    A sweet treat.

This is a tiny place with a big following. It took several attempts to get to this place and get a seat to give it a try. Well worth the effort. Specials and features change on a regular basis, plus there are old standard classics on the menu. Be sure to check the chalk board for something of special interest. Onion rings were great, and among the best we have had anywhere. The skillet was fun, and the classic breakfast platter was fantastic. Service was very good, and with a little timing, we managed to get seated without a long wait. Worth the effort to get there and have a great diner meal.

Amazing experience! The ambiance is very classic American diner and we ate it up. The service is excellent. I was getting refills on my coffee before I knew I needed them. I had the homemade corned beef hash with eggs and toast and it absolutely slapped. My fiancée tried the pancakes and waffles (half order of each) and we loved them.

We love the Kettle for breakfast. Friendly service, great home-cooked style food. Can't go wrong with any of the items on the menu.

Tater tots topped with homemade chicken stew with carrots, corn, celery, gpeas, and green beans. Everyone say OMG! I think The Kopper Kettle has been around long enough for me to declare it a Midcoast Maine institution. I have never been disappointed in the food, and the staff are the best and friendliest folk.

A classic breakfast diner spot that is serving up the regulars and some quirky fun options at an affordable price point. It's a small place and had to wait nearly 45 min (group of 8) for their large table. Get their early if you want to try their specials! Ordered: monte cristo: not deep fried like the Disneyland version, more griddled like french toast so while heavy it wasn't too glutinous, flavors were great black pastrami eggs benedict: fare warning it doesn't come with sides but everything was perfectly cooked, toasted, and saucy Standard, in a good way. Would go again!

We were looking for a traditional diner with lots of options for picky breakfast eaters. We had to wait 15 min for our table, they told us 15-20 so they were on with timing. Coffee was ok, food was averaging, nothing. Bad, but nothing extra flavorful. Our waitress was lovely.

See pics!!! This CASH ONLY diner is the epitome of a classic old time diner that uses quality ingredients in its dishes, many dishes that are originals. Specials are offered daily; just find the chalkboard on the wall. I opted for a tradition egg, bacon, and hash breakfast w/ toast. The hash was made on-site and packed w/ meat (lots of it), potatoes, onions, and fresh carrots. The Apple Cinnamon Toast was sliced thick and it was absolutely delicious (as was the hash). My friend ordered an Irish Eggs Benedict that included hash; it was wonderful. He had picked it over a Pastrami Benedict. There were other menu items that sounded incredible. Diners can even order Chicken & Waffles. Service was very good & very friendly. Lots of locals eat here, which tells me something! We are going to make sure we eat here on the morning we leave the state by vehicle. It's just too good of an eatery not to stop in again!

I had high hopes for the Kopper Kettle based on the excellent reviews. The service was very good, but the food fell a little short of expectations. My husband ordered the cinnamon roll French toast with sausage and scrambled eggs. I ordered the pastrami eggs Benedict. And we split the grilled banana and coconut muffin. The sausage and French toast were great. The muffin didn't have much flavor, except the top. The eggs Benedict had very little flavor, there was a lot of hollandaise on it but you couldn't taste it. I did see many customers ordering "diner" basics- hash browns, eggs, toast. That may be the way to go!

Country skillet (bacon, sausage, ham). Had my hash browns on side (usually comes on bottom), Cinnamon toast.

The food portion is small and the price is extremely high. The service is fine for the small space but it's also very loud.

I informed them our friend might have his certified veteran's service dog and with ease she knew a good place for us, so the dog could be comfortable and lay down if needed. Very veteran friendly restaurant. My dad loved it here for that reason. Glad he was able to try it before he passed away. They treated him with the utmost respect. Our server was friendly and fast on her feet! She patiently waited for everyone to make their decisions and listened carefully to customizations for the sandwiches and sides. Our beverages never went empty! She was awesome. Our food was fresh and portions were perfect. Not too much and not too little. We didn't leave hungry nor overfull. I loved the french fries. My haddock pieces were nice as well. My friend's Reuben looked amazing. My husband got the special - Poutine burger and said the gravy was nice. The fries weren't on it, which threw us off a bit, but the cheese curds (melted) and the gravy were nice. I loved my sangria. I got the last one ;) my friend enjoyed her spicy Margarita, and my friend got the alcohol cider on tap! Restrooms were clean. Overall a great experience.

The atmosphere is laid back, but can also be a romantic place to go. The service has always been great! They offer high tops, booths, tables or bar seating. They have a specials board upon walking in, so check that out. Their menu isn't huge, but definitely a good variety so everyone can find something to eat. One photo I forgot to take, was their Irish Nachos, made with potato skins and we had it with pulled pork - now that was sooo good! Definitely an item to try out if you're thinking of an appetizer. Now with that being said, my husband didn't care for the pork being on the sweet side, where I did like it sweet, so good to know for those that like sweet or not sweet. We were going to order their onion rings, as we tried them before and they're homemade, not frozen, but we wanted to try something different. They have a full bar with a TV and an accessible handicap ramp, located on the front of the building. We have tried the prime rib and 104 Main Burger before and both were awesome. Also, I don't like brussel sprouts and the waitress said, "Trust me, the chef knows how to make anyone love brussel sprouts, because he knows how to cook them." Even she wasn't a brussel sprout fan - and yes, she was correct. They were amazing. If you're ever in Topsham, looking for a place to eat, stop in and give them a try!

