I mean it looked fine, like a unique independent coffee place but I'm so glad I came here today, visiting Portland from our home a half hour away. It's a very BIG comfortable space, converted house with multiple rooms and really generous layout. Lots of people, but room for everyone with varied seating spaces, great for social hang, solitary chillin or getting down to work on laptop or what not. Great vibe, nice looking drinks menu, a few baked/pastry options in case, friendly counter people. I got a very solid iced coffee. Highly recommend!

I had forgotten to write a review after that experience so we needed to revisit eventually. Today was that day as we were in the area. Location wise I would say it is perfect tucked away not in the hustle and bustle of downtown. They have a small parking lot as well as plenty street parking. We went inside and I got their Cozy Latte which was cinnamon and cardamom latte while my wife got their Flower Power which is lavender and honey. Both were quite tasty and well made. Besides their seasonal drinks they appeared to have all the typically drinks you'd expect. To go along with our drinks I grabbed a chocolate croissant and my wife got a piece of their rosemary kale & pepper quiche. Both of these were tasty bites but do wish they would have been warmed up. Not sure if this would have been an option as they did not ask if we wanted them warm. Only real knock against the food was that. Good variety overall of food options. They are huge supporters of local creators and had a handful inside with jewelry and pottery available for sale. Great to see local supporting local! Overall we enjoy Coveside, although I do believe some other spots more based on coffee drinks. It is definitely a cozy and inviting space worth your time to visit. Showing up a little later in the day their pastries were low so show up early for the best selection. They have inside seating as well as a nice little outside seating section too. We did only get drinks so look at other reviews for info on the food. My wife got an Iced Mocha and I got an Iced Vanilla Latte. I do think they could take names to improve the drink pick up so you know it's your drink like many other places do. Overall the drinks were good but with all of the coffee options in the greater Portland area it would not be top choice.

The staff was really helpful when we had questions about the menu, which we appreciated. We got a latte and a cold brew and split a delicious breakfast sandwich. Seeing their seasonal (Valentines) specials on social media really sold us on coming in. It was not that busy when we came in and took no time at all to order and receive our drinks. The baristas were friendly and the spot is definitely a welcoming to everyone space. It seemed like a good spot for those interested to spend time on the computer doing some work or those wanting to watch the world walk by out the windows. The overall vibes were nice enough and I don't have anything overly negative about it but enjoy some other local spots more. It is a thin long space which maybe contributed to that feeling. Also secondly I think it leans a little more towards generic coffee shop. Drink wise my wife and I typically are iced coffee drinkers no matter the weather but with the walking around in the cold made us want that hot coffee to warm us up. I went with their Salted Banana Foster while my wife got the Cherry Cobbler Au Lait. Both were solid drinks to give us that warming feeling inside and delivered good flavor without being too overpowering. Arabica will be a coffee shop I will consider revisiting in Portland it just may not be my first choice.

A few years back, I was in the area visiting another business and recognized Tandem's bicycle logo and immediately became intrigued. I soon discovered that they had a second location here, and told myself if I was ever in the area again I would step in. During this most recent Maine trip, I was making a few last minute stops before heading home, and thought this was as great opportunity to check little Tandem out and get some plural peps. Right from the jump, I noticed the vibe at Tandem Roasters was different. The big Tandem on Congress is large, usually always has a line, and has a large selection of food in addition to the coffee. This Tandem is smaller and more chill - the main floor has some seating around the perimeter, with a smaller room off to the side with more seating. In addition to their merch, they have a decent selection of vinyls to browse. The vibe is overall more chill here - I had time to browse and soak in the aesthetics, whereas you're kinda shuffled down the line at the larger Tandem due to the crowds. The menu is mostly coffee and related beverages; they have a small selection of bakes but it's not nearly as large as their other location. I had already had breakfast, so I decided just to go with a cappuccino. The beverage was good - everything you want out of a cappuccino. Service was also good, I was taken care of promptly and my beverage was ready relatively quickly. Overall, I'm glad I finally got to check this Tandem out. It's a little off the beaten path of the main commercial hub of Portland, however there are a few businesses in the area so it's worth checking out if you're in the area.

That said, Y%F Coffee might be my new favorite coffee spot in town. The space is so good. Floor to ceiling windows that are perfect for people watching, visually stunning throughout, and everything you'd need to get some work done: plenty of outlets, USB ports, fast WiFi, and comfy chairs. My drip coffee was great too, and the people working there were so nice. Oh, and the hours! They open late which is a big plus in this area. I spent half a day sitting by the windows getting work done and didn't want to leave. I was a little hesitant given some of the earlier reviews; it looked like they were still figuring things out when they first opened. But a few months in, the place feels calm and settled. It was almost empty on a recent Monday and everything seemed to be running smoothly.
