The inside was super cool and nice! The server was also quick and helpful. My only complaint is that it is pretty expensive! The coffee was good but I don't know if it was worth the price point :/

Shaghf Cafe brings specialty coffee and crave-worthy desserts all the way from the UAE. It has quickly become one of my favorite new spots especially for a late night sweet tooth (they're open until 12 am). The space has a calm, minimal atmosphere with plenty of seating, perfect for enjoying a treat, reading a book, or getting some work done. I can't stop thinking about their pistachio Nutella strawberry cup; the mix of gooey Nutella, fresh strawberries, and the perfect crunch in every bite is unforgettable. The staff and owners are incredibly kind and make every guest feel welcome. Whether you're stopping in for coffee or dessert, this spot is a must-visit.

A new addition to the Portland cafe scene, currently the newest as far as I know. As of writing this review the name is incorrect as Shaghf Coffee while it is actually named Shaghf Cafe. It is part of an international chain originated in the United Arab Emirates with this particular location being I believe their 12th location in the USA. Their space is quite large with friendly staff who greeted us and also brought our drinks to our table when done. The space is beautiful with just the right amount of decor/plants and neon lights to make the space pop. Comfortable seating while to enjoy your beverage and/or food. I asked what the staff suggested for the best cold drink and they suggested the Pistachio Latte while my wife got the Corn Flake Latte. I think both were very solid and unique. I look forward to returning to try more drinks as they offer a lot of drinks you won't find elsewhere nearby. Also need to return to give their delicious desserts in the display case a try! They had sooooooo many things that looked delicious! Looking for a new and different cafe in the Portland area then check this spot out!

Absolutely amazing. Very unique to Portland and no place like it around. Menu option are all so good I had no idea what to get. Everything we got was delicious and I'll need to go back to try so much more. Very friendly staff and very aesthetic vibe inside. We will be back

Shaghf Cafe is a really unique addition to Portland and feels very different from most coffee shops around here. It comes straight from Dubai, and that influence is obvious in both the menu and the overall vibe. This is a great spot for a lot of different moments. Morning coffee, an afternoon pick-me-up, getting a little work done, an after-dinner treat, or even a late-night hang with sober friends sipping tea or coffee. They're usually open around 8-10 most days and stay open until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays, but definitely double-check Google for current hours. The space itself is beautiful. I wouldn't call it cozy, it's more high-end and sleek, almost like a really well-lit lounge or nightclub, just without loud music or chaos. The lighting and decor are very intentional and make it a fun place to sit and hang out. They have some really eye-catching desserts and treats. I tried the strawberry Dubai chocolate cup and it was excellent. Honestly the second best one I've had, with Nuts Factory in Boston still holding my number one spot. Also, if you're looking for those viral fruit-shaped ice creams, this is a good place to check out. Service was a little slow when I went. There were two young men working and it seemed like one of them was still learning the equipment and drink-making process. That said, they were both very polite and kind, and I'm happy to give grace when people are learning. I definitely need to go back for a crepe and a latte. Overall, a really cool, stylish spot and one I'm glad Portland has.

Cute new coffee shop in Portland. Def unique coffee flavors and come in cute little cups. The sweets looked great as well even though I didn't get any. The inside has lots of seating. Not your average coffee shop.

Very friendly staff that gave us some great recommendations. We had the biscoff and Nutella crepes with strawberries, it was truly decadent. We also bought 4 of the lifelike fruit cakes. I've seen them all over TikTok and hadn't seen them anywhere locally. They were hard on the outside and mousse like on the inside. Amazing flavor. Atmosphere was modern and clean.

Service is great. Spanish hot coffee reminds me of my Moms coffee, it's perfect. Strong and not too sweet. The ambiance is nice, it is set up Like a lounge.

    Bad strawberry matcha

Have heard only good things about this place so decided to give it a try. I got their strawberry matcha which unfortunately was totally undrinkable. Attached photos are what I expected it to look like from their advertising vs what was received. It was still visually nice, however the strawberry flavoring was very fake and the matcha was gritty and bitter. No matter how much I mixed it, still very bad tasting. My friend also tasted it and did not enjoy it so we unfortunately threw it away. The shop was very cute and had many customers so I'm assuming the rest of their drinks are good, but I would not recommend the matcha.

loved it! the interior of this place is stunning, and the menu is gorgeous as well. the strawberry matcha, the frozen coffees, and the pistachio cheesecake are all notable favorites of mine. it's expensive, though not exponentially moreso than any other place in portland in 2025. service is prompt and not super chatty, it's a quiet place to do work definitely (other than the really odd hours but if you're a morning person good on you). street parking is pretty available and it's next to back cove bookstore which is a fun stop as well.

