Been wanting to give Waxwing Bakery a try but I just don't get early enough to do so. My stepdaughter bought a box of goodies and brought it to my house for us to share. The croissant was flaky and delicious. I also loved the jalapeño cheddar scone. The rosemary biscuits are interesting and tasty. I think their prices are about high for the area but you gotta pay for quality. I am hoping I get to go myself sometime soon to experience dining in.

This bakery is exceptional! So unexpected to find a place like this in Windham. They clearly take pride in using great ingredients (many of them locally sourced!), following seasonal flavors, and using the utmost attention to detail in their lamination and baking. As many have said, it's important to note that they sell out of their best things early, especially on the weekends. Your best bet is to arrive before 9am. You will be rewarded handsomely, I promise! Some things that are not to be missed: whatever their seasonal rotating danish is (both savory and sweet are delightful), the ham & cheese croissant, cheddar jalapeno scone (like a super tender and flavorful biscuit!) and my personal kryptonite - quiche. Waxwing's is in the top three quiche I've ever had and I've had sooooo many quiche. They do sell them whole if you really want to impress at a brunch gathering! Speaking of selling whole - they do pre-orders for pies and cakes around the holidays, and they have big beautiful loaves of things like sourdough and challah. You can also get a 1/2 loaf of sourdough if (unlike me) you have some restraint when it comes to bread. Their coffee is really freaking good - I'm a sucker for their pumpkin spice latte, which they have begrudgingly put on the Fall menu, much to the delight of us basic witches! Everyone here is kind and patient, even when I'm staring into the case of goods with my mouth hanging open, practically drooling, trying to decide what NOT to get. I will say that everything here is priced according to it's quality (not cheap), so it is a splurge to come here. But it's worth every penny. Now go! Be delighted with butter and coffee and goodness!

One of my favorite bakeries in Maine. Everything is baked fresh. I love the almond croissant. The coffee is also amazing. We go here regularly in the morning when staying at Little Sebago Lake, as it is right in town.

Great service! Friendly, fast and very welcoming owners!! Cute cafe style set up. Not great for large groups of 5+, however it was perfect for my group of 3. We were able to grab a table after some folks left and we comfortable sat for about an hour, enjoy pastries, hot beverages and each others company. Super laid back place. We got a little loud while laughing but the people around us didn't seem to bat an eye. The baked goods here at 10/10 - wow!! They know what they are doing. Croissants - buttery and flaky, banana bread - perfectly cooked, the hot chocolate was creamy and delicious and had a beautiful heart on top. I bought food to go, because I was so impressed. The loaf of sourdough - YUM. They are happy to answer any questions you might have about the ingredients, flavors etc. Parking - be sure to park in front of the bakery - parking that is labeled for other businesses or located in front of other businesses are not for general parking...one of my friends was "yelled" at by a neighboring business owner/worker I can't wait to go back! I highly recommend!

What a great addition to Windham. Already appears to be a popular spot considering the place was packed despite snow. But honestly would you let snow stop you from getting delicious homemade baked goods? Both the people working were friendly and welcoming! They have coffee and tea offerings with their coffee being from Tandem. But the appeal here is clearly the baked goods. As soon as you open the door and step in you are greeted with pleasant smells of freshly baked deliciousness. All of the offerings are displayed for you to pick from and with all the choices good luck picking just one thing! My wife wanted their Blueberry Lemon Scone and I got their Apple Danish. Both were perfect and I would get either one again but will definitely return to try even more. If you are looking to enjoy the food and drinks here they have roughly 4-5 tables and a window bar/counter with 6 or so stools. So make sure to get here early especially on weekends! Can follow their social media (Instagram) to see their fresh offerings for the day. Add this place to your list of spots to check out!

FINALLY. Somewhere on 302 where you can get a GOOD latte. Both the hot and iced latte were excellent. The flavor syrups are add your own. They have a couple of gluten-free options, (limited to cookies). The buckle and chocolate croissant were super good. The pastries are clearly high quality.

When I first tried Wax Wing Bakery months ago, I never imagined I would enjoy it as much as I do. The service is fantastic and the owners are just so kind. I ended up loving Wax Wing so much that I setup recurring orders with them each week.. I highly recommend it for the food and service. Above that, the overall look and cleanliness of thus establishment is top tier.. I have nothing but good things to say about this business and I intend on fully support them well into the future

Great local bakery! This is my first time trying it. I got apple danish, potato/bacon danish, chocolate croissant, quiche, and blueberry scone. All were great! I'll definitely be back to try more. They have coffee and tea. They have tables to eat there or takeaway. Took ours home and did just a little time on the toaster oven to warm them.

