For those who aren't paying attention or maybe don't know me, coffee is an integral part of my life and travels. Whenever I visit somewhere new I make sure to visit at least one small coffee shop. I passionately support small businesses as much as I can! My friend and I had driven up to a local confectionery and I was dragging afterwards. So we found this adorable little place and I had one of the best coffees of my life! The only reason that I am giving it four stars instead of five is that they don't do blended coffee. I also think they need to hire a couple more people as the wait was a bit much. That being said it was entirely worth it because as I stated my vanilla pistachio latte was one of the best coffees I have had in 20 some odd years of coffee drinking. I also loved the decor and cute little elements that really make you feel at home! They had plenty of seating especially for being a smaller establishment Overall, Cute, locally owned and very friendly staff! Delicious coffee! Stopped here while walking around Freeport and was impressed. The inside is cute and cozy if you want to stay and have a treat with your coffee. They also have a little outside. The service was great. They have smoothies and coffee, lattes and some little pastries. A little pricey but well worth it cause you can tell everything is homemade and high quality. Soooo cute!!!!! Sooooo cozy!!! I don't usually like small coffee shops but there's something different here. There's a warmth and a sweetness to it. The atmosphere and the people make this place special. They sell delicious locally made products. Some they make and some the source from bakers such as Spun Baking. They have many beverage options! The staff is so patient and friendly even while customers stand there while unable to make a decision. Parking is best behind the building. If it's peak tourist season it will be busy...and you won't see me here lol read more

Stepping in from the cold, we were warmly greeted by the owner who is one of the most lovely people we've ever met. Our barista prepared the most delicious coffee and hot chocolate, we couldn't get over the homemade whipped cream which was INCREDIBLE. She also delivered it right to where we were sitting, and this is the type of place that encourages you to settle in with a good book and feel right at home. Visiting from Florida, this warm and welcoming space was an oasis on our cold night. An additional bonus is that Sip House featured local artists and products, so we were able to Christmas shop! It turned out our barista also makes beautiful clay earrings, we can't wait to visit again next time we are in Maine. read more

Adorable, great coffee, lovely baked goods!, and they have lots of cute gifts for sale. Nice respite in middle of Freeport!

It's a lovely place to sit and have a coffee or tea, it is not the best place to work if you need to take calls (but heads-down work is great). I would give this place 5 stars because it is clear that they are trying very hard, but they just miss the boat on having good coffee and espresso-based drinks. Their espresso machine is not rated for commercial use and does not employ a standard sized portafilter. This means that their extraction process is inconsistent and not fit for the volume they need to produce. It also means that the espresso-based drinks are too weak since they do not produce enough of a pull during extraction, so you get warm coffee milk. Additionally, the "barista" do not know how to pull a shot properly, and on top of that over froth the milk for all beverage types. I just counted the last milk frothing lasted 90 seconds for a 16 ounce cappuccino: no aeration, overly hot milk and no appreciable foam. The extraction time is too long which means they have not dialed in their grind yet. The roast they are using also is incorrect; they have chosen a dark blend which is not traditionally what espresso roasts are, they are dry (free of oils) and medium to light. My recommendation to the owner is PLEASE buy a proper espresso machine for your coffeeshop, please get trained on how to pull a shot and froth milks and you will have a gem on your hands. Until then, I am saddened to give it two stars, especially because I really like it here, but for a place that has two full boards with mostly espresso drinks I cannot recommend. Additionally, as much as I appreciate your "buy local" coffee for drip, it's rather terrible coffee. I have found that Speckled Axe and Time and Tide to be much better coffees to brew, even CBD is better than this. I have SO MUCH FAITH in this establishment. I love coming here. I want them to succeed. Please don't read into the negative comments as a "hit piece" but a place to grow from. read more

This local shop was everything my family and I needed! I got an iced latte while my mom got a smoothie. Both were excellent. The service was fast and the workers were friendly. It had an amazing feel, located in the little downtown of Freeport. The sip house has an excellent variety of very rich and flavorful beverages and a bite to eat! read more

They judged opened 3 months ago! Go show your support to local businesses. The gentleman who greeted us was so friendly. The cafe was full of unique tea accessories and tea brands. My favorite is Forte Tea which is super hard to find! Stop by here before you go shopping and get your hot cup of tea/coffee! We pass by Freeport to visit some friends, and after a long drive we were in need of some coffee. We found this ZesTea and we couldn't believe! The best baklava on the United States is sold in a little cozy coffee shop in Maine. Delicious coffee, and even better pastries. They offer a great selection of coffee, tea, and have a beautiful and very unique selection of handmade souvenirs. This will be my first stop next time I'm in Freeport! The coffee cake was yummy. The matcha was not great because the powder was not fully dissolved so I would randomly get chunks of bitter matcha powder when I drank it. And the coffee flight... not good. Really not good. The idea is great but the coffee was hard to get down. And you felt like you had to drink it because there were four of them, but I wanted it to be over after the first sip of each. Nice spot. Needs a coffee improvement. read more

