4.75 Went in on Friday and we had the bee sting pizza and a ceasar salad, both were great. Great drinks. Fresh Swish and a gin mixer. We already made up our minds we were coming back the next day, but for entrées. Saturday we came back. Arancini perfect, great demi garden salad (plenty for even 2) i got the Wagyu filet.. ordered medium rare and it came out rare rare, didnt matter, sauce was so good i didnt even care. Our server Gage was concerned and asked me if i was okay or wanted it to go back. No thanks. He even told a manager even though i did not complain. She came over and i told her i was all set. Wife had the salmon and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Gage is an EXCELLENT waiter. Whenever we come to Freeport we will only come here.

This place is PHENOMENAL. The service was great, great atmosphere and setting and the food did not disappoint. I wish food had been cheaper because I wanted to try more, but the prices aren't outrageous. The margs are great, as margs are, and they're a good price too. The lobster roll was great, although the meat was cold which was a bit disappointing but the butter that came with it was warm and made the cold meat easy to ignore. They also do free birthday dessert, which was a lovely surprise when I gave my ID to our server and after we had finished, he brought the dessert menu and told me it was free since it was my birthday. For the lobster roll, two margaritas and the birthday dessert, it came to a grand total of $60! Great presentation of the food, if you're in the Freeport area and need a good bite to eat, this is a must-go!

2/9/26 Service a bit off. We tried a wagyu beef sliced impossibly thin on a (?stale) savory pasta. The sausage pasta not as good as the bolognese- The panna cotta celestial! Virgin BM a ten.

A busy place right on the north side of the Freeport shopping area. Parking in the back, which is very good. There is indoor, bar and patio seating. We had a nice spot inside near the windows. Two sandwiches- I had the crispy haddock sandwich. I have to say it looked fantastic but lacked in taste. Very bland. Fries were good. My husband had the chicken salad BLT and liked it. A mixed crowd inside of families and couples. Overall a nice place to enjoy lunch during a shopping trip.

To be honest, this wasn't our planned choice for dinner, but it turned out our planned restaurant was closed, so ... And to get to the bottom line quickly, we enjoyed a good meal with fine service and came away quite happy with our "discovery." The restaurant is attractive, roomy inside with tables and booths and a bar and also has delightful outside seating. Our server (thank you Laura) was quick to get to us and took good care of us throughout the meal. We were served with no delays, with the hot dishes hot and the cold beers cold. A good evening. We found the Seafood Alfredo ($38) to have just the right texture, bursting with flavor of the seafood. The calamari was a bit chewy but pretty tasty, we enjoyed the crispy Bang Bang Shrimp ($20) and the Chicken Parm Pasta ($30), and we thought the side of spinach (yep, we're spinach fans and will actually order it by itself) was very good. The dessert chocolate cake was yummy and indulgent. The menu items we thought to be just a bit on the pricey side, but it isn't altogether unexpected in this tourist area. And whatever we ate, it was better than heading to McDonalds because our planned restaurant was closed. Thanks Tuscan Bistro!

After 2 days of eating bar food in Freeport we were craving something a little more sophisticated and in a sit down environment. Throw in a craving for some fresh pasta and we found Tuscan Bistro. Located smack dab in the heart of town it was nice that they have their own amply-spaced parking lot for those not already meandering about the downtown area. We went in without a res and were promptly greeted and seated with a smile. Our server Zach was kind, knowledgeable and had great timing/organization. In order to try more of the menu and not have leftovers whilst staying in a hotel we like to split apps, entrees, sides and a dessert. They were able to accommodate us and there wasn't an up charge at the time of writing this. The crab cakes were delicious. Perfect sear on the outside and full of tender crab. They aren't huge but also aren't just a pile of breading like you find many times. Our entree was a simple pasta and meatballs as good as grandma makes. The marinara was tasty and the pasta was cooked to perfection. The side of carrots were also cooked correctly and seasoned well. We finished with a lemon blueberry tart (it is Maine after all) and like everything else, it was really tasty. It wasn't cheap, but it wasn't outrageous either and I never mind paying for quality. Would definitely return if in Freeport and looking for Italian.

Wow... 100% recommend this place. The food was Delicious!!! Seafood Alfredo had huge chunks of lobster, large scallops, tons of shrimp... all perfectly cooked. Soooo Good!!! Everyone else in my group ordered some type of pasta dish and not a single complaint. Service was amazing. We grab a table in the bar area... was very friendly and kept our drinks full. Loved the overall vibe. Open kitchen overlooking the entire restaurant. Plenty of Indoor and outdoor seating. Can fit small and large groups. Plenty of parking in the back.

Stopped here for lunch the other day. It has a cozy warm atmosphere with a large bar and lots of tables. We sat at a high top in the bar area and the service was very friendly and quick. I got the chicken parm sandwich and it was very good. The pizza also looked great. There is also lots of parking out back which is nice because it can be hard to park in Freeport!