A great experience - food and service!…read more Parking - It can be tricky and because there are other businesses nearby, please be very careful to not park in reserved spaces - some are labled and some are not. A friend had parked and a salon worker came out to inform her it was reserved parking. We arrived mid morning on a Sunday before "tourist season" and we were seated pretty quickly. As Jeff D mentioned - It's cozy in here. It's smaller dining area with a combination of low tops and high top tables. It only felt crowded once a large party of above average sized guys came in...I think they were 8 - They were football player sized guys, With that said, we were able to squeeze by them when we left. I had to get a table pancake (shared) based on the yelp photos and descriptions people had shared. It was fluffy and delicious. Was well cooked, not overcooked or undercooked. The breakfast plates are great. Yummy potatoes, next time, I am going to try the regular homefries. The bread....YUM...it's housemade!!! Great portions, great price and great service! When I'm in the area, during non-tourist season, I look forward to visiting again!

Pros: + It seems like you can bring in your Chipotle from next door and eat it here with your coffee. I've also seen people bring their own lunches from home. Is this allowed or do they just look the other way? I don't know, but I appreciate it (as someone with a specific diet who can't always get a safe nibble out and about)! + You can order from the app, no problem (I've even done it while I was sitting inside, because I couldn't be bothered to people). + Drinks are made accurately. Segue... + When your drink is ready and they call out your name, they double check that your drink looks correct (some people know their coffee has enough cream based on just color). And, after the first sip, if you have any issues, they are more than willing to fix it to your liking! Segue... + This staff is just so, so, sooooooo nice. The employees really go out of their way to get to know the regulars. Agree with another reviewer who said they always greet people when the enter: true of every time I've stepped foot in here! + They never, ever try and hurry you out. I've been here for four, five, six hours before, no one said a thing. Cons: - it's not always the cleanest Starbucks. Crumbs and wrappers on tables, seats, and floor. But - from what I've seen - they do actively try to clean between rushes!

I was shocked that a small coffee is $2.86, and that you can no longer add your own milk. At the price, they should have small cream packets as an option for those who like their coffee just so. Accommodating, friendly staff here. However, I opted to not purchase coffee here because of the price.

I stopped in after searching for Hop Water and saw on the Hop Water website the Good Life Market sold it. I arrived about a half hour before close so I was one of few customers and ended up buying a ton and wanting more. First, I found a 4 pack of beer that had JUST been released in Burlington VT and then Portland ME (collaboration beer) and immediately grabbed it. Absolute score! I was super impressed with the beer selection, both refrigeratorated and on the shelf, plus N/A options, hop waters, mixers, you name it. Before I even made it to the beer section I was drawn to the prepared food because I was hungry and knew I would have to prepare something when I got home. I got smoked ribs (probably a half rack) for $11.99, Cole slaw and a broccoli bacon salad. They had multiple refrigerators and freezers with everything you can imagine, frozen Slab pizza, health drinks, locals meats, local ice cream, etc. I noticed a huge wall of local coffee so I will be going back to hopefully find espresso beans, which are challenging to come by. I didn't notice inside seats but that would be a good addition. For the ribs, I wrapped them in foil and baked at 350 for 20-30 minutes. I was so happy to find real food, prepped for easy reheating. I will definitely be back with my husband to order sandwiches and pick up more goodies.

Not only did the burnt crust eliminate any fish flavor, that's all we could taste for the rest of the day. Both of us started getting stomach pains on our long drive home and were ill for the rest of the night, unable to eat dinner. We don't know if it was caused by the burnt fish or the coleslaw we only took a few bites of. We are new to the area and drove 45 minutes just to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, the positive reviews and photos on Yelp were only of breakfast, not lunch. The breakfasts that were still being ordered at noon did look good. And staff was friendly and attentive. We considered sending the burnt food back but didn't want to wait another 40 minutes to have it replaced. And the "no whining" sign was not encouraging. So we risked a bad experience and paid a terrible price by eating slivers of a meal that should never have been allowed to leave the restaurant kitchen. Two stars is very generous on our part.
