We had just visited the Botanical Gardens and found Karen's roadside stand on Yelp. I have attached pics of the menu, but no pics of food because we ate in the car since we were enroute to Boston. We had a wide variety of items from chicken fingers to crab BLT and lobster. The only unusual thing for us (we r from PA) was having pineapple in coleslaw. Service was good...poor Karen had multiple orders she was juggling. We loved the smell of the bacon on her grill! There were umbrellas on the picnic tables which kept us cool in the July heat. If we were locals - I would go back!

    Crab and lobster roll. Fantastic!!

This was recommended to us by one of the local fisherman who assured us it was the freshest lobster and crab around. He was absolutely right! We had a lobster roll and a crab roll. They were both so tasty and delicious and you could definitely taste they were fresh! Karen was very attentive and super enjoyable to talk to. This is a food truck with a laid back atmosphere which was perfect for us! We will definitely go back soon!

Hub and I made a trip back to Booth Bay, Me, it's about 5years since we were here. What the heck was I thinking, it is a beautiful place to vacation. Once arriving, this place had me at hello. One of my memories 5 years ago was eating at Karen's Hideaway roadside stand. We got settled in at our Campground and the next day we made a bee line to Karen's for the best ever Lobster Roll in Booth Bay, bar none! A roadside stand and you eat your meal on picnic tables with umbrellas and enjoy the wildflowers and cool breeze. You can get small and large Lobster Rolls with either potato salad made with cheese and bacon or slaw made with pineapple, both are just delicious and made fresh daily, nothing like I ever had and a tip just so you know, the slaw recipe is Karen's hubby's mother's recipe, a family affair. We both got large Lobster rolls, hub got his with light mayo and I got mine naked with drawn butter, both with that wonderful potato salad and fries, piping hot. Talk about pigging out and not an ounce of guilt!! It was so fantastic, we ate both of the lobster rolls. They have a bunch of other menu options, crab roll, hot dog, hamburgers and shrimp and clam dinner's. Can soda to drink and Utz brand chips. We got a free tour of the live lobster tanks and Garry even posed for a picture for me. What a nice man with a a great gift of gab, lucky us! Try this place, save yourself the time and aggravation of going downtown Booth Bay combing the streets for a parking spot. Highly recommend this place!! Debbie and Bob, MichPS Cash or check only

Very pleased with our first visit here, I must say that the atmosphere and surroundings are lacking but the lobster roll was quite good. The roll was the typical, standard sized, buttered and grilled NE style hotdog bun. The chunks of meat were a bit on the large size which made it hard to chew at times. They were available with mayo or butter. We got one with mayo and found the balance very good. The lobster meat was excellent and flavorful and definitely worth the visit. If you are a tourist, please do not judge places like this by their looks...they can be very rewarding.

Stopped at this gem after visiting the trolls. Lobster roll was excellent with plenty of lobster. The potato salad was a hidden delight. Yum! For non-seafood diners, the BLT was a tasty option paired with the refreshing pineapple coleslaw.

Best lobster roll hands down! Had some friends in town and we did a taste test around Boothbay area - tried a lobster roll at many locations. While most were very good - Karen's had the most lobster meat and best tasting. Don't let the location off the side of the road deter ya- grab one!

Found this restaurant on yelp after searching for a non-mayo lobster roll. The lady working there (I'm assuming Karen?) was really nice and helpful. I got the fried lobster roll without mayo and it was really good. Definitely worth a visit!

I've been sampling lobster rolls across Maine and Karen's wins the blue ribbon! My friends had delicious meals of crab roll and haddock blt and haddock Rueben. All yummy!

It doesn't get any better than the food you'll receive here at Karen's. Across the street from the water, you may miss this place if you aren't looking. Hopefully you'll make it because it's amazing.

this place is great if you want great food for a good price away from all the hustle and bustle of boothbay harbor! huge portions sizes and the staff are so nice! heads up: cash and check only! Enjoy! my favorite was the crab melt

Food tasted fine, but surrounding parking and eating area unkept. Picnic tables not cleared. Could be a cute place with some work.

Yes the lines are long, sometimes 2-3 hours before it's your turn to order your meal. Today I ordered an appetizer lobster pop. It was ok nothing to write home about but I also ordered scallops , onion rings, lobster roll, excellent iced tea & excellent iced coffee. We picked an outside table & waited for our order to be delivered. It only took 10-15 minutes to have our order delivered. Red's doesn't weigh their lobster all they do is pile it on so high you can't see the buttered grilled hotdog roll. Served with a side of hot butter to dip or pour on the lobster. I couldn't finish my roll so I took home some leftover lobster that I weighed at home. It weighed 4.7 oz more than what a normal lobster roll weighs regularly. I can safely say there was around 16z of fresh tender lobster meat. No chewiness incurred. Look closely at the pictures & start making plans to visit Red's Eats in Wiscasset Maine. We chose to go visit when they 1st opened on May 6th so the line we stood in was only 10-12 people deep. We will go back in October before they close for the season. This will be the most impressive lobster shack you'll ever experience. Make plans & drive there soon.

OPENING DAY 2026 I…read morewas lucky enough to be in the area on opening day and knew it was finally time to try the famous Reds Eats as a native Mainer. Since it was opening day on a wednesday and i arrived around 1:45 i only waited in line about half an hour so i cant speak on wait times during peak season. I do know however that i would wait in a longer line to eat this food again because it was more than worth it. First of all the customer service is exceptional- i dont think i have had a better more friendly experience. They give you sampled while you wait in line and during my time they were handing out their beer batters fried shrimp and wow even that was amazing! I waited while it was cold and rainy as well so the hot shrimp was a wonderful surprise. I watched ever interaction the employees had with every individual party and the never wavered in politeness or excitement. They treated everyone with the same respect and really took their time catering to them. Now onto the food, i ordered the sweet potato fries with the house made maple aoili, a side of cole slaw, and of course the lobster roll which was a market price of $38 on opening day. The food came out so fast, the wait times are not because they don't get food out in a timely manner because they were an excellent well oiled machine in the kitchen. This lobster roll is absolutely STUFFED with lobster. I had at least two tails, two claws, and then some in my one hot dog roll and i couldn't even pick it up. Let's just say i fork and knifed it until i could take a bite of the roll which i am not complaining about at all! Comes with hot butter on the side which i liked more than just being dumped onto the roll beforehand. Pro tip- get the side of sweet potato fries because the house made maple aoili it comes with is also fantastic when you dip your lobster roll in it! Plus the fries were perfectly hot and crispy. Cole slaw was a great addition too for some crunch! I love being able to look out into the water as you sit outside, and i was even bundled up in a jacket but i wouldn't change my experience for anything! This is by far the best price point for any lobster roll you'll get in Maine when we are talking about quality and quantity. You will leave extremely satisfied and the experience is going to stay on your mind until you go again! I can't wait for my next chance to eat at Reds!