There are not enough adjectives that I could use to describe how great this place is. Super friendly and helpful staff, amazing food, super quick service, great atmosphere. We liked it so much we came back a second night to see if it was real or did we just get lucky. It was real. If you're in town you need to check this place out.

Great restaurant spot in downtown Freeport. Bar seating area and yummy drink menu as well. Great business lunch spot - something for everyone on the menu. Dinner can have long waits during certain times of the year so try to book a reservation or call ahead. Great for larger groups or group celebrations (with reservation). Free Parking is behind the restaurant. Interiors are beautifully decorated by Nicolas Home. Weekday (excluding) Friday Happy Hour. Sundays they offer brunch until 3pm i think. In warmer months there is outdoor seating.

Via Vecchia was definitely worth the wait, and this was one of the most surprising restaurants during our trip. We ordered the brussel sprouts, grilled octopus, campanelle, and radiatori. The menu is pretty small and the dishes are not fancy, but this is more than made up for by the bold, fresh flavors, less-common ingredients, artful presentation, and generous portions. And equally importantly, creativity. Take the parmigiana, for example. Rather than boring, dry chicken breast theirs are made with boneless thighs, a much more interesting choice. In the carbonara, where you might expect bacon, something better: guanciale. Decorative herbs? Not the common parsley sprigs, instead beautiful purple micro-basil. The pastas: every one is made fresh in house, not dried. Excellent service as well. My waiter, Lucas, could not have been better, in every way. As for the bartender, Russell, the specialty cocktails are his own creations, with whimsical names, ingredients many of which I've never heard of, and the two I tried were fantastic. And he seemed genuinely pleased when I complimented him on this as I was leaving. The only service flaw - minor - was a delay in getting my first drink, which arrived after my appetizer. Appetizer was Arancini. Crunchy coating, and inside a risotto-style rice, al dente, along with asparagus, guanciale, and two cheeses for added interest. A beautiful presentation, artfully drizzled with lemon aioli (the lemon too subtle) and purple micro-basil. Two large pieces, and because I was dining solo I took one home for breakfast - along with half the generously-sized dessert cake. My cocktails: Eve's Temptation: Caraway-thyme infused vodka, Oloroso sherry, Dolin dry vermouth, apple, lemon. Hattan Bow Tie: Basil Hayden bourbon, Cocchi Barolo Chinato, Pernod Absinthe Superiore, flamed orange. Wish I could have tried every one! There's also a very interesting-sounding wine list including a red sparking Lambrusco dessert wine, served chilled, that I wanted to try but didn't. Lucas recommended the special pasta of the day, a simple dish of house-made spaghetti, romano, Calabrian chilis, garlic (lots and lots of it!), parsley, and bread crumbs. I don't normally go for pasta entrees, especially simple ones like this, but in this case it sounded interesting and I trusted his recommendation - after adding the optional grilled shrimp and guanciale. These additions raised the price considerably, but it was so worth it. The fresh pasta was perfectly cooked and the cheeses and bread crumbs added body without making it too heavy. The shrimps were very large, not overcooked, fresh, and loaded with more garlic flavor. The tails were not removed, which always slightly annoys me. The guanciale added smokiness and textural interest. More purple micro-basil for garnish. Pretty to be sure but disappointing to see it again; they used that on the arancini. As for the heat: it was more than mild from the chilis but by no means hot. The most assertive flavor was the garlic, much of it raw. Maybe a bit excessive but I'd rather have too much than too little. A good-sized portion but not huge, just the right amount to feel satisfied but not stuffed. And I left room for dessert! Dessert options were limited, even more so than the entrees. I decided on the pistachio olive oil cake. My take is it's like a pound cake but made with olive oil instead of butter. Olive oil was also drizzled on the plate and over the whipped cream; interesting. Lots of pistachio flavor, in the cake itself and also in the candied pistachios mixed in and sprinkled over the whipped cream which was flavored and firm. I ate one of the two slices and that was enough, taking the rest home. When I opened the box the next day I saw that they had even packed the leftover whipped cream in a small container, and it was still firm, not runny. Impressive. Disappointingly, there are no ice cream or gelato offerings for dessert. Lucas agreed with me that it seems a strange omission for an Italian restaurant. The room is comfortable and attractive, natural wood, old-fashioned cabinets, cork and burlap dominant in the decor. Plant prints, mosaics made from wine corks, an antique dresser in the men's room. The bar, dominant in the room (no TVs - yeah!), is apparently the place to meet and greet in Brunswick. I lost count of the number of hugs exchanged between the many people coming and going over the 90 minutes I was there. No hugs for me but I enjoyed watching the activity.
