To go box. Almond Croissant, cardamom bun, and plain croissant
    Sebastian H.

This was our last stop on our last day in Portland. What a phenomenal bakery. Everything fresh. Everything delicious. The ham and cheese croissant with Dijon was bomb. The cardamon bun? Yes, also bomb! I can't remember the name of what my girl got, but it was a spin on an everything bagel w cream cheese. If you said bomb, you guessed right. The only minor complaint would be the coffee was not hot. Both of ours. They were just above room temp. But listen. The display case here seems like it can do no wrong. I got a plain and an almond croissant to go. The plain one got eaten on the ride and it was great. I can almost guarantee the almond croissant will be delicious, even the next day. This is a highly recommended spot for some amazing baked goods. Do yourself a favor and go. Now! ENJOY!!!

Cute coffee shop. Staff were super nice and after they made my drink I had additional questions and they were extremely hospitable and accommodated my request! Morning bun had the perfect level of sweetness and texture was a perfect balance of moist and flakey. Latte was delicious and the rosemary complimented the coffee well

Brought my girlfriends here for brunch. This place is so cute. They have an assortment of coffee and tea orders as well as pastries. The croissants are a favorite of mine - unbelievably flaky and crisp with no bizarre fillings. But the shining star of this place is definitely the pizza: they put EFFORT into their flavor combinations and proximity to the eastern promenade almost ensures a personal pie and park date for 2 in my future. The service was SO friendly and i love the location next to that bizarre inland lighthouse on north street.

This was a small little spot which we stopped into in the morning. The space was small a pretty nice. The service was also good with the employees being very friendly. The selection of pastries and sandwiches was limited but we went at 10:00am which could've been the problem The pastry we got had cream in the middle of two soft buns. We found it to be very delicious and not overly sweet. The sandwich was also very good with the bread being the star. But the coffee and chai latte were disappointing. They weren't very flavorful and very watery. Overall the pastries and sandwiches are must but the coffees and lattes didn't seem to hit the mark. And there just really wasn't much to choose from. I would give this place a go though if you're in the area *this is only our opinion*

Stopped by around 10am on a Saturday and it was already bustling in here! This is a cozy, light-filled cafe, with just a little bit of window seating. Most people bought things to-go. I ordered a classic croissant and a citrus bun -- both were delicious. The croissant was impossibly flakey, the citrus bun had just the right amount of zing and chew. Service was prompt. I'm excited to come back soon and try the other items/beverages on the menu!

Delicious pastries and coffee from a cute little shop in munjoy hill - so flaky and delightful! What's even better if you can walk a couple block to the eastern promenade to enjoy the goodies. I ordered a choc au pain, kouign amann, and some sort of brownie in addition to an iced latte this time around. Devoured it all, but I think I liked the depth of flavor in the brownie the most this rainy morning on the prom.

This little pastry/coffee/pizza spot is very cute inside and packs a punch with flavor. Really enjoyed my maple mocha as well as the BLT and croissant we had. Service was quick and straightforward. Only taking off one star because the prices of the pastries are a liiiiiiitle bit high, but not horribly unreasonable. It does seem like they sell out pretty quick so if you want specific items you have to show up early or order the day before. Also heard that their pizzas are fantastic, will hopefully return one day to try those!

Portland is bakery rich but pastry poor. And I mean bakeries that make viennoiseries, not muffins and cookies bigger than your face (no offense to those who love little Debbie's style baked goods). Til this year, the only place in the area where I could find *pastries*, the buttery, flaky bites of heaven, was really only Standard Baking that lived up to those expectations. You can get a croissant or a pain au chocolate anywhere, but anything more you can fugedaboutit. Then in my searches for pastry glory I found Belleville...right after the pandemic hit. I don't follow them on social so had no idea about all their pop up events, but finally I've gone. This year the pastry gods struck southern Maine hard and has blessed us with many options, but of them all, I think that Belleville has won the gold for me. Their Kouign Amann is tiny but mighty. Their croissants come in plain, almond, and hazelnut - all perfection. They call their pain au chocolats, "pain au chocolat" (I have no idea where "chocolate croissant" came from, it's not even a croissant shape, but I guess "bread made of chocolate" doesn't sound that great!) Their cardamom bun is epic glory in all it's bun-ness and cardamom-ness. In fact, this is what really keeps me coming back. They have a pastry limit which while my eyes exceed, my order doesn't. The only thing keeping me from gaining weight is the fact that they only open a few days a week. Whew. I have yet to try their pizza but that will be coming very soon. I can finally bid my failed searches goodbye when the pastry need hits me. So long, farewell, I eat pastries. No more Whole Foods disappointment anymore!!

