I wish we could give half stars as this place deserves 4.5*. I had the Cajun shrimp taco which were stuffed with shrimp and served with a very nice sauce. They were delicious. I tried some of my mom's onion rings which were perfectly crispy and golden.

So the start of the review will probably question my ranking but hear me out. It was a long week and was having a craving for a beer and pizza. Had heard about JB and when I drove by thought it would be worth the visit. The setting is pretty cool if Covid was not in play. Did not go inside but poked my head real quick to see the bowling alley, which was being used. The outside area was well spaced and offered small and larger group seating. The host was such a nice man and very attentive to the people. Why I say that is that he was more concerned about our tables not getting service. Not sure if there was a mix up with tables or short staffed but there was a good crowd. Enjoyed the music performance and my beer while waiting to order my pizza. Decided to try to the BBQ chicken, bacon and ranch pizza. The space offers WiFi but need a password for the guest access. However the Hannaford Fresh approach will work too. My server was so sweet and came out to inform me that my pizza was coming but the kitchen was having problems. Ordered a second beer and soon my pizza and pizza arrived. It looked great and smelled wonderful. And the taste. Well, holly crap it was an awesome pizza. I mean, an I will eat the whole pizza in one sitting pizza. So tasty and made up for the wait time. It was a little chilly and wish they would have turned on some heaters since I was waiting, but definitely worth another trip.

A former co-worker left to start this awesome business with friends and family. This place is such a welcome addition to Gorham. It's such a warm and fun atmosphere. I had the privilege of getting to attend a private work party here. Parking - There was plenty of parking on the street, to the left of the building and a few spots behind the building as well. Atmosphere - FUN! There is something for most here. There is a full bar, there is traditional 10 pin bowling and an arcade!! I love arcades and this brought me back to being a kid again. Arcade - some of the party favorites included, but not limited to: the Virtual Reality (VR) game, that is not for the faint of heart if you are afraid of heights or have motion sickness, the basketball game, skee ball and the giant Space Invaders game. They use game cards, so you load credits onto the card and then you swipe to play. Makes it so much easier then the old days of tokens and quarters/change machines. Bowling - they had a ton of options for bowling balls...different weights hand sizes etc. The seating area is roomy and comfortable. The food - YUMMY - i was able to try their cheesy macaroni and it was cheesy and decadent. Yum. The chicken wings...I couldn't stop eating them. They were the GOOD small size wings. they were crispy but I could eat them with a knife and fork. YUM. Staff - they were nice, good humored and fast! They were excellent hosts to our party. I highly recommend Juncton Bowl. If you go, tell Kassie that Joanna says hi.

Food was good. My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich. I LOVED the fries. Probably the best fries I have ever had. The spinach and artichoke dip was okay but I wished it was more spinach-y. They have a large outdoor eating area. They allowed dogs there too. I didn't know when we decided to go there that they had bowling. They have have a small game room inside.

Neat place, bowling big balls, arcade and bar food. Outdoor space is great for hanging with friends. Good location with the college nearby. The building is beautifully designed to look like a rail way station. Lots of parking

This will not be one of my usual happy reviews unfortunately. Hostess, did not smile. Barely interacted. Didn't even say follow me. She grabbed menus and started to walk away. I looked at my husband and said, " are we to follow her?" We were seated outside at the only table without an umbrella, mind you there were other tables available. It took our waitress sometime to get to us, when she did arrive she never introduced her self just said "yea, what can I get you? Have you decided on drinks yet?" We ordered, when she returned almost 10 minutes later she informed us the cider we order was not available. Then we ordered our food, we chose to just order a few appetizers and salads. Nachos, the chips tasted stale. My husband said it was due to them being over cooked. They were also topping heavy in just the center. The outer side of the chips had no cheese at all. We ordered "Jumbo" wings. This is not a fact on their menu. When you read the word Jumbo you think very large wings... this was not the case and 12 wings for 20$ is a bit over priced in my eyes if you think you are to get " Jumbo" wings. The roasted Brussel sprouts were good. My husband ordered the Wedge salad he said it was just ok. I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken , this was very disappointing. First I have never ordered a Caesar salad, where the dressing was barely placed on the plate itself, then three ribs of romaine placed on top with crumbled bacon and shaved Parmesan... the grilled chicken. Was stone cold, dry and over cooked and on the side of the plate. I barely touched it, unfortunately. I don't know if this is their usual standard, if they have been hit with the unfortunate plague of no staff, if this was newly trained staff, frustrated staff but for being our first visit to this establishment it left me with not wanting to return. My husband and I will maybe attempt again, as this could have just been a bad day. I hate to say that the best thing I had was the Downeast cider, which was given to me in a can and not prepared by anyone.

