This is my second visit to Junction Bowl. I just popped in after a full day at work for Apps and a Brew. I was able to get a spot out front, plenty of street parking with no fees, and walked right in. Staff is friendly and prompt. I was able to just mozy up to the bar. Bar tender was prompt, took my order and I had a frosty drink in less than a minute. Ordered fried pickles and they were out in about three sips of my Pumpkinhead. They have a huge variety of draft, cans and plenty of alcohol to choose from. This includes, cider and GF options from lucky pigeon. The fried pickles are crispy, and the dip enhances the taste of the fried pickles. The full bar has seating on three sides and there are TVs everywhere you look. We are in the same room as the bowling lanes and there are twelve of them. There is seating in a separate room if you want. All in all a friendly, comfortable place to sit and rest your feet. Came here for dinner the other night. Had a pizza and potato skins. The food was good but the service was subpar at best. Despite not being overly busy it took the waitress forever to greet us. After she took our order she said she would get us plates but never did. The wait was ridiculously long and some other woman threw a plate of skins on the table and immediately walked away. No plates. One tiny sour cream for two people. We tried to wave our waitress and this other woman down but they were too involved in personal conversation and going back into the kitchen. I had to go to the host and ask her if she could bring us plates and get our waitress, but then I noticed the plates on the shelf and was able to self serve. The hostess was able to get us the sour cream. I'm not a monster so I still tipped 20% but I low key wish the tip went to the hostess instead. read more

First visit- the waitress too forever to tend to us, almost felt on purpose because we were sitting at a bowling lane and we get charged by the hour for that. Kind of annoying. She didn't seem thrilled to be there and every other worker we interacted with sucked too. Everyone seemed snobby which is the opposite of what I want to experience on a first visit somewhere. We were told which late to go to the booth and table was dirty. We looked around to make sure we went to the right lane, almost all of the tables were dirty. We were at the right lane. An hour ish in, we finally got waited on and we finally got our food which was just a buffalo tender basket for us to share and we planned on getting more food. The tenders were good! We waited around for someone to come over so we could order more and it took so long we ended up just leaving and going somewhere else. But the tenders were good. Whole place extremely pricey though. Wouldn't recommend. I feel like my 2 star rating is pretty generous lol. read more

Last night My wife and I went to Junction Bowl in GORHAM Greeted at door by hostess and we seated instantly. Greeted by Danika our waitress and we ordered. We ordered and I changed my order and added a app and tried their homemade 5 meat chili. It came out within 6 minutes hot and delicious with some warm tortilla chips. So good. About 8 mins later our meals came out. I ordered the steak salad and my wife ordered Pepperoni pizza. Both items were awesome. We brought home some of each and I had to order a takeout meal for my daughter. We ended and out to go meal was ready, she ordered homemade meatballs sandwich. We come here frequently! The food is great bar food, the salt and vinegar fries are my favorite. The pizzas are the best and chicken wings too. The drinks are strong. I have been bowling a few times and it's fun. They have trivia on Wednesdays which is a great time. We always sit at the bar and the service is great. I'll keep coming back for sure! read more

We decided to give Junction Bowl another go after a disappointing first experience when they first opened. I'm so pleased that we decided to give Junction Bowl another try! My husband's steak bomb was flavorful and the fries that came with it were crispy and perfectly seasoned. My cup of seafood chowder had gorgeous chunks of seafood and potatoes. The broth was more like lobster stew and was well seasoned. My wedge salad with steak was delicious. I loved the addition of corn! The steak was tender and juicy, We were in a group of 13 and the service was friendly and courteous. The bowling lanes were great! There's a variety of ball options and scoring setup that makes the game fun and engaging for all. A great place for friends and families! read more

So the start of the review will probably question my ranking but hear me out. It was a long week and was having a craving for a beer and pizza. Had heard about JB and when I drove by thought it would be worth the visit. The setting is pretty cool if Covid was not in play. Did not go inside but poked my head real quick to see the bowling alley, which was being used. The outside area was well spaced and offered small and larger group seating. The host was such a nice man and very attentive to the people. Why I say that is that he was more concerned about our tables not getting service. Not sure if there was a mix up with tables or short staffed but there was a good crowd. Enjoyed the music performance and my beer while waiting to order my pizza. Decided to try to the BBQ chicken, bacon and ranch pizza. The space offers WiFi but need a password for the guest access. However the Hannaford Fresh approach will work too. My server was so sweet and came out to inform me that my pizza was coming but the kitchen was having problems. Ordered a second beer and soon my pizza and pizza arrived. It looked great and smelled wonderful. And the taste. Well, holly crap it was an awesome pizza. I mean, an I will eat the whole pizza in one sitting pizza. So tasty and made up for the wait time. It was a little chilly and wish they would have turned on some heaters since I was waiting, but definitely worth another trip. read more

