Gluten-free Montecristo sandwich
Valerie M.

We have been here a few times, but I always forget to take pictures and post. It is a beautiful little spot. The decorations are very pretty and there is an upstairs seating area. We always sit at the bar . There are lots of gluten-free options and it's always good. By the way, the bartender is wonderful.

We braved the Maine Mall recently and decided to use up a gift card we got from the folks who manage Tuscan Table and Tuscan Bistro, after a bad experience at Tuscan Bistro. Let's start off with the really cool decor inside, including some really intricate floor tiles near the bar, interesting light fixtures, and a couple cool murals, especially going upstairs. The booth seats were really comfortable, too. Our server was really helpful and kind. Attentive, but not pushy. The food was quite good, ranging from a foccacia that was crispy on top, yet soft inside, with three great options to spread on it. My partner's bolognese was well executed, with a surprise ingredient of meatball chunks. My carbonara was pretty good, although a bit saucier than I prefer. All-in-all, we were impressed and would go back sometime.

The wife talked me into checking this place out since she had been to the Tuscan Table a few times for business. My 1st impression: Luv the atmosphere! Great service at the bar....prompt & friendly. Build Your Own margaritas..Nice Touch! 1/2 off Happy Hour, 2-6pm Sunday to Thursday Interesting craft cocktails...I tried the , Habanero infused tequila Beach Water drink. It has a definite bite but also yummy. Wood fired pizzas are Awesome! Everything is reasonably priced. Well thats it for now. we'll be back for sure, so check the Tuscan Table out and Enjoy!

Holy shitscolie, 1st time here. We arrived around 12:10 PM. The place is huge, a very large horseshoe bar & 2 levels. It's a good thing I was seated on the 1st level. I would have had trouble walking up & down the stairs with my bum leg & cane. We are seated in large living room chairs with huge cushions. We ordered oysters with minionette dressing. I forgot to take a picture before I inhaled the oysters. The "famous "Chicken parm sandwich didn't live up to the hype. The focaccia bread was cold, The chicken was overcooked & dry. Kris loved her caesar salad with salmon & of course anchovies. Personally I find It interesting that the salad came with no bread. Now that I experienced Tuscan Table I have no desire to return.

Maine mussels

We had a reservation and were seated quickly upstairs, which set a nice tone for the evening. Service was warm and attentive throughout, which added to the experience. We started with the Maine mussels, and the sauce they came in was delicious, rich, and flavorful. The bread that accompanied it looked a little burnt at first, but once dipped into the sauce, that didn't matter at all. Mussels themselves were fresh and tasty. The cocktail shrimp were also a hit, plump and perfectly chilled. For mains, the salmon was just okay (first time I got asked how I like my salmon), but the short rib was fall-apart tender and flavorful, definitely the standout of the entrées. The ribeye was huge, great for anyone looking for a hearty portion. To finish, the blackout chocolate cake was rich, indulgent, and a must for any chocolate lover. Between the service, the atmosphere, and a few standout dishes, Tuscan Table is worth a visit, especially if you're in the mood for a hearty Italian-inspired meal in a beautiful setting.

Looking for a nice lunch during the rainy Saturday so stopped in for a bite. We decided to sit at the bar which is always fun to chat with the bartenders. Always down for some specialty drinks and chanting menus. Appetizers hit the spot!

Visited TT for the first time in years for lunch recently. I love all of the restaurants within the local "franchise". Always a good value, atmosphere and food. I don't go out on Saturdays often but I was shocked at how busy it was. Not to mention groups of people around the hostess station. I questioned when my friend said she'd make a reservation, but clearly she knew the drill. Because of said reservation, we were seated quickly on the 2nd floor right next to an awesome 2 story wine rack storage situation. The decor feels high end and so does their menu, and sometimes prices. I researched the menu at home the night prior so I had everything narrowed down. I opted for the chicken parm sandwich with side salad and a tequila sage cocktail. The waiter was attentive but also gave my friend and I time to catch up. He brought me a to go container, without me asking, when he noticed I cut my sandwich in half and was eating very slow. The bathroom was super crowded, definitely wish it was bigger. I think it had 3 stalls but it's also a huge restaurant. I love smelling like a wood oven after I leave.

Came here for lunch with two friends. The service was great and the food was prepared and brought to the table in record time. Delicious bolognese and price was appropriate.

Prosciutto wrapped Deviled Eggs
Tim C.

A lovely, Italian restaurant with Tuscan refinements, knowledgeable waiters staff, and a substantial menu with balanced variety of choices. The featured Sauvignon by glass was fantastic. Fresh, crisp, and fruity. Perfect the warming weather. The Prosciutto Wrapped Deviled Eggs, while not an Italian dish, is an untraditional take on an American dish commonly associated with picnic fare and family buffet tables. Just the right amount of sweet and acid with the balsamic glaze and pickled fennel. It was a revelation that upscales the dish out of its humble beginnings. Truly delicious and perfect for sharing. The Farro Spinach salad with Beef Tips was also great next course. It comes with spicy cashews, strawberries, crumbled feta, thinly sliced fennel topped with balsamic dressing. A delicious combination of flavors and textures begging for more warm weather. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We ate this before our half marathon!! It was delicious. Everything hit the spot. The waitress was also so sweet. It hard to pick what was my favorite out of what we ordered because I loved it all. The inside was also so cute!!!

