Local spot in Topsham always a decent size crowd. They have a menu that covers a variety - pizza, appetizers, pasta, steaks, fried seafood. They post daily/ weekly specials on their Facebook page which are seasonal as well. Yummy drink menu, lots of beers on tap.

    Grilled haddock burger and fries.

My mom, sister and I had lunch here. We started with bacon mussels, which were very flavorful and had nice crusty bread for soaking up the broth. Chew carefully, however. They were a little gritty and you could easily break a tooth. A few of them weren't open (do not eat those!), so they brought us out a few more. I enjoyed the hummus plate. The haddock burger, fries, and hamburger were delicious. We shared the creme brûlée - ‍. Overall a lovely experience - worth a trip to Topsham.

Quick service for our party of nine. We ordered several burgers, pizzas, fried pickles. All were expertly prepared, tasty. They have the Downeast peach mango cider and a MTA lager. Fun evening made special by attentive waitstaff.

Wear a sweater when you come here so you don't get as cold as the food. The family and I decided to try a new burger place- although only two of us had burgers. Two others had hot dogs and one had grilled cheese sandwich. The burgers were tasty, yet inconsistently cooked throughout the patties- I had medium rare and there were parts that were very rare. The fries all around were seasoned nicely, but could have used an extra 15 seconds in the fryer. Onion rings were good, but maybe seasoned a bit too much- they also went cold quickly. Kids disliked the hot dogs because the bread served with them was large in size, and one said the hot dog was cold.

The thickest delicious burger w/ bacon jam!

Way better than your average bar food, & the service is phenomenal. Everyone is so nice that you want to make it your local spot. * Burger: super thick & is a flavor bomb (it has bacon jam!) * Onion rings: super light batter, the right amount of onion, not greasy * Salads: house made dressings make all the difference...the white balsamic vinaigrette! * Fried chicken banh mi sandwich: so delicious * Wings: simply fried w/ no batter, perfect amount of sauce & not goopy (the ranch even has fresh herbs!) * Ahi tuna sashimi appetizer: delicious sauce & very fresh This is our go-to, especially because it's the rare place open on Mondays. Their specials means you'll always have something to try.

    Blueberry chipotle wings

My second review of this place, a couple years apart. Still 5 stars. The wings were okay - we had a blueberry chipotle but the nachos are to die for. Love that the game is always on and they serve my favorite beer (Thirsty Botanist). Waitress was nicer. Food was served quickly.

Steak and beer cheese with potato salad

Stopped here on a whim for lunch on a Tueaday when driving down I95 cause we were tired of Panera Bread. Atmosphere: What's up with all the family photos? I felt like I was eating in someone's house, so weird. The window seating was cool but they definitely need a good washing. The hightop seats are COMFY AS HELL. One of the most comfortable bar seats my butt has had the pleasure of sitting in. Food: Haddock chowder was one of the best I have ever tasted. Steak and cheese came out piping hot with SO. MUCH. MEAT. Like seriously, how do you make money off this? It was jam packed with meat, onions, mushrooms, and peppers. The beer cheese was ok, I wish I had gotten it with American cheese instead or maybe just got more beer cheese. Regardless, it was not enough cheese to meat/bread and when I think of a steak and cheese I want melty cheese not a steak sandwich with some cheese. This was the reason for not being 5 stars. My sandwich came with potato salad which was ok, nothing too exciting. My BF got a side salad with ranch with his steak and cheese and holy heck that was the best ranch dressing I've ever tasted. I put some on my sandwich and it was AMAZING. The dill in the dressing was the star of the show. I assume it was homemade because I've never had ranch that good before. Owners, if you're reading this...Hear me out.... what if you guys made a Ranch Potato Salad and used the ranch in your potato salad? I bet that would be a game changer. Cost: Not bad for what we got. I spent a little over $50 including tip for a soup, two steak and cheeses, and one salad upgrade. Pro: Great food Good value Comfortable seats Drown everything in ranch Con: Atmosphere... it's disjointed. I get it must be a family place but it's like 4 distinct areas in there and they don't flow well together (Windows, bar, intimate seating next to host stand, and weird family photo section)

We ate here today for the first time! It was excellent! Great atmosphere and wonderful service and the food was fantastic. Definitely recommend you should come check these folks out. Also, my wife is GF and they have a great menu to meet those needs. We will be back for sure!

    Strawberry Vodka Lemonade
    Wanda H.

I'm thinkin' the Strawberry Vodka Lemonade cocktails were the best part of the meal, but that may be cuz I had TWO. NOM! My Blackened Salmon Tacos were delish, but the coleslaw was not outstanding. It WAS vinegar based, which I appreciate, but just NOT a lot of flavor. The leftovers are STILL in my fridge. Hubby had the Buffalo Chicken Pizza which parts of may, or may not have, made it into my mouth. Very good. Leftovers of that, all GONE. So, there you have it folks. Our waitress was excellent. Prices were high, but ain't that everywhere? My arm could be twisted to come back here, if I were in the area...

Fish & Mashed and a Pork Belly Apple pizza
    Sue L.

