Stopped in for breakfast, counter service ordering, enjoyed the garden sandwich on Focaccia bread. Coffee was self serve, enjoyed the breakfast blend. Not sure when I will be in Freeport again but I liked this place for a quick sandwich.

    Yummy pastries

OK, I'm worried about telling you about this place because it is SO good that I'm not sure I want to share it. Let's just say everything we tried was good and they have a whole selection of gluten-free pastries, and a whole section of gluten plus pastries They have a turkey club that I don't want to share with anyone. My hot chocolate was some of the best I've had and the cappuccinos and the lattes are wonderful. Corbin is an excellent general manager. The staff is very helpful. And oh my God, the soups !!! I'll leave it at that.

Fantastic. Great outdoor seating with plenty of shade. Service was great and timely, we didn't have to wait too long during lunch hour. The food was delicious. I got the flank steak sandwich and my wife got the havarti. The fries were incredible and would recommend again. Stop here for a quick bite in Freeport!

I had first been to the Bake Shop in January of last year - I think they had been open about a minute. I have been back for a few things since, but on the advice of a friend, I went all in for breakfast! And it was so very good. I opted for an egg sandwich on an everything bagel with cheddar. It was very good - sometimes a bagel is "too" much for a sandwich, but not in this case. Yummy. Wayne went for an egg sandwich w/bacon on a croissant - also extremely good. The service was great - we said we were going to sit outside and they brought the food to us; sitting outside - so good - something that definitely didn't happen in January.

Spacious casual place with outdoor seating. It was late in the afternoon when we arrived and someone from the kitchen came out to take our order. We both had the chicken gyros and they were fresh and tasty.

Opened in December 2022 in downtown Freeport in the former Italian restaurant space on main Street (next to Key Bank and across from Sherman's book store). Small side parking lot or front street parking but close to many of the nearby parking lots. Yummy sweet baked good with lots of gluten free options. Yummy sandwiches. More than a bakeshop! Yummy bar menu with martinis- blueberry and espresso, fun margaritas, different mimosas. Lots of canned local craft brews. Cute indoor seating area and lots of outdoor seating. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Free wifi. They have gluten and dairy free substitutions for salads and sandwiches and gf pita.

A group of us were in Freeport this morning in the middle of a roadtrip and we decided to stop at The Bakeshop for breakfast. One of us is gluten free, and it can be challenging to find good options for her at times. However, that was not the case at The Bakeshop! They had so many amazing gluten free options, and we were pleasantly surprised! All 4 of us ended up ordering the breakfast sandwich, 2 of us on regular focaccia, 1 on gluten free house-made focaccia, and the 4th on a croissant. Everything was spectacular! We were hoping to grab coffee, as well, but they don't have an espresso machine, so we ended up passing on that. Nevertheless, great spot for a bite to eat in the morning! There were a few people working from home there, too, with the free wifi. 10/10!

    Gluten free molasses cookie!

What a gem! I had the BEST breakfast sandwich here that I've ever had. (The fried eggplant on a croissant). The coffee was so good! I also got the gluten free molasses cookie to-go and it was perfect! And huge! Everyone working there was also so ki and the ambiance was cozy & cute. I live in Florida but, I can't wait to go back. Kudos to The Bakeshop! You are AWESOME!

Hands down, this place has some of the best bakery items and food I have ever tasted. Everything is fresh and moist and divine. Do yourself a favor and stop by if you're even remotely close to Freeport.

Delicious food, great coffee and the best GF options!!! 100 % worth the trip. Charming patio... GO!

I will say they appear to have their baked goods as well as many different food options like sandwiches but my review is strictly for the coffee. Once you enter to the right is all the different seating with a good variety of tables and chairs but also some more comfy choices like couches. Quite a large space inside and a handful of tables outside to enjoy the nice weather. You order at the counter and then they have a spot further down where they'll call out your name for both food and drinks. They had a section on the menu called the MET Artistic Lattes which was their version of specialty flavored lattes. This caught our eyes. My wife went with the Falcon Pride (chocolate & white chocolate latte) and I went with the Vanilla Bean Dream (white chocolate & vanilla). Drink wise they were both pretty good! Didn't become a new favorite coffee spot but good enough we would return if we found ourselves in the area looking for coffee again. To have a real strong opinion I would need to return and try some of the food rather than just the coffee.

Pleasant, prompt and fun to interact with. The management and staff at this location, are always so professional and well skilled. They definitely help make it a great experience. The environment hasn't really changed - cozy warm living room feel. Upholstered furniture. Still very nice. It's amazing that it doesn't feel worn out, even after all of these years. In the colder days, the fire place and fire pits are nice. Appetizers have been consistently great. The favorites: fresh bread, crab cakes, calamari and meatball Main dishes - any of the specials they offer are typically great. The most recent one I had was the crab cake and burrata risotto. Any pasta dish is usually amazing and I love ALL of their dinner salads with so many protein options you can add. The desserts - the only one that I know and love is the chocolate cake. ALWAYS consistently good! Parking - street and behind the restaurant there is a lower lot - difficult if you have accessibility needs, as it's an angled driveway. Warning - it's a one way in and one way out lot! There are signs, however, I have seen some people either not see them or ignore them. Drive slowly. Reservations - Easy peasy via the Resy App! I highly recommend reservations even on days you think it might be slow. This place is a main hub for the town and surrounding towns for a nice sit down dinner that isn't too casual.

The bun was not good at all, and I know it is probably mainly because it is GF, but it's just a shame we can't get better GF bread easier nowadays, and we pay more to have it. The amount of lobster was also super disappointing, which was frustrating because I thought I saw someone else with a lobster roll that looked pretty substantial. My mom got the fried shrimp basket and the shrimp were so tiny, similar to what you'd get at a fast food place when you order shrimp. Terrible! My bill was over $200 for 7 of us, and I left feeling disappointed about how they executed GF and the quality of their seafood.

We still love their smashburgers - you can get a signature one and you can build your own - they have really expanded options over the past 5 years. The chicken sandwiches are always so good. I recently discovered I loved the Jalapeño Popper Chicken sandwich. Their fries are always so great - especially if you have queso. Speaking of queso - one of the best things they have added to their appetizer menu...chips and queso- We love eating the leftover queso with our fries with our sandwiches. Chips have a lovely seasoning - sometimes a little heavy handed with flavor - but they are still delicious. I love their breadstick/pizza appetizer. it's more a focaccia bread and it's soooo good. Sometimes I just have that for my main meal. They have wonderful local beers in the cooler and wonderful sparkling non-alcoholic options as well. Don't forget to ask about their specials. In January we had the chicken curry soup - holy moly - it was SOOOOOO GOOOD!!!! And the warm pita that accompanies it. It's perfect. The shaved brussel sprout caesar is soooo good and VERY filling. While it's a small dining area - we have never found it crowded where there weren't seats. The food is just as delicious to-go. They do a ton of to-go orders.