The cozy, romantic atmosphere made it easy to settle in for a long meal. Sitting by the window overlooking the street, it honestly felt like a scene out of an old romance set in a brownstone in NYC. There was so much to love about the food, too. The pasta tasted fresh and perfectly cooked, my pesto had a great balance of flavor, and both of our drinks were beautifully made. You can tell the kitchen puts care into the ingredients and preparation. Unfortunately, my husband's chicken parmesan came out undercooked. The chicken was clearly raw in the center. It was disappointing, especially on a special occasion, and food safety issues like that are hard to overlook. I do want to highlight that our waitress was outstanding. She noticed something was wrong from across the room and stepped in right away. She handled the situation with professionalism and kindness, and we truly appreciated her attentiveness. What left us surprised was that no one else came by to acknowledge what happened. With something as serious and easily preventable as raw chicken, we expected at least a brief apology or check-in from a manager. It was less about getting something for free and more about feeling taken care of after a pretty significant mistake. Overall, there were some really lovely parts of the experience, but the food issue and lack of follow-up made the night feel more mixed than we had hoped for a celebration dinner.

Via Vecchia was definitely worth the wait, and this was one of the most surprising restaurants during our trip. We ordered the brussel sprouts, grilled octopus, campanelle, and radiatori. The brussel sprouts was the one dish that I was most hesitant about, seeing that it was paired with a blueberry agrodolce. Not a typical combination, but this ended up being a favorite. The sweetness & tartness of the sauce worked SO well with the sprouts - it's an excellent dish. The octopus had the perfect char, and all of the flavor pairings were really cohesive. I had never heard of either of the pastas, but I loved the textures of both. The campanelle with nduja cream was delicious, but did get to be a little heavy about halfway through. Radiatori with bolognese was a classic but well executed dish. Service is attentive without being overbearing. Prices are super reasonable.

When I moved to Portland 7 years ago, I fell in love with this place. Sadly, it has gone down hill…read morefrom there. I am not sure what has gone on especially in the past 18 months, but after the last four consecutive visits, the food has been just dreadful. Over cooked, under cooked, slimy/greasy, bland, over frozen, dry. So sad. Places like this shine for me and it is so sad when things fall apart. Today I got the Chicken Parmesan prepared meal from their reach in section. It really did look so yummy. I took it home and heated it up on the stove over low heat like I always do to ensure food that is cooked is not over cooked in the re-heating process. Little did I know that the chicken was already over cooked. When I took the first bite of chicken I was not sure what shocked me first: The total blandness of the chicken, the hardness and obviously over frozen-ness of it, or the over cooked of it. Over frozen has a very distinct taste. And this chicken had it. I think it was frozen, thawed too quickly, cooked (over), then re-frozen. This is just not what you do to food that is supposed to be as good as it is supposed to be here. I hope you guys figure things out. The last meal was the lasagna and it was so greasy omg. And it was similar with the spicy sausage pasta a few months ago - just so very grossly greasy I could not eat more than a few forkfuls. And the chocolate cake - i was totally bummed because on the lid you have a label that says "Our delicious moist chocolate cake". It was so dry, i had to toss it after two bites. You guys had a fantastic reputation. I cannot spend my money here anymore, but even more than that, I do not want to risk eating a bad meal.

This time my husband and I brought a friend with us, which meant more sharing and trying a lot more of the menu. We started with the kale salad and the gnudi pasta, with the latter being the star of the night. The kale salad was delicious, incredibly light and refreshing. We accompanied these with some aperitifs from the never-ending and impressive cocktail menu. The gnudi pasta was listed as a main, but it made for an incredible app. For dinner, I ordered the tagliatelle, which was divine. My friend's rigatoni may have been the best out of all of the entrees, though. It was phenomenal. We finished our meal with dessert. It was this almond and fruit cake that was delish, although the dessert menu was a bit limited for what I expected. As always, the ambiance is just lovely. I had a margherita pizza, which I thought was really good. As others have mentioned this pizza is not "American" style, it's Napolitano, which I think translates literally on Google to "don't drown your pizza in mozzarella, this isn't Domino's stuffed crust." My friend had a salad to start, that had a lot of different flavors to it -- a mix of fruit and greens and fennel and... and... For my taste, it was a little too-too. But it was fresh as everything else we had was. Server was super nice and accommodating - we chose to sit outside, and it started raining. Heads up -- only a few of the outdoor tables fit under the glass awning, and the covering doesn't cover completely. So I'd definitely recommend going when there's a lower chance of rain. One other thing I'll add around ambiance is that the area for dishes/plates is right by the back door, and the sprayers are loud.
