Really great little hidden gem! The staff were all friendly and helpful. Everything that we ordered was very tasty. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, which my wife hadn't seen, and she was unsure which she preferred between mine and her club, which is rare for someone who has a knack for finding the best thing on the menu! I've wanted to try the food here for ages, one of those things that it just didn't work out. Today my granddaughter called and said let's go. I had a Great Island breakfast sandwich - very good and messy! Done just right - I think next time I may have the secret sauce on the side. If you're debating whether the lobster sandwich here is worth it, you can stop. Phenomenal. I grew up in Brunswick and have been seasonal in Harpswell for 20 years, and this is the best lobster anything I've had. Huge amount of high quality meat with accents that actually improve rather than take away from the taste. I will so definitely be back! read more

Everything I've ever gotten here has been so super delicious. I would leave it 10 stars if I could! It gets pretty busy in the summer but completely and totally worth it--bring a blanket and picnic on the gorgeous lawn or order ahead online. We ordered two sandwiches for lunch and it cost $54. Granted, one was a lobster sandwich, however, it had no flavor whatsoever. We had to go in search of salt to get some kind of taste out of the sandwich which didn't help. The other sandwich was good, which was the Iris Sandwich with the beet slaw, but definitely not worth $20 with a piece of deli turkey and a slice of Swiss cheese. We did not order any drinks, so one sandwich was $20 and the other $34. There were no prices listed on the menu bar. The decor was very cute, but it was freezing inside on June 29. While sitting there, several customers had to go back out to their cars to get a sweatshirt. When the employee brought our sandwiches out, my friend was in the restroom and she went to the wrong table 1st but then I called her over. When she went to set the sandwiches down, she looked at me because I was at the table alone and with a look of shock she said "You ordered two?" We were hoping for an enjoyable lunch experience, but unfortunately, we will not be going back. read more

First time here, on a whim. The Iris was the best sandwich I've eaten in a long time. My husband loved his sandwich and so did my son. They were super accommodating telling me that they make a smaller size sandwich for kids that isn't specifically listed on the board. First of all, this place is AMAZING!!!! Second of all, this place is UHMAZING! 1. It is located right in middle of a boat yard with BEAUTIFUL boats and views of the water. 2. The environment is so relaxed and very similar to a Starbucks feel (except it's a local business) 3. The food ranges from sandwiches, gourmet grilled cheese's, gourmet potatoes and more.... 4. I had a breakfast sandwich and it was so good that I honestly didn't believe I deserved it. 5. I also got a Sourdough Gourmet Grilled cheese that was actually an "adult" grilled cheese that will blow away any grown up (or child with heighten grilled cheese tastebuds). Iris has fast. become one of my absolute favorite go-to spots for breakfast & lunch. The food is SO good! Their take out menu is exceptional, with many options to add on. I don't think I've ever had a better sandwich, and the daily desserts are well worth sampling, too. I'm most impressed by the creativity and the abundance of flavor in everything I've tried. The setting is magnificent, of course, and the service is friendly, fast and the owner makes every visit a joy. I just love this place! The food was off the chain! Chef Elyse knows what she is doing! My sister had the lobster roll and I had the smash burger. The lobster roll was amazing (probably the best I've had since being in Maine) and the smash burger was the best burger I've ever had. The topping, the bun and the medium burger with this glorious burger sauce was just a mess but the best mess to have! I wish I had taken pictures to prove how amazing everything was. read more

Vacationing in Maine and couldn't wait to visit Iris Eats! There were so many wonderfully tempting menu items to choose from, but narrowed my options and chose The Lookout Point! This was the most delicious and beautiful lobster sandwich that I have ever seen or tasted! Not only was it exceptional, the microgreens, pickled onions, potato chips and fresh pickle were yummy accompaniments. I loved this so much, I returned for another a few days later, and that, too, was equally amazing! Iris Eats Maine at Safe Harbor Great Island Boat Yard is a great addition to the Harpswell community. The food is great! We can be found here at least one day a weekend and now that Iris is open Thursdays, even more opportunity for a great breakfast or delicious lunch. The baked goods are tremendous. We are so glad Iris Eats opened this winter. We try to go every weekend. The breakfast sandwiches are exceptional. We love the rotating selection of baked goods, especially the homemade pop tarts and Bundt cakes. Also a nice selection of goods for take out (wine, Maine beers and coffee).
