there was not a long line or anything. So it was not like I was holding anyone up. I felt like maybe they did not want to scoop the cream cheeses into a cup. I do not know. But, it just left a bad feeling all together. From that point on I did not order any drinks or other food. I was just honestly done.

Famous last words. The pastry case whispered sweet nothings to us and we simply could not leave empty-handed. The pastries? Delicious -- flaky, flavorful, and clearly made with love (and butter, lots of butter). The latte hit the spot, though it could have used just a little more kick -- let's just say it leaned more "gentle good morning" than "wake-up-we're-driving-800-miles-today." Service was very friendly, the shop itself is charming and quaint, and honestly, if you're passing by, go ahead and surrender to the pastry case. Resistance is futile and your taste buds will thank you.

My favorite sandwich is their "Autumn Chicken Salad" (they sell it all year) I like to call it my fruit cake chicken salad! It's VERY unique.
