Lox and cream cheese sandwich served with dry potatoes
    Alison M.

Here in a Saturday morning for breakfast. Parking lot and road side parking was packed. Luckily we found a spot not too far from the doorway. Entered through the cafe door and got in line with the others waiting for a table. 10:30a and the place is humming. After a 20 minute wait our booth table was ready. In the mood for their Lox and cream cheese sandwich. Hubby had the plate with it all, choosing a pancake instead of French Toast. Cup of coffee while we waited. In a cast post surgery and conscious about where I place it, I found resting in my other foot better then in the floor where I could see trash under the table. Being a busy morning understandable however the encrusted splatters on the wall, napkin holder, and condiments were another thing. See attached pictures. Food was great, service wonderful including the nice young lady busing the tables and greeting folks while the waitress diligently takes care of her guests. Recommend doing once over with a cleaning rag to the items on the table when cleaning the table for the next people.

I was happily surprised with Bernie's Foreside. It's half bagel shop and half diner--I had been to the bagel side a couple of times recently, since they started serving bagels from Union Bagel. It's somewhat of a cottage decor on the diner side, the original art work is a nice touch. There were quite a few parties waiting to be seated when I arrived, just after 9:30, but my friend had already been seated so I'm not sure what the wait time was like. Our waitress took our order right away. Service was attentive, our food was served fairly quickly, and she came by and refilled my friend's bottomless cup of coffee several times. The menu was standard diner fare: pancakes, eggs, breakfast sandwiches, etc. The Yogurt Delight I ordered came with fresh fruit that included strawberries, sliced oranges, bananas, and blueberries and vanilla Chobani yogurt, which is gelatin free. It also came with a generous portion of granola and toast. It really exceeded what I expected for a diner. There is plenty of parking as they are located on Route 1, in the front of the big box store. Noteworthy, they close at noon on Saturday. Overall, a positive experience and I would recommend Bernie's if you're looking for a solid, no nonsense breakfast at a place with great service and plenty of parking.

I had brunch here on a saturday. Such nice waitresses and the food was very good. The vegetable homefries with cheese are amazing. Lots of choices. Get there early as the bagels will sell out!

Such a great find. 1st time for a business meeting. Everyone is so nice. Staff so friendly and the menu is great. Seems like a local place but plenty of seating if you don't sit at the counter. Worth the visit. Easy to get to and plenty of parking

Stopped here for breakfast the other day and it was quite busy. We had to wait about 15 mins for a seat. The service was friendly. Classic diner food but the prices were a little high in my opinion. They do make their bagels from scratch. I got a breakfast sandwhich on their everything bagel and it was okay but I was expecting more for homemade. They have a connecting side that you can order takeout if you don't want to wait. Overall decent breakfast place, expect a wait if you come on a Saturday or Sunday.

Very busy little spot!! I went on the recommendation of my parents! My mother said it was a must try! She said the hollandaise is so good you want to literally lick your plate clean! She was very accurate with this information! When we arrived we were seated very promptly, within 10 min they had a line of patron waiting to be seated. The waitstaff was friendly. The food was cooked beautifully and served promptly. Look forward to our return!

Highly rated brunch for a good reason. Cute interior, a small outdoor patio if you want outdoor seating, and a collection of diner-like foods and pastries to delight you on a Sunday morning. Came to fuel up before a long day of hiking and my chocolate chip pancake, home fries, and eggs were just how I liked em'. Their egg scramble and omelets looked good as well, with good, quick service and comfortable booths for sitting. Poached egg was just cooked well but a little watery.

They have different rotating specials which is great. That is in addition to their constant menu. Brunch options are a little limited but there is a variety in different options. When I went, I got the Irish Benedict. It came with homefries. My eggs were overcooked so the yolk unfortunately did not run, which they should when poached. Despite this, the corned beef hash and hollandaise were delicious. They have tons of options for hot sauce, tobacco, or sriracha which I love. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and we had quick service. It was pretty quiet for a brunch place on the weekend. There is tons of free parking, tons of specials, and more. When I returned for dinner, we only had to wait about 15 mins to be seated. It was super busy as the Celtics were playing. Our service was quick and awesome. We got our drinks quickly followed by apps and then entrees. The whole process was smooth and quick. We tried the half veggie nachos, cheesesteak egg rolls, buffalo wings, and the meatball and cheese sandwich. Everything was delicious and worth the price. I definitely want to come back for Tuesday night trivia!

With both of us working manual labor jobs in the 90+ degree day we had zero intention of cooking. So perfect excuse to check this place out. Despite driving by it many times in the past we never stopped by Samuels so have no comparison for better or worse that many may have. Overall the ambiance/vibes are sports bar/dive bar. Knowing this we had reasonable set expectations and accepted we would likely be getting "bar food". This was quite accurate in the end. Their menu has a decently wide amount of options that even picky eaters would likely find something they want. Burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, salads, apps to name some options. They had no cocktail list but a full bar so they should be able to make you any drink you'd like. We got Philly egg rolls as an app to split and it was a tasty start. My wife got their open face turkey sandwich, she thought much of it was colder than expected and overall not impressed too much. The potatoes that came with it were seasoned well and tasty though. I got their Cajun fried chicken sandwich and it was decent, but many other chicken sandwiches are overall better. Their fries were seasoned well and crispy though. Service was leaning closer to the bad side with long times in between seeing our server and also they weren't very attentive despite not being that busy. In the end I will say give the place a try for yourself as you may enjoy it more. Nothing food wise was great enough to push us to return. Their true appeal would be the bar/drinks, yet for me I would still go elsewhere that gave a little more effort into the cocktails/having a drink list. It's nice to see some creativeness with cocktails.

My favorite one was probably the jalapeño mayo because I loved the kick, but all three were delicious. I would definitely recommend getting the flight since the rolls are smaller and you get to try the different sauces.

The theme is sports, so all the Maine teams are represented, but also a few non sport holes like local legends like holy donuts.
