Portland has needed an indoor mini golf course for a decade or more, so it's about time we get one! And Minibar has done SUCH A GOOD JOB representing Maine here: every hole is 207 themed, so expect local sports teams, locally loved institutions and hobbies and places. Be sure to take time to read the screen at each hole because there's some fun facts specific to that theme! On that note: I appreciate how tech forward they are here. You'll be given a unique number before you start playing, at each hole you enter it on the corresponding screen, do your scoring digitally, then move on. If you need the server, there's also little buttons on each screen to call them over. But, to their credit, they do a fantastic job organically making sure to get around to everyone to take your drink orders! A couple constructive criticisms: - Do people not know how to play mini golf? We had several other customers give us a hard time for being in their way... but we were playing 1 through 18 while lots of other people were just kind of bopping around to whatever hole they wanted. - There's a couple cornhole sets right in the middle of the course, and it can be very congested if folks are playing that while you're trying to play golf (you will literally be in the way of them throwing). - Golf is currently $20 per person. PRO TIP: make a reservation and pay in advance online, then create a tab for your drinks when you arrive. We made a spontaneous decision to visit, and while they were super accommodating!, our round of golf for two people and the two drinks we had were all tabbed out at the same time... which means we were tipping 20%+ on two drinks AND our golf. Honestly? That feels sneaky. I'd rather just have multiple charges on my card. - Skip the cocktails. I'm not sure I'm the demographic: I'm a childless adult who went with my partner, had a cute/fun time, but after that initial novelty? I don't know that I'd need to come back here. I guess it would be to bring family or friends from out of town/out of state to "do something" if the weather wasn't great. Asking a few questions helped us a lot since it was our first time trying this place. There are waitstaff walking the mini golf floor who will take your drink orders. There is no food allowed on the course itself. Food is available at the tables in the bar area. There are high top tables all around the golf course to put your drinks and purses on while you golf. Very handy. But, you need to remember to bring your drinks with you to the next hole. I may have forgotten mine once and twice and had to go back and get the drinks. When you start, you enter your group name, and each person in the group name. Sort of like when you go bowling. There are no paper cards/pencils to keep score...score is kept on screen monitors at each hole. You enter the number of puts at each hole for each person. The theme is sports, so all the Maine teams are represented, but also a few non sport holes like local legends like holy donuts. The length of the holes is much shorter than outdoor mini golf, but that doesn't mean they are easier. There are lots of obstacles at each hole. See photos. There are tons of big screens on the walls playing every sport you can think of, plus some trivia. We did not try the food because we were going out to dinner after. At the end you can keep the ball and if you bring it back you get $1 off the price of your next game. There is also a giant beer pong game near the bar that looks fund, in case you're waiting for the party in front of you to finish. The bathrooms are very clean. I will go again for sure. minibar was such a fun surprise! Spent a day here last weekend and walked away genuinely impressed. The 18 custom mini golf holes were creative and well-designed, definitely not your average putt-putt setup. The electronic scorekeeping system was a great touch and made the whole round more fun and competitive without any of the hassle of keeping score by hand. The food was awesome, with a full menu, not just basic bar snacks. Add in a solid drink selection and they also had trivia going on while we were there, which made for a great atmosphere. Perfect mix of activity, food, and entertainment all in one place. Whether you're going with friends, a date, or family, this is a great spot in Portland. We'll definitely be back! read more

Tried the new indoor mini golf on Saturday. 18 holes of all Maine themed golf holes. They have two areas. One big area with the mini golf and the bar. And another with more seating and lots of tv. Lots of tvs so watch all the games, cool sports bar. The food was pretty good bar food with some different options. The mini golf was fun. The service was a little slow but I think they are just figuring it out cause it was super busy for the first weekend. They also only have a few options for drinks but said they should be getting more soon. Overall cool new spot for Portland. read more

I liked this spot! We Went on a Saturday before dinner reservations and it was a super fun way to kill a few hours. We made reservations but not sure that was necessary. I really like the flexibility, people are a little wacky and were DESPARATE to play though but you can just kinda pop onto any hole thats free if you have people glaring at you for not getting holes in one. I thought the high techyness of it, no cards or pencils, you do it all on screen. We didn't eat (cause of aforementioned dinner) but got a few beers. The servers were VERY attentive and if they saw empty glasses would come out onto the course so I liked that aspect of it. It was more fun than a regular happy hour. Lots of screens so you could watch lots of local sports (seadogs! Mariners! you love to see it). Fun spot for sure. read more

Minibar was so fun! It was a great experience. They have themed mini golf with a different theme on each hole - mostly sport related. They have a full service bar and kitchen. I was with a group of 6 people and even though there were a ton of people (it was a Saturday), we moved at a good pace through the 18 holes. We got served by a server at the first hole and could keep going up to the bar if we wanted. Everything is digital on the screens for score keeping which was amazing. No paper or pencils to hold throughout, especially if you have a drink. They have a ton of high top tables by the holes and in the back by the bar. They had cute names and puns for food and drinks. They have merch for purchase. They have a ton of hangers for coats/bags, which was a plus. There is a big parking lot off to the side of the building. I will definitely be coming back! read more

