This is my favorite seafood joint in the area. The food is killer. I always get a lobster roll, fried clams, and a scallop bahn mi. Their fried clams are super fresh and fried perfectly crispy. The lobster roll is a generous helping and served on a warm buttery roll. The scallop bahn mi is so tasty. This place is run by a lovely Vietnamese family who care so much about the quality. They also have a fish market and you can see everything there is fresh. I've been in there at times when they didn't serve fried clams or chowder without fresh shucked clams. The atmosphere is no frills and there is a very decent beer selection in the fridge. It's also the best deal in town. read more

I liked the staff, but the food was disappointing, the cutlery was squishy plastic, yet the reason for the review is that my dinner was the $23 scallop basket, add on $1 tax, and they came up with $25 ! Then they added my $4 tip to that 25 and got $30 ! But to top it off, when I checked my bank statement they had charged my account $30.57 I want you to add 23 + 1 + 4 and try to get 30.57 I feel ripped off on the charge and wonder what was going on with them that night. We were on the road in Maine and were trying to find a lunch spot. This place seemed to have good reviews so we thought we would try it. I will admit that I was a little puzzled by the offering of Maine seafood on the same menu as Bahn Mi sandwiches but thought we'd give it a try. We had a mixed experience. When we pulled into the parking lot, we were not sure the place was even open. The parking lot was small and somewhat junky. We almost left but decided to go inside and see what happens. We went in and there was a glass counter with fresh seafood to buy. We were seated in the small dining area that was nearly empty. My husband was looking forward to some fried clams and I was going to try a lobster role for the first time. My husband was very disappointed when the owner told him that fried clams would not be available for 30-40 minutes. He ordered fried shrimp with fries and coleslaw. He said the shrimp was not memorable, the fries were soggy and Cole slaw tasted off. It didn't help that patrons who came in not long after us were able to order clam strips without problem. My lobster roll which was dressed with butter was very good. It just came with a bag of cape cod chips and 2 small pickle chips for $37. I also ordered clam chowder which was very good. I stopped by here on a drive from Bar Harbor to Ogonquit for lunch because of the great reviews. While the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, the food did not live up to the reviews. We had the fried scallops and clams platter (not on the menu as a platter option but our waiter said they could accommodate that), which were unfortunately, incredibly greasy. I understand they're fried, but there was a soup of oil under the food that was unpleasant. It was difficult to eat more than 4 pieces because of the excess of oil. Next was the lobster banh mi. Now this might be my fault because why did I stray from the standard Maine Lobster Roll? Well, I had never seen a fusion of New England cooking with Vietnamese cuisine and was curious. First time ever in Maine and I absolutely loved the bánh mì lobster at Fishermen's Net. The bread was perfectly crusty, it had the right amount of tasty pate and veggies. The star of this is the fresh lobster meat. I can't put my finger on why I feel it's the best, but the flavors and textures works so well together.
