Long coffee bar (ignore the strange angle - was trying to avoid photographing customers!)
Julia S.

Excellent, strong, silky cold brew. Had almost a chocolate-tone to it. Aesthetically this place is very nice with black and white tiles and red accents. There's a long counter to sip your coffee or chat. The barista welcomed each person as they walked through the door. Great experience all around.

I tried the coffee here and it was quite nice. I popped in here to see the new place, I applied to work here and couldn't get a job due to scheduling conflicts. The owners I am pretty sure are deeply connected to the art scene and have a lot of art from their studio upstairs. They are very immersed and aware of the importance of the arts, and being from Portland this is super special to see.

Portland's newest coffee spot located in the Hay Building that once was a Starbucks location. Opened by the artist couple who own the art gallery in the same building brings you Flatiron Coffee. They had their opening yesterday and the amount of people there early today shows that many are looking to check it out. On their website they say they are aiming to be a European style coffee bar. The space when you walk inside is nice and full of artwork on display and will continue to rotate I believe. Seating is limited with around 10 bar seats available. So chances are when you visit those will be taken already. They have all your typical coffee offerings you would expect and some flavors you can add for 50 cents too. They source their coffee from local spots such as Claw Coffee Roasters and Lay Day Roasters with their baked goods coming from local spots as well. My wife and I both got a different flavored iced latte, she got mocha while I got vanilla. I thought the prices were reasonable and kinda what you'd expect. Next time we visit we will try and snag some seats and try a hot drink with some pastries. Staff were friendly and despite it only being their second day they were managing the crowds/orders very well. If you live in the area or find yourself nearby check out the newest coffee spot in Portland. While there are already many options, maybe this will become your new favorite!

Very sophisticated coffee bar with great atmosphere. I was going to get a latte but saw they had cider and went with the hot apple cider. It was delicious. Staff is very nice. Will come back.

Just a sample of the art you will enjoy

Heat up the quiche and the focaccia for the best tasting experience. Staff and baristas are warm and friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings! Plenty of shaded patio seating and we lucked out with a breezy, gorgeous New England summer day! Hubby got a lemonade to go as we were leaving and it has a lovely herby flavor...we think it's lavender and rosemary. Perfect for summer.

We read that there would be a line and yes there was, but a short one (we would have stayed either way). The line went fairly fast. Our order taker was nice and friendly. We ordered the egg breakfast sandwich, jalepino cheese biscuit and the earl gray iced blueberry scone. The coffee of choice was the malt ice coffee. Ok. Rating the food: Breakfast sandwich-ciabatta bun-slightly sweet and very buttery..nicely fried egg and sausage YUM Jalepino cheese biscuit- salted top, jalepinos mixed inside with cheese. Nice and crisp on outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Earl gray iced blueberry scone- exciting!! Nicely baked with real blueberry. That icing tho - just the right sweetness! The malt ice coffees-great coffee flavor with a hint of malt - YUM Overall one of my own MUST TRY suggestions for anyone visiting Portland and needing a breakfast and coffee!

They advertise themselves as all day cafe/bar and market. The vibes were perfect with an overall cozy and welcoming feel. It seemed like a spot many regulars come to often as the workers appeared to know many people who came through! They have a bar with roughly 8 seats, along with some tables. With the back of the store having goodies to buy including candles, self-care items, wines, drinks, and more. Worth browsing before or after your drinks and food. We snagged two bar stools and were immediately greeted and served water along with a menu. All three staff members were friendly and made us feel welcome. Drink wise my wife got an iced mocha while I saw their drink special of the month on social media and had to try it. Named The Blue Rose with Butterfly pea flower, cardamom rose, whole milk, pebble ice and espresso on top. A photo-worthy beverage with a delicious flavor. I would keep coming back for this drink for sure if it were a permanent menu item! Food wise my wife and I both got a breakfast sandwich, only difference she got bacon while I got the impossible sausage. Well made and delicious sandwiches that would make us return as well. I do wish they would have been a little bigger though. If our visit today was any indication of the typical my wife and I would gladly return! Friendly service in a great setting with well made food and drinks. Need to return to give their cocktails a try! A standout space in Portland.

If I were to come back here I would opt to just get coffee rather than food OR I'd come for a glass of wine because I did like the vibe on the inside. However, the breakfast sandwich was rather disappointing and our service was VERY slow. I ordered a coffee about half way through my meal and had to leave without it because it was taking too long.

This is an amazing little spot! The menu, while not gigantic, is filled with quality choices. The specials added on a brisket sando, which was top-notch! My partner's burger was perfectly cooked and the tots were piping hot and crunchy. The people running the truck were patient with questions and put together our order quickly. The truck is parked near Rising Tide, so there are many, many picnic tables and lots of shady spots. We are already looking forward to the next time we'll go there!

They have a lot of breakfast sandwiches made on their homemade English Muffins. When I went to order I asked what's the favorite/best sellers and we told the Yinzer. I also figured I'd get another sandwich too so I went with the Pastrami on Rye. Unfortunately they did not have any Pastrami available so I will say I panicked a little and ordered the BLT. I took a bit to get our food but they were busy so I et that. Once home I got into the Yinzer first. Let me tell you this thing was saucy but I like it that way. I will say I was a big fan of the English Muffin, probably on of the best I have had. I also had plenty of Chipped Ham which was rather tasty. Now the BLT I wasn't the biggest fan of. I guess I'm just not a big fan of a breakfast sandwich with veggies on it. Just didn't work for me. Would for sure come back if I was in town again because they have a lot of tasty sounding sandwiches.

After having some of the bread prior to our meals at a few restaurants, we found out the bread is locally sourced at a sister business right around the corner from where ate the night before. There is parking avail for customers in the lot for 30 mins, we prob waited about 20 mins and crossed the threshold into baked goods heaven. There was so much to select from - we got pastries, cookies, pizza and bread - and we pretty much liked everything. Our least favorite was the morning bun with walnuts - we didn't have it right away so that might've been part of the issue. Just note that the bread served at the restaurants aren't available until 2pm - we were leaving that morning so we weren't going wait for it. We opted for other loaves instead and they didn't disappoint. If you want something yummy and fresh - make sure to stop by here before heading out of Portland. I do wish the setup was a bit more conducive to the big crowds as there isn't much space from the front door to the counter but still a fantastic find!
