The calamari and stuffed mushrooms were mediocre and the caesar salad was bland and lacked dressing. Everyone was happy with their entrees. The outside seating was comfortable and provided much more room than our previous inside experiences in the past. Despite the disappointing appetizers the meal would have been generally okay but, her best efforts notwithstanding, we were completely cut off from contact with our server for extended periods of time because she was over utilized.

I informed them our friend might have his certified veteran's service dog and with ease she knew a good place for us, so the dog could be comfortable and lay down if needed. Very veteran friendly restaurant. My dad loved it here for that reason. Glad he was able to try it before he passed away. They treated him with the utmost respect. Our server was friendly and fast on her feet! She patiently waited for everyone to make their decisions and listened carefully to customizations for the sandwiches and sides. Our beverages never went empty! She was awesome. Our food was fresh and portions were perfect. Not too much and not too little. We didn't leave hungry nor overfull. I loved the french fries. My haddock pieces were nice as well. My friend's Reuben looked amazing. My husband got the special - Poutine burger and said the gravy was nice. The fries weren't on it, which threw us off a bit, but the cheese curds (melted) and the gravy were nice. I loved my sangria. By 12:30am the bartender started making shady comments about the patrons, including us. By 12:40 we were told to get out, with the worst attitude, and an unnecessary five-second countdown to chug our drinks. They had the place locked up by 12:50am, even though they were supposed to stay open until 1am. Never have I experienced anything like this in Portland. We will not be going back.

Kudos to the guy who made our food, and his young son who came in as was a nice diversion from the wait, as much as a diversion a middle school kid can be, that is.