At…read morefirst, I was put off by the atrocious parking, but what else could I expect in down town? This place definitely gives "butcher" and "market" vibes, which was expected. Indoor seating was lacking, and the menu wasn't huge...but trust me, the variety was just enough to satisfy just about anyone. I ordered the smash burger, which was messy, greasy and absolutely fantastic. I got the turkey club for my kids to split (and this thing was HUGE) they didn't finish it . My wife got the Cesar wrap, and she was beyond happy with it. She even brought half back home with us. I strangely suggest going on a nice day and sitting outside, it was wonderful. (Pro-tip; if going during peak lunch, expect a wait on the food. We went into Azul Tequila and got an appetizer to go so we could eat this while waiting for our sandwiches. Honestly, it's the best of both worlds)

Ahh, the sign of a butchers cleaver. I am not sure what this provokes in most people, but as I've…read moresaid before, Stephen King gives me the heebie-jeebies. So for me, the butcher cleaver represents something tasty--except for when the shmuckabaloos haven't a clue what they are doing. Fortunately, this tasty little joint, Miller's Market up in Gorham, Maine, knows what they're doing! I'd been cruising the highways, riding the coast of Vacationland for some time now, and somehow, someway, ventured a bit further inland. Once I saw the burnt-orange cleaver in the window, I knew I'd have to give it a try and see if these hullabaloos knew what they were doing. I was greeted with a "Hey, how you'rrrr doin'?" The soft, rolling extension on the r made me feel right at home in Maine. Jeezum crow, you Mainers speak funny. But by golly, you are a lovable bunch of hillbilly farmers and fisherfolk. Anywho, I ordered myself a chicken Caesar wrap--wanting to feel nourished, but not to the point of comatose. Salad in a wrap--a genius way to feel healthy. Mind over matter. "Hand-cut fries or hand-cut chips?" the counter guy asked me. Now, I love a fry, but I'm feeling crunchy in these overcast late-April days. I hesitate, and somehow this mind reader behind the counter could sense it. "I can see you want the chips, but you gotta try these fries. Why don't I give you a little of both?" he says to me. Now I'm looking at him cockeyed--just another Mainer who seems to be able to read a man's soul. Well, I am here now--no turning back. And then my eyes widen when I spot a tasty crème soda in the fridge next to the register. My lucky day. Crème soda--the most underrated of all sodas. What's not to love? Creamy and poppy all in the same bottle. This guy seems nice, and I am in no rush, so I say, "Hey, throw it on my tab. I'm going to be a while. After I eat, I'm going to write something!" I pull up a spot without paying and know that there's no expectation to do so--at least not right away. Good ol' Maine courtesy, as good as this blueberry Jalapeño salsa from Pemberton partners, which I can apparently purchase at Millers Market, where it just ain't sangys it's home goodies too. I open up my futuristic-typewriter and get to work on my latest novel, but can't seem to find a single word. I glance at the menu--buffalo chicken pesto sandwich. Hard tellin', not knowin'. Mainers--brilliant folk when it comes to food. Pesto and buffalo sauce! Never had it, but I need it. That's bound to be tasty--as warm buttah' on lobstah. "Hi, I'll take my butter with lobster, please."--how it should be ordered. Dee-EEE --licious. You Mainers are shaking your heads right now, pesto and buffalo is probably a common thing round these parts, from ya? Nope I ain't and the rest of the country is far behind on the trend of the buffalo/pesto combo, I can promise you that. Then my food is brought out to me. It looks tasty--but the fries have me skeptical.... Find out how it all turned out at https://ryanccurtis.com/blog/timeless-fries-at-millers-market/n19c63

