Overall, the service is very good - they will call your name out when the coffee is ready. The pastries looked amazing - but we stopped by just for coffee. Overall, this bakery is a fantastic place to stop if you're looking for coffee. In addition, the town of Bath is charming and highly walkable. You'll see a nice mix of locals, retirees, and visitors walking through town. If you plan to visit Maine Maritime Museum in the morning, it's worth your time to visit "downtown" Bath for lunch or coffee. read more

This place is so cute! I love the vibe in here. I only ordered an iced americano (to-go). While it was delicious, I thought it was an odd choice to give no lid on a to-go order. I had to chug some of it so it didn't spill while I was driving. Other than that, my experience was pleasant and I would definitely come back to try some other items! read more

Absolutely adorable little pastry/bread shop in the most unexpected place...Bath is small as it is but this little shop would be welcomed in the biggest of cities and would easily compete with the best to do it. I just wanted to try everything because not only was it presented beautifully, it was baked with love and that is very evident. Start your day with any variety of bread, lunch is covered there as well, and make sure you make it by 7pm for a delicious gelato for desert. Why the 4-star after all this gushing? Right next door (connected on the inside) is a seating area for eating in, where they also serve gelato and coffees. This place is a gem. I wish it was a little closer to my home, but now that I know about it, I will stop in every time I go to or through Bath. We tried several items, ate some there, and brought some home. We tried the pizza, a veggie frittata, and 3 Cornetti which is an Italian version of croissants, slight denser, just as flakey, just a buttery, maybe even more delicious. We tried the almond, the raspberry and the chocolate...all were incredible. They also have a nice selection of bottled Italian soft drinks. I tried the rose water. Wow! The pastries here are indeed divine. We had a cinammon roll, chocolate eclaire and a cannoli. The eclaire was surprisingly our least favorite and the cinnamon roll was a clear winner. Coffee is good too,though I don't like dark roast for my espresso - and this is what they serve,so something to have in mind and perhaps order a macchiato instead ;) service is very quick as you have different ppl to pick the pastries,make coffee and pay for it all. There's few tables outside but it's right on the street so not the best if you want to eat your treats enjoying the quiet and fresh air...however we had no choice travelling with a pup. What a beautiful and intimate little bakery! Parking was a breeze with plenty of street parking as well as lots nearby. The Sponge cake was in fact spongy filled with a soft custard. The dipiomatico was essentially a cake version of baklava which was great! Both the plum jam croissant and chocolate croissant were buttery and flaky. The chocolate was my preferred of the two. The breads are baked fresh in which we tried their milk bread and semolina bread. I loved the texture and taste of all their items. Staff were more than happy to help with smile on their faces. Great coffee, friendly staff, and quite literally the BEST CHOCOLATE CROISSANT I have eaten in my entire life, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD (and I've had them everywhere). From the moment we walked inside, we were taken aback by the smell of fresh bread and the dozens of picture-perfect pastries. My partner had a savory snack, and I had a yummy pastry filled with hazelnut butter that was just incredible. We were both impressed by the quality, presentation, and taste. At $5-7 on average for a pastry, they aren't necessarily the cheapest, but they are worth it. Add a coffee from their dedicated coffee bar, and you'll get an authentic Italian breakfast for around $10. I also heard they do aperitifs... I so wish I lived closer! A couple of weeks ago, there was a kids fair on the street in front of the business, and they were selling, at best, meh cold pizza for $9 a slice. Today I went in to see that renovations had been done and gelato had been added. I waited 15 minutes, timed it to be sure, had several workers walk by, and said nothing. An Italian bakery with the absolute best pastries and bread in Bath. They have lots of different cornetti (flaky, buttery pastries similar to croissants), slab-style pizza, a variety of breads, and delicious little tarts called cestini in several flavors. The coffee drinks are strong and delicious, the service is friendly. You can tell whoever runs this place has a true passion and gift for flavors and food. Solo Pane is a bit more expensive than the other options in town, but the quality matches the price. My one suggestion is that I'd like to see more scones and muffins. I know those aren't specifically Italian, but that's often what I'm craving when I'm hungry for a baked good. They usually have one scone flavor, but by the time I get there they are sold out. I would also like to see a couple of more wholesome options offered like perhaps a homemade granola bar or a whole grain morning glory muffin. The seating is very tight and not comfortable for staying awhile because it's a small space, so if you're meeting a friend there, I'd recommend taking your food to the waterfront if it's warm out, where there are plenty of benches. read more
