    Haddock chowder!

Greatest pizza in Maine! While there enjoying the Pepperoni Pandora, try the best Haddock Chowdah!

    The Acropolis w/ white sauce

Ordered a large pizza to go and was still hot when I brought it inside my apartment. Acropolis: chicken broccoli, tomato, and feta cheese and I opted for the white sauce. Served dressing on the side for dipping. Even with the added pizza liner underneath it was soaked in grease but was still very tasty. The pizza alone had fresh, filling toppings and the salad dressing was fun to pair it with. I liked their greek inspired pizza menu and can't wait to go back and try another pie from them.

Penne undrained, laughable amount of sauce and sausage burnt in a microwave.

We've been to Antonia's a handful of times and have had no problem with the food. Service has always been hit or miss, but tonight was just awful. Tonight my wife and I arrived and were promptly seated. Getting drinks took 15 minutes. We had to get up and ask the bartender for cups of ice for our warm bottled sodas. My wife had asked our server twice for ice. The food arrived after a lengthy wait. My wife had penne with meatballs and I had penne with sausage. Both of our pastas were swimming in water. The penne was completely overcooked and had no flavor. There was a laughable amount of sauce on mine and the sausage had been microwaved to a degree of burnt that left the sausage like leather. It was very sad. Our waitress never once asked if we were enjoying the food. She only showed up to bring the check and offer a take home box which we declined. It took a very long time to get bad food and horrid service. We won't be going back.

I had a souvlaki chicken salad. It was a decent size portion with a great tasting house dressing. The best feature was the grilled chicken . They were nice sized morsels that was perfectly grilled and it so tender. The bread that were given with butter was great tasting too. I have been trying to do a low carb diet and ate mostly the crust . It was a great tasting crusty bread nonetheless. If you like bread opt for this rather than the pita bread. Hubby had the tenderloin steak kebab. I had a piece of tenderloin and no pun intended it was tender! It comes with basmati rice. Nicely plated. Our app was Buffalo chicken wings. I'm a wing fanatic and these were ok. Not too crispy . They were nicely sized wings but not too crispy to my liking. Overall it was a good meal.

Eggplant Parmesan. Update 2023 last few times hardly any sauce on the noodles.

We have consistently had great experiences here. Food is always exactly what we hope for when ordering and in some cases, exceeded expectations. The service is always very good. Pleasant, prompt and fun to interact with. The management and staff at this location, are always so professional and well skilled. They definitely help make it a great experience. The environment hasn't really changed - cozy warm living room feel. Upholstered furniture. Still very nice. It's amazing that it doesn't feel worn out, even after all of these years. In the colder days, the fire place and fire pits are nice. Appetizers have been consistently great. The favorites: fresh bread, crab cakes, calamari and meatball Main dishes - any of the specials they offer are typically great. The most recent one I had was the crab cake and burrata risotto. Any pasta dish is usually amazing and I love ALL of their dinner salads with so many protein options you can add. The desserts - the only one that I know and love is the chocolate cake. ALWAYS consistently good! Parking - street and behind the restaurant there is a lower lot - difficult if you have accessibility needs, as it's an angled driveway. Warning - it's a one way in and one way out lot! There are signs, however, I have seen some people either not see them or ignore them. Drive slowly. Reservations - Easy peasy via the Resy App! I highly recommend reservations even on days you think it might be slow. This place is a main hub for the town and surrounding towns for a nice sit down dinner that isn't too casual.

Chitarrucci neri ai frutti di mare (black ink chitarra pasta with seafood), however, was something I really wanted to have again. I was hoping that it would be as great as I remembered ... it was. We started with Cozze alla sambuca. I would not have thought of putting fennel or sambuca with mussels, but it was a good combination. The other players (shallot and herbs) were well balanced too. The Insalata de Cesare was fresh and well dressed, with a generous portion of shaved parmesan. The Chitarrucci was the star, with pasta cooked just right and plenty of mussels, shrimp, scallops, calamari, and clams. If I have to be picky, the calamari may have been slightly over cooked, but I'd order this dish over and over again. (I didn't taste it, but the gentleman at the next table had a beautiful plate of ossobuco, with the osso standing up in the middle of the risotto with a sprig of herb 'planted' in the marrow. He said it was great) If you're anywhere near Boothbay, make a reservation and try Ports of Italy.

We dined at Ports of Italy one night while in Boothbay Harbor. For an Italian restaurant, it was…read moregood but not great. We shared a Caesar salad, which was fine, but it was nothing memorable either. We each got our own entrees, which we hadn't been doing because it's usually too much food, and since we were on a road trip, there wasn't much point to requesting doggy bags like we normally would because we wouldn't be able to eat the leftovers. Unfortunately, neither of us finished our meals... they were both tasty, but we ended up leaving food on our plates. I hate wasting food like that. I think we'll return to our one-entree-and-share-it protocol for the remainder of our trip. That seems to be working for us. My chicken dish, Pollo con Funghi, which came with tomatoes, olives and mushrooms in a white wine butter sauce seasoned with basil, garlic and oregano, was tasty, but it was too large a portion for me to finish. There was also some squash, and we had ordered a side of spinach, too. I was very sad to not have taken the remaining food for leftovers. Would've been great. My husband ordered the Ravioli di Astice, which was lobster and ricotta filled ravioli in a prosecco and aurora sauce. Not sure what aurora sauce is, but when I tasted it, the sauce was delicious. My issue with his dish was that the ravioli was severely undercooked, and it was way too chewy... definitely not al dente. They simply didn't cook it long enough, which was a shame because the flavors were excellent. Big miss for an Italian restaurant. I suppose I'd give this place another try if we're ever fortunate enough to return to Boothbay. We definitely would have to agree on one entree between the two of us, though, so we don't waste food.

I don't know if they stepped up their game, if last time I was here was an off day or if my man in the kitchen has anything to do with it. But this place lives in a while different place in my brain. Apps Asparogi Avvolti: Prosciutto wrapped asparagus with fontina cheese and balsamic glaze. Sweet young asparagus, wrapped in salty prosciutto with nutty fontina melted over the topped, drizzled with the perfect about if sweet glaze. Fried Calamari: calamari, fried cherry peppers, arugula, and cherry pepper aïoli. Fresh, breading was light and crispy. My only complaint here is there weren't enough tentacles, a lot of rings. I usually only eat tentacles because the rings are usually close cousins to rubber bands. That was not the case here, but I still wanted more tentacles. Either way very delicious. The restaurant is very romantic - dark lighting, chandeliers, ornate china, candles, on a cobblestone street. Our reservation was at their large wrap-around bar in the front. The bar seats weren't the most comfortable - they have no backs and they are drilled in place; if ever returning, I'd book a table. I didn't realize they had a whole back room which has two levels of additional tables and lounge seating as well. Even though the bartenders were very busy preparing intricate cocktails, we still received wonderful service. Our bar seats gave us a view of the kitchen windows, so we were able to see all the dishes coming out which was helpful in informing our decisions. We had the whipped ricotta and arancini to start. The ricotta was a large portion and came with tall breadstick crackers - it was really good, same with the riceballs. For my main, I got the radiatori pasta. I enjoyed it and brought some back as leftovers. Lastly, we shared the blueberry tiramisu for dessert. By the time the meal ended, we were sickly full since everything was so good and we wanted to clear our plates. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a date night or large groups.
