Chickpeas..this is a sleeper! Try them! So good!

Laid back, friendly service. Food was excellent! Don't think you will get the extra cheese Domino pizza! This is refined and truly special!

The wood-fired pizza was excellent, amazing dough with great texture and beautiful crust. We had the Limone and the Amatriciana, both really flavorful. I do think the pizzas could've used just a bit more cheese, but overall they were thoughtfully crafted. We asked to add burrata and were politely declined, with a kind and clear explanation about the chef's intentional balance. I actually appreciated that! It showed care without coming off as snobby. Service was good, warm, and attentive. This is a small spot with clear passion for what they do.

Holy wow! After visiting Rome earlier this year, I've been on the hunt for good Italian food - especially pizza, and I love me some supplí too. We went to Quanto for the pizza, and were not disappointed. The dough is soooo fresh and flavorful, and thin but didn't get soggy like some Neapolitan-style pizza. The sauce and guanciale were on point and the pie was baked to perfection in the Italian oven, crispy and chewy in just the right balance. The supplí was also an excellent find and very tasty. Desserts are on point too. Gabriela is a font of knowledge about wine, and the list reflects that expertise - and she can also tell you about how they source their other ingredients, locally and sustainably as much as possible. Clearly, the team here cares about authenticity and quality, as well as creativity. Atmosphere is casual / not stuffy, yet great for foodies! We enjoyed a delicious meal and a great dining experience. Looking forward to visiting again!

Solid Pizza spot that is definitely worth checking out. Pizza is rough because there's so many styles/preferences..with take that into consideration when going into Quanto Basta. The the interior is intimate and gorgeous, and the staff were friendly. The Pizzas themselves (we got 3) were all packed with great flavor and definitely memorable (note, they are small so you easily order 1 per person). The only "miss" for me was that the pizzas felt a bit more Italian traditional in that it very thin (not crispy thin, just thin). For me, a Pizza needs a bit more bite to it outside of just the crust (again, if you vibe with thinner pies, then this is your spot). Definitely recommend checking out!

We Ordered takeout from here selecting the bring out to our car option for curbside pick up. She came out and said they don't do curbside pick up anymore but she decided to do it anyways which was very nice! It's a nice small little place which holds a lot of energy and passion it seems. And the pizza was very very good. Class of wood fire oven pizza with amazing texture and leoparding on the crust. The tomato sauce was so delicious and the Ingredients seemed to be of very high quality. They came in paper bags as seen in the picture which was a little odd but I sort of liked it. We Will definitely be coming to this place again and hopefully eating inside the place this time. *this is only our opinion*

Pizzas are made with sourdough crust, was unaware of that until seeing the menu in person. They were fine not great. Personal sized 12" pans. Nice small place but was a little slow on the staffing

Small shop on Congress Street, away from the most commercial areas but an easy walk from most of them. Neapolitan pizza that's very light, droopy, bready, and leopard-spotted, and the base--or undercarriage, as a well known pizza aficionado might say--is the key component. Not only is there flavor from the dough, but it really grabs the oven fire flavor as well, with dark spots both above and below. Toppings are minimal, or as the translation of Quanto Basta goes, "just enough." If that's not enough, this pizza isn't for you, but I really liked it. I attacked the menu noticing that some pies have tomato but not cheese (like the "Rossa"), some have cheese but no tomato ("Limone"), and some have both ("L'Amatriciana"). So that's how I checked the boxes, going with those three. All were fantastic. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't want more of the toppings, but these were still excellent pies that showcased the dough and the oven. They're light enough that you can eat a whole one. Friendly staff. Casual but sophisticated atmosphere suitable for a low key first date. All-Italian beer and wine list. Sometimes you gotta give up the Allagash for once and be taken to another place. This place will do that.

We popped in, excited for the sourdough, and were not disappointed. Starting with 4 rice balls, which were delicious, we chose the Nduja and the Margherita. Nduja was surprisingly spicy, but quite tasty. The kids had the other. The crust is to die for. Service was great. Small wait to be seated, but happy to wait. Can't wait to visit again.

Quanto Basta has recently moved to a brick and mortar from full time food truck and i couldn't be more excited!!! Order at the register and then find a table among a few inside or out in the little patio out back. It definitely gets busy, so go right when they open to avoid waiting :) The suppli (kind of like arancini) are piping hot and delicious, and the pizzas are all incredible. Make sure you add the burrata to your pizza for a lil extra fun. Spritz's were the perfect pizza night addition. Service is extremely friendly and welcoming- I definitely recommend popping in for a bite!!!

Seating is limited so we sat outside on the back patio. The tables are very close together and getting to the tables people brush up against you to squeeze through. Orders are placed at the register then someone brings the food to your table. We started with the rice ball appetizer. They were over cooked and had a burnt taste to them. The pizza crust is light and a little chewy. The spicy sausage & broccoli was tasty. Not very spicy though. I think that was the only meat option. Being new they have some kinks to workout.

Let me start off by saying the food is amazing and the sourdough is perfect. The host was nice and welcoming. My only concern would be the time it took for us to be seated. Took about 40 minutes, but I do understand that they have very minimal seating to begin with. Take it to go if you are hungry, if not wait for a seat to open up.

    Italian Negroni
    Brett F.

I think my problem is that I don't love authentic Italian pizza. I'm visiting Italy in a few weeks (humblebrag) and I already wish I was just dining at Brickyard Hollow. I want bags and bags of cheese and more greasy cup and char pepperonis than I can count. And Quanto Basta is definitely not that. I'd actually call it sparse. Very limited cheese, sauce and toppings. It's like paying for a $100 bottle of wine but secretly wishing you could just pound the Porta 6 in the fridge. It's not for me, but I respect the obvious premium ingredients and technique. The doughy crust is near perfect. It's a legit pizza oven, set to 830 degrees, and the pizzas cook in maybe three minutes. The creative Italian take on the Negroni was fun, the service was great, and the room is bright and sleek. It appeared to be mostly regulars, as the staff greeted everyone by name. There's a lot to like about Quanto Basta, but depending on your preference of pizza, it also might not be for you.