A former co-worker left to start this awesome business with friends and family. This place is such a welcome addition to Gorham. It's such a warm and fun atmosphere. I had the privilege of getting to attend a private work party here. Parking - There was plenty of parking on the street, to the left of the building and a few spots behind the building as well. Atmosphere - FUN! There is something for most here. There is a full bar, there is traditional 10 pin bowling and an arcade!! I love arcades and this brought me back to being a kid again. Arcade - some of the party favorites included, but not limited to: the Virtual Reality (VR) game, that is not for the faint of heart if you are afraid of heights or have motion sickness, the basketball game, skee ball and the giant Space Invaders game. They use game cards, so you load credits onto the card and then you swipe to play. Makes it so much easier then the old days of tokens and quarters/change machines. Bowling - they had a ton of options for bowling balls...different weights hand sizes etc. The seating area is roomy and comfortable. The food - YUMMY - i was able to try their cheesy macaroni and it was cheesy and decadent. Yum. The chicken wings...I couldn't stop eating them. They were the GOOD small size wings. they were crispy but I could eat them with a knife and fork. YUM. Staff - they were nice, good humored and fast! They were excellent hosts to our party. service was horrible, waited 45 minutes for a server to even come to our lanes. The button to reset the pins was hit on accident and a ball hit the lever, a young blonde came running over to yell at us without even allowing us to explain. the game ended and a kid jokingly threw a ball without realizing he wasn't allowed she then came over to try and kick us out, a party of 25 who just spent over $800 all for one ball that did no harm to any of their systems. she ran off as soon as we spoke up to get her manager. two food orders were over an hour late, one never got put in, and the food was not great. I heard the people next to us also complain about how long it took to get service. read more

Food was good. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich. I LOVED the fries. Probably the best fries I have ever had. The spinach and artichoke dip was okay but I wished it was more spinach-y. This will not be one of my usual happy reviews unfortunately. Hostess, did not smile. Barely interacted. Didn't even say follow me. She grabbed menus and started to walk away. I looked at my husband and said, " are we to follow her?" We were seated outside at the only table without an umbrella, mind you there were other tables available. It took our waitress sometime to get to us, when she did arrive she never introduced her self just said "yea, what can I get you? Have you decided on drinks yet?" We ordered, when she returned almost 10 minutes later she informed us the cider we order was not available. Then we ordered our food, we chose to just order a few appetizers and salads. Nachos, the chips tasted stale. My husband said it was due to them being over cooked. They were also topping heavy in just the center. The outer side of the chips had no cheese at all. We ordered "Jumbo" wings. This is not a fact on their menu. When you read the word Jumbo you think very large wings... this was not the case and 12 wings for 20$ is a bit over priced in my eyes if you think you are to get " Jumbo" wings. The roasted Brussel sprouts were good. My husband ordered the Wedge salad he said it was just ok. I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken , this was very disappointing. First I have never ordered a Caesar salad, where the dressing was barely placed on the plate itself, then three ribs of romaine placed on top with crumbled bacon and shaved Parmesan... the grilled chicken. Was stone cold, dry and over cooked and on the side of the plate. I barely touched it, unfortunately. I don't know if this is their usual standard, if they have been hit with the unfortunate plague of no staff, if this was newly trained staff, frustrated staff but for being our first visit to this establishment it left me with not wanting to return. My husband and I will maybe attempt again, as this could have just been a bad day. I hate to say that the best thing I had was the Downeast cider, which was given to me in a can and not prepared by anyone. read more

Our B&B host recommended Junction Bowl as they have live music outside on Friday evenings. There's plenty of picnic tables for groups and Adirondack chairs near fire pits outside, then inside there's a large dining area or you can eat at the bar. I ended up getting the fried chicken sandwich which was really tasty, especially with the hot honey drizzle. We also got the pepperoni pizza which was standard and a few draft beers! My only complaint was that the service was a bit slow, it took a while for them to serve us waters, and later when we waited at the bar to order drinks post meal. However, the arcade section is SO FUN! You can purchase game cards with cash or credit, but if you purchase higher amounts with credit, you can get some game credit, ie: $20 get's you $23 worth. Most games were $1/person, the clown game and the connect 4 basketball were the best in my opinion! The machines that checked your point totals weren't working and the attendant at the prize section wasn't there, or it could have been closed since it was later in the evening. Either way most of the prizes were very okay, some candy options or plastic toys. There's also bowling which we didn't get to try, but on a Friday evening it didn't seem too crowded! read more