We came for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, expecting it to be packed. It was actually pretty quiet and service was exceptional. There were a couple of drink specials that we had to try - a Mexican Espresso Martini with honey tequila and cinnamon simple syrup and a spicy pineapple margarita. Both were amazing. Chips were warm and salsa was good. After we ordered, the food came out quick - shockingly so. Both my chicken tamale and Chile relleno were smothered in this amazing red sauce with nice chile flavor. The relleno had a very satisfying cheese pull and reminded me of what I used to get in Southern California. The chicken in the tamale was a little dry, but I used the red sauce to solve that problem real quick. The dish that I was a little disappointed in was the birria taco - the consomme was very oily and didn't have that depth of flavor that you expect from this dish. There also wasn't nearly enough cheese. The braised beef inside was very very tender and tasty, though. The Pollo Sinaloense - a thinly pounded and breaded chicken breast topped with chorizo and cheese - was unique and delicious, and nicely balanced with a little salad and Spanish rice. The restaurant itself is bigger than it looks from the outside and the booths are nice and comfy. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. They seem to have a great happy hour and a huge menu, so we can't wait to return to try some more!

I parked behind Roots and realized it's a super cute place as I walked up. It shares the building with Green Tree Ministries. They might be one in the same? But they are definitely related. I walked in and saw all these books on shelves, and upon closer inspection, there was little cards in the shape of business cards that were for the taking. Each with a different Christian saying or a verse from the Bible. There was something for everyone. This wall of books goes between Roots Cafe and Green Tree Ministries... so I suspect. Well, I did grab a book ("Why Business Matters to God" by Jeff Van Duzer) and a iced Sugar Plum Latte (latte with a lovely purple blackberry vanilla foam). And I also got some chicken meatballs that were yummy and warm. The service was super nice. I thought the barista was so well hidden back there, though, I prefer when you can see the barista crafting beverages, I just find it neat. But that's okay, the ambiance of the place is warm. There is a huge meeting table, there is two different bar areas to sit, there's a couch corner, and tables. It's winter so I didn't see the outdoor seating, but I am sure it's neat. Food was good, coffee was great, service was kind, bathroom was super clean, parking was easy. I mean what's not to like? I LOVE that it's Christian. I felt so included and loved. I enjoyed the ambiance and the people around me. Some reading bibles and doing study, others just enjoying the good food. I also had a brownie that was quiet tasty.

There's a lot of potential but I will only be back to visit the book store sadly until they make some major improvements. They should take some notes from other bakeries like Wild Oats in Brunswick!!

We booked a reservation and mentioned it being an anniversary for reasoning and they had a note at our table when we got sat down. It was a great little touch service wise that we appreciated. Which service wise our server was extremely friendly and explained specials and checked on us the right amount. Food and drink wise we started off with some cocktails to kick off our celebrating. My wife got the Blueberries & Bubbly which was blueberry infused Tito's and Prosecco with lemon and basil simple. It was a tasty drink, while I got their Strawberry-Jalapeño Margarita that was decent. It was quite strong booze wise and had a good strawberry flavor but lacked the heat I expected and had more of a pepper vegetal flavor. I would likely grab a different drink next time. We also got complimentary bread with olive oil, it was good. Then appetizer wise we wanted their Tomato & Basil Bruschetta that was fantastic! Lastly entree wise we were both wanting some pasta and settled on my wife getting Rigatoni Bolognese and me Gnocchi Mac & Cheese. The bolognese had a hearty sauce with a lot of depth of flavor thanks to beef and sausage and smoked bacon. The entree size was perfect amount for my wife. My gnocchi mac had a lot of crispy pork belly that was the second star of the dish after the well cooked gnocchi. I would say I'm not the average person portion wise so my words may not speak for many but I do wish the entree size portion for my dish was larger. Then to finish of our night we grabbed their peach and blueberry crisp for dessert. It was tasty with vanilla ice cream served beside it but both my wife and I wished it had more crumble or crisp to it. Overall though great dinner and we will keep this spot in mind for future meals. Worth checking out if you want a nice meal close to Portland but not in Portland.
