It was heavenly. We went inside and were in Heaven. There was so much bread and other baked goods! We got a phenomenal loaf of multigrain. A blueberry muffin was insanely delicious. It was hearty, like it contained oats. A seven layer bar was not sickeningly sweet and put me in a great mood. The employee who served us was kind and courteous. It was a great experience.

We got an egg and cheese (they'd already run out of bacon and we got there late), a slice of frittata, and a biscuit. Also got a bagel but we are saving it for tomorrow. The frittata is absolutely delicious (it was spinach, sun-dried tomato's, mozzarella, and sweet potato) and had such a wonderfully surprising kick of heat from the lightly sprinkled red chili flakes and sea salt. The egg and cheese was also so delicious! Looking forward to returning and trying their sweet pastries and beverages!

David Atwater's The Bakery is a welcome arrival. Offering a variety of scratch muffins, pastries, breads, cakes and pies, our favorites are the fresh blueberry muffins (and blueberry muffin "holes"!) and the Anadama bread. Located just off Main street in the Municipal Parking lot, The Bakery opens at 7am and has a few small tables if you don't have to rush home to feed a crowd. Quite cheerful service from David, Betty and Grace.

We custom ordered a pumpkin ginger loaf with hazelnuts and looked forward to enjoying it. We picked it up on Thursday and ate a slice on Friday. Besides the loaf being badly overcooked and burnt, this caused us some stomach insertion and discomfort. Not sure why but they are so kind so this is not my first choice. Nevertheless this should not have been sold to us if they care about all customers, locals and tourist alike, like we were. I decided to have a second slice this morning to see if Friday's stomach discomfort was a fluke but again the same thing happened. We just tossed the loaf into the garbage can. No hate just love but apparently the $10.99 ($8.99 plus $2.00 tip) means more to them than their reputation. Sorry but you left us no choice. Good luck and wish you well!

Today bought a blueberry muffin, a maple cinnamon roll and the special of the day, which I don't know the name of, but it was a biscuit with clotted cream and homemade raspberry jam made out of the owners garden. It was scrumptious. It is also a little store and you can buy all kinds of cute things in there, there is an area to eat both inside and outside, but I am only talking of three or four tables in each location. They also make coffee drinks and they also have croissants with eggs and bacon. Have not had one of those in years so I can't really comment on that. Anyway, well worth a little side trip to this darling bakery.