This is such a great addition to the Gorham Area. There Is something for everyone, from bowling to a game room, restaurant and bar. During the night of the pandemic I would frequent Junction Bowl for a great dining option with plenty of space outside and parking. As the years have evolved I have found myself visiting less and less, I went a few weeks back for bowling and lunch. While the place is modern, busy and have decent food, I wouldn't be my first choice of bowling alley's. Paying per hour was not ideal. We had to share the bowling ramp which count down on our bowling time, we ordered food that we had to rush to eat since we have to pay per hour for bowling. The waitress was subpar, when she asked if we wanted anything else, she stopped looked at the timer and said, "oh never mind, you have five minutes left." The food is just average. We showed up for jest a normal blowing sesh there was 2 people at the front desk 1of them getting the shoes the other was adding up the prices , we did not have to wait they gave us the lain number and we jest went. Terns out the bumpers at our lain we're not working ,we told the worker and they fixed it right away. This is the place to go for a one stop or fun and good eats! You can chose to eat outside or inside. I've done both and great experience overall. Has a bowling alley. So perfect for date night. And great outdoor space with live music for big groups. As for the food. ALWAYS amazing! Drinks are made just right. Celebrated my birthday with my family at the Junction Bowl in Gorham, Maine. After a terrible time driving through 5pm traffic in Gorham I finally arrived hungry. I found the restaurant nice with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. My family decided to take the birthday celebration inside. Interestingly, our food was already at the table because I had placed my order while waiting traffic. I enjoyed several fried pickles before I dove into my cheese burger. Fried pickles were breaded lightly and fried golden for a wonderful rich taste. My burger was cooked to perfection as were the fries. My wife's fried haddock sandwich was delightful with a generous flaky, moist and flavorful portion of haddock. She fell in love with my nieces children's Mac & cheese order. We went to Junction Bowl on Saturday night and had a great time bowling (yes bowling! every other lane and you only use the bowling balls you chose.) There was live music outside with lots of comfortable outside seating as well as plenty inside, well spaced seating. All of the staff were working so hard to keep things clean and organized and it was truly extra clean. They were attentive and caring. Food was even better than before! It was the BEST salad I have had in a restaurant- it not only had lettuce and tomato, there were chick peas, roasted red peppers, lots of calamata olives, artichoke hearts and crumbled feta with quarter slices of toasted Naan bread. Place is small for bowling if you have more than 5 people in your group. Good luck trying to bowl while the other lines are being used by others. There is no room for people to seat. Luckily we only had 5 people as if there was more we would have no room. The food was open. You get for what you pay for. The waitress that we had was horrible!! Wife and I were driving through town at lunchtime on a Wednesday this summer and decided to try it. Walked in the door greeted by two women working behind the bar. One offered us a table inside our out, we chose outside. From the looks of it there was one or two small tables inside and we were the only ones outside. After being seated by the hostess, at least 15 minutes went by and we still had not been greeted by our waiter/waitress. On top of the very long wait at our table, we must have been directly downwind from the very full and smelly dumpsters which was bothering my pregnant and morning sickness-prone wife. We left for another restaurant and never saw anyone come out behind us to check in on our walk to the nearby restaurant. Wish we could review the food and service but we had neither. read more

I am very glad that so many have had a great experiences here. My first experience here was a work function and it was awesome. My second and third experience was not so good. The service was terrible. It took us forever to get a waitress to take drink or food orders. This past time while we were checking in another patron approached the hostess stand and said hello it has been a half and hour and we have not seen a server. So my husband said to the hostess I really hope that doesn't happen to us again because this was our experience here in the past. She assured us that it was not the case and a server would be with us right away. This happened to be taco Tuesday so I was excited to try the margarita flight and hear about the taco special. First of all if you are going to advertise a taco night you should at least have an idea how to make a taco. The appetizers were yummy. The rest was awful. I ordered two margarita flights and walked out feeling absolutely nothing! I should have had a little buzz or something. It was like drinking a shit ton of juice . Very expensive juice the tacos were soggy and had no authentic flavor to resemble anything tacoish. Between the delayed service and the less than desirable food and drinks we have decided we gave this place enough chances and we will not be back. We came on December 16 to Celebrate my 5 year old grandsons birthday. What an incredible nightmare. We had to keep asking about are table being ready after one hour of bowling... we were seated only to wait almost 40 minutes to take our drink order and another 15 for our food order. I ordered Nachos for my meal and after ( being in the food business hoping it's not going in as an app) couldn't find our waitress to double check.... ) outcome the Nachos by whom I thought was a line cook and in turn I said " that's supposed to be my meal. He absolutely being so rude as he was put out and turned carried my lunch back into the kitchen tooo what else ...... serve me 20 minutes later the same nachos that sat under the lights no doubt. The food came out in doubles, there was 12 of us , and the kids got there pizza last after another 15 minutes trying to locate it.... My mom , 87 had to wait for a cup of coffee because they couldn't locate filters.... We have frequented this place many times and purchased gift cards throughout the past few years! Never Again! The manager, owner should have put himself out on the floor instead of being in the kitchen. I found out The owner was the "line cook" He really should see what a mess he's in charge of and how unprofessional and not interested in taking care of customers he had no clue were loyal. No way!
