Had a delicious brunch here on the way from Portland to Rockland. As someone else mentioned, this appears to be a business people's hearts are invested into, with caring staff, attention to detail in the food, and very reasonable prices for customers. We got the salmon eggs Benedict and the fruit pancakes, and without asking they split both on to two plates. The Benedict was on a particularly fresh English muffin and the pancake was full of fruit. It's a charming old-school type place with friendly staff and good vibes on a weekend morning. Many people arrived right at opening - a number of whom looked to be locals/regulars who sat at the bar - and it took some time to get our food as a result. This was understandable, just not necessarily a place to go if you're in a rush of any kind. Looking forward to returning and trying the blintzes next time I'm in Brunswick. read more

It's hard to describe exactly what the best part about this place is. I felt like these people really treated us like family, and I have never once said that about any other place, not even at my own house. Really confused on how the service was so good, it was a huge highlight. The gluten free food was great! We got the French toast and proceeded to fawn over it the entire time. My girlfriend proposed marriage to the toast on the spot and the gluten free precautions were super safe for somebody with celiac. The restaurant itself was the best version of the hole in the wall idea, it didn't feel cramped, but it was cozy. Overall, this was a 6/5, I was just thrilled with the whole experience! My wife and I stopped in for lunch on a quiet Thursday afternoon. A very warm welcome upon entering. The restaurant is located right in the heart of downtown Brunswick. I ordered the fresh roasted turkey on whole wheat which came with chips and my wife ordered the stuffed wrap which also came with chips. Service was very friendly but slow. It was not busy so I don't know why it took a while to get our meals. Everything came out fresh and my wife really enjoyed her wrap which was made of avocado, red pepper, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and coleslaw. Prices were very reasonable. There is ample street parking and public lots around. Seems like it would be a great spot for breakfast. Maybe next time. read more

Stopped here on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. We had to wait for a a table for about 15 mins but they took our number and said they would call when the table was ready. They have a few tables and a bar. Our waitress was super sweet and very great! I got the breakfast sandwhich and it was good. My friends got the special for the day and the hash and they also enjoyed it. Great portion sizes for the price. Cute vibe. The only complaint I have is I like my home fries a little crispier! Their menu includes the breakfasts, sandwiches and salads you'd expect to find and several specialties, including a daily quiche. Daily specials are what sets the Deli apart. Broadway diners offers a homey dining experience. While it is part diner, it also feels part cafe. The food offerings are more nuanced than you will find at your standard diner. I enjoyed the eggs with corn beef hash. The coffee was better than standard diner coffee. The atmosphere also more resembles a cafe. Server staff were pleasant and the food was filling. My wife and I stop here occasionally for breakfast. Today however was my last. We placed our order fairly quickly and had a coffee to enjoy while we waited for our breakfast. It was busy but after waiting for a half hour we asked if there might be a problem with our order. The waitress said she would check on it. After 10 more minutes, my wife asked again where the waitress replied it's almost ready. Another 10 minutes and once again the assurance that it would be there soon. Again after about 10 more minutes she finally checks our order status. It never got into their system. No apologies were given and she acted as it were somehow our fault. A 4 star breakfast experience in Brunswick. The restaurant we wanted to go to is closed on Monday's so we decided to try this place out. Breakfast for 3 with two glasses of orange juice, 2 omelets, an egg sandwich and an order of blueberry pancakes was $55 without tip. I am assuming that is average price for Brunswick although not sure. From time we ordered to food being served was 20 minutes except for blueberry pancakes which took 25 minutes, and they were out of fresh squeezed orange juice so ordered other option (assuming supermarket Tropicana or similar). Quality of prepared food was good. Not sure we will return but overall a good experience. read more

Perfectly fluffy and light. Scrambled should never be a food that can make bread soggy or greasy. This place can teach more than a few places how to make scrambled eggs. Now for the Pancakes of the gods! Perfectly fluffy and slightly spongey to absorb the real maple syrup they provide you. The fresh blueberries have swelled so they pop in your mouth when you bite into them. The banana slices are intact yet blend in as a creamy texture to counter the toasty, crunchiness of the plentiful walnuts. If you find yourself in Brunswick, Maine and don't eat breakfast or lunch at The Broadway Deli (really a diner), you are doing yourself a disservice. read more