Via Vecchia was definitely worth the wait, and this was one of the most surprising restaurants during our trip. We ordered the brussel sprouts, grilled octopus, campanelle, and radiatori. The brussel sprouts was the one dish that I was most hesitant about, seeing that it was paired with a blueberry agrodolce. Not a typical combination, but this ended up being a favorite. The sweetness & tartness of the sauce worked SO well with the sprouts - it's an excellent dish. The octopus had the perfect char, and all of the flavor pairings were really cohesive. I had never heard of either of the pastas, but I loved the textures of both. The campanelle with nduja cream was delicious, but did get to be a little heavy about halfway through. Radiatori with bolognese was a classic but well executed dish. Service is attentive without being overbearing. Prices are super reasonable.

This time my husband and I brought a friend with us, which meant more sharing and trying a lot more of the menu. We started with the kale salad and the gnudi pasta, with the latter being the star of the night. The kale salad was delicious, incredibly light and refreshing. We accompanied these with some aperitifs from the never-ending and impressive cocktail menu. The gnudi pasta was listed as a main, but it made for an incredible app. For dinner, I ordered the tagliatelle, which was divine. My friend's rigatoni may have been the best out of all of the entrees, though. It was phenomenal. We finished our meal with dessert. It was this almond and fruit cake that was delish, although the dessert menu was a bit limited for what I expected. As always, the ambiance is just lovely. The dimly lit vibes make for a romantic and cozy time, especially during the winter. Our server was thoughtful and attentive and had great wine recs!

The cozy, romantic atmosphere made it easy to settle in for a long meal. Sitting by the window overlooking the street, it honestly felt like a scene out of an old romance set in a brownstone in NYC. There was so much to love about the food, too. The pasta tasted fresh and perfectly cooked, my pesto had a great balance of flavor, and both of our drinks were beautifully made. You can tell the kitchen puts care into the ingredients and preparation. Unfortunately, my husband's chicken parmesan came out undercooked. The chicken was clearly raw in the center. It was disappointing, especially on a special occasion, and food safety issues like that are hard to overlook. I do want to highlight that our waitress was outstanding. She noticed something was wrong from across the room and stepped in right away. She handled the situation with professionalism and kindness, and we truly appreciated her attentiveness. What left us surprised was that no one else came by to acknowledge what happened. With something as serious and easily preventable as raw chicken, we expected at least a brief apology or check-in from a manager. It was less about getting something for free and more about feeling taken care of after a pretty significant mistake. Overall, there were some really lovely parts of the experience, but the food issue and lack of follow-up made the night feel more mixed than we had hoped for a celebration dinner.

It feels like a secret, but I know it's not a well kept one! Our server Nico (apologies if I've misspelled that!) was wonderful. He was friendly and helpful when we made our dinner choices. The other servers were also always on top of keeping our table clear and our water filled. The food was absolute perfection. We started with a salad and grilled octopus. The salad was bright and acidic which paired perfectly with the best octopus dish I've had. It was so tender and delicious, I've never had octopus that was that tender. The grilled flavor came through immediately, but never overwhelmed the delicate flavor of the octopus. For mains I had sole francaise and my husband had bone in monkfish. The sole was melt in your mouth good. It was lightly breaded and cooked in a pan with brown butter. It was so toasty and nutty and coated the green beans and simple, but perfect, red potatoes it was served with. My husband's monkfish was fresh and perfectly toothsome, served with fluffy Roman gnocchi and romesco sauce. My only regret is not having enough room for dessert because I'm sure it's incredible as well! I can't wait to return the next time we're in Portland. Just to note: this is one of the least accessibility-friendly areas of the city. The old cobblestone road that it's located on is foot traffic only. The closest approach is if you're dropped off at the end of and it you would still have a short distance to travel. There is a brick footpath on the sides of the cobblestone road that is slightly smoother, but still not ideal. Earlier in the day I was able to navigate the street okay on foot so it will depend on your capabilities. That being said, I took my motorized travel chair down there in the evening and Street and co were happy to let me fold it up and store it near the door.

It's unique and it's simple -- but the flavors created are something to keep coming back for. In my most recent visit, we had a pretty bad experience leading up to the pizzas actually being served. We had some friends visiting and decided to go to grab pizza after sending a small group back to the mainland on the 6 o'clock boat. Our order must have been placed maybe 5 or 10 minutes after 6... we weren't served our first pizza until after 8 PM. And our second pizza lagged behind that one by nearly 10 minutes. I can understand how, taken out of context, this can be seen as a petty complaint. However, it really was a discouraging experience because we had multiple (at least half a dozen) other groups order well after us and enjoy their entire dining experience all around us. The group ordering behind us enjoyed their pizzas, bottles of wine and chit chatted for nearly a half hour after their indulgences... and still rode off in their golf cart before our pizzas even made it into the oven. The part that really baffled me was that we took the opportunity to speak with the staff about what was causing the delay -- simply asking if our pizza order had been started or not yet and the explanation was "our team has made several mistakes this evening and we don't have a good estimate on how long it'll take for your pizzas to be ready". We got the same explanation after waiting for 45 minutes and again after nearly an hour and a half. It seemed like a pretty inadequate answer when their wood-fired oven was often not full of cooking pizzas and their entire staff was dancing to the music playing on their speakers. In the end... the pizza was good (same quality as expected). But my experience left something to be seriously desired.
