Chicken Marsala
Natasha M.

Good place to go for some pasta, brews, and lobster. The Chicken Marsala was fantastic and recommended by the staff. They didn't have to-go silverware, which made for interesting dining when I got back to my hotel.

The saddest order of fried pickle chips known to humankind. That was 9 dollars by the way.

I wanted to like Riverton. It's right up the street from me. But the food was just meh. I will say this I will give them another chance, especially the pizza, it looks great. But our order of fried pickle chips was one of the saddest orders I've ever seen. I think it was 9 slice of pickle deep fried. Talking chips, not spears. I don't want to come off as a fat American but this was not an appetizer for a group of people. The sandwiches were just okay. Really nothing to get excited for, and the prices seemed to be high for what they were. The parking is great, the service fantastic, our waitress was super nice and the food came out pretty quick. Also the beer specials are bad. Mic ultra for 3 bucks? That's it? The building does look great on the inside and outside patio seating is a nice touch. I just wish the place has more of a Samuels feel for being a community watering hole/dinner spot then what is currently.

I was absolutely blown away with the experience we recently had at Noble Pizzeria & Barbecue!…read more We went in for some food with our 2 y/o nephew after being out for a walk and an afternoon on a local playground. The restaurant was very busy with pizza orders and pickups when we walked in - we were appropriately warned about the longer wait times and were okay with that. The food, each item, was delicious and our whole family enjoyed it!

Signage from road is clear and unobstructed with two entrances to choose from, one on Stevens Ave and the other mid building from parking area. Lots of natural light inside with art deco lettering on the walls spelling out "Neighborhood" and "Noble". Plenty of seating options at noontime with an empty bar. Decided that's where we wanted to be. Bartender was friendly and answered all of our questions with a smile on her face and enthusiasm in her voice. At first we were going to go with sharing a pizza then we read the sandwich menu and heard the special and promptly changed our minds. I had the Brisket sandwich on the menu and my GF had the chicken sandwich special with a lemon flavor combination with spices. Tried a THC drink and found ourselves giggling before our food arrived. The pickled vegetables that accompany the sandwiches were yummy as was the corn bread we shared. The brisket was perfect not dry at all and not super fatty. Chicken sandwich was very good, the crispy coating did not diminish with the sauce on the sandwich nor when additional BBQ sauce was added. They offer two types of BBQ sauce at every table and worth trying as they are in store made. Cole slaw was the only thing to fall short as it lacked any flavor. Crunchy but nothing to write home about. Marvelous experience and will be back with my husband in the near future. Great addition to the community.

My falafel wrap may be one of the best meals I've gotten in Portland, solely based on food-to-price ratio. The falafel was perfectly cooked, and the wrap was quite yummy. It came with these deep-fried "chips" (I'm sure they are something else) and a side of delicious hummus. I paid about $10 for the whole thing, including a soda. You just can't beat that. The menu was extensive and included a mix of sandwiches, salads, and plates. Would I go back to Mazzat? If I'm in the area, yes, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to make it there! In my opinion, this is more of a takeout spot. I did dine in, but the vibe is pretty much nonexistent -- a mix of about eight tables inside without much going on. All in all, I'm glad I tried it!

Service was very polite and patient, and the food was awesome. They've got two vertical spits going for shawarma. The kebabs are displayed in the fridge and then cooked, so flavorful and interesting. There are several tables to sit and dine in if that's your vibe. It was torture driving home with the delicious smells. Don't skip eating the pickled veggies, they're unique and delicious! The portions pack a punch for the price. Next time I'll dine in and enjoy everything hot and fresh without the wait. The desserts also looked really good, next time!

It is a quaint and small and unsassuming place that packs 'em in tight but the great thing is that I was able to book a reservation ahead of time for a Friday night and we were able to be seated right away and our adventure begins. There were many vegan options for my better half and she also got a non alcoholic margarita that she enjoyed tremendously. I got three different styles of tacos and appetizers and they were divine ... (Pork Belly, Carnitas, Fried fish taco) The ambiance and the energy of the place was fantastic with the server being very good at what he did. We will definitely be back!

Bird & Co is the best Mexican spot in Portland…read more I'm not saying it's the most authentic, I'm not saying it's perfect, I'm not saying their cocktail program is going to change your life, but... 1. They take reservations (including for brunch on the weekends) and it's super easy to do online. How many places in this city are doing this? The answer is: still not many. 2. Their menu is clearly labeled with what's vegan and vegetarian. No guessing here, and the staff has always been quick to double-check with the kitchen if there are any questions or concerns. Segue... 3. The chips and guacamole for currently $10 are the same quantity of (and I mean this lovingly) overly salted, house fried - sometimes too fried - chips and a tiny scoop of good guac as most places in town that are CHARGING YOU MORE. Segue... 4. There are places in town now charging $8 to $10 for ONE TACO. And they're sometimes quite small. The tacos here average between $4.75 and $6.50 for creative, flavorful, interesting, filling options (also you can get them on either flour or corn, no upcharge). The menu changes from time to time, and I wish they'd bring back the fried yuca taco, but the solid vegan solid options right now are Adobo Sweet Potato, Fried Plantain, and Crispy Tofu. Segue... 5. The taquitos, brussel sprouts, and cheesecake are all vegan. Segue... 6. The brunch (10am to 2pm, Saturday and Sundays) options for vegans are probably the most impressive in town: tofu or chorizo or fresh avocado tacos, huevos rancheros, churro french toast, avocado toast, chimichangas. 7. The Mexican cold brew might change your life (... or at least make you really happy when you're playing hooky from work and having an 11am drink). Switch the tequila for house whisky, skip the vespertino, ask for a side of oat milk... no changes to the price when doing this, by the way, because they're THAT kind of place that isn't trying to punish you constantly with extra fees. 8. The staff is so accommodating, they're thoughtful, they check-in just the right amount. Sure, I've had a few bad experiences here, but overall... sit at the bar, make a friend, and just ask/just talk to them if you're missing something/need something etc. 9. The atmosphere here is Portland right before it became too cool (IYKYK). It's casual and relaxed, it can be intimate and loud when it's busy, it feels quite trendy yet still approachable when they've got their newly updated outside area set-up. 10. It's off peninsula which also changes the demographic and vibe entiiiiiiiiiirely. For the good. 6/5 no notes.

I had a smash burger (special) which was a bit too much -- needed one fewer item from the rich salty umami family of flavors, every bite good on its own but a LOT as a dish. Service was wonderful; my friend mentioned that she loved chocolate mousse but was too full for dessert, and our server brought us a to go portion as a bonus with the check. We got a text reminder as well as phone call reminder leading up to our reservation. On the day of our reservation we were greeted with a warm smiled and directed to our seats. What I can say is that the soup was my favorite and the turkey breast was not in the slightest dry. The short ribs were my friends favorite and we both loved the pumpkin budin. Service was polite and efficient and te music was upbeat and lively, despite the restaurant emiting a dark romantic vibe. I'm really thankful that they had reservations available and that the food was delicious since many restaurants in the area were already booked out. Thank you Wayside Tavern for a delicious meal!
