Summer in Maine always means a continuation of my search for the best lobster roll. Today brought me to Morse's (they close at 4 on Sunday so go for lunch). The roll was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of butter and nothing extra...just lobster. It was a good amount and is, traditionally, served with chips. You can order fries or onion rings instead. Food came out quickly. The lemonade was delicious. The spot is hard to beat. Parking can be a little challenging. read more

Not much to update - but had to add the photo of the most amazing sea food nachos - my brother-in-law from FL was so waiting for it - and the staff did not disappoint - there was a long line, it was hot, but the team at Morse's are the best. As she handed me the dish she said "this is truly a work of art". We agree, and it was SO tasty (and all gone). read more

What a beautiful spot! And the seafood is excellent! The lobster was SO fresh and the roll was perfectly grilled. The fried Haddock was very moist, well seasoned, lightly breaded and not greasy! This food truck is seriously great food. The lobster roll is just meat! So moist and succulent--tastes like it just came from the ocean! I loved the seafood nachos too. Freshly fried puffy chips are spectacular and I did not expect to love the fresh mango salsa with fish and shrimp, but it was amazing. I had a blueberry lemonade as well--super sweet for me, but delicious nonetheless. The staff is super friendly and service is orderly. Take home to enjoy or sit at one of the patio tables and catch a view of the coast. read more

I visited Maine back in mid-September for work, but our kind host also took us sightseeing and ensured that we were able to enjoy Maine's seafood while we were there. Morse's was an unexpected treat! From the location to the menu, it was the perfect experience for our group. The lobster quesadilla was so delicious with bits of artichoke and the mango salsa adding an additional sweetness and acidity. My friend shared her crab cake and onion rings with me, which were both tasty! I tasted almost a nuttiness to the crab cake coating. And let's not forget the blueberry lemonade - I could have drank a whole gallon from how delicious it was. I love coastal Maine and will definitely be coming back for more exploring. read more

Such a beautiful place to hang out and eat good seafood. I love the fried clams-nice and sweet with not too much batter. My grandkids crave the fish and chips. There's plenty of lobster tanks and tide line for them to explore while waiting for the food. I don't mind waiting as the view of the boats, islands and cottages is gorgeous! read more

Definitely worth the trip to find this hidden gem in Harpswell at Allen's Seafood. This little food shack is right on the bay. The lobster roll, clams and haddock bites were all amazing. The seafood nachos were interesting and included mango. Everything was very fresh, and you can buy whole live lobsters at their little store. The people were friendly and helpful. This place is excellent. But of course with generations of history it has to be. I'm a bit hung up on the fried haddock and fries (the best) but I promise myself to branch out a bit such as with the seafood nachos. The smash burgers are great as are the reasonably priced lobster rolls. They even gave Mixie! Sit and eat on the outdoor chairs looking over the harbor. What could be better? read more

We were lucky to make it to Morse's between the downpours! We got the seafood nachos and fried clams and French fries. Everything was delicious. The nachos were colorful and flavorful, packed with fresh tomatoes, purple onion, thin cabbage, mango and herbs and of course chunks of fried fish and shrimp. All served over house cut flour tortillas puffed and crispy. Delicious. The fried clams were top notch and the fries were probably the best fries we have ever had. Service was quick and friendly. We opted to eat in our car due to impending rain- and watched the bay. We will be back! read more

We have eaten at Morse's various locations for years and were disappointed when we showed up at Bailey Island to find they are no longer at crib stone bridge. Fortunately we ran into them at Allen's seafood. Asked if the clams in the clam chowder were fresh and whole. The woman said "yes." They were not. They were chopped or minced clams, which tasted canned, and there were very few of them. Mostly, the chowder was potato soup. And expensive. Erica's clam chowder is expensive, as well, but whole clams and a lovely (thinner) broth. Disappointed and poorer. read more

Morse's fried clams and French fries are the best I've eaten since the old Square Deal Restaurant on Bailey Island closed many years ago. The batter is perfect and doesn't taste like pancake batter which seems to be the norm these days. The fried shrimp are a close second to the clams. Everything I've had at Morse's has been delicious. Best lobster roll in the area... along with the best view if the weather cooperates. Their "smash" hamburger which is 2 small patties is also great. Their salad with fresh berries which they used to serve at the restaurant is still made with their homemade dressing. This is just a food truck with some seating. Hope the town gives them the okay to have tables, but the chairs will do. read more

This is a terrific replacement for the beloved Morse's Cribstone Grill (Bailey Island/Harpswell,ME) that closed at the end of the 2021 summer season. Many of the same menu items enjoyed at the Grill are available along with daily specials. Order and relocate a short distance just down the road to enjoy views at Lookout Point or pull up a chair near the food truck for views of a working lobster wharf. You might consider bringing your own chairs (especially if choosing a spot at Lookout Point) but also because seating is minimal at the food truck. Highly and happily recommended! read more

What a cool little spot hidden away at the end of a road in Harpswell! It has one of the most incredible views of any lobster shack I've ever been to and lobster Rolls are affordable and excellent! The onion rings,mwah! Bring a table and a bottle of wine for sunset! read more