Do not come here expecting to sit at a cafe and eat indoors. There are only a few outdoor tables. This is more of a take out spot. There was a preorder area which had no line seemed like a good option if you want to just drive up and grab your goods without waiting in a long line. The drinks (iced tea/cold brew/hot coffee/tea) are premade and I would say are above average. The pastries we had were unbelievable! Flakey, buttery croissants with simple but punchy flavors. After having some of the bread prior to our meals at a few restaurants, we found out the bread is locally sourced at a sister business right around the corner from where ate the night before. There is parking avail for customers in the lot for 30 mins, we prob waited about 20 mins and crossed the threshold into baked goods heaven. There was so much to select from - we got pastries, cookies, pizza and bread - and we pretty much liked everything. Our least favorite was the morning bun with walnuts - we didn't have it right away so that might've been part of the issue. Just note that the bread served at the restaurants aren't available until 2pm - we were leaving that morning so we weren't going wait for it. We opted for other loaves instead and they didn't disappoint. If you want something yummy and fresh - make sure to stop by here before heading out of Portland. I do wish the setup was a bit more conducive to the big crowds as there isn't much space from the front door to the counter but still a fantastic find!

There is a silver lining though, they will still be operating their Forest Ave pickup location and you'll still find their pastries at many other local establishments. To ensure we did not miss out on anything we arrived right at opening. A line already formed but once we located parking we jumped in. Despite the small space the three workers had such a great system going for keeping the line moving! Despite the line of everyone getting their Belleville fix they had everything in stock and about 9 different pastry options. Since it was our first visit we wanted to get a variety of pastries to try a few. Seeing so much positive talk about their croissants we needed a classic version of that, a Pain au Chocolat, Morning Bun, and lastly a Palmier (they describe it as a caramelized puff pastry cookie). Drink wise my wife got an iced lavender latte and I got an iced chai latte. Drinks were good and all the pastries were phenomenal. My wife has found a new favorite pastry with the palmier. Sad to have this great bakery shutting its doors but I will be seeking out their baked goods at the other location!

The cardamom bun was delicious - it was light, slightly sweet, the cardamom flavor was not overpowering and the brioche was perfectly moist. Coffee was also great - simply a drip coffee but they are using a medium-dark roast from tandem coffee roasters that will be a general crowd pleaser. Just be aware they don't have all of the pastry options every day, I went looking for a kouign amann but the cardamom bun I had didn't disappoint, so next time I'm here I'll have to catch 'em.

The raisin croissant was great - it was flaky, light, there was a nice simple syrup that created almost a candied undercarriage - this could have also been the sugar that cooked out of the raisins when baking. The croissant didn't exactly have anything particularly standout about it, it just tasted like it was very well executed. Oddly didn't get much of a buttery flavor from this croissant, I also feel like a very small amount of spices could have gone a long way to help pull in some warm undertones for the flavor. If I get back here on another trip, I'll be sure to arrive earlier to get some different options.

Upon entry, you'll see the current offerings in a display to the right, and a view into the kitchen through a window in the left. The friendly staff could not be nicer; zero attitude whatsoever even after winning a prestigious James Beard award. Zero seating, too, unfortunately, other than a few benches outside. -- Chocolate Croissant: A sturdy brown contraption with a crusty exterior and a bready interior. Mine was still warm, with a good crackly bite and hints of wood flavor from the oven. Underneath were strong accents of chocolate. Very good and very different. -- Almond Croissant: A swirl shape along the lines of pain au raisins, but with almonds and almond filling. That filling was nicely understated and natural, complementing while deferring to the still-warm dough. Another example of very good and very different. This place strikes me more as a bread bakery that also bakes pastries than a pastry shop that also bakes bread-- not that there's anything wrong with that. And it's a place that's willing to sacrifice breadth of offerings (at least at any one time) for quality of offerings, and there's nothing wrong with that either. Looking forward to many more visits to get that breadth-- and bread-- over time.