We finally tried here and it was OK. The staff was great. The decor a bit sparse. The fish was good, the mashed potatoes cooled off before I finished the fish. I would go back for the coleslaw! Fresh, creamy, and just a hint of dill. My husband's pizza was very overcooked, though not burned. I had forgotten that he didn't care for pork belly, so it was not his favorite (not the restaurant's fault). The meal, like all food these days, was overpriced. We probably won't bother going again.

The issues were glaring though. We arrived early for a group reservation of 10 and started at the bar. The service was very slow and we got the sense that the bartender was frustrated that we showed up early with the idea to have a cocktail before our reservation. Bar service continued to be painstakingly slow throughout the night. The restaurant was somehow out of several of their menu options (despite the restaurant not being busy on a weekend day). Not the end of the world, but it left us asking some questions. The major issues really arose when our entree courses were served. They had somehow ran out of french fries, and you could see that in the portion size of the frites in our steak frites (the picture included in our review was our plate -- we had BY FAR the most fries out of those at the table who ordered steak frites). And they ran out of steak - one of the people at our party who ordered steak frites was served a hamburger (which isn't even on the menu). Overall, I thought that we overpaid for the food and if it wasn't for the good company at our dinner - I would have been very frustrated.

Not by any means bad, but so many flaws and so far below my high expectations from other reviews…read morethat my 2 star rating is appropriate, though it gives me no pleasure to do so. I have no issues with my waitress, Brianna or any of the other staff I interacted with. And, while the food certainly sounds interesting on the menu, it doesn't translate to tasty, attractive plates and this needs attention desperately. The menu is very small, all fitting easily on one page. There were no specials. My appetizer was the best thing of the meal, Roasted Cauliflower, with fava cream, roasted almonds, fresno puree, mint oil, and duck crackling. The plating was attractive. I liked the subtly minted fava cream (think hummus), the cauliflower florets tender and sweet from the roasting. But the mint leaves were whole (should have been julienned), the almonds didn't seem particularly roasted, and as for duck cracklings? I forgot they were even there until I reread the menu this morning while writing this review. There were 5 specialty cocktails listed on a card on the table. My Water Street Ol' Fashioned was made with Knob Creek bourbon, Liqueur 43, maple, honey, burnt orange. It wasn't sufficiently chilled. But the flavor was good, it seemed strong enough, and the cherry was of high quality; perhaps Luxardo. The wine list included some unusual selections, including an ice wine from Ontario by the glass, which I had with dessert and enjoyed. My entree was - there's really no other way to put it - a disaster. Braised Lamb: charred eggplant, blistered red pepper, polenta cake, mint gremolata. First impression: what incredibly sloppy plating! Everything piled onto one side of the plate, stray crumbs on the other side. Like somebody tripped but caught themself on the way to delivering it. This was not a cohesive dish. It was a collection of ingredients. The meat lacked flavor (what was it braised in - water?) and was divided into two odd-shaped chunks. The eggplant was chewy and sour, not noticeably charred as described. The greens (pea greens?) were a tangled mass off to one side, uncut and difficult to eat. Even with these flaws it might have been saved by a flavorful sauce to bring it together but there wasn't any. I would have added salt but there was none on the table and I didn't bother to ask. I hoped maybe they could redeem themselves with a good dessert. Sadly this was not to be. Just 4 things on the menu, none of them sounding very interesting. I should have just settled on the Affogato - hard to get this wrong. Instead, and untypically for me I chose the Chocolate Pot de Creme, unimaginatively described "... strawberry jam, vanilla granola." Like chocolate pudding out of a box (or how I remember it, being over 50 years since I've had it). The granola? Literally like they opened a box of cereal and dumped some on top. The jam unmemorable but it added contrasts in sweetness. Some whipped cream and maybe chopped mint would have been welcome additions. They had the audacity to list "Bread & Butter" in their small plates section. Described as "warm bread, lemon chive butter." How unimaginative! And while it is unfortunately getting more common to charge for bread, I believe strongly that table bread should be free. Always. Some good things too. The main dining room and bar are beautiful, with an uncluttered, modern look mixed with country touches like a farm table adorned with some wine bottles and potted plants, a worn oriental rug beneath. Knick-knack shelves on the walls, painted vines on the walls. Mostly soft jazz playing for music. But the long and thin layout is a drawback because no table gets good views, especially on the porch. I could have faced the outside windows with a view of the parking lot or the open windows to the inside, where I sat, where my views were cut off by large plastic plants. Really the best place to sit is at the very attractive bar. Where, by all means if you're staying at the hotel have some drinks and a snack, but I suggest you seek other alternatives for dining.

Next, we ordered the bread and butter, which was so dry that you had to slather it in butter for it to be edible. Zero chance I would eat that again. That being said, the wood ear mushrooms which came with polenta were quite good. We shared the short rib mac n' cheese, which was an odd dish. It was more of a pasta dish that had some cheese, sad pieces of short rib and a topping that tasted almost like tamarind but is apparently a "stone fruit chutney?" I cannot recommend it. We ended the evening with the sticky toffee pudding. We love this dessert and always like to try it when we see restaurants have it. I have never had anything like their sticky toffee pudding before. It is full of almonds, as well as topped with them. Very dry. It's more of a dry almond cake that they put some carmel on. We only ate a couple of bites. Yikes. All in all, the only thing I would eat again are the mushrooms and I can find better mushrooms elsewhere.