I have been here a few times for breakfast with my family. And the food is fantastic. Fresh, made to order and a lot of what they serve is made from scratch, like the breakfast sausage. They always have a nice list of tasty specials to pick from, if those aren't tempting, they have a nice extensive breakfast menu. Classics and fancier classic options. They always have an great selection of teas to choose from, if you order hot tea. The space is fairly small and they have arranged it to fit the maximum amount of people inside. This can be great, because that means you aren't waiting too long outside in the cold. The challenge can be, there is hardly any personal space, even my family made a comment when people were bumping into other guests trying to get in and out of the corner where their table was located. The folks that own and/or work here are extremely nice. Very friendly and are quick on the drinks and are on the spot and ready to take orders. That's where things, in our experience start to take a turn. We appreciate the fact that homemade food, that is mostly made to order, takes time and we are always prepared for that, especially in small restaurants. With that being said, there were more than 2 occasions we waited for close to 45 minutes following placing our order for 3 people and please note, the restaurant was half full. We didn't order anything fancy or customized in our orders. They were items off of the standard menu. Not sure what happened, but I will say the wait staff was extremely apologetic during each visit this occurred. We understand things can happen, but 3 times, is not a charm. When the food did arrive, it looked good and the flavors were nice, however, it was room temperature at best. It was disappointing. The only thing that was HOT, was the tea. We really do want to like this location, because it is cute, the art on the wall is cool to look at and the people are nice and we always support local businesses, however, it may be a while before we return with family and friends. I'll keep my eye on reviews for sure to see if things improve. 2018 is a new year, I am hoping to see things turnaround here. read more

My wife and I felt lazy on this rainy, cold Saturday morning and decided to go out to breakfast. My wife suggested this place because she had heard good things. I agreed because I had never been here before and I love trying new places. I have to say this place serves a very good, solid breakfast. I got two eggs over medium with sausage patties, home fries and toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The sausage patties were handmade and very flavorful... probably the best part of the meal. The home fries were excellent but the serving was on the small side. Same deal with the toast.. it was an excellent locally baked bread but the meal only came with one small slice. Located in a nice spot in downtown Brunswick the menu is fantastic. We were walking around and had our dog with us and loved the outside seating. Very dog friendly as they even had a water bowl set out for dogs. They have a set menu and a specials board. I went with the poached bowl which was egg mixed over smoked salmon, tomatoes and home fries. My dining companion got a very unique veggie Reuben. For drinks, we tried the wine and mimosa. I didn't care that much for either one. The food was great. I especially loved his pickle - yes, the pickle. Had a very nice taste. Prices were great and we saw loads of people coming in and out so it has to be a popular spot. I did feel a little rushed at the end as I think it was near closing and they were quick to take our plates and give us the bill. I'd return again for sure though. read more

We were in Brunswick for a few days recently. We were so happy to find this gem for breakfast! I thoroughly enjoyed the french toast. My husband enjoyed a scrambled egg special with salmon on the side. We had to go back the next day to further explore their menu. I had a blueberry muffin - which was lightly grilled - wow! My husband had an omelet with home fries. Also very good. The diner is quaint and just a real jewel of a place. Service was wonderful and friendly. If we get back to Brunswick again, we will definitely plan another breakfast or lunch there. read more

A delightful brunch al fresco. Kit is a funny and terrific server with fascinating stories to regale. How can scrambled eggs come out so moist and tasty? My eggs with feta, mushrooms and scallions may sound pedestrian but it is fabulous, with chunks of great cheese. My wife's fruit cup was more like a farm stand, fresh and bursting with berries of all sorts. Large portions too. Nice ambiance in a cool college town. I had a really good Reuben at the Broadway Deli today. I was expecting to walk into a deli but it's actually more of a restaurant. That was okay because I was looking for lunch and I was happy with what I got. Unlike some other reviewers, I found the service to be quick and friendly. The only thing that could be better was the floor. The old linoleum or vinyl tiles are falling apart and efforts to keep the floor clean are being hampered by the condition of the floor. In a way it's not so bad because everything about the place (especially the ceiling) seems very retro, but the floor is too far gone and hurts the ambiance. But I'd go back in a heartbeat, it was really nice and I'm glad I went. read more

Family owned since 1988 and it shows, from the owner's amazingly fluffy pancakes stuffed with wild Maine blueberries to the kind and lovely waitresses, her daughters. Don't miss out on their homemade corned beef or their 3-5 soups homemade daily. Smoked organic tomato soup to die for and luscious French onion. The wait staff is very nice but also very slow. This is a small place run by people who don't really know how to run a restaurant but are trying. I've been here a couple times and there are always some strange customers here too. The food is honestly not any better than anyone can make at home.