It was also good, but you had to eat it quickly because it got cold fast. We ordered broccoli as our vegetable side, but the chef gave us stir fried squash and zucchini. Dawn was embarrassed and went back for the broccoli. However I ate all of the mixed vegetables because they were actually quite good. The issues were glaring though. We arrived early for a group reservation of 10 and started at the bar. The service was very slow and we got the sense that the bartender was frustrated that we showed up early with the idea to have a cocktail before our reservation. Bar service continued to be painstakingly slow throughout the night. The restaurant was somehow out of several of their menu options (despite the restaurant not being busy on a weekend day). Not the end of the world, but it left us asking some questions. The major issues really arose when our entree courses were served. They had somehow ran out of french fries, and you could see that in the portion size of the frites in our steak frites (the picture included in our review was our plate -- we had BY FAR the most fries out of those at the table who ordered steak frites). And they ran out of steak - one of the people at our party who ordered steak frites was served a hamburger (which isn't even on the menu). Overall, I thought that we overpaid for the food and if it wasn't for the good company at our dinner - I would have been very frustrated.

Not by any means bad, but so many flaws and so far below my high expectations from other reviews…read morethat my 2 star rating is appropriate, though it gives me no pleasure to do so. I have no issues with my waitress, Brianna or any of the other staff I interacted with. And, while the food certainly sounds interesting on the menu, it doesn't translate to tasty, attractive plates and this needs attention desperately. The menu is very small, all fitting easily on one page. There were no specials. My appetizer was the best thing of the meal, Roasted Cauliflower, with fava cream, roasted almonds, fresno puree, mint oil, and duck crackling. The plating was attractive. I liked the subtly minted fava cream (think hummus), the cauliflower florets tender and sweet from the roasting. But the mint leaves were whole (should have been julienned), the almonds didn't seem particularly roasted, and as for duck cracklings? I forgot they were even there until I reread the menu this morning while writing this review. There were 5 specialty cocktails listed on a card on the table. My Water Street Ol' Fashioned was made with Knob Creek bourbon, Liqueur 43, maple, honey, burnt orange. It wasn't sufficiently chilled. But the flavor was good, it seemed strong enough, and the cherry was of high quality; perhaps Luxardo. The wine list included some unusual selections, including an ice wine from Ontario by the glass, which I had with dessert and enjoyed. My entree was - there's really no other way to put it - a disaster. Braised Lamb: charred eggplant, blistered red pepper, polenta cake, mint gremolata. First impression: what incredibly sloppy plating! Everything piled onto one side of the plate, stray crumbs on the other side. Like somebody tripped but caught themself on the way to delivering it. This was not a cohesive dish. It was a collection of ingredients. The meat lacked flavor (what was it braised in - water?) and was divided into two odd-shaped chunks. The eggplant was chewy and sour, not noticeably charred as described. The greens (pea greens?) were a tangled mass off to one side, uncut and difficult to eat. Even with these flaws it might have been saved by a flavorful sauce to bring it together but there wasn't any. I would have added salt but there was none on the table and I didn't bother to ask. I hoped maybe they could redeem themselves with a good dessert. Sadly this was not to be. Just 4 things on the menu, none of them sounding very interesting. I should have just settled on the Affogato - hard to get this wrong. Instead, and untypically for me I chose the Chocolate Pot de Creme, unimaginatively described "... strawberry jam, vanilla granola." Like chocolate pudding out of a box (or how I remember it, being over 50 years since I've had it). The granola? Literally like they opened a box of cereal and dumped some on top. The jam unmemorable but it added contrasts in sweetness. Some whipped cream and maybe chopped mint would have been welcome additions. They had the audacity to list "Bread & Butter" in their small plates section. Described as "warm bread, lemon chive butter." How unimaginative! And while it is unfortunately getting more common to charge for bread, I believe strongly that table bread should be free. Always. Some good things too. The main dining room and bar are beautiful, with an uncluttered, modern look mixed with country touches like a farm table adorned with some wine bottles and potted plants, a worn oriental rug beneath. Knick-knack shelves on the walls, painted vines on the walls. Mostly soft jazz playing for music. But the long and thin layout is a drawback because no table gets good views, especially on the porch. I could have faced the outside windows with a view of the parking lot or the open windows to the inside, where I sat, where my views were cut off by large plastic plants. Really the best place to sit is at the very attractive bar. Where, by all means if you're staying at the hotel have some drinks and a snack, but I suggest you seek other alternatives for dining.