This week minibar golf opened at 11 am. It is winter break so I took two boys, 6 and 9 to play mini golf. I made reservations for 11 am. There was a line about ten deep when I arrived. It was a ten minute wait to get to the cashier. I didn't really need the reservation. There are 18 holes to play in any order you wish. Each hole has a screen for you to check in with your 3 digit number you got when you paid. Each hole is themed with maine/new england sports. Theres a bar and you can order drinks from a waitress that makes the rounds. It took us about an hour to finish the course. The boys had fun, we did not stay for lunch but the menu looked good. read more

We were informed of no pulled pork or tuna until we ordered that dish. The appetizers didnt come out until after the main meal was out and we had to ask for our appetizers (there was a comment on our receipt stating "DO NOT MAKE EITHER APP". We were not asked how we wanted our burgers cooked, and had an impossible burger that was definitely not cooked enough and was mushy. Our food was barely warm when the main meals were brought out. I wish 0 stars was an option. Rude staff, bad overpriced food, the golf course is a cluster. You spend more time waiting for the hole to be open than you do anything else. They also triple charged my boyfriend's card. Not worth it. read more

This was the perfect activity for a cold January day. The staff was very friendly and attentive. By the second hole we had our drink order delivered. Paused at hole 8 for food. Sandwiches were good. It did get a little crowded around 2-3, but no huge waits. read more

0 stars. My group of four friends came in here tonight looking to have a good time and play some mini golf and grab some drinks. The night started off great as we started in the restaurant, grabbed food and drinks, and then moved onto the mini golf portion. Upon check in, I was the only one provided with a 21+ wristband and when the others in my party asked if they needed one they were told no. We got to round three an I went to get a round of drink for us and the bartender asked to see the ids of the rest of my group, when someone came and got them, she didn't return for quite some time so when I went to go check in, I was told that one of the ids was fake(it is not) and that we couldn't be served, (the girl with the 'fake' ID had a drink in hand from dinner) when telling them it isn't fake they said another one is actually fake as well and we can't be served still, rather rudely. We went to leave due to this, and when asking for a refund on the gold we didn't get to ply due to lack of service, we were told no due to "not following rules" as said by the manager and when asking what rules weren't followed she couldn't come up with an answer and we left without a refund on anything. I will never return and plan on letting everyone know that the service here is not worth anyone's time or money. Over 200 dollars collectively spent at this place to leave with a sour taste in all of our mouths. 0 stars if I could. read more

Awful service. Went with 3 friends, ordered full meals/drinks in their dining section. Paid for golf, started playing and decided we wanted to order more drinks - we send one friend up to order. She gets sent back and they say they need to see our ID, they take our IDs and then tell me my ID is fake because it won't scan and they will no longer serve anyone in my group. I'm 24. I had a margarita in my hand!! The manager checks my ID, tells me it's real but they won't serve us because they don't have to & wont refund us because we could "still play". The whole place of this point is to play and DRINK? This is ridiculous & was handled very poorly. This is my second time coming and I will NEVER be coming back and will make sure to tell anyone that asks that they are not worth giving business to. We spent over 200$ and then were refused our money back for a game we never got to pay. Unacceptable & poorly managed. read more

My partner and I came here during our vacation in Portland. It was very disorganized and very weirdly uncomfortable. When we paid for golf we were told to seat ourselves at a table when we wanted to eat, but all the tables have a sign that says 'wait for server to seat you'. When we were seated, the waitress brought menus and then disappeared. Lots of other parties were seated and served in the time we were waiting, and any time we tried to get a server's attention it felt like we were being ignored. It felt a little discriminatory as my partner and I are both Hispanic, everyone who was white was being served and talked to in a more friendly manner. We ended up leaving and not even finishing our round of golf, so it ended up being a waste of $40 and really put a damper on our day. Very disappointing because everywhere else we went in Portland felt fun and welcoming. read more

We went to enjoy some mini golf and to get a quick bite to eat. Immediately when we walked in we were treated differently than the other clientele. The lady working the front was very chatty and kind to the folks in front of us but when we were getting our clubs she was less friendly and short. We had fun with the mini golf part but as soon as we went to try and get something to eat we waited 10 minutes before anyone approached us. Mind you at least 3 other parties had sat down not far from us and they all had their order placed by the server. This was also our second time seating to try to eat because the first time no one had even approached us in general. The second time when we tried to sit we finally got someone to come over and at least give us menus. Never saw that server again and we didn't get up at all. 30 minutes of waiting and watching other parties place orders and receive drinks we decided to leave. Regardless of what we look like no one should be neglecting their paying customers and now we're $40 out from a terrible experience where we left feeling slightly discriminated.
