    Brown Butter Pistachio Matcha
    Richard D.

I tried the Brown Butter Pistachio Matcha with whole milk, yet the drink was not very creamy and was almost watered down. The matcha is there, but it's not strong and does not justify spending $9 for. My friend also got the same drink with oat milk, but that drink was creamier. We asked the worker about it, but they said the difference in creaminess was because of the difference in milk. However, I would expect the whole milk one to be creamier.

THE CUTEST MATCHA SPOT TO EVER EXIST!! It's a matcha girlies dream. They have cute little games and so many photo op spots for your matcha drink. They sell whisks and ceramic bowls. The matcha menu is extensive but all the drinks sound so good. My group decided on the coconut, sesame, and strawberry. All I can say is it did not disappoint!! You can tell the matcha quality is better than most places. It wasn't powdery and the drinks weren't sweet. You could taste the earthiness. It was the best matcha we've had in a while. The girl working the register and making our drinks was efficient and sweet. We will definitely be coming back. They also have punch cards, so if you're a matcha lover like me you'll get an 11th one on them!

Happy surprise to find Matcha Mood as I walked around downtown Portland for food. Both inside and outside are adorably decorated with lots of matcha related pottery and goods on the side for purchase. There were so many options to choose from, and I ended up going with the basic option of Strawberry Matcha. Service was quick, and matcha was delish. Wish I can take Matcha Mood back to NC! I will be back next time I'm in Portland.

MatchaMood - A Dreamy Green Tea Wonderland in Portland, ME If you're a matcha lover (or matcha-curious), MatchaMood at 654 Congress St, Portland, ME 04101 is an absolute must-visit! This cozy little shop specializes in all things matcha, crafting drinks and treats right in front of you with the perfect balance of flavor and aesthetics. We tried: Strawberry Matcha - A refreshing, fruity twist on traditional matcha that's both creamy and vibrant. Kuro Kitsu Matcha with Brown Sugar - Rich, deep matcha flavors balanced with caramelized brown sugar sweetness. Biscoff Croffle - An absolute sugar rush in the best way possible! The crispy, buttery croffle is loaded with caramel, whipped cream, and Biscoff goodness--pure indulgence! The variety here is impressive, and everything is made fresh to order. Whether you're a matcha fanatic or a newbie, this spot is worth checking out! Food: 9/10 - Obsessed! Affordability: 7/10 - Reasonable for high-quality matcha. Ambiance: 5/10 - Cute grab-and-go spot, but not much seating. Already planning my next visit! #MatchaLover #PortlandEats #MatchaEverything

This place is legit. I got the black sesame matcha it was tasty. It was about $10 because we add soy. Overall, a great idea

I LOVE the variety of matcha drinks they offer! So many unique flavors to choose from & not too sweet. I ordered the Ube Dream which was nutty, creamy and overall delicious. There is not a lot of seating and it was very packed when I arrived so it's more of a to-go shop but super cute and aesthetic overall. The workers were so cheery and helpful. The drinks are a bit on the high side $8-9 per drink. Plenty of milk options to choose from and crufffles too! One size of matcha drinks. I will definitely be returning to try to the Coconut Cloud!

A spot my wife and I have been meaning to try and we finally did! What a great addition to Portland. If you are looking for grabbing a matcha then forget about any other spot! This should be the one and only spot you grab matcha from. It's a small little shop but is decorated perfectly and is so inviting!! I got the iced purple matcha and my wife got their iced matcha chai. Both were great drinks and their menu had so many good sounding ones we will return for sure. The staff were friendly and inviting and clearly know what they are doing with how tasty their drinks are. A must try spot!

Cute shop and vibe. Fun menu with a lot of flavor variety. I got the black sesame with oat milk . It was exactly how I would drink this without asking for less sweet- which is shocking for me. I usually always have to ask for no sweetener or only 1/4 sweet, but I wonder if it's because they're respecting and using real matcha they aren't using extra sweetners? I really appreciate this so much because I always have issues with drinks being too sweet. There was no grit or grassy flavorful. I could taste the black sesame. It was $9.75 is my only price tag shock for this drink so it wouldn't be an every week treat.

This is such a cute spot with a fun, vibrant aesthetic. The service is always fast, efficient, and friendly. And best of all, the matcha drinks are delicious! There are so many drink options, many of which are unique and interesting! All of the options I've had have been well-made with high-quality matcha and other ingredients. It's a stronger, richer, more flavorful taste than other generic matcha from coffee shops.

Because Matcha is a whole vibe!! And this place was top notch. I approve everything about this woman owned shop! Please support this beautiful cafe

Cutest shop ever! I would live in there, it's so adorably curated and decorated. The woman behind the counter was sweet and super friendly. Strawberry matcha was amazing and so was the banana waffle. I wish I lived right next door to this place. It's perfect!

Cute place. This was my first time here and I brought my computer to work and enjoy a matcha but it was so tiny and really busy. So if you're looking for a space to sit and work this wouldn't be the place depending on how busy it is. The ladies working were nice and answered questions and also made great recommendations. I ordered the ice Mango Oat Milk Matcha. It wasn't too sweet but sweet enough and perfect for my hot walk back to my hotel. I'll definitely be back when I'm back in town.

They advertise themselves as all day cafe/bar and market. The vibes were perfect with an overall cozy and welcoming feel. It seemed like a spot many regulars come to often as the workers appeared to know many people who came through! They have a bar with roughly 8 seats, along with some tables. With the back of the store having goodies to buy including candles, self-care items, wines, drinks, and more. Worth browsing before or after your drinks and food. We snagged two bar stools and were immediately greeted and served water along with a menu. All three staff members were friendly and made us feel welcome. Drink wise my wife got an iced mocha while I saw their drink special of the month on social media and had to try it. Named The Blue Rose with Butterfly pea flower, cardamom rose, whole milk, pebble ice and espresso on top. A photo-worthy beverage with a delicious flavor. I would keep coming back for this drink for sure if it were a permanent menu item! Food wise my wife and I both got a breakfast sandwich, only difference she got bacon while I got the impossible sausage. Well made and delicious sandwiches that would make us return as well. I do wish they would have been a little bigger though. If our visit today was any indication of the typical my wife and I would gladly return! Friendly service in a great setting with well made food and drinks. Need to return to give their cocktails a try! A standout space in Portland.

I was really intrigued by the rye and caraway muffin, and I love a good pastrami. Unfortunately, the thin pastrami was a bit chewy. If there is a meat spectrum that ranges from jerky to moist and tender (such as Sam LaGrassa's), it was too close to jerky. With plenty of butter and melted cheese, it was pretty greasy, though the flavor was enjoyable. I was happy to try it, and my wife really enjoyed the complex Como Se Dice Buon Giorno, with prosciutto, hash brown, banana peppers, etc. Next time, I'd probably grab a package of their English Muffins to bring home and create my own egg sandwich, but it's a quaint neighborhood spot worth checking out if you're in the area.

After having some of the bread prior to our meals at a few restaurants, we found out the bread is locally sourced at a sister business right around the corner from where ate the night before. There is parking avail for customers in the lot for 30 mins, we prob waited about 20 mins and crossed the threshold into baked goods heaven. There was so much to select from - we got pastries, cookies, pizza and bread - and we pretty much liked everything. Our least favorite was the morning bun with walnuts - we didn't have it right away so that might've been part of the issue. Just note that the bread served at the restaurants aren't available until 2pm - we were leaving that morning so we weren't going wait for it.