Croissants, coffee, pizza, lots of great food friendly team members, but there missing listening to customers on drink orders - acknowledging but not executing. The tip screen is by far ridiculous 20- 25-30 % auto tip after buying coffee and pastries The tip could be $18 Sorry need the liberal wokeness to become a bit tamed.

Highly recommend visiting on a rainy and cold Saturday morning in November! We even used Belleville's address to pick an Airbnb for a weekend visit to local friends. Delicious pastries + espresso drinks + Eastern promenade walk were an A+ morning itinerary. The pain au chocolat and cardamom bun were both as excellent as imagined. Kind and efficient folks at the counter too. Looking forward to future visits!

Great neighborhood patisserie. I don't know if you can go wrong with anything that they offer. The pastries are excellent. The pizza is also not to be missed. The pizza comes out later in the day. The place is usually packed on the weekends so if you show up without having ordered ahead, you'll have to wait in line. I have never waited in line but it seems to move pretty quickly. The pro tip is to order ahead online. Easy in and out. The only disadvantage is that they do "special" items that aren't available to order ahead. But I am fine with everything that's offered for online order. The space inside is a bit cramped but it's set up well and it has a lot of natural light. I haven't been in the new location on Forest Ave yet but it's just. a pickup spot anyway. Please give Belleville a try!!

Belleville never disappoints! I love to pick up a box of delectable goodies and savor them at the eastern promenade nearby. They serve up Tandem coffee which makes the best pairing with your treats. Also, LOVE that they have a preorder system so you are guaranteed your pick of pastries which also makes for an easy grab-n-go. The highlight of Belleville is their laminated pastries so make sure you try a croissant (or two, or three!

I can confidently say I have never had a better pastry in my life. You absolutely NEED to get the Kouign Amann (pronounced Queen Amahn) - it's a croissant with caramelized sugar in the middle, and it kind of creates a custard. After the first bite I immediately wished I had bought a second one because I didn't want to share it with my partner! The insides are buttery, flaky, layered - all the words you want to hear in a croissant. As an added bonus, Belleville has coffee and espresso-based drinks which pair perfectly with all the tasty treats you are bound to pick up while you're in here! They're only open Friday through Sunday right now, and I'd suggest getting there early to make sure you have your choice of all the pastries they offer! They go quick!

Our least favorite was the morning bun with walnuts - we didn't have it right away so that might've been part of the issue. I usually go for their sweet pastries, but the cheddar scallion biscuit was a standout: melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The large peanut butter cookie was soft in the center and very tasty. Service at both locations was friendly and helpful. The West End shop has a small seating area, while Bayside offers more tables and (I think) a counter with stools. Moments went by and the line started to get longer, that's when I knew this place was going to be good. At 8 o'clock an adorable man opened the door and he looked like he had been working all morning tirelessly and I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. I walked in and my glasses fogged, I couldn't see a thing. I will never forget the smell upon walking into this teeny tiny, standing room only magical bake shop. I have never smelled anything like this in my life, the coziest, warmest, freshest delicious smell. Seriously unreal. They didn't have a ton of options at the time I went in, chocolate croissants, regular croissants some other options in the window and then a section above of items from the day before. They had a schedule on the board indicating when more items would be available later in the day. It doesn't get more fresh and real than that. I got a croissant and a chocolate croissant and went on my merry way. On my walk back to the hotel I took a bite of the croissant. Holy magic. I've never had a croissant so perfect. The flakiness the flavor, I mean this place is special. By the time I got back to my hotel I tried the chocolate croissant as well and while it was also delicious, it needed to be warmed up, the chocolate was hardened and even then it was delicious. We ended up choosing French Toast, Soft Scrambled Eggs, and the Fried Potatoes side. Every dish would be an absolute no brainer for us to order again. Every bite of food kept us wanting even more. Lastly we grabbed a chocolate croissant to go and that was just as tasty and enjoyed it after our visit. After this visit it is certainly a new favorite spot of ours, and look forward to coming back! Worth your time visiting!