So we stopped here for lunch on our trip to Freeport. The Turkish coffee I had was delicious . The salad my husband has was vegetarian, delicious and fresh. Stopped here twice on the way in and out of our trip to Acadia and these were the best coffees of our trip. We got the cinnamon maple iced lattes and I think I'm now addicted to maple syrup in my coffee! The second trip we got a blueberry lemon scone and the strawberry rhubarb cookie. The cookie was amazing, scone a little dry but it probably would have been better warmed up. There's some local goods to buy inside and very quaint coffee shop seating. Had the Mediterranean Bowl for lunch and an iced caramel macchiato for desert. Both were excellent - exactly what I was needing for a nutritious, quick meal. Fantastic find toward the end of downtown Brunswick! They have tons of Turkish products including food, coffee and jewelry. There was a lot to choose from for sure. We ended up getting an iced black Turkish tea (so flavorful and surprisingly strong), one of their bowls of the day which had some great flavor combinations including grains and grape leaves and was oh so filling and a handmade pottery pendant. Prices were more than affordable - I was shocked the pendant was only $10 and service was fast and friendly. Definitely returning next time we're passing through town! read more

Cute and cozy little place. Awesome cakes and other food. Elif one of the owner makes all from scratch, they taste so good, the cakes never overly sweet just right. Also they have authentic Turkish deserts, so delicious. She always add newer items. Worth checking in all the time. I bake pretty frequently, just for fun, and I love to mess around with recipes to try to improve the flavor of what I bake. So when I say that I had the best cake of my life here, that means I ate a slice of cake so divine that the highest compliment I can give it is that I WOULD CHANGE NOTHING ABOUT IT. The cake was the homemade blueberry lemon cake. It was perfect. Not too sweet, but also not flavorless as a lot of less sweet cakes can be. Just enough lemon and blueberry. The cake also was gluten-free but tasted and looked exactly like a well-made full-of-gluten cake, without the dense sinking that gf baked goods often suffer from. I am not too embarrassed to say that I ate the whole thing even though I wasn't even hungry, and when I walked past Zestea a few hours later, I seriously thought about buying another slice to bring home. (I didn't, only because I knew that there was no saving the cake for another day and I would end up eating the second slice on the way home.) We also got the homemade baklava. I am not a baklava fan in general, so I didn't try this, but my partner said it was delicious and ate all of it even though he meant to bring half of it home for his daughter (hey, what she doesn't know about, she can't miss, right?). We tried a Turkish apple tea and an iced Turkish coffee. These were also good but the cake was the clear winner for me and it's all I can think about, a few days later. Go get a drink here but also get the blueberry lemon cake and eat it slowly and enjoy it. Lately I haven't felt like anything I've eaten has made much of an impression on me - probably a result of general tiredness, less sunlight with winter coming on, overall pandemic exhaustion - but this cake woke up my taste buds and made me feel good again. read more

The prices are competitive with CBD and Starbucks. Why not, pass on the big box places and show some support for a local business that is doing things right. This is a great new addition to the area. I went in and purchased a few items for my neighbors, my husband and myself and everything was excellent. We tried a gluten free chocolate almond cake (which may have been the best GF baked good I've ever had), a small Bundt cake and a couple of frozen mosaic slices. Honestly, the mosaic slices are reason enough to check this place out - they were different than anything else you can find in the area and just an amazing treat or dessert. Our neighbors liked their items so much they drove to Freeport themselves the next day to try the coffee (which they said was great too). Also, the man at the register was super nice. My husband and I were debating whether or not to buy the neighbor's dog some homemade dog treats and he threw in a packet for free (and yes, the dog enjoyed his treats as well!). Super cute store! Both the lattes and the pastries are very yummy -- we got Turkish coffee, earl grey tea (love the Tea Forte products), and a feta bun. ZesTea is the best cafe I've ever visited - hands down. Elif and Arda (the owners) are such kind, caring, and thoughtful owners. The store is beautifully curated, the pastries and foods are DELICIOUS (try the cheese borek, or the apple tart), the coffee is warm and strong, and the community that they have built with surrounding businesses and residents is inspiring. I could probably sit here for hours (they play great music) and feel content. I happened upon ZesTea while camping at Wolfe's Neck, and I'm so glad this happened. Will be camping in Maine and definitely making sure I stop by this lovely spot again :) read more
